Yeah most elite skills I saw were pretty useless considering their cooldown, especially on warrior and elementalist. Either make them stronger, of make their cooldown a bit shorter.

They already said they have no plans of making you play an interface, so no such thing will ever come. I for one am strongly against such meters, it would only serve to point fingers, even if you are only seeing your own, people would still claim THEY are doing good and that YOU are the one that sucks. TheBaiBish said it well, if your group survived the encounter, then you’re doing good and that’s all that matters.

Dungeon Solo

You do know that other games require coordination of 40 people to clear dungeons yes? Why would you think a group of 5 people is big? Just by that fact Anet already made these dungeons as easiest for you to access as they can be.

As for playing solo, yes Anet designed GW2 so you can play solo, the whole world EXCEPT dungeons because they are there for challenging teamwork that you cannot get anywhere else in the world. Making them solo defeats their whole purpose and what makes them special. A solo dungeon would just be a series of events which you can btw do anywhere in the world anyway.

Also, you do realize that the rewards for a solo dungeons would need to be equally 5 time smaller then, and the rewards are small enough as it is now. People will then complain that those hours spent into solo dungeons simply aren’t worth it, and then nobody will play them. Raising the 5 man dungeon rewards is risky because it might screw up economy.

Necros do not feign death, they embrace it :P But where exactly did you get the impression that necromancers feign death? No game so far had that, that was usually a hunter trick to play dead to avoid bears and other animals.

I like that, a little buff for a well timed dodge would make things more fun. However making dodges even harder won’t make people happy as they already have a hard time dodging.

You can nickname your friends, maybe you can add something to their name so you can easily know when or when you met them? I haven’t really used it, but I imagine it could be useful, I also agree that if you have a ton of friends things can get messy with the current system.

I read this in the latest patch:

“All weapon and armor skins now have the option to be converted to PvP skins. When activating a skin you will be given the choice to either apply the skin to a PvE item or convert the skin to a PvP-only item. Either action will consume the skin. This change applies to all unused weapon and armor skins in the game, regardless of when the skin was first released.”

However I can quite get this to work, does anyone know how this is actually done? I’m not getting this mentioned choice. Also, it only appears to be for pve>pvp. I agree though that the other way should also be added.

Yes something like this would be nice, instead of just adding more dungeons they need to add more stuff for us to tackle across the world. Currently there’s a couple of dragons, but these quickly become boring as they are really easy when everyone just swarms them.

By the time you craft 4 legendaries you can do world completion about 10 times. And it’s not like that would be wasted time, you will till get gold and skill point you need for crafting legendares as well. You need roughly 400 SP for a single legendary if I’m not mistaken, that means to get 4 legendaries you will need 1600 skill points, so you better get to playing your alts if you ever want to reach that number as the fastest and easiest way to get a bunch of skill point is by collecting them in the world.

Rework quick res utility skills.

I think you’re onto something here, sometimes paying a small fee for farther away waypoints can work, but on really small distances it can become an annoyance. I think this could really be improved a bit. Speaking from a level 80 perspective, waypoints on your current map could be free for use, for the adjacent map 1 silver, for 2 maps away 2 silver, for 5 maps away 5 silver and so on. This would be balanced out a bit so exploring your current position would be easier, but also tax you for teleporting all over the corners of the world instantly. At the moment the prices are currently set, the most cheapest prices are for the corners of the world which can be 15 maps away (cost about 4 silver) and the waypoints that are 10 meters away from you cost 1 silver making only long distance teleports a viable option.

However this might have been the way they designed it on purpose to only encourage far away teleports instead of you abusing closer waypoints for uber quick traversal.

If you want to play solo, there are a ton of single player games out there for you to play, this is an MMO which are based on playing together with other people. The whole world can be explored and played completely on your own, in contrast dungeons are designed to be the part of the team-based gameplay aspect of GW2, making a solo mode for these completely destroys their point and purpose.

When you click on the quaggan backpack for example, it displays it with your armor on, however when you select the broom it displays it with your townclothes on, hence why it was obvious to me this was a townclothes item. Doesn’t take a genious to see that connection really.

I’m using the broom and I have no problems with those arms. Also, for some reason I knew that was gonna be town clothes/no skills allowed deal, because I’m pretty sure that’s what I read in the description of the item before I purchased it.

I don’t mind it taking my inventory space (there has got to be a price you pay, a drawback for having multiple sets), but a button that will remember my second set and switch all of the pieces out of combat would really be nice.

People need to stop complaining about the new dailies already, they are excellent. You can easily get ALL of them just by playing normally. There are veteran mobs EVERYWHERE, and reviving also counts on players, so just PLAY the game and stop actively hunting the daily and you will eventually get all of the objectives.

Also, it’s called DAILY for a reason, it’s not called “Half-hourly”, what makes you think it should be mandatory to be able to complete it in just 30 minutes? Dailies should take a day of playing to complete. Another thing, you DO NOT need to complete it every single day if you can only play 30 minutes.

If they are truly your friends, they will help you transfer back, everyone could donate a small amount of gold or silver which you can then change for gems and go back home. If they don’t want to help you out, then they don’t really need you back, they don’t care about you, are those the type of people you call friends ? If not, you can easily get some gold donated to you from your guild.

They reset at 7 EST, which is 4 PST server time. Everything in the game re-sets at this time. This is when Dailies/Monthlies reset. This is when chests reset. Dungeons, everything.

It has always been like this. So unless you live where Midnight falls on that time it has never been midnight.

That is not true, some jumping puzzles reset 24 hours AFTER you have completed them last time. It happened to me numerous times that the chest was already opened even though I played them on two separate days, and I never play late at night.

Yes but most people ignore these friendly circles because they mostly give them useless weak combos they don’t really care about, if it were more obvious that the green circles would heal them everyone could easily stay inside. As it is now, elementalists healing spell are pretty unusable as its mostly a gamble if anyone will even notice them. Moving during combat is essential in this game, hence why ground based healing spells are really hard to aim and become annoying to use. Not worth the hassle since they also don’t heal that much anyway.

A leader indicator won’t fix the issue, it doesn’t really matter who the leader is anyway because everyone and invite more people to the group. What needs to be done is when the leader leaves another member needs to be assigned as leader without the instance resetting.

Yeah I kinda agree as well, though it might not make much sense to be able to bleed an object, it just isn’t fair for people that chose to play with conditions. It’s supposed to be “play it your way”, but condition builds always seem to be the odd one out.

Lol minis DO NOT cost real money, they drop all over especially now with new karma boxes and wintersday events everyone has’em, and you can buy them for 15 silver on TP.

As for looting silver, yes I imagined that as cumulative, if it were to be 10 silver, you can honestly tell me killing 50 mobs during regular play is grindy? But ok I admit its not perfect, the fact that level 80 mobs drop it more than level 10 makes it not really balanced, but hey if nothing its an idea others might expand on or give them new ideas to go on.

I don’t have anything against them being expensive like 300-500g or so, what I do feel is wrong is that the prices are increasing every day, which means the longer you take the more gold you will need. Basically only people that farm 24/7 for months can get them.

I think leveling in this game is extremely fast, just by playing around normally you can get a level in an hour or so, and you will get it even faster if you’re already have way there, hell one dungeon run gives you an entire level worth of exp.

As for 5, you know, the little animals that you can have beside you, minipets.

Salvage 10 items
Loot 10 (or 50?) silver
Identify a dye (or 5?)
Gain a level (or SP by leveling up)
Sell an item on TP
Have a mini accompany you for 5 minutes
Complete a jumping puzzle

I agree, the excessive filter REALLY needs to be toned down. It should be there to prevent you from posting for like 30 seconds, not 2 hours. And it kicks in too early, it needs to kick in after 5 messages have been sent in under 10-15 seconds.

Actually, some of the dungeon vendors don’t have a double check box appear
I could buy some exotic pieces of the wrong type (I’ve done it once) and it won’t ask me if it’s the right purchase. But the potions that cost like 1 or 10 tokens have the dialogue box for some reason…
So basically, this just needs to be fixed

Who’s target takes priority? The problem would be something like the Harathi event where you have three champion rockdogs. If you’re lucky and the group can clump them up then you’re golden. If you have to burn them down individually, who will count as the ranking player? Highest level/Commander/Most hours played/first one to hit the button?

This is more indicative of the need for larger open world grouping. Getting all of the players in a certain area into a “raid” where someone can be designated leader and chooses to make decisions like this.

What he meant was actually calling out enemies only for himself so that he can easily track them. At the moment, calling targets is disabled when solo, so he just wants to be able to do it when solo, not so that others will be able to assist him, but because of some other reasons. Basically he just want’s to be able to do it despite nobody being able to see it.

I tryed TA 2 times with pug….. WIPOE WIPE WIPE WIPE… i dont think is for casual…. need strategy and good group work. And this instance is so big… many mobs on the way.

There is nothing wrong with wiping, keep trying and you will get the hang of it. Getting full dungeon gear isn’t something that is actually there for full time casuals, getting these takes A LOT of farming that no casual will ever even consider. These armor sets are your reward for mastering the challenges presented in explorable modes, which were designed for more skilled players, not casuals.

Dailies such as praying to a statue, talking to a NPC and the one we now have for visiting the Laurel Merchant are no good at all. They don’t encourage active play across the world and are so easy to do that they simply become boring after a few repeats. Dailies need to be designed so that they can be completed at any part in the world, limiting it to a city or an NPC is just stupid. I’m hoping that the laurel merchant daily objective gets replaced with something more fun.

So why not just ask them? Whenever I’m in a dungeon for the first time I ask people if there is anything I should know about for the next encounter, and I also love when people ask me the same if I already did that dungeon a number of times. MMOs are social games, you need to communicate with others, not everyone will hate or kick you if that’s your first time there, everyone has a first time at some point, it’s unavoidable.

Also, that’s what “story modes” are there for, nobody farms them because they don’t really give you anything. Because nobody has incentive to farm them, that means only first time goers will be there playing them (well mostly at least) and it’s only natural for everyone to not know what to do there, meaning team work and communication are likely to have priority instead of automated rushes. They are there to serve as an intro to the dungeon, you get to see the layout and get accustomed to how things work. There’s your “casual mode”.

They noted this request quite a while ago and it’s supposedly on their to-do list already. However, I’m strongly against the ability to preview gear, that would greatly increase elitists to kick you from group because of your stats or whatever. Risking that just because a person was AFK and does not respond isn’t worth it at all.

A new better in game LFG system is being worked on. Hopefully it will be similar to that website and everyone will easily be able to find groups.

Also, what exactly is wrong with trial and error? How do you think these “hardcore” players learned to play dungeons and the tactics when the game launched, by watching the non-existant youtube videos? Ofc not, they played and played and died until they learned. The problem here is that people simply don’t understand that there is NOTHING wrong in failing and dying to learn from your own mistakes. So what if you die 10 times in Ascalonian Catacobs? We all died there many times as well when we first tried them.

Now you’re gonna give me an argument that you just simply don’t have the time to die and die all over to learn that, but that’s just bs. This flaw in your approach is in the need to finish everything as soon as possible, but you don’t have to beat or master the dungeon in one run, or in one-two days or whatever. Playing the dungeon once per week at your own pace and learning it that way isn’t a sin. So what if you died in the third room 10 times and it already took you more than 30 minutes and you can’t play any longer? At least you have the first 2 rooms under your belt now and can finish them more quickly next time you try.

If you can’t stay in a dungeon for more than 1 hour, than that’s fine, simply let everyone know why you need to leave and they will find a replacement, really a no big deal, happens all the time.

No respawning in the Dungeon rez-rush

This no-rez-rushing thing has been the absolute BEST change they have done so far. If this was in the game from the start, then people would have already learned how to play in teams and we would have more experienced people in dungeons already instead of these brainless rushers who let everyone die. The earlier system allowed brainless people to go in and go out without really learning anything or paying attention to their team mates at all. This will soon change.

You mention that its impossible for the last man standing to both kill and revive all 4 members of the team at the same time, and THAT exactly is the point of this. If you found yourself in that situation then you already failed the fight and should restart. The point of teamwork is to actually play as a team, leaving your party to die just because they can rez is NOT team play in any way.

Dungeons were designed to be team based experiences, this update only enforces that. In time, because of this change, people will learn to quickly rez others and then there won’t be any more fuss about this.

Big difference though: GW2’s pricing scheme doesn’t necessarily create profit from constant play due to the lack of a monthly fee. If anything, there is some incentive to NOT make people play every single day in order to save on hardware capacity costs.

Having said that though, this is supposed to be an MMO, and MMOs die a slow and painful death if people aren’t playing them.

Wrong, the more people that play every day increases the likelihood that more people will visit the Black Lion Gem Store, which means they might see stuff they like and spend some cash to get gems and get whatever they want. The fewer people that play every day directly decreases these chances of them actually generating profit.

Upon purchase you are kindly asked “Are you really sure you want to spend XX tokens to buy this armor?”. Blindly saying yes without triple checking if you are buying the correct armor is entirely your own fault, the armor you cannot wear is also clearly marked with red restrictions.

Daily combo

I also completed the combo daily without any trouble, the thing was that your combo shot had to be the killing blow, so not every combo would count.
However how are you sure this was removed? The daily rotates and changes every day, so how can you be sure this was entirely removed because so far we only saw 4 dailies out of 7.
