Anvil Rock don’t drop the ball! Get your self together and attack GoM!
We’re doing our part. NSP is slacking.
This seems backwards.
Shouldn’t us and GoM be working together to attack the winning team…?
I’m having the same issue.
On the topic, does anyone know what “30% increased velocity” on the Longbow is supposed to mean from the patch notes?
…THAT IS NOT AN AXE!
I’d also like this back in-game!
The more I think about it, the less I care about ANet’s philosophy.
Let the gods ponder.
I’ll continue to kill and tell my tales.
Haha, that was great! I’m going to be speccing into power a ways for that one.
Warrior
-snip-
Where is your description of the Warrior from?
Nevermind, I read the patch notes now!
Wow, how disappointing. I can’t believe they actually stated, “They may have a hard time with enemy conditions, and may need to ask for ally help in order to keep themselves free of hampering conditions.”
So I guess the philosophy here is that there isn’t a Holy Trinity of classes, but Warriors need a dedicated condition remover.
We are literally the only Professions whose philosophy in the patch notes includes relying on someone else.
I don’t like it.

I have trouble with mobs’ special attacks. Some of them hit halfway through the little yellow “I’m using a skill!” bar, and some don’t happen until the bar fills. It’s frustrating when I use Shield Stance too soon and it wears off before the attack even happens.
Classy work, Yak!
I love those 1v1s…
A full server condoning cheating is just a sad sight to see.
Yeah, we really didn’t expect you to get your hands on our Declaration of Cheating that everyone on our server signed.
Just kidding. But seriously, please don’t use such awful generalizations.
I’m giving transformations another shot. Today I used Bear Form’s #5 to scare the kitten out of a mob of enemies in WvW. By the time they got back up they were all focused on my terrifyingly large claws and my teammates swept in and eradicated them all! It was glorious. (At least that’s how it went in my head, real reports from non-tranformed denizens may differ)
The roots are still awful…
Jormag’s tooth rent deeply Arena Net’s naming policy team…
CORRUPTION!
Is anyone using and liking stances?
The only time I really found one useful was running as a combat medic in WvW and popping Endure Pain to snag those precious seconds of healing so that I could revive my teammate.
I haven’t noticed any big difference between them.
Axes if you get the Sharpened Axes trait.
However there are a bunch of things to gain adrenaline when hit/blocking.
Cheers, friend!
Haha, hadn’t seen that one before
Okay. Then why is there a general feeling, (as a guardian), that I should only be tanky or reroll? To quote a real person last night, " leave the damage to warriors, there’s no point in trying, they’re too hax". And that’s all I’m really hearing in game.
Peer pressure! Leave those fools to while their time away playing their characters in pigeon holes! I play my Warrior with absolutely zero focus on the damage I’m dealing and I have a great time keeping myself and my allies alive.
I would love a visual indication of my banner’s range. The War Banner has that awesome symbol on the ground when you plant it, why not have something similar (and persistent) for all banners?
And of course I’d love the banner field to give some kind of debuff to my enemies! Maybe that could be an added effect if you trait into banners?
discovers there was a patch today
Oh, I see. That’s kind of upsetting. I don’t understand why the Warrior fixes aren’t happening. I’d love for some communication about this…
There’s supposed to be a patch on the 14th, we’ll see what that encompasses.
(edited by Faranox.4217)
I disagree, I specifically went into the Tactics tree for healing purposes. My Warrior is a combat medic!
I’ll be curious to see what they change for Warriors in the next patch.
That said, I’m having a great time on my Warrior.
Seetoo, you seem to be correct about Warriors having the most traits relating to revival! Interesting, because I play mainly on my Warrior and haven’t really given the idea much thought.
Here are the traits the other classes have in relation to revival (from the GW2 wiki):
Guardian-
Protective Reviver When you revive an ally, you both gain aegis, protection, and regeneration for 10 seconds.
Resolute Healer Generates a Shield of Absorption when you start reviving an ally. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 10 seconds.
Ranger-
Healer’s Celerity Grants swiftness to you and your ally when you revive someone.
Trapper’s Defense Create a spike trap while reviving an ally.
Thief-
Merciful Ambush Create an ambush trap while reviving an ally. This effect can only occur once every 20 seconds.
Elementalist- Arcane Resurrection When you revive an ally, you and the revived ally gain an aura based on your attunement.
Mesmer-
Medic’s Feedback Create a feedback bubble while reviving an ally. (10s recharge)
Necromancer-
Ritual of Life Create a Well of Blood whenever you revive an ally.
Mark of Revival Create a Reaper’s Mark while reviving someone. Can only trigger once every 45 seconds.
*I didn’t include traits that had to do with you rallying
The Warrior’s Tactics trait line is very different because the revival bonuses are Minor Traits, where as all the other classes’ revival bonuses are Major Traits.
Another handy use of Vengeance is pairing it with the War Banner. I’ve had a lot of scenarios in the Fractals where we’ve all been downed and I managed to Vengeance and throw down my Banner to get my party back into the fight.
Add first-person perspective, primarily to make jumping puzzles less confusing.
I’m pretty sure they’d heal the same since they both give the Regeneration boon. The actual amount healed would be determined by the player who cast them, right?
I really like the idea of a cone of protection for players behind the shield warrior. This is already something I sort of do in WvW. When I see a player go down, if someone is already rezzing them I throw up my Shield Stance to try and block any direct incoming fire for the two of them by standing between the enemies and my allies.
Can’t say I’ve had too many issues, but then, I haven’t been on too frequently as of late. Still having fun when I do hop on, so I can wait.
I have a lot of fun playing a Banner support warrior. I ran Fractals for the first time the other day and our ragtag group consisted of a Ranger, a Guardian, and three Warriors- and we rocked it! The main thing is trying out all the weapon types and finding a style that’s fun for you. Also- don’t forget to switch weapons in-combat, because if you don’t things will get stale quick.
I was born in the land of the frozen North
Where we grew up fast and we grew up coarse
So I’m a bit of a slob and a bit of a brute
I get real mean when I miss the moot
But don’t let that fool you- I’m a kind guy
The kind who gets plastered and tries to fly
But Raven wouldn’t have me, Wolfguard tried to stab me
Leopards make me sneeze, and that fur is pretty shabby
So I turned to the last one that I could
…
All alone in the middle of the wood
…
She stood tall and proud and her roar was loud
I thought she meant to kill me but then she calmed down
Pawed on over and sat on the ground
Calm eyes stared into my soul without a sound
She welcomed me into her heart as a son
Ask about my mother and I’ll tell you she’s the only one
Bear was there for me, she loved and cared for me
Taught me to hunt and said her prayer for me
So on the day that I left I was sure to let her know that my legend was gonna grow
Now I leave my mark on the people, land and snow
It’s for her that I beat back every foe
I am completely in love with names ending in -hildr, so that’s a win right there before we even get to the adventurous but elegant Líf. I must ask, is it pronounced GUN-hilder or GOON-hilder?
Chops Mcgee!
With the unlocking of the GW1 names, will we be able to change a current character’s name?
Awesome get-up!
I’m not too worried about ANet tweaking this. Wait and see.
I look forward to seeing how that build will change things.
I agree that this trait seems pretty awful. I’d love for it to somehow mitigate conditions in some way.
Having a great time, cheers all around!
I would see my kicks be able to knock people off of ledges.
Had a great time fighting over Stonemist tonight! Keep up the good fights everyone!
Okay, I understand the being easier to click on in a group thing, but slower animations? It’s just the illusion of being slower, not actually being slower, right? It only makes an artificial difference.
I’m a shield lover in pretty much every game I play. I’d like to see more shield love, but I think I’d rather see a 2H shield than a primary 1H shield.
Not worth the skill points
Weapon X, please explain how you can hide in sPvP at all with text floating above your head? Why do you say Norns run slower? What makes you think the Norn animations are slower?
I find it very hard to believe ANet would have racial differences like that when race specific skills aren’t enabled in sPvP.
I see so many people telling newcomers not to roll a Norn character because Norns are so large in the game. What kind of ridiculousness is that?!
All player characters in the game have the same hitboxes- Norns are NOT easier to hit than other races.
It isn’t easier to hide with other races. This is because you have your name FLOATING above your head all the time!
Why is there so much misinformation?
I don’t want to see any coded alliance mechanics like you’ve described Kepas. Temporary alliances should be as simple as possible. We should attack the guys with the most advantageous position. We shouldn’t be rubbing shoulders with our enemies, they’re still the bad guys after all, but we can stop pushing into their turf for a while as we all fight off the other bad guys.
Adding mechanics for alliances that result in two opposing factions being, essentially, the same faction is not a good idea because it’s too formal and would upset the triangle of balance.
In closing, being ganged up on is great when you’re winning, but it sucks when you keep getting ganged up on after you’ve lost the lead.
I feel like guilds’ willingness to hop servers, and thereby drop all that they’ve acquired on the previous server, shows that server specific guild stuff doesn’t deter people from switching out. I assume that’s what was intended, and if so it hasn’t worked.
This orb bonus affecting PvE would certainly make server hoppers think twice- who would want to throw away a bonus they got for doing essentially nothing?
As for server loyalty, I haven’t really seen it recently, but I haven’t been playing too often either. In many past sieges I’ve been rallied by an ally’s call of, “ANVIL ROCK AND WE DON’T STOP!” But such fun scenarios seem sparse now.
Good fighting tonight everyone! I had a fun time running Dolyaks and getting beat up here and there.
