From what youve said,
the bad side is you have a minimal ammount of unranked games and youre having trouble against current low division players. This tell us youre probably not very effective, be it either bad build, bad class or bad rotations.
The good side is, you can improve effectivness a lot very simply, with taking a defined build and stick to its defined role (suport ele needs to always support teamfight, even if hes against a total baddie. nope. his job is to win 3v3s let other 1v1 guy win 1v1s for example). Metabattle.com, streams or rewatching and analyzing a proleague game from twitch are youre friends, like above example – you just study it till you see your role you dont need to waste too much time into it
The last part is if you stay at same level. All other emeralds will rise untill only bad ones are left and then you can rise, etc. So if you start hiting a 50/50 wall you can wait. Usually you notice the quality drop every week, so give it that much time before next attempt.

You easily and fast look up a 4-digit number representing the MMR value…..oh wait, that thing is guarded as a national security threat.
In all honesty if anything it should be added +10% dmg – like all other weapon traits.
I could even argue that youre missing 10x might or 10% crit chance by not chosing the other traits, and greatsword damage is faaaaar from being an outlier.
I dont really like the idea of removing gravediger limit:
a) it makes autoatack pointless, gs has already 4/5 of its skillset considered useless
b) it does nothing to improve actually landing the gravedigger – youll get random interupted or hit by 1cripple and even warrior will laugh at you.
I kinda cannot my idea of 1second superspeed during #2 cast out of my head.
Given that i cant trade my thousand tomes for experience, could i maybe trade the thousand hours i waste waiting for que for the just few hours of headless running around hot maps that awaits me?

The gravediger is just such a risky, clunky, 10k or 0k imterupted ability. You even spend the whole second and half exposed tanking hits just to land it….and then the reward is 200hp.
Basically you could delete the effect and nobody would notice, its simply worthless. Even in your scenario, a pve open world healer for the pleb masses, your getting zero value from the effect.
You tank and heal with other only half worthless siphons from blood and tank with cleric/rise shout.
You get CD reduction, ok Even tho gs is designed to bypass cds and spam 2 over and over.
An added effect would
-pro (increase dmg, added real effect (boonsteal), increased range) or
-reduced cons (faster casts, improving ability to land the crucial #2 like superspeed and stab for 1s when casting #2 for example)

Theres nothing , in all 3 gamemodes , that could speak a compliment to the GS trait. Its secondary effect is non existent, a rushed excuse with no design.
All the benefits youre listing are from other traits, the secondary effect is zero value.

As far as i minmaxed in value, for wvw its a clear battle of durability vs pack. Durability has better effect especially if i compensate on other armors, but for your case with lots of valkyre, id take pack.
For pve, its scholar vs strength vs wurm.
Strength is expensive but consistent. Id take if i dont mind the money loss and if you often solo open world pve or if you pug dungeon/low fractals.
Wurm is okay, thematic and cheap. Id take it if im a casual – itll give you most fun and for lowest price. Dps wise, you get about +5% overall dmg boost from ferocity bonus which equals the power loss.
Scholar. Id give an example here. Vale Guardian.
-1st phase, target dumy phase
-2nd phase, medium hard, but can be cheezed with counterclock movement
3rd phase… the actual make or break
It doesnt matter if I get 1st phase done in record time, if the comp falls apart and always wipes at 3rd. It is at the latter phases where the fights are more chaotic and everyone loses their +10% bonus at the most crucial part.
Interestingly – the high health pool gives you a nice 3.000 hp of space to manuever. So a valkyre necro might have one the best uptimes on it.
TLDR
Strenght = ez mode but rich
Wurm = extra ez mode + free
Scholar = tryhard mode

I know superspeed is thematically engies invention, but pure practically it seems to me exactly what would make it work.
I dont want to sound rude or anything …but , for the gs to be viable (in pvp at least) it needs to hit much faster, cause atm u just cant hit any 1 because of the short range and how slow it is.
Second: i belive some swifness or teleport is needed , cause most likely u dont want to lose staff.Well you arent wrong but faster attacks are unlikely to happen (gs is afterall intended to be slow…).
So i would vote for swiftness or a teleport on gs3… if i could.
This is for comparison sake.
GS#1 does 22k DPS fullbuffs + other skills etc on golem rotation.
GS#2 does 27k DPS + 20% CtD bonus = 33k…..but “just the +gs#2 itself” is worth 27k.+
Many said this idea concept is not needed on ALL SKILLS to be slow. You should have a reliable auto since its already hard to stay melee. It doesnt need to 30k thief dps auto level, but it deserves a bit more + actualy giving some value to the chill effect.
Then, cz youre not gonna win your fight just with autoatacking outside of shroud, you go into your stronger mode – the #2 spam – which is slow and telegraphed.
The #2 also need an aftercast reduction, a decent range increase and possibly another cherry on top.
With offhand dagger you risk getting jumped and instakilled with zero lifeforce and no blindclear.
Lower/instant cast in favor of actual animated travel time.
Blast finisher.
Some lifeforce. Kinda hard, if its 2-5% per hit its useless in 1v1, OP in team or totally relliant on team scenarios. 5+1x per hit maybe, it cant be too close to focus either. Tho focus should also be improved

Most community considers the average skill level to be pvp>wvw>pve , with wvw being closer to pve.
As a pvp player who played in several AG tournaments with almost fixed teams, id say any such pvp player can easily adapt to the level fo coordination needed for raids. Even sucesfuly organizing and leading a pug group on TS.
Im also part of a dedicated 60man pvp guild, yet i dont raid eith any of my guildmates. Here are reasons
-there arent many pvp guilds
-there arent that many players that do both. Those that do usualy join a seperate pve guild for raids
-many pvp poeple dont even have gear
-the rarest, a pve raid player that is also good at pvp
So while overall a coordinated pvp player will be much better or rather learn faster in raids than an average lfg pug, there simply arent many pvp guilds to choose from.
The much more likely scenario is that you have a group of great pve players that also enjoy medium levels of pvp here and there.
Either take a seperate guild or try your luck with a big 500man pvx guild. Pvx guilds are 99% pve just as warning.
Because statistics is a science based on single digit samples.
No the Necro needs to get a grip on reality. If he was decent he wouldn’t be teamed with people that send 4 home and can’t figure out what to do. He needs to stop expecting to be carried through his matches and l2p or make a 5 man team, or even better find a new game. But odds are he can’t get 4 other people to play with him.

If those 3 bad clueless players won – in the 0.001% chance the necro was a 1v3 god – then 3x very bad players would have their MMR raised and the game would consider them closer to medium level.

Youre 99% missclicking. Probably lag or youre just panicking or defect button. Unholy sanctuary + a squishy build you can easily take a 10k burst and reflex activate shroud while the natural death proc already hapened – thus you exit with 130hp and instadie.
In wvw zergs you could take 30-40k dmg in 1 second, in PVP its impossible (full shroud like u said).
Its either engie or mesmer moa and its common tactic to moa a necro when he enters shroud.
Afaik theres only teleport,underground or invisible hackers in WvW. A 100 million dmg hacker in PVP is unheard of.

Yet you cannot even force him offnode with 2x wells and a 3-min elite. That is how high the defense creep against power dmg is.
Hitting a cleric amulet ele with protection? Left out to much information imo. Cause if it’s a cleric ele with protection up that’s expected imo. How much Vul did u have up on the target, did they have frost armor active was there some rando mesmer ranger eng nearby that had a guard utility active at any point, just to much stuff missing to convince me tbh.
Healbot is the slang term for cleric aura d/f ele yes.
I had 15x might and the vuln was around 5×. Its base not reaper but still 25x vuln is only a spike, its 10x otherwise.
The protection was normal 90% uptime as you can see a 2.5k crit every 1/998 shots, feel free to include that marginal dps increase and argue over the proven fact of an ele being able stay alive in it.
The frost aura was normal 50% uptime.
I think most of this was already mentioned or at least can be deduced.
Life blast is so slow. Base necro is still horrible. Stacking it up against an elite spec makes it look even worse.
Power Necro may suck intensely damage-wise. But it has incredible survivability for what its worth. That said, my base necro still kicks all the butt when it comes to Condi. I haven’t seen a reaper build that outright wins 1v1 against me. I admit that Reaper has better downed pressure, aoe and stab availability but I’ve guaranteed more downs as a base necro than Reaper. And guess which one definitely beats Mesmers more often than not?

A once deadly auto even in barbarian amulet can now be facetanked while in most offensive set possible. This is under ideal scenarios even, we 1v1 stood still and facetanked, no teamfight perma interupts or focus straight up countering projectiles for 50% immunity uptime….did i forgot to mention it can also facetank a full lich?
If you win against the current fotm 1v1 or other mainly condi reapers more often, just because the extra curses line gives you an extra passive transfer, that doesnt really make lifeblast any better does it?
Survivability is also pretty bad imo, but lets keep it on topic.
Its just the regular weekly demo of power creep, where you once could kill the top dawgs with a B-tier (top 15-20 ranked build) while now the top 9 meta ones are phzsicallz impossible to kill even with max glass canon.

Also, think about it, would i even think about being able to counter pressure anything beside a zero invested dmg cleric tempest? Like lets say scrapper or druid?

To anyone getting bored of unranked trash wanting to spice things up with some power necro……. DONT !
Check out my dps in 15x might, zerker + strength + 2x wells. That is the 15/30s that the guy isnt invurable, reflected, dodging, or me being CCed or instakilled.
And divide by 1.3 , since that is cast firerate of lifeblast.
The stupid stuff:
- precision strike , 5k+
- uncounterplayable assault + leech heal, usualy has it precharged, another 5k+
- swap sigils + staff 5 , another 5k+
- if they burst u low enough with above, they can auto+quickness you to death
Try to avoid as much of the big hits as possible, to avoid getting quickness farmed to death. Double dodge if necesary and immediately gain some range to avoid getting precision striked.
You just need to be lucky with an interupt not getting blinded or maybe he dodges away from you..
Unblockable interupt on the shield always helps, not for time but for not giving them 3second of free energy recharge.
IF youre power, youre heavily favored to lose. You can only get lucky with some last ditch suicide yolo shroud attack on him and hope he tanks it.
If youre condi, you need to survive the first 20seconds of his zero counterplay dodging around, with enough hp left. After that he will drop fast than you. Still watch and dont eat any of the big hits if possible.
2 tips of the day:
-corrupt the might and stab, be ready to stow corrupts if he uses twelveth dodge in a row
-load him with condies while he is using glint heal, especialy in the last half of it. The thing lasts for 3s and most poeple will intentionally tank during it. Put all 10s long condies on him, hell heal for 1s then die in next 9.
Rev is a sellout class.
1-2 hours of semi-tryhard duels against my warrior guildmate, hes challenger im like AG level.
Power necro i didnt do, but its clear loss. Just dont do it.
Power necro actually sucks sooo hard. It only works mehish with ele support 2v2 or in wvw against its average trash poeple. Anything with toughness or a brain is hardcounter.
The rest is for condi necro.
I was losing a lot so i switched builds a bit.
You need deathly chill, outsustaining with blightersboon will never work.
Your first 3x dodges need to be perfect. Dont random dodge in melee but absolutely dodge the burst skills.
Do 2 prayers for RNG corrupts.
Your killmove is rs5+4, use it after a dodged burst skill to condi pressure him.
For pure 1v1 i won 30-40%, hes a bit better, overall id give 40/60 in warris favor.
For Conquest, both can easily force a decap and id heavily suggest a 2v1 instead of rellying on the close matchup.
If its 2v1 id give necro advantage, it dies faster but it wins in 2v2, so its better overall.
That was against gs/ham power base warri, against condi berserker power necro its impossible. Condi vs condi necro wins majority, with some random oneshots one the warris side
TLDR
power is objectively trash. youre throwing with it.
Precision Strike is being increased to a 5.25s cool down.
Stop it, brokenant has recieved only nerf and nerfs since its launch.
Its now impossible to hold 2v1 more than a minute and if enemy has 3x condi users, its almost sure you wil get downed. Maybe twice.
As a support it also needs high midtier dps. Poeple only take 1x rev in a 10man group, meaning 1x class that isnt rev will have 2 spots. thats racist
If say anything more, youre a pvp elitist and deserve double infraction.
Right now the necro GS is wasted programming.
The fact that several patches have come since it’s introduction and NOTHING has been done to fix the GS tells you Anet either sees it as fine or doesn’t want to do anything about it.
Don’t hold your breath…Look how long Necro Axe was worthless with little to no changes for many years that made any difference. I would expect the same with the GS.
Even before it’s release, people in beta told them how clunky it was and how GS5 had so many flaws. It was obvious after just a few hours playing, but they rolled with it as-is anyway.
It’s a shame to waste that programming because the graphics and theme side of it were worthwhile.
Yea, like they even extra told us the gs#5 uses fancy new tech and was very hard to design and “make it function”.

I don’t know man, last time I played a power GS necro in pvp it was quite fun. It takes a bit of getting used to though. 5+2 is alright not guaranteed, but still doable since Grave digger can be used on the move. Though 5 and 3/4 combo well, nightfall hurts and blinds and the 3 builds up LF nicely while stacking vuln to synergies with Decimate Defenses assuming you take it over the other 2 traits.

Honestly, I think gs 2 is a perfect example of how the game should be. It is highly telegraphed and should deal heavy damage.
The fact that it can have an instant recharge means it is spammable, which if you added an evade to it then that would be bad game design
Its actually bad, 5+2 doesnt even combo itself. And 5/5 skill from GS are so clunky theyre buggy and miss 99%. its zero value.

The durations and stacks have never been affected by necros durations, its always been pure copypasta of what u see on enemy at that moment. What matters is necro condition damage as that will count as in necro put all the condies on source.
Aka for bounce on boss A, you can use a power necro spreading from A to target B, then condition necro spreading back from B to boss A. The condi necros condie on boss A will tick higher than those on a pleb target B.
Its same stuff were spamming for years,
But anet is balancing around beginer level players where thieves with bad builds die to necros with worse axe+greatsword builds, and both then laugh and hold hands while doing a dungeon.
That is their major target audience and were kept in check as a noobstomper proffesion and an outdated idealism of “we must feel green and slooow”

Condi mesmer is nr1 strongest build atm, and revant is sadly the 2nd most broken thing. It a zerker that can dodge as long as a half tank basically.
Even if it was power mesmer, that means it even easier that you got completely and utterly destroyed. A 100-0 is complety normal.
Your guildmate comment bothers me. Having 10k more hp means nothing in glass vs glass canon, u just die 3x autoatack later. In fact has always been easiest to focus because of bad to no escapes, instadie is part of necro life.
On 10k hp thief you instadie cz your glass and your reflex failed to port too slow. On 30k hp necro you know you will instadie 100-0 up to five seconds before it happens cz you know theres no way to get out of that bad spot/cc chain.
What matters here is dodging the burst coordinating your next cc and burst. Rev and mesmer both have about 15seconds of invuln dodge time before they run out, youll 99% wont last that long.
Skill and everything aside you were unlucky. You bumped into two best builds while being on a mediocre one. Its possible, but you would need to outplay them quite heavily to win.

Pardon for break time, i kinda wanted to write what above guys sad. Since you didnt say what mesmer it was ill try to sumarize both scenarios
A) power shatter mesmer
You got unexpectedly bursted for half your hp. You go into shroud to deal back pressure but mesmer kites you from range. You exit shroud and almost immediately or get interupted and bursted down to zero. Invulnerable stomped.
Your friend maybe ate some rezz cleave and then also lost to mesmer who still had invulnerable cds left
B) condi tank mesmer
An abomination that “regurarly” 1v2s even at tournament level top players so a 1v2 against two average wvw guys is almost expected.
He nukes you with condies, you only got suffer but you may not land many trnasfers with it, your heal get interupted as part of shater spam rotation. You have
a condibomb on you, your melee and mesmer is at range with tons of invulns ready. Your partner maybe tanked shatters with you and you both almost instadie or he dies in a slow sustain battle later anyways.
This is pointing out, why the build is considered trah at top tourny level. You damage is harder to land and requres set up, your defense also has range limit. Meta builds are basicaly overpowered with as much cheese as possible, aka easy to land damage while keeping as much defensive stats and active invulenrabilities as possible.
Player skill is also worth mentioning. If youre full glass zero toughness you absolutely need fast reflexes and kiting knowledge to simply avoid lots of dmg by feeling when to move back and when to go in. Greatsword on top is a clunky weapon which means results will be more “all or nothing” rather than “i still did something”.
The build is not trash, its perfectly fine for average level wvw fights. The same shouts are used for the top tourny builds cy theyre good, just keep the mechanical limit like range and transfering to invulnerable doesnt work in mind.
Condition is a lot easier to play but if you want to use your power gear, maybe add some minmal toughness, switch greatsword for dagger warhorn for more reliable results, and just be more careful.
So its basically what hollts has in his video…
The build is ultra trash for tournament level. GS is a joke to say least. But the lower you go, the worse your enemies are, the more likely it is they cant dodge and kite you properly, the more likely you can away with such a build.
Afaik the average wvwer, is also ultra trash with high chance of zero toughness PVE gear. Add a bit of lag and suddenly you can land your slow skills on most enemys.
This is just to give some perspective. I dont know how close to tournament level your guildmate is, and I also dont think hollts is trash as i enjoy his content and sometimes bump into him in pvp.
TLDR
at high levels GS is unviable trash, at lower-mid levels there isnt much difference between a GS or a regular condi build, what matters there more is how mid-tier your are and how low tier enemy is…
If youre asking what could go wrong…not much.
Its often been debated to try making -2% degen base and vitalpersist giving -0% degen or just only shroud CDs, to lower dependency on soulreaping line.
And mostly poeple agreed that the meta builds would still take Soul with that trait, so no powercreep to metabuilds. It would only cause like spite+curse+blood builds to have a bit more lifeforce.
Zero lifeforce degen wouldnt prevent getting kited and doing 0 dmg so for onslaught most power reapers would love not more dps but more chasing power, even with something as boring as halving the leaps CD , making it every 3seconds…
Onslaught gives faster atacks aka more dps and more chance to land slow cast + PVE exclusive scenario to recharge your 6second leap…. dps and more leaps in pve
You suggested extra lifeforce added to that trait.
Im saying thats weird since BlighterBoon already is similirarly effective at that in PVP.
The goal is not to have 3x traits all giving +20% lifeforce, but to have a sustain, condi and power dps trait , so each has its flavor. They can also be all overpowered since they compete against each other.
So i dont see point of adding sustain to a dps trait, id rather focus on its unconsitent leap feature for example. Also lower degen should be in soul reaping, with maybe buff to base to make dependence on vital persistance smaller.

So the answer is simple, around 20% more lifeforce. Can be 10-40%.
And youre trading that for potential 5-10k normal hp heals and 10-20% lifeforce depenging on how much might u get from signets, siphoned power and chilling victory.
So the lifeforce gains are pretty similiar, youre almost just trading the 10k heals for +15% dps in shroud. Tho only problem is blighters boon is true to its joking name and its pigeonholes you into spite cz necro is not allowed to synergize with anything.
It’s only awkward if you make it awkward. I felt the commentators weren’t prepared and didn’t handle it accordingly. They should have acknowledge his point of view and simply gone with it. Perhaps even prying for other relevant league questions that pertained to Argi’s point of view.

The dire/knight/soldier combo of toughness + vitality is just too strong. Its pure math of EHP and why every wvw roaming and zerging build is using those.
Im aware that eles&other low hp classes have trouble with no celestial amulet, but pvp felt more balanced and fun to play against when builds had pros AND cons.
So id rather see the balance team do some work (ex. brokenant finally ungoded and a zerker thief with vitality runes suddenly sounds viable)
ALL toughness+vitality minors MUST BE DELETED.
Theyre just disgusting to play against, ultra OP….pretty much all WvW roaming builds used dire/knights and zergs soldier since its pure math most effective.
Id also remove all 4stat amulets, theyre still waay stronger than the normal counterparts, even marauder. Yes even marauder and then ele/thief/guard are forced into a vitality rune but it help a lot with lowering the powercreep.
Compared to pre 3x traitline builds – the current metabuilds feel like all pros no cons, low vitality used to be a thing, now its 15-20second of invulns and resistance + fullheals from 1 support.
Theres minmal difference between exotic viper and ascended, so you could just go exotic viper for trinkets…some sinister trinkets are also ok
