Make ascended zerker and buy exotic viper. The difference in zerker is bigger direct dmg stats scale better while the difference on the condi side is much smaller between exo and asc.

Power damage has too much counterplay for eneemy, often passive.
Just do 5 things of the 100 complains you always hear and call it a 3month balance patch.

well i didnt think of the 2 necro scenario. a, i was mostly looking for sensible buff on a weak component. b, 99% of balance is spvp where in tournaments you cant stack classes and c, the same bad design is already hapening so i kinda overlooked it or rather i think theres other bigger flaws with us…..

Id ignore it and say its players own fault for stacking a non stacking buff.
There is plenty of effects, auras, boons etc, that you do not want to stack and that are completely wasted or even overwritten by a worse one…

Lifesteal is always balanced – Anet knows “Average ammount of hits or hits per second” that happen. So we have
A = necro basic lifesteal
B = trait which adds on top for necro, but only B for allies
So necro alone has to be balanced FOR MAX CASE A+B I propose:
A = combined value lifesteal for necro
B = trait which makes A —> AOE aura for allies
It makes sense logically, easier to balance 1 value than always having to dream of both, and lifesteal and any necro healing or support is pretty low.
TLDR
A combined stronger VAMPIRIC for necro.

its the way the designed it. There are some certain combinations of signets where i could see a serious problem combined with other traits for health regen and shroud regen.

with magi amulet we would reach a whole third of what others have with real invulnerabitiies.
If rev can exist, theres no reason for the redlights and self punish design we get.
It doesnt really matter as it a repeatable reward track.
It also is a neglectible difference as theyre all in the 15-20x per game zone. Iproving your gameplay to win will net more shards, than wondering why you got 20+15 rather than 15+20
Another argument that may cheer you up:
A duo can only win 1 node at a time. You choose either coordinated focus vs coordinated map rotation. A trio is needed to dominate 2/3 of map.

The esport pros have to organize skrims to compete for money.
The high mid end now has incentive to play and improve. EVERY TEAM STARTS WITH A DUO OR TRIO. The ammount of friend requests, poeple actualy grouping AND tryharding has increased enormously.
All this positives faaaaar outweight “the overall 3% higher winrate per teammate that anet once mentioned”.

But i didnt see the part where your total damage is split into how much was condition and how much power.

OK, idk what it is but I had an absolute blast with this yesterday.
-You can self generate lifefore AND BOTH swap procs pre fight
-You can burst from 1200 with only 2 actions , you dont miss the chill bleed dps loss
-You win every transfer battle
-You can somewhat run/kite and sustain with a 20s consume
-Combine above with a 15s burst cooldown
-Plague, i still forget to troll with it, it really wastes 2v1 attempts
-You got enough corrupts to get resistance of from warriors
-Thiefs die to the autoproc and you till have an instant active, if you land both BIP which are 13s apart, gg
Basically it feels like it doesnt have much counterplay like the regular builds which often require a melee stillstander, this thing kills from range, from start with no ramp up, and has autoprocs.

i think best way to describe it is procmancer is more ranged.
If youre 1v1 on point, and have enemy who allows you just a few shroud 1s, then you can easily outdmage anyone with dhuumfire. I forgot how strong it is while watching a guildie duel, a few dhuumfires and it made enemy blow soo much for just a few autos.
But if you get kited or instabursted in teamfights, you might as not focus your dps and vital persist to make u live 5s instead of 4.
If you can live without the staff cleanse,
take axe. Youll have 2 decent RANGED offensive weaponsets, both with boonrip and if something jumps you then you go melee shroud – and like name suggests the sigil and trait procs alone can make poeple back off
You could have permanent pulsing foot in the grave and youll still die to focus fire.
Were in times of post HOT powercreepocalypse, i wrote a parody of what GS#2 were if it were revenant staff#5 to a whiner – and it actually sounds normaly playable.

My main concern is the split philosophy that was mentioned:
They said we can expect number tweaks if we want a skill split.
This should be great clearance to allow higher DPS in PVE.
But for PVP,
we have bigger problems. A lot of skillsets are clunky and disfunctional on a game engine level, a lot of traits and effects still dont work with our proffesion mechanic, and whenever a wish idea is posted – it is 9 / 10 times a total funcionality change of a skill to simply make combos and combat flow smoother.
So TLDR
Anet wants to keep working snail pace of 3 months of internal manager meetings to make a number tweak, while the fixes we need are the most long work hour animation and even funcionality redesign ones
As for what youre asking, the thing works normaly and correctly.
Each hit will have own chance to crit.
If you go into shroud with crit trait, you can always make all hits 100% crit. Its also only way to speed up break the aftercast
Focus #4 -Reapers touch- probems are that it is not a copy mesmer GS #2.
-semi long cast +huge unneeded aftercast for a melee burst skill
-UNRELIABLE ON A GAME ENGINE LEVEL
it is NOT homing, wiki is wrong
it is a HOVERING PROJECTILE, meaning it get all negative effects of projectile despite not listed + it get random obstructed by pebbles AND it CANNOT FLY OVER STAIRS TERRAIN.

The mesmer mirror blade is a great example of a “pretty much unavoidable skill”.
By that i mean you cannot cheese a sidestep to make it miss, the skill WILL HIT WHEN IT SHOULD and even the spawned clone allows constant value bounces.
The only thing good about it is, it has a cool added scyhe animation like our staff1.
the changes are limited to the following areas:
- Recharge
- Damage multipliers
- Healing multipliers
- Number of conditions/boons applied
- Duration of conditions/boons applied
- Skill cost (energy and initiative)

I am surprised the sword#2 got such a nerf but staff was epitome of stupid HOT design of big procs with no counterplay.

Although I’d really suggest including a Power-Based movement rune and a Condi-Based movement rune while still keeping an eye on movement runesets (I do HEAVILY welcome more Movement Runesets for all gamemodes)
Suggestions:
Rune of the Tiger – Power-main Movement Bonus Runeset
- 175 Power, 100 Precision (or ferocity), +25% Movement speed
Rune of the Lynx – Condition-main Movement Bonus Runeset
- 175 Condition, 100 Expertise, +25% Movement speed
those 2 are the “one rune to rule them all” type.
Beside boon duration reliant builds there would be absolutely zero reason to consider any other of the hundred or so runes.
Just as example, a theorycrafting candidate for slow GS power necro is a swiftness on heal rune. The price for perma swiftness is 1 heal, 1 trait, probably the group of skills you picked the trait from, the rune itself has a non worth mentioning secondary effect + whatever effect or modifier youre missing from other runes.
Thats the fun in making builds

-enemy visibly stealthing at 2000 range, just change direction for 3s….he has to either admit wasting an opener or greedily use 2-3 extra cooldowns just to reach me in time
-classic jumping or pretending youre backing off the node
-standing on edges or platforms to give meleers a hard time dodging around you
-predicting melee vs ranged paterns, so if i want to melee i first run to make him waste gap closer, then use my own.
-being good with timings, so you land a big long cast right after enemies block ends
-going to church every sunday so you corrupt the right boons
The problem with procmancer is that the shroud proc corrupts occur at the necro’s location, which means to use it you have to brawl. And brawling with that glassy of a necro build is not a good idea without tempest support.
The main thing is the meh feeling of staff poeple have been having. First it was power hipsters who said at this point theyd take axe over it (thats all pre axe buff), and now im even looking at taking the axe on a carrion build.
-theres no more 5k dmg on staff#3 to abuse hide and seek style
-so we cant safely 1320 range, were forced into 900-600 anyway
- a/f gives enough lifeforce, which ties with droping soulreaping and shifting away from good but unreliable 1-spam in shroud
-staff is just slow and too much % of its kit gets eaten by random blinds or interupts
-power dmg matters currently, most builds are zero toughness you usually end up 2:1 for power dmg on carrion, even on the precision amulets its a 1:1 ratio
Im not saying you dont instadie even with 30k hp, its just the survivability is same if not best among the necro choices we get and it has lots of instant counterpressure.
The playstyle is also flexible and feels fresh having 2 “viable” weaponsets.

Only in low level PvP. You will lose every 1v1 (which happen frequently in solo Q) against an opponent who knows how to dodge or block your 10 second cooldown proc burst. Between these bursts you are extremely vulnerable and super easy kiteable in shroud as it drains fast. It is a pure team fighting build.
It has easy-to-use and frequent AOE boon corruption and very good sustain as well.
This build has the lowest possible sustain necro can offer. Not one single defensive traitline.
If you think this build has good sustain you never fought competent opponents.
Ive been bored of gw2 last half year and i missed out on the pro tourny meta being full glass with bloodmagic.
But as far as ive soloqed once every two weeks, ive randomly stumbled on the exact same thing. Not curses over soul which pretty much everyone be it power or condi uses, but even adventure runes
I dont think my MMR plumited into anything is viable level as im still meeting same old names.
Basically i think it is the new meta build.
3rd utility is a flex pick, and its a very effective build for the majority as well as veterans to squeeze extra juice out of it.

Imagine being the only class ingame which gets extra punished for respawn in PVP.
Think its about 23% lifeforce that always get reduced because of how coded armor loading is.
So wanna try comeback after you died and enemy has map control? Better pay 23silver just to walk out of spawn ????

2) Clunky and unreliable.
It doesnt home like mesmer GS#2, even tho wiki says so, it doesnt fly but it hovers and gets stuck, yet it is the exact same bouncing skill.
The medium long cast also often makes the skill fail and go full CD, because you tried to use it in intended melee but enemy moved behind your facing.
3) All bounces need to hit in order to get some worth out of it.
A single blind,block or pebble often decreases the intended value.
4) The regen boon is arguably lame
The only poeple who can play focus at all are veterans who instead of fighting enemy know how to fight game engine in order to make their own skill fail less often.
Main big skill is a boon remove – its a PVP centric weapon yet its never been used outside of PVE

You two are using flawed logic or maybe just missinterpeting things.
a) Lifeforce = harder to kill
If you have focused ANY other class to half hp and half cooldowns, THEN a full shroud necro enters fight ….. YOU STILL SHIFT FOCUS AND KILL THE NECRO others can randomly escape or live too long, necro is guaranteed kill in next few seconds.
Generally, you ALWAYS take a fast kill and +1 from there, not focusing the threat/build counter. Thats why you switch focus to support healbot ele in middle, and whoever blows too much defense gets ganked in next 5 seconds. Not relentlessly focus on enemy dps just cz they can do damage.
b) Danger from range
Its a lost art, there is no more range kiting in gw2.
You could kite on flat terrain with cripples, but its irrelevant now. Perma resistance, low CD ports, leaps ignoring cripple….
Its all about LOS and teleport up terrain kiting now.
c) Danger from range pt2
Its not even a ranged threat, it loses pretty muich all ranged standoffs. Sooner or later the necro requires a stillstanding dummy to go melee on. Its still a hybrid who must hover around 600 range to be effective
I see. so devs just ignore the fact that necros are horrible in high compettion gotcha!
Its more soloq oriented problems
- its harder to 2v1 kill or run away alive from 2v1 wihtout invuln or mobility, even enemie is bad enough to deserve getting 1v2d.
- so either teamfight and hope the enemie is stupid and doesnt focus you + your team is smart and support you
- or you as best player, get to 1v1 their best player + hopefully you win your 1v1 before your bad team loses their teamfight, cz look at first point

Nothing should they learn from overwatch. It are 2 different games, if you like overwatch this much you should play there instead of asking Anet to make a clone of overwatch. Reading the competitive forum from Overwatch, bah it’s seems gw2 pvp mode is not that bad at all.
The forums and general feel are ultra worse because gw2 is 5v5 conques, where you can carry to some extent. OW is more a push-pull type where you can lose the whole match in one instant.
Also the meta roles are more fixed, in gw2 everything from 4bruiser 1dps to 5dps can work….in OW you can have someone being literally useless if he misses his job, and dies in 2 seconds, in gw2 a braindead bunker will make a 2v1 already almost impossible to do consistently.
But that is how the game works, were talking about how devs do BALANCE.
a) Blizzard is normal fast and Anet is deadsnail slooooooow.
Hotfixes in 7 days max, and about once a month you get decent changes which are as impactfull as Anet 3month patches.
b) OW is being balanced for TOP TIER.
Any autoplay AI or bastion turrets are regarded as L2P. example the AI hero got greatly buffed recently, despite him being dominant on low tiers and console peasants.
At Anet we bow to the new player experience.
Thats lore > gameplay , ex. necro must feel slow even tho everything else that is clunky gets fixed.

yea but it lasts longer and has fever bigger stacks. The new dodge counterplay aside, theres no way a player wouldnt land 6x hits in 15s to get full 5k heal and 5k dmg out of it.
The issue with removing the ICD on the active is not the spike healing, but the spike damage. For example, that adds 3,375 armor-and-protection ignoring damage to Life Siphon with 10 Might, Hoelbrak runes, and a Demolisher’s or Paladin’s amulet. 4,500 to Soul Spiral.
It seems on same level as rev.
Ive personally always despised brokenant, but it looks like were stuck with the power creep and it is slowly calming down.
So i wouldnt mind the abilities, the necro one without CD is better, but it has a shorter timeframe, and requires a uninterupted necro for 4 seconds, compared to unavoidable evasion brilliance that is rev sword3.
And if in some parallel universe leak the signets start to actually work in shroud, you maybe wouldnt instantly spam it at full hp for the corupt+damage.

You can and SHOULD still play match, if youre having fun. If youre testing a build you especially want experience.
But if youre strictly grinding pips – then i just explained you wont get it. And if youre feeling tortured by the teammates on top, youre morally free to end the torture sooner.
Its more perception problem than numbers. The 1v5premade happened less than 1% of matches, and you didnt even lose 100% of those 1% cases cz they were often bad pves on guild missions – yet poeple still viewed this as an impossible hurdle.
