I’m in the same boat. Not going to reinstall this game until we can craft our precursors.
There’s no way in hell I’m using the mystic forge again after I put 200g into it, and there’s no way on gods green earth that I’m gonna spend 700+ gold on one either from the TP.
Flipping insanity.
All we wanted was to be able to craft precursors. Nobody asked for ascended weapons! There’s no way I’m gonna craft something that ugly ANET. No chance, and I’m not jumping through which hoops you tell me to in order to craft this awful looking ascended greatsword.
pretty much, I wont even bother crafting an ascended weapons because;
first I just want the looks, ascended Greatsword is “ok”, but compared to other GS swords and considering how expensive and long it takes to craft one Im slightly disappointed
secondly; I want Sunrise, nothing more, nothing less, wont bother getting anythign aesthetically and personally stats matter little to me past having all exotics.

As I eagerly started to watch the stream I couldnt help but wonder what newly materials were being introduced. With the newly added 500 crafting you could only wonder if maybe, just maybe AT LAST precursor could be crafted!
To my bitter surprise no mentions of it during the ascended crafting walkthrough, but I feared not! I still hoped that maybe on the next part; legendaries, the wonderful news would be given! A big annoucement on PAX, what else but the pinnacle of beautifully crafted weapons which we call Legendaries, nothing else but craftable precursors could be the major highlight!
Oddly enough, no mention of it during the legendaries. By now my hopes were starting to feel betrayed, how could something so important pass someone’s mind? Then it hit me; best for last!!
So i kept watching, and watching, and watching and watching.
“Do you have any questions?”
With a knot in my throat and a tear nearing my eyes, I faintly type on the chat;
“….but, what about craftable precursors?”
And there she stood, like a loving and caring mother whose 5 years old had just asked “Mom, whats the meaning of life?” There, perplexed as if it was a new topic, as an adult who still hasnt found their own meaning she answered;
“Earlier this year we mentioned craftable precursors, I dont know much bout it but it is not coming anytime soon”
And thus my hopes to craft the only thing that kept me playing this game vanished, having spent over 12 months and several hours/gold into getting through the vile and corrupted Zommoros. There he stood, watching me with sadistic pleasure as I convert yellows into yellow and orange into what seemed greens.
Good job ArenaNet team, a small disappointment to say the least.

Seriously? Are we THAT good? Even had to deal with a dev saying eles are ok and there are things just :holding them down" gfrom being roflstomp OP…… do they even play staff? Do they even know focus is a weapon we can use?!

^ There are many more examples I could give on how good that build is for PvE dungeons and group content but the limit is harsh on me :/, so all I want to leave is that AH is amazing tool in group content, with the 20% 2H weapon CD you get to do all these stuff that gives boons (GS #4, Staff #3 and #4) more often and get even more healing. I cant emphasize how awesome perma vigor is, like seriously, it gives so much healing and 10% damage increase! The DPS is above decent into high since you can have around 110% crit increase and ~45% crit chance, enough power to make it hit like a truck.
Of course this doesnt work very well vs players as this is more of a DPS team oriented build focused in dungeons and open world events, but I have succesfully used it with valkyry and knight which gives about a just slightly less DPS but incredible survivability

SAY WHAT?!?!?!? Ok, you seem to be pretty uninformed, so let me teach you a little in the ways of the guardian; guardian have a lot of synergy with traits and their damage doesnt come from burst, but rather from long DPS and enhancing the DPS and survival of allies which on the long run make up for even greater DPS.
If you want big numbers sure you could throw a sword and go 30 into radiance and if you want scepter you could throw 20 into zeal, but you would be giving up a lot of survival and boons for some mere extra damage which is not worh it at the end.
Here, let me show you how skilled and smart guardians go around this build; It is all about synergy:
As you probably [hopefully] know, Altruistic Healing heals you a small amount for each individual boon you apply (meaning 3 might stacks = 3 independent heals), a lot of the survival comes from timing these with some effects, example, in this build, F1 applies blind to nearby foes as well as 3 might stacks to all allies, that means a total of 15 boons, plus a blind. If you are dumbly using it everytime available you are wasting healing and defensive debffs. This build isnt about soaking damage, but rather negating it all together, or healing it off. Honor gives you vigor on crits, you can literally have perma vigor which means you get an AoE heal on a 1:1 healing ration (you have 300 already from Honor) everytime you roll, not only that, when endurance is low you get a flipping 10% damage increase, so you are encouraged to roll, A LOT.
Pure of Voice is not only condition cleansing, but also CONDITION CONVERTION, and if that wasnt enough it applies party wide, with double effect on you. Here, let me show you how important this is; in TA there are these plants which apply a stacking poison cloud, poison increases in duration, so what do you do? You pop a shout and all that poison duration gets convered to….wait for it…. regeneration (with a converted duration based on remaining poison duration), so not only did you take away the debuff, but also applied a long lasting regen.
Valor gives you 300 toughness, coupled with Honor’s 300 vitality and 300 healing power your effective health goes up by a LOT, and if that wasnt enough, toughness is converted into precision thanks to Valor which translate to more critical chance, aka more vigor and more healing and dodge defense.
They all synergy perfectly, it is what I used to beat Liadri, her fumble and cripples were converted into Vigor AND swiftness, which is like the most totally awesome buffs agaisnt her.

Now that you cant get “extra” rewards in dungeons by playing alts, why do we still have to do story on EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. ? I understand that before it was a way to keep in check people with too many alts, but as someone who is now getting quite the few alts myself, i find that finding groups for story, specially for some less popular dungeons can be hard, specially when you have 4+ alts……..
I think we should get rid of it since this only discourages alts and that is very important to an MMO! Im not doing it for extra rewards, but some times i wanna run a dungeon as an ele, some other time as a guardian and maybe later as a mesmer, i have to rely on others for the story, and funny enough (and sadly too) I once did a pug group in which we stood around for about 10 minutes without saying much only to realize NO ONE had story on the chars, meaning someone would have to either log onto a diffeeent char or leave to make space for someone with story, and thats just wrong.
Anet, please stop punishing creation of alts! If the rewards are account bound then so should be the limitations! I hope this is just an overlook on your part!

Basically 7-8 out of 10 threads on the front page are about gear progressions, ascended, blah blah ascended, blah blah gear, blah blah….
Please merge them all regardless of their stance on the topic (including this one if it ever were to be bumped by someone). It clutters the front page and since many of us arent interested in the topic it just make us open and close the subforum.
Yes, I recognize the irony of this thread, but I think that after so many days going on about the same dann thing over and over and over and over again I have grown tired of it.

Am I the only one who actually like big clusters of skills with shiny effects and stuff?
Other than tagging enemies I dont mind it at all, in fact, if Anet could give an option tab enemy players only (no pets, summons , phatasms, except clones which are core to mesmers) in PvP and in PvE to tab first Champions followed by Veterans and then the ads then I would not have any issues.
The thing I care less in a big fight is how pretty I look.
Sure it’s fun for the brainless ranged DPS. My thief that’s trying to apply backstabs on the boss and dodge his big attacks is annoyed though.
but I play a melee guardian and I absolutely love it :/, all that flashiness makes me feel like friendly fire is on and I can withstand it all, LIKE A BOSS!

@Harbinger, I already do that, I stand right inside them. Problem is that even then the damage is kinda low, people can walk out of it due to 20% slow on movement speed debuff said skill give us. I would also appreciate if 100b wasnt brough here either, 100b first 2-3 hits will out damage WW by a lot, if they can land a full combo it will kill anyone but tanks, a perfectly landed WW will do “decent” damage…..at most…

What’s wrong with selfless daring?
It’s 129 heal on dodge roll with a 0.5 Healing Power coefficient.
For any build not using a Healing Power gear (pretty much needed in order to deal “decent” damage), that’s going to be 280 heal on dodge roll at best.Why do you need to avoid healing power to do decent damage? Ask a few eles how it works.
Apples to apples. Eles have high base damage, do condi as well as direct damage, also their heal roll is about 1304 (.5 healing power) bigger AoE and heals a condition once every 10 seconds, in those 10 seconds the guardian will not be able to put that much healing considering the base 129(.5) , it would need 10 dodges in 10 seconds to match the healing, then comes the condition clearing, nothing to compare there brah, if anything it backshot on you.
But then again, why are they being compared? A D/D ele will heal almost ful health while doing incredible damage while a guardian can barely heal one fourth his health unless he has AH while still not being able to deal enough damage to kill most people. The point of this thread is about DPS guardian, not healing support guardian. Selfless daring is ok, if anything it needs help in PvP, damage is not.

Nerf selfless daring more, until it is on the level with other professions (essentially) passive heals, then maybe we could talk about guards doing damage on par with other professions. That seems reasonable yeah?
you mean you didnt know that it got its effects nerfed a couple of months ago by half? It got its healing nerfed by half, with a base of 129 healing I think that skill has been butchered enough already, so no.

I think it is time to buff this skill a little bit. At some point I remember that it got a 25% damage nerf which really hurt guardians. At that time they were complete monsters with some hp and healing back then was also 1:1 ratio on many skills like the dodge heal.
While guardians havent been nerfed so much anymore, and ever since then the other classes has been severally buffed (looking at warriors, necros, rangers bunkers, thieves got some too) which creeped the powerlevel of other classes but left the guardian not only with diminushed damage, but less base hp, less [boon duration, less burst potential
As a support guardians are still amazing, but as damage dealers they are lacking a bit, specially since it is so easy to outrun them and they now have to give up A LOT of survivability in order to attain some acceptable DPS.
I believe a good step towards bringing guardians DPS on par with others is raising its most popular weapon’s damage; the Greatsword.

This is a very popular build in PvE, works wonders in dungeons, doesnt work too much in big zergs in WvW but in small skirmishes it is really strong
I adopted it because of how well self sustain you are while providing condition convertions while pumping insane damage!
basically it is 0/5/30/30/5 focusing on Pure of Voice for conditions to boons convertions and AH for self healing, full zerker gear with some valkiry or knight as needed, personally I run it with some knight armor and valkiry weapons with full zerker trinkets.
pretty much 1 out of 2 hits are crits and they hit really high, survivability comes from the 1:1 healing power of the dodges and perma vigor, coupled with AH proccing from pretty much EVERYTHING you do.
Hope it helps, for some more WvW focused builds I think soldiers with more into x/x/x/30/20-+ but that isnt my field.

Poorly designed poll, will get a lot of PvE and for a good reason; there are too many PvE stuff;
you got:

>guild missions
>open world exploration
>Jp
>Living stories
>FoTM
>World Bosses
Whereas PvP only have ranked and hot joined. WvW is pretty much one; you do it cuz you like zergs or because you want badges/map completition.
You see, a better thread would have been splitting PvE into at least 5 categories

I dont like the subcommander/commander thing. Human nature at hand, it will be total chaos. People already paid 100 gold for the tittle, it makes them feel important and some people got it exclusively because of how “important” they sound and how people follow them. Some of us have never used it on WvW and use it exclusively in PvE (like me, have had it for 3 months and never used it once in WvW). Now you are taking away their importance and having to submit to someone else.
Here is where the real problem comes; you want only 1 supreme commander? How is it decided?;
Gold? Well, then people wil complain that they already spent 100 gold, thats a lot for many, you would only be giving an advantage to farmers and tp flippers, which I can bet you have near 0 WvW experience
WXP? Many people have alts, wxp isnt shared, this would be a good candidate, but it would have to be account bound, not souldbound, which would now bring the problem of having a random new guy who nobody knows commanding everyone, and that person would have to validate his name everytime.
Money (gems) GOes back to the people with a lot of $$ or time, neither usually have WvW experience and tend to have a big ego.
Popularity? People paying big guilds for “support”, people in big guilds themselves would have an advantage. Once again, neither is tied to WvW experience.
After all that comes the second issue, how is it decided who is the supreme commander? You will have people fighting on who should it be, and if they dont get it they might as well just fool around or grief in order to make the other look bad.
You cant have a random person command people who already think of themselves as worthy enough. It wont work, sorry, human nature, heck, I admit if I ever where to pop my commander tag at WvW I better get ALL benefices since those 100 gold didnt come easy and are soulbound to a character I dont use anymore.
How could it work? As you unlock more WXP you can change your commander tag evolves, that way it is souldbound, people know who it is, everything is based on how much WvW experience you have and no unfairness for anyone.

Wrong forum so prepare to have it moved to that other dead-zone called wvw subforum. Anyways, I agree with you. Currently WvW is going through a phase of experimentation (i hope) and they are still sorting out the thing that sets this game apart from other (or was before LS updates every 2 weeks) so Im hoping eventually it will be that way. I dont even bother with WvW because tbh it is not my thing; it is a PvP zone in which you have to pay repairs like if you were in a PvE zone, except that if you are expected to do your job well then you would die a lot less. Gold gains there are abysmal and for someone who is doing upgrades and buying stuff/repairing this is an absolute nightmare to the point that you go negative sometimes. The running distances are still too long and after the 5th run I just dont feel like playing Guild of Runners 2, lastly and most importantly, the PvP balance aspect of it;
classes are so inherently unbalanced that going in small groups not only is it unprofitable but extremely risky since thieves warriors and rangers (among other classes.)are a problem which plagues balance.
Until those issues arent fixed I wont even bother going there, I do more profit in 15 minute dungeon run than an entire 3 hours of running around

Im sitting on almost everything but 100 of each t6 mats and precursor, I have been at it for 12 FREAKING MONTHS!, I dont farm, i dont flip, I find doing the same activity more than 2-3 times to be EXTREMELY BORING AND BURNS ME OUT, Anet needs to sort out the drops of crystaline dust mostly, making it salvagable from ectos only increase the problem because now the prices of ectos go even higher! It took me about 5 months to GATHER 250 ectos, it was PAINFUL, very painful, there has to be an easier way to do this other than flipping tp, which increases the economy problem.
Im definitely down for that, also to put some restrictions to how many items you can sell/buy a week such a way we can tone down the amount of items and gold a flipper does, because all they do is increase the price of stuff and sink needed gold that is hard to come for legit and honest players like me.

A royal pain considering that I want to craft Sunrise and Bifrost and 2 characters that I use equally that can use Bifrost and 2 that uses Sunrise, so sad :C, it has taken me 12 months to get to this point, havent completed even one but im so close, I cant imagine myself doing this for another 5 years just to give them the same skins :C

You want to get the chocolate cake without paying for it, which leaves all of us which DID pay and did the lane to buy it to be like “what?!” I like your idea but you have to give up something for it. Anet will never implement this in the current proposed way and I will support that decision. You have to give up something in order to receive something else.

@Fortus, what you may have missed during your rambling comments and half formed ideas, is that this thread is not a complaint, it’s a way for Anet to give crafters a place in the community, while also taking the obnoxious requirement of crafting out of the equation for people that do not enjoy it.
They have implemented several ways to attain gear so that multiple play styles can access the same items. This is the reason that people are upset. Because the current situation is an A or B problem.

B. RNGNobody is whining and complaining… Except possibly yourself. Nobody is saying that crafting is difficult, the very idea that it would be is laughable. They’re saying that the core principle of the game is to play how you want.
As to your other nonsensical comments, farming is dead? L2p bud, not only is farming not dead, it’s being developed and facilitated by Anet.

Well certainly I did misread the original post but I noticed a very stingy tone off you. When did I said farming was dead? I said CoF farming is dead, so l2read, bud. Im well aware Anet is encouraging farming (scarlet, which is what Im doing).
But I still dont understand your thread point, basically you want something that lets you bypass the crafting process for free? Because basically what you want is “I get the mats, I craft what I exactly want”which is like saying that all of us got crafting maxed we did it because we enjoyed it rather than just to craft those last stuff you can do with the profession.
Now that we settle that it cannot be for free then comes the question of how much would you be willing to pay for it such that it does not stomp on those of us which DID craft in order to be able t get those last stuff (400) you could do? It cant be made cheaper than maxing crafting, so basically you have to be paying convenience, I would be ok with anything above 15 gold and can only be used once per item.

I seriously dont know what so many have against crafting, no, like seriously….
Usually Im the one whining and complaining in the forum about stuff, but they are make or break stuff like class balance, functional stuff which have not so much aesthetic value. But crafting? I have NEVER crafted in my MMO life, thats around 10 years of experience, yet I picked up crafting easily here, followed a guide, didnt take me more than 2 hours, thats right, you read correct, les than 2 hours, no scrolls nothing, just got the stuff I needed, opened a crafting guide and voila.
If you dont want to craft then ok, just buy the weapon/farm it at bosses, but I swear it wont take you more than the gold you would save by directly buying the weapon and definitely a LOT less time than opening a crafting tab on whatever browser you use, 10 gold and voila.
All this ascended deal sound to me like; “WAAAHHH I dont want to do anything but farm [now extinct] COF/zerg WvW and receive it all!!!” Please guys, Appreciate what Anet is trying to do now; make people try different parts of the game, involve in the game. I would also like to spend my entire day just walking around Caleddon Forest or Sparkfly and do all JP and sit at the best spots and talk to people, but if you want something you have to give up something, it is even in the eternal alchemy!

That being said, I’m absolutely ok farming for items;
This being the prime example of what Im talking about, Im also used to farm things, but I have grown fond of JPs, what do I get at mostwhen I do them? A couple blues, maybe a green and some useless crest, usually a soldier one. Now Jps are something Im rewarding for doing. Balthazar, I have had to rely on Borlis pass for the last 2 times to get it open (props to you Borlis!), now that, as well as meta events are something you might benefice. Also, remember doing WVW bosses give you crafting stuff AS WELL AS A CHANCE TO GET AN ASCENDED WEAPON OF YOU STAT’S CHOICE!

I was majorly disappointed when I heard that now blues and greens cahnces to drop magic find is based on exotic chance of salvage kit, which the $10 salvage kit which I bought has only 10%. It is like giving me unlimited copper gathering tools.
Could we please consider raising the magic find (or exotic chance or w/e its name) to match that of master, I mean, it already costs money in game and outside, please Anet look into it!

then make it so that it cant be used inside dungeons and fractals, im very ok with that, but for everything else , specifically PvE it should. For convenience mostly. I do understand the reasoning behind it for dungeons and either way I always keep my guardian dungeon traited 90% of the time, but once Im out and alone it i need to retrait, i take easily an entire minute to load LA, sometimes even more, then comes the walking, its either paying to port there directly and add to expense on top of time, or go free and walk a mile and wait even more loading screens.
Even if I get charged allmost the same as if I were to port next to it on LA and buy it, I just want to be able to do it on the fly

I believe it needs an overhaul for PVE, small one but I think it should work like PvP. I dont care about the cost, for all I care you can make it twice as expensive (dont) but the fact that my slow PC cant handle the screens, and more importantly that most of the time I want to simply change my traits and stuff around but instead I have to leave instance/fractal/dungeon/scarlet instance and face loading screens just to talk to someone and head back, is just a bother.
I didnt think the PvP hot-join would be implemented outside PvP since requesting it would be laziness but since that was done I think I dont need to be shy about it, please, could we get retraiting and (maybe templates later on) when we get out of combat?
Thoughts on this? Fixes, possible issues?

I dunno maybe just to see when the largest portion of your guild members play to make it easier for scheduling events without having to ask each member what times they frequently play. Maybe you have a friend in the guild whom you have not seen for a time that is unusual for them and it will trigger you to contact them in some manner. It’s all hypotheticals at this point really, and I realize that by you asking me to name other situations where it is not potentially abusive you are trying to make a point that it only has negative potential but again that is projecting intent. Because you or I can’t possibly think of all the reasons someone could use this does not make the reasons bad. The reality is YOU don’t like it, and don’t think anyone could ever use it for a positive reason (most likely because of your experience with being kicked from a guild) and that is fine it is your right to feel that way, but it is not a very compelling argument to use against having a tool that someone can find a use for.
But you see, unless Im provided with “positive” feedback on a possible good way that does not involve the kicking issue then there is no reason for me to believe otherwise. The OP didnt say the reason in the original post but did reveal his true intentions were to enforce the 100% rep, so I can only see malicious intent from him, even if he doesnt see it as malicious, but enforcing 10% vs someone who doesnt want to and who supposedly was promised by Anet that they could be in multiple guilds do believe so.
You said about not having to ask one by one whats the best time, do you think having the last time someone logged in is good? Well, it isnt, it only tells you the last time they logged in, thats it, it doesnt tell you for how long and how often, therefore it cant be used for that. Want to know the true solution to that? Make it like youtube, an ANONYMOUS flowchart which shows the most activity of the guild based upon time, that way you know what and when is the best time for guild activities.
Like I said, throw all the “positive” outcome that culd possible come from knowing when was the last time someone logged in and represented the guild and I will show you a way to not reveal that and still solve the problem.
So far it has been the cleaning space and guild activity, both were solved. Whats next?

Specially with contested dungeons like CoF and CoE, the amount of time people dont have it make it painful, I cant guest 24/7 and I only got 2 guest passes, please dont be selfish

Oh and please stop it with the “forcing your opinion on someone” argument, because it is a tug war that isnt any better than “my dad is better than yours” since we both believe our opinion is the right one and the other one is the one being forced, when in reality we both are forcing it on each other, only that I can recognize it :/

it could very well just be to make it easier to clean roster from players who have not been active for a certain length of time to make room for new members,.
this solves it, it is a middle ground where you get to clean roster and cannot be used for dictatorships;
If anything we can come up with a compromise; once the guild is full, an option to the last 30-50 members who havent logged recently with a threshold, say 1-3 months will be tagged. You wont be able to tell what people are doing but given that your guild reached 500 people we can assume then that the guild has been active for more than 3 months, anyone who hasnt logged in that amount of time would be flagged red to the guild leader, they get kicked, make room for the newer members and everyone can continue doing their guild sharing business.

If anything we can come up with a compromise; once the guild is full, an option to the last 30-50 members who havent logged recently with a threshold, say 1-3 months will be tagged. You wont be able to tell what people are doing but given that your guild reached 500 people we can assume then that the guild has been active for more than 3 months, anyone who hasnt logged in that amount of time would be flagged red to the guild leader, they get kicked, make room for the newer members and everyone can continue doing their guild sharing business.

That aside, we are now going off topic, so I will close this discussion by saying this; selfish is indeed a perceptive and circumstantial thing, varies in the person. A big guild shouldnt have any issues making influence and badges. Not everyone have all their friends in one guild or server for that matter, this is a game that [hopefully you will agree with me on this one] promotes socializing not only inside the guild, but outside of it too. Example; PvP guilds, PvE guilds, WvW Guilds, friend’s guilds, storage guilds. We all want to have it all in one, but this isnt the case, Im lucky to have a prety comprehensive guild myself, we are the biggest in the server, we do pretty much almost everything, yet Im allowed to go represent my other guild every now and then, to give some of my rep to them, my time to their missions. Before that I was in a guild which required me 100% representation time, you know what happened? I got kicked. Guild wars 2 introduced multiguilding for a reason other than free storage, why should I be punished for using it correctly?

No it’s not forcing anyone’s way on you. If the tools are implemented you have the choice to use them or not use them. Just as you have the choice to run a guild that is not 100% rep required, just as people who want to join a guild have the choice if being required to have 100% rep is acceptable to them etc etc. I am still social with other people outside of my guild, I mean that is why I have a friends list after all and I can do whatever I wish with them anytime I wish. I get it you don’t like 100% rep you have your opinion of what it is and that is fine for you, but again don’t use that as a reason to keep others from having a tool that could help them make their “jobs” easier, especially since you are not forced to use the tool even if it gets implemented.
here is the thing, this “tool” is being asked for a reason; to be used. It is lke saying “Im asking to have nuclear permission but it is ok, I dont plan to use it, Im not gonna use it against you or anything once I have it”. Lets be real, the reason anyone would like this tool is simple; to see who is logging in and who isnt, and I can guarantee you that after that they will ask for the representation “pie” portion of your time that you are on. If you wont kick or inflict any “punishment” to anyone because they are representing someone else and just want to know just because, then thats not better than saying I want to be able to have nuclear missile just to look at it, not to use it. It is an extreme analogy but it does fit with this, in that if the leader will not take actions with the tool why would he even want it in the first place, and if the leader wants to take actions with it then I definitely dont want it. Nothing good is gained, because only the leader can look at it, so it isnt a tool that makes the guild members life better, if anything it stresses them out because now they cant sneak under the “boss” nose and help a friend out with their guild.
Once again, I really hate this “dont use it then” excuses, if you are not gonna use it why ask? You want it because you want to use it, period! Having it will give the tool the leader to enforce and “justify” kicks in the guild. Im sorry, but simply put thats terrible.
Wanna know a tool that could make everyone win? Guild alliances, even from other servers, you can make hours-day long alliances with other guilds in which a shared chat option would appear and any action that is done during that time will count towards both guilds. You get to do what you want with your friends and both guild win. Would this get abused? Definitely, I can imagine small guilds buying or making alliances with other guilds just to farm influence, but think about it, wouldnt that make the game even more sociable, and bring people together too?
Im opposed agaisnt tools that go agaisnt keeping the game social, Im definitely down for tools that make the game even more social

It’s your opinion that it is wrong to ask for such a thing not a fact. The OP’s post was asking for more tools to make things easier in running day to day operations that would help him without having to rely on outside sources. Please don’t make a claim that because there is a potential for someone to abuse something it should not be made available for the people that intend to use it in a non abusive manner, I am fairly sure you can see the flaw in that logic without me having to really point it out.

They are unrelated to the topic, but they prove that human nature is selfish, wanting 100% representation is a selfish thing, because 99.99999% of the guilds I come across to have this, which pretty much pidgeonhole you into having to commit to one or be stuck in one of those “small guilds” that cant afford to say that and hence they have to let people come off and on at their convenience otherwise they lose the little people they’ve got.

There is a very good reason for wanting 100% rep and that is because it earns the guild influence and merits faster. Both of these are things put into the game by Anet to give a sense of importance to actually being part of a guild. Where you see “bad” intent at every turn I simply don’t. Sure there are selfish people there is no getting around that, I mean you could make the argument that breathing or eating is selfish since it only benefits the person doing it but c’mon does anyone really think that way? The point I am trying to make is it is your interpretation that 100% repping is bad and as such a opinion. If you want to rid the world of selfishness then stop trying to impose your concerns of what someone might do on others. What you are saying in essence is “I don’t like it so therefore it’s bad”, it’s a weak argument that holds no weight

I agreed, I for once cherish big number and would like also critical healing. Other than time constrains on the personal level and the lack of rewards outside farming or tp flipping I would say this game is pretty solid.

You know, I dont mind it, at all. Sure it is nice to have something to do, Im almost done with my legendary, Bifrost, once Im done with it and since I cant wear Sunrise on my ele i was going to take another extended 5 months or more break, sadly neither the PvP (very unbalanced, to the point that the fun level is almost absolutely zero, once i got my 6000 AP i stopped going there for good) or the WvW appeal to me (very unrewarding, and my PC is really crappy so zergs make the game unplayable for me and thats what predominates there), if they dont give me something to work on I might as well dont even play. Yes stories are nice, if you are not stolen the spotlight (‘cough’ Trahearme ‘cough’) or people just does not go with the flow, SEVERAL time have I tried to roleplay just to be dismissed as childish, or taken jokingly or simply ignored (I want to play a ROLE PLAYING game, eff me, right?!). Right now all Im working on is dress-up with my ele and getting as many shinies as possible, since thats all there is left for me. Im fine with gear grind, as long as it doesnt involved CoF farming or Scarlet farming, there has to be better ways than making gold than flipping tp (effective and the only way I have made money, sadly) or farming like crazy.
Bring more shinies, you will keep more people like me in the game.

You must have had some terrible experiences in your past my friend, Im truly sorry. The tools Im asking for are to bring our guild closer together not the opposite. Though I can see how they may be used that way. I run Vanquish on TC… we are a close knit bunch that cares VERY little for a players in game accomplishments and puts an emphasis on the person behind the keyboard above all else. Granted we are an older bunch so this does help to a degree. We DO ask for 100% rep but that is because missing the day to day of guild chat breaks down overall guild cohesion and the close family feel we try to foster in Vanquish. I and my Officers know every member of the guild from those that have been with us for 10+ years to those that applied last week, we know what their goals are in game, their play times, what they are interested in etc… Not every guild that has the above tools at their disposal uses them in the ways you mention. Sorry this turned into a long wall of text but I felt the need to TRY and show you a diff side of things from someone who has run guilds for nearly 20 years of MMOs all the way back to text only.
Finally, I’m sorry this post got so quickly off topic… I was simply looking for some info = )

I log every now and then on my old guild, help them out with their misions, people have moved to different servers but we still come together every now and then. What happens to people like me in a guild like yours? We get expelled or “called out”, that, is NOT the way to create a

instead you divide it. You create a close family by being personal, bring voice chat, breaking the game barriers, not by forcing them to be 100% or be expelled or “called out”.
As for going off topic, no, this is well in topic, it is, after all, the reason which Im glad it hasnt been implemented.

1) Why would you need this? It would only create “seniority”, aka, “I was here first therefore I deserve more” or “stf|_| I was here first you dont know jack”. All negeative stuff, dont know why would you need it, really
2) Never going to happen, stop asking for it! This is a social game, people can be in multiple guilds and they dont have to log in everyday. The first step is “when did they log last?” followed by “have they been representing the guild all the time? How much they add to the guild?” This would give guild leaders the option to start requiring people to be solely representing and logging in a minimun set of time their guild, which defeats the multiguild system and the fact that not everyone can log in every day, edit: also defeats the "invisible logging option

there is a maximum of players that can be in a guild. once you get near that maximum you’re going to have to start kicking people who haven’t logged in for 5 months
unless you are inviting everyone you come across to, you will not run into this very often. My guild is full, we have around 100 people online at any given time, indeed we kick people but we do so by sending emails before, if after certain time they dont answer, off the drain they go. Sure I can see how seeing last time they logged in could be useful, but thats the only reason really, and it definitely does NOT outweight the negatives, which are elitism in their many shapes and forms they can come as.

You could have used a better music choice tbh, had to mute it 4 seconds into the song.
Pretty interesting thing, didnt know there was a battle elixir that made you a quaggan, as far as I was concerned the watcknight was innovative because it could be used in battle as opposed as every other transformation in the game.
I dont like rating stuff because thats pretty mean, unless it is a good rating. Though this is not my kind of humor I will give you a free bump as well as an advice for your next video; do not use repetitive music, specially one that has been associated before with other “annoying” things, like in this case, Sax Man. (Benny Hill’s is still a very acceptable music if used correctly, would’ve not fitted the video though)

Staff more underwhelming than Ranger Longbow? pshhh.
But yea, Staff needs a burst option and another escape tool.
I have actually killed single handlely people with it, specially with the latest buff which made them SO MUCH responsive, but yeah, the shortbow nerf was a bummer, I was running a SB/LB zerker balls-to-wall-do-or-die, but staff ele? Even if doing the same tactic always most often than not I die a horrific death, where the enemy walks away with 20-40% of their health and only 1-2 utilities used, when I went into TWO OR THREE long CD and a burning Excalibur sword.
Staff is theoretically speaking a very strong weapon if you look at the effects and “damage” of the skills, but theoretically speaking I can randomly select 4 numbers every day for the rest of my life for a chance to be a millionaire and im still p!ss poor.

My Ranger is my favorite character to play and I play her all the time. I just don’t try to get into groups with her… That’s what my Guardian is for.
Kind of like in GW1; I loved my Mesmer, but after being kicked for the Nth time from a group because of some idiot shouting that Mesmers sucked I finally made a Monk so I could experience group content. But my Mesmer was always my favorite character to play and she got all the goodies from my Monk’s hard work.
That actually makes sense, I myself, who play staff ele 98% of the time rolled a guardian not long ago, it is the one who runs TA, HoTW, Arah, FoTM while my ele has been receiving absolutely ALL the goodies, I was even able to beat Liadri with my guardian, something I could not do with my ele, I now (shamelessly) go around with my liadri mini on my ele. That would explain why dungeons have so many guardians, im also guilty of it and did not realize it :C

Well, of course, they are super easy classes with one of the highest damage potential (for all those of you who keep believing that rangers are in a bad spot search Brazil ranger DPS or go to PvP for 10 minutes) As for Guardians and eles Im surprised they were ranked so low, I actually expected eles to be lower and guardians higher, which makes me question how that bar was confectioned; is it number of people who have these classes? (as in, having said class but on a lvl 2, just for PvP tryouts,) Or does it take into account lvl 80s only, if so, does it count hours played in the classes or just how many lvl 80 of said class oly.
If its hours played then guardians have less representation than an ele does not seem right. I play an ele myself (exclusively, and staff exclusively too) and I gotta admit every dungeon I run into has at least 1-2 guardians, guild events are guardians mostly, WvW commanders and 1/3 of the zerg guardians, PvP not so much though, whereas I can spend an entire day without seeing another ele other than myself. Makes me wonder
