Yeah I’m sure you only have a few thousand people getting the update….pfft. Probably more like a few 10s of thousands. That’s a good thing though. LA still had overflow when it went down.

Right now, in pvp half of the time enemy interruprt you… and some times people who need to be healed run too much far away and you waste the skill cause you can’t run after them. :\
And, obviously, you are easy target cause you have to stay still in the position and channel it…

I thought it was pretty obvious it was designed for premade group play. One where your team knows to protect you, and they know to stay close. If I say over vent that I’m doing it my group better stay in range unless there is some reason not to.

Damage is good and you can select the enemy target… so the orb go where you want…
Healing is low… and you can’t use friendly target… so half of the time the orb goes elsewhere… or disappear on the ground.

Not a bug… it is a wrong game mechanic.

Again the mechanic is sound. It’s the group you are in that sounds like the real issue. It sounds like your team doesn’t know your mechanics very well, and you should inform them of it. Just tell them to stick to the target you’ve got a heal coming.

The real problem is how to aim the skill.

When you use a fire cone dps skill, you select the target, you use the skill, and your skill follow the enemy.
When you use healing breeze you don’t… all your def target move, jump, dodge and, at the end, you waste your heal cause you can’t haim.

See the above for this as well. Your group sounds really uncoordinated. This particular skill shines when you can be at the back of a group holding a position. Otherwise it’s really bad. I do agree they should change it though, but that doesn’t appear to be on their agenda.

No… symbols doesn’t heal friends.
One is a self heal (remove condition too)… one boost the healing power (not too much) and ress (slow, and high CD)… one is damage reductor and give ret… and there are others 2 for damage boost.

You can actually trait for symbols to heal allies.

Meditation? You speak about “merciful intervention”?
Yeh… some times teleport on yourself… some times teleport on the engi’s turret… some times on the necro’s minion… some times on the ranger’s pet… some times on the mesmer’s clone… some times on a full heal friend… meanwhile party die.
The only way to use this skill is stick to your target and, if there is no bug, u can heal him… but in this way teleport does not make sense…

You are absolutely right. The meditation trait “Monk’s Focus” makes it so that meditations heal you. The heal amount is pretty low though. Even then it only works with 3 meditations. Smite conditions is a great one though. It has a low cd, aoe damage, and condition removal all in one. Traited it serves as a small heal (something like 1500). Merciful intervention though is entirely messed up. It should target players first, and if all team members are at full then maybe something else. Right now it’s really hit or miss.

It seems the problems you are having is about the way guardian support is designed. It’s “o.k.” at regular support, but in a coordinated team guardian support really shines. Empower is one of those abilities that is just wonderful in any kind of group setting. In a coordinated group setting though it can make Guardian seem absolutely OP for support.

Don’t forget you also have aoe aegis/protection and heal/regen on demand. Along with burning for your group.

I only play guardian support in pvp, but it is very very strong in pvp. If you are in WvW for example try using guardian support to defend something. Guardians make a huge difference in battles. Just like SPvP, they can make a huge difference in offense or defense.

For example defending a wall in wvw a few days ago.

I was using that just for defense, but they couldn’t break through.

Of course that’s all based on my own experience and will be different than someone elses.

GS staff is a good combo. Mixing gs with scepter though is a waste imo. The traits for it that would make scepter/focus viable are already being used to make your GS viable. Where as both benefit from 20% cdr on two handed weapons.

I switched over to sword&focus/torch with scepter&focus/torch off set because of the way it all stacked up. Hard to beat a staff for tagging in cursed shore with all of the bots though. Staff tags like a boss.

Well first I paid for two digital deluxe editions, one for me one for fiance. Then we both needed at least 8 character slots. Plus 3, 5 for her, extra bank slots. Then there is the bag issue we had to increase, and the black lion keys, dye sets etc.

I love it all. I would gladly pay every bit of it again because it is fun. The only exception is the stupid requirement of PvP in order to get 100% exploration. Not an issue for me as I love PvP, but for her that’s a killer. Doubt she will get any expansions or anything because they probably plan on forcing more PvE players into PvP and they just don’t feel comfortable there. Fortunately I have no problem working towards crafting her legendary for her.

The game was designed to cater to everyone. Ramping up the difficulty would cause a mass exodus of players that like to sit back and enjoy the game.

Theres also a reason why MMO’s that have steep difficulty are very low populated.

<That game which shall not be named> had plenty of incredibly challenging content and they still managed to break what is it now, 15 MILLION subscribers (I still can’t get over that number).

The key is to have content that catered to both player bases.

That game hasn’t had challenging content in like two expansions now. If you found it challenging, awesome. I can’t agree.

As for the level 80 areas being over turned, I disagree also. I don’t think you said that, but someone else did. I thought they were really fun. As I said my favorite encounters so far were the Temple Events. I enjoyed the hell out of those.

I would bet though that most, if not all, of the people saying “oh the content is so easy” can’t show one screenshot of them completing say Balthazar.

If it helps once you get past the straits of isolation (j/k) you will see more people than you want to see. In fact there are certain areas that you will wish so badly there were fewer people in because you won’t be able to get a kill in fast enough.

No, I don’t want glass cannon builds.
But healing builds are not just a “non-glass cannon” build. They sacrifice alot of damage.
Trading 1 damage stat for 1 defensive stat makes alot of difference, due to the multiplicative interaction between them.
When it comes to Precision, it affects damage itself, then affects effects that trigger on crits and whatnot.

It’s not me making a classic mistake or wishing for homogenized professions.
It’s me wanting builds less about specific, prohibitive gear.

What I’m showing you above with those numbers is that it isn’t a big hit in damage. It’s actually giving you more damage by having defensive stats on gear to begin with. Even with maxed out stats you aren’t having to kitten your damage by as much as you might think you are. Sure a 27% crit drop seems huge, but that’s only with no other precision gear on. Due to DR you won’t have those issues. That allows you to build both offensive and defensive at the same time. I just can’t see this big loss of damage.

I think I will actually work out how much damage is lost from this tonight and post it.

Though if you say that a person hits for 1k damage a hit, at 1 time per second, with a 30% crit rate they would deal 11500 damage over 10 seconds. While with no crit you would deal 10000 damage over 10 seconds. I know that’s only roughly there, and I will have to actually do the math on it.

I’m not sure whether this belongs best in Discussion or Suggestions, but here goes.

Healing Power and Vitality are attributes, that to me, aren’t very fun, and don’t make much sense due to ANet’s anti-Holy Trinity mentality.

Below I will discuss something that doesn’t make Healing ineffective, but makes the concept of dedicated healer something that doesn’t mean ineffective damage dealer, something that is less bound by attributes and by extent, gear.

Focusing on Healing should be a matter of skill choice, and to an extent Major Trait choice, but not something you “spec into” by sacrificing a great deal of damage dealing.

It’s rather unfair that while boons don’t require you to sacrifice stats, Healing does.

Healing Power, is one of the main culprits that help keep the Holy Trinity alive – or at least Risen – in GW2.

Let’s take a loot at the defensive Attributes:

  • Toughness, Aegis, Protection, Blindness, Weakness and Condition Removal scale with applicable incoming damage (i.e: the heavier the incoming damage, the better they are)
  • Vitality is just a buffer – while it makes you take longer to reach 0 Health, once you lose that extra health, you also take longer to heal to full.
  • Healing Power gives you some healing, but costs you damage and mitigation, allowing the concept of dedicated Healer to persist.

I believe the game will be more fun – and truly free from the Holy Trinity – if the following is done:

  • Remove Healing Power from the game
  • Make Vitality affect incoming healing (less than half the effectiveness of Healing Power)
  • Make Power affect outgoing direct healing (less than half the effectiveness of Healing Power)
  • Make Condition Damage affect outgoing periodic healing (less than half the effectiveness of Healing Power)
    Note: X Vitality + X Power (or Condition) should result in a lower total Healing than the one produced by X Healing Power.
  • Alternatively, no attribute would affect outgoing Healing.

This would make healing effectiveness depend less (but still a little) on the one producing the heal, and more (but not much) on the one receiving it.

You seem to be under the impression that healing power is the only stat on gear. Let’s take a look at the PvP amulets that have healing power.

Shaman’s Amulet
798 toughness 569 healing power 569 condition dmg/ jewel 125 tougness 75 condition damage 75 healing

Valkyrie’s Amulet
798 power 569 tougness 15% crit dmg 284 healing power/ jewel 125 power 75 toughness 5% crit dmg and 45 healing

Cleric’s Amulet
569 power 569 toughness 798 healing /jewel 125 healing 75 power 75 toughness

Not going to count the celestial because it has 295 everything and 15% crit damage the jewel is 45 everything and 5% crit damage.

If you look at the Amulets as just a sum of stats on gear (as it is), then you can see the above doesn’t “kitten” your damage.

Let’s compare the Valkyries Amulet with the Berserker’s Amulet.
V 798P 569T 15%CD 284HP
B 798P 569Pr 284Vit 15%CD

So the trades between the two are 569 precision for 569 toughness, and 284healing power for 284 vitality. The only difference there for damage is precision roughly 26.9% crit chance versus 569 toughness

The vitality is equal to 2840 health, while the healing power is different depending on class.

The passive regeneration is 200 per second at level 80 and 0 Healing Power, increases by around Healing Power * 0.0325 per second.

If that is right then the extra 284 hp adds a total of 9.23 hps.

If anything Healing Power just needs to have higher coefficients given to it. I think the OP is making the classic mistake of not understanding that dead dps is 0 dps. There are parts of the game where you simply can’t spec glass cannon and roll everything. You need to have some defense. This might come in the form of sustain, or mitigation, but there has to be some defense there. For people that want to specialize in one or the other a move like this would only further homogenize professions.

Another example is take the Warrior’s Healing Signet. The heal increases by 1 for every point of healing power. So with the 284hp amulet you would increase your regen by ~9hps, and heal another 284 when you used the signet.

Here I go again chiming in on PvE difficulty. I agree with the a lot of the sentiment here. I have found the PvE to be hard or easy – neither of which equals challenging. Challenging to me would be requiring me to attack a particular mob differently every time I fight one. If I can spam skills 1,3 and 5 on one weapon, then swap and use skill 2 every single time that isn’t challenging. The only time I have to dodge is when I have two or more mobs on me (I’m a mesmer btw) or am fighting a veteran or my heal has a long CD still. Why can’t mobs have a heal like we do? Why can’t they pick up a boulder and throw it at me knocking me unconscious? I will say this again – I believe the PvE difficulty of BWE1 was the sweat spot for this game. You made a stupid mistake you died. I remember having to use dodge whenever it was off CD. I also get why they lowered the difficulty/challenge of the PvE. There were a lot of complaints things were too hard. Well, now that people have played the game and have gotten used to the mechanics of things, I would suggest that Anet turn the difficulty level back to BWE1.

I’m sorry but I don’t think you are level 80. There are creatures that heal, and there are mobs that heal as well. Those mobs have a healer in them, and work pretty good together.

Do you actually have a level 80? Not theory crafting, not I watched a video, have you actually played through the level 75+ areas. SoD, FS, CS etc?

I say people that consider GW2 PvE to be too easy should post a screenshot of their character select screen. That will give more weight to their words. They could always just post a screenshot of them with a legendary though, that would probably carry the same weight.

As for me I’ve found plenty of challenge so far. I’m only at 55% map completion too. I’m sure you guys that are sitting at 100% and working on just farming the rest for your legendaries are right and that it’s easy. For me though there is plenty of challenge.

I’m having a hard time right now finishing up straits, finishing up scavenger’s chasm etc. I guess it’s just me though and that’s fine.

Anyway just thought I would suggest to you guys to show off your completion and how far you’ve gotten so that more people would listen to your arguments.

I’d like to hear one of your examples of a GW2 encounter that requires more thought than one in a “holy trinity” game. Bear in mind, I’m not advocating this game be like WoW – so let’s not start that flame war – yet I have played both games and can certainly attest (with examples if need be) that there is a greater level of challenge in WoW content than in GW2 content, even if the button rotations were known before hand.

Regardless of which “trinity” system exists, teamwork is teamwork. WoW had less “flexibility” for error when it came to the key roles (tanks / healers) and its impact on the rest of the team; Although GW2 had a greater room for individual error, it still doesn’t justify one-shot mechanics and incredible amounts of boss HP.

I was a tank in wow, raided. I played both warrior, and a paladin. Yes I even played during the lolret days when it was join the group buff everyone now gtfo. I played during bc, wotlk, and during cata. I find GW2 far more challenging. That’s just my opinion, but you wanted straight examples of fights I find more thought than raiding in WoW.

First there is the Temple of Balthazar meta event. I thought the entire event was really fun, yes even the priest. It was a cool event. Like most events though I consider this one to be overly punishing for melee. Most of the events are very easy for ranged players, and really difficult for melee. That’s another issue though. Have you completed this event?

I enjoyed several of the temple events actually. I can list more, but first I would like to know if you have even completed any of these events. If not I don’t think you will even know what I’m talking about.

Btw anyone doing this on warrior here is a hint. Use the trait Crack Shot.

Rifle and harpoon gun shots pierce. Rifle and harpoon gun skills recharge 20% faster.

Even if it is bugged with some of your skills, the pierce is what is important. Now you just target the mouth. Strafe out, pew pew pew. Step behind piller. You manage to kill everything this way. Really funny.

I’m pretty disappointed by this difficulty nerf. This was actually fun and challenging content, and I enjoyed fighting the three veterans on my ranger at the level (24).

Tokyoshoe, what setup were you using to fight these? A dagger elementalist would have been ideal for the close range combat, starting with Earth skills 5 and 4 to AoE bleed and to nuke with fire attunement. After that you could use lightning for control and then water, and back to earth or fire after that.

This should be very doable on an elementalist, and I’d like to know why you’d believe this would still be difficult even after the changes. The only way I could see this being difficult is if you’re adamant about using a staff in close quarters; if that’s the case then yeah, you’d have a problem.

Claiming other classes are overpowered isn’t proof that the story mission needs to be nerfed to the ground.

As someone who’s main is one of “those classes” I can tell you flat out that we are OP in PvE compared to say an ele. That’s just how it is, and there really isn’t anyway to fix it without destroying us in PvP. The reason is that it’s relatively easy to be OP when the a.i. reacts in pretty set patterns. We can use our symbols freely because the a.i. won’t run out of it. Plenty of examples like this. My warrior (also 80) doesn’t have to use setups for his 100b. I just stand there and unload. In PvP that won’t happen. I will need to get a good stun setup first, or have the enemy under some cc and know they haven’t used a break. In PvE though I can just roflstomp, and I hardly take any damage. With Adrenal Health I"m gaining 120 health every second, with healing signet I’m gaining another roughly 200 per second. So 320 health per second, and that doesn’t count life steal triggering, or that I have heavy armor, built in defense WITH my offense etc.

Btw if you think I’m just talking out of my rear I could supply screenshots of my 80s. Really though we all know this isn’t a new concept. Classes that have light armor, and medium armor, are just getting murdered in melee range. Now if there was some talent changes so that they could say “improve toughness by 20% while wielding a melee weapon” or some such it might be different.

Warrior is my go to example though. I have excellent ranged choices. I have excellent melee choices. If I want to be ranged awesome, and I switch it up on a regular basis depending on what I’m fighting. The light, and to some extent, medium armor classes just don’t have as many options though. If they go into melee one hit on them is going to take way more of their life than mine. That’s just how the game works. On the other hand in certain dungeons ranged is pretty heavily favored, so they get at least that. Or do they? Not really because in addition to my armor, high hp pool, damage mitigation, regen, I also have really nice long range options too. My guardian is the same to some extent, his ranged options are pretty much poo though.

This over the shoulder nonsense is horrible. Out of every race it is the easiest to recognize with a charr. Try doing some of the jumping puzzles, or fighting in confined spaces. The camera has a seizure, and then tries to go over the shoulder. It mostly just blocks everything out.

I’ve heard that First person will be introduced, I’m just curious if there is any new information on it? I have no problem waiting to do some of the puzzles, or more confined areas until it does if say it’s only a month away.

I think what he is getting at is that it’s used for going in, and getting to a place rather than running away from a place. I could see if it had some mechanic like double the duration if moving away from enemies. I just ignore it though, for me it’s the perfect charge.

It gives your melee speed, and aegis for that initial damage that’s going to happen.

Protection giving -33% damage 5s 30second cd VS block 3 attacks 4 seconds 45second cd.

If you could ensure the boss is on you non stop hitting for 1k a hit once per second for 30 seconds straight the focus only negates 3k damage while protection prevents (5000 × .33 = 1650) 1650 damage. Blocking also removes any side effects of the hit.

For on demand damage mitigation the shield can’t do the same as the focus. The cooldowns are too long to be effective. The percent mitigation at only 33%, and the fact that it may or may not even hit your target makes it inferior. In order for protection to equal the blocking you need to be hit roughly twice per second over 4 seconds. That isn’t hard at all in say sPvP, but in more predictable PvE that isn’t likely to happen.

.33 x X1000 = X1000-(1000×3)

There are improvements for shield that I would like to see but frankly, if you are of the position that there is no reason to use shield over any other offhand because the other offhands do everything shield does and better, you simply aren’t using your toolset to the fullest capability (or being entirely honest either). There is a reason for the ability to swap weaponsets in combat. You should learn to use them and make builds considering this ability. The premise is that focus is better than shield individually. That’s a overly simplistic way to examine the usefulness of the various weapon choices. For instance, Focus doesn’t set up combo fields, the shield can. That’s a worthy consideration. None of these weapon choices can be considered in isolation because that’s not how they are used.

Then again you aren’t considering that a focus provides the following benefits

regeneration
blind (depending on enemy AS has great damage mitigation potential than protection)
condition removal
3 blocks (greater damage mitigation than protection over those short periods where you are the focus)

vs
projectile absorption (THIS IS NOT BLOCK and will NOT trigger Defender’s Flame)
aoe knockback
protection in a cone

it seems to happen when the area you would land at is on a different elevation than the one you start from. It doesn’t always happen, but that seems to be the most common. That or the area you would land at is for some reason inaccessible. So instead of just pushing you back it seems to fail. No idea really, but it is annoying.

please. dont tell me that people keep thinking that the number they see when performing Barrage is the damage of 1 hit.
you hit for 6K, and that is the sum of all the hits of barrage, you dont do 5 hits of 6K, that is just stupid.

And you can cry all you want, shortbow outdamages by far the longbow.

That is exactly the problem. People don’t yet understand how channeled abilities show damage in the game. The way they see it is “OMG that last hit did 5k damage, and the one before it 4.5 etc” They want to add them all up and say the skill does huge damage. What they don’t realize is that the 5k they are seeing is for the entire channel time.

Please stop, you have no idea what you are talking about and this line pretty much negates anything you might have to say otherwise. The guy already stated he was in HotM. I just don’t see how you can even make that statement knowing this.

As for testing, it’s been done many times already. There are even multiple dummies to test on in hotm. Shortbow does more dps, not even up for debate. If you simply like lb better, awesome.

Oh and with a full speced out marks/skirmishing build the rapid fire will get to just over 5k. The downside is that sb still out damages it over that same time.

Rapid Fire – This is one of the best skills the ranger can have, shooting 10 arrows in a rapid speed is highly damaging and very effective. does more damage than all of shortbow skills put together.

I hope you know that the damage you see is the damage all shots did combined, it doesn’t show the damage of each single hit.
I’ve tested it in the HotM, Rapid Fire shots 10 arrows in about 4 to 5 seconds for a little more than 3k damage, a Shortbow shoots 10 arrows in about 4 to 4 seconds for around 300 damage each, resulting in around 3k damage.

what kind of kitteny longbow were you using in order to do that mediocre amount of damage? I’m built for defense and pump out more damage then that…

Sword 1 is broken as hell. It CCs the PLAYER better than anything you are fighting. You want to roll? Sorry, nope. Oh you did manage to roll, now shoot back in here like a bullet and eat that aoe.

You are either flat out telling a lie, or someone has lied to you. First warriors are not even close to the lowest. You just need to build a little different than most mouth breather warriors know, (i.e. no 5 signet gs).

My guardian is only mid 60s though and I’ve only done a few dungeons. So maybe latter on the shield becomes more useful. So far though it has been absolutely garbage for me. I’ve had one in dungeons, never used it because the focus was better in every situation. Any time I would have used the dome my Wall of Reflection (32 second cd btw with trait Virtue VI) was ready to go. It lasts longer 10s, it reflects instead of absorbs, and creates a combo field.

It’s fine if people like shields, but focus is simply better in every way from my experience so far.

Also anyone that thinks the blind on focus is a waste doesn’t get how powerful sword/focus is for defense and offense.

Consider what sword/focus has
TWO blinds, 2 forms of blocking, regen, condition removal,

vs
1 blind, 1 block, 1 projectile absorption, 1 knockback (which usually manages to just push the enemy out of aoes away from your melee), and 5s protection most of the time is wasted because of being a cone instead of an area.

The downside in PvP with Hammer is the same as with mace. Your 1 takes too long to actually take effect. In pve it isn’t a problem because most of the time the enemies will stand still for it. In PvP it’s much more chaotic, so don’t expect to hit with it too often unless you catch them in some cc.

Scepter, Staff, and GS/Sword are going to be your best bets for pvp.

Maybe my guardian is just too low level (mid 60s) but so far I’ve found his damage to be far below my warrior. My warrior also has much more survival. Sure he doesn’t get the regen of 40 some odd health per sec like my guardian, but consider at the same level his crit was mid 80s with double the health.

Sorry to say this but if you want good damage, with good survival at the same time with much better build varieties go warrior. Not saying this in hopes of getting them nerfed, I hope anet tries to bring other classes inline with warriors/thieves.

I understand people saying this is not a bug, BUT if that were true then they intentionally designed a skill to negate your own dodge rolls. Why would they go through the trouble of telling us how awesome dodge is, just to turn around and say “o.k. but on a melee ranger who will need it more than most anyone else, you can’t use it kittenol”.

There is no way they purposely designed it to CC you in place. Right now sword/horn is my favorite, but it’s just really unplayable in most areas. I’ve ended up switching to 2hs because the skills all work for that beast.

Same for me, yes there are more of us out there. Though I wouldn’t mind if they added it. If they did though they should go ahead and add 100 to 150 lbs to all of the npcs, and then they should add a hidden passive to any meal with meat in it. It adds 1 to your heart attack score. Every 10 seconds the game rolls to see if you have a heart attack based on how many meat products you’ve eaten.

In all seriousness though I’m so sick of seeing people being unhealthy with what they eat. It would be fine if tax dollars taken from me weren’t then used to support their unhealthy life styles.

TP is for people who wants to sell something, and for someone who wants to buy. If you’re trying to sell something that no one wants, problem is not with TP, but with the item. Also, a-net never intended crafting to be profitable…You can also guess by how easy it is to level it to max.

My point was that there is no need to even bother trying to sell most items. You will lose out in the end. It’s far more efficient to simply vendor most items.

I do agree that crafting is not for profit. I know some people might think that if they came from other games. The way GW2 is set up though crafting seems to be a huge money sink. Which is fine for people like me that are making a good amount of gold off it. I like the way they have things now though. There is absolutely no need for me to craft armor/weapons, and I’m usually ahead of the people that do. Which brings up the problem they have with stats on gear anyway. Example: my level 43 blue is better than someones crafted 45 blue, but that’s another topic.

Was just suggesting to the OP to not even bother with the trading post as it’s going to end up costing him money. Just my opinion though.

Would be o.k. if I could press 1 again to stop auto attacking with it. Then I could 1 to use it, and if I needed to dodge press 1 again to stop. I would prefer they fix it, but that isn’t likely to happen soon. They simply have too many important issues to fix. Still love my ranger with sword/horn or sword/torch though.

That doesnt make sense to relist items for a price. In real world it cost more money and someone would come out with a free relist option and everyone would go to them to sell. Now in a game to you have an item and it cost you to relist means you as the seller of said item would end up less and less money if the item never sells.

That’s why for the most part the Trading Post is a waste of time. It’s good for selling mats, but that’s about it. Anything else you might want from it can be found much cheaper in other ways. There are a few exceptions, but so far I’ve made plenty of money by doing 2 things.

1)
If I can’t use it, I vendor it. Don’t bother salvaging it unless you will make more off what you might get than you can make selling it to the vendor.

Example a sword might give me 2 iron ore, but I can sell it for 35 copper. Iron ore right now sells for 11c each. You also have to take off 4 copper because each use of the salvage kit (basic) is equal to 3.5 copper. Each use of the fine is worth 12 c roughly. So if you were to use a fine salvage kit on an item and only got say you got 4 iron ore off it. You would need to make at least 64.5c off it to make it even. Most of the time that won’t happen. People end up wasting money by listing items. It’s similar to D3 where it was a loss of money to pick up white items.

2) Don’t bother crafting armor/weapons until max level. There are plenty of free (karma) items available while leveling. Sell the mats for a hefty profit. My first gold was made selling copper, and wood gathered while leveling. When I hit level 20 I had almost 3g saved up. There was absolutely no need to craft a single thing.

Another issue on class balance is weapon swapping. Some classes can swap weapons, spam all the skills for the weapon, switch back and do sort of a skill spam rotation.

Thief on the other hand, can’t do this because skills require initiative. The you nerf our top damage skill… There was a areason it did a lot of damage, because after we were done “spamming” that skill, we had nothing else.

Mesmer, I can use staff/greatsword and do a sick damaging rotation that can pretty much solo any monster.

Ranger is the same thing…. I can equip some crazy weapon combos and do super quick burst damage that TRUMPS thieves.

Keep in mind thieves have to be in melee range unless they use shortbow/pistol…..

This game needs to focus all of its attention on class balance…

Really you can do that with a ranger? No what you can do with a ranger is get stuck inside of an aoe and die. Try playing higher than level 10, you will see just how fast a bugged sword skill instagibs you.

I fear guild wars two will wane unless they bring out new stuff soon

kitten hell, the game’s been out less than three weeks.

Also, there is a kitten-ton of stuff to do in the game to keep you busy.

Well, keep saying that. There are ten days until MoP gets released and if ANet can’t come up with a massive content update before September 25th, this game will be forgotten. I’m no wow fan, I’ve never played it because I actually hate it.

There isn’t a ton of things to do in Guild Wars 2 currently. It is 1. get level 80 2. get exotics 3. get bored 4. quit

Because WvWvW is pointless, dungeons are boring and nobody really cares legendary items or world completion.

“But you can explore!!” Yeah, nobody cares. Gotta be realistic sometimes.

I really love this game but I can keep saying “but you can explore!!!” while I’m out of things to do.

First Pandas..LOL. Wait, you also get sudo pokemon. I can’t help but laugh at the WoW scrubs.

Second please post your dungeon sets, or even your achievements for them? Show people that you have actually done the content available before complaining there isn’t more.

Third YOU may not care, but there are those of us that actually DO care very much. I love WvW, and PvP, and exploring, and getting achievements. Sure part of it is showing off my kitten, but another part is just that this is the first game I’ve actually enjoyed exploring in.

Aside from all of that, I am curious if you have completed AC explorable yet. Most players I see complaining are only doing it because they are bad. I’m not going to say you are, but lets see the screen shot.

Just put the stacking buff on the Ranger instead of the pet, and apply it to the pet. That way it persists through pet swapping, pet death, pet swimming, and zoning, but not through Ranger death.

Putting it on the ranger would defeat the purpose, as would keeping it through pet swapping.

It absolutely should persist through swimming, and zoning though. It should stay as long as

1) The pet doesn’t die
2) You don’t die
3) You don’t change the pet.

I’m fine with the auto leaping, I think it makes the weapon unique. I’m just not ok with the lack of control that comes about as a consequence. They need to be coded differently than other leaps so that dodge works correctly with the weapon.

They could also just make them grant say .25 second evasion or something similar to the GS.

Right now it’s fun, but using a 1h sword feels like you are CCing yourself.

For pure damage I like my cat. Autoattacks cause bleeding, huge crit chance, 30% more crit damage etc..He puts out a ton of damage. If I need something more tanky then I use a bear or a canine. The Fern Hound is a great choice because he also grants regeneration to allies.

I love my using a sword on my ranger, but this is just such a problem. It makes dodging incredibly hard. This becomes much more noticeable at higher levels/dungeons when things can easily kill you if you don’t dodge out of them. Neither Kick nor Pounce have the combo finisher leap so really I have no idea why they behave this way, but they do.

I hope it gets fixed soon. It makes 1handed sword unplayable in several areas because the mobs have aoes that if you don’t dodge you will be close to death.
