I have another question, if I were to try and convert this to a GS build would that be possible. I ask because I can augment my lower survivability stats by using a focus for the block. In a fight I usually sword 2 for the blind, then aegis blocks, then I activate focus 5 for the 3 blocks and aoe damage, then usually sword 2 is up again if not I use f1 blind. Then either sword 2 is back up, or focus 4 for the blind + regen depending on how much damage I’ve taken. If they try to run I can use JI to catch them+deal damage+ heal. It’s a series of blinds and blocks to reduce damage I take. It works out o.k. in smaller scale fights. Admittedly I have so much trouble with certain classes. I’m horrible against x/p thieves because of their near constant blind. Between us we end up blinding the hell out of each other. Just an example, I’m fairly certain it’s a l2p issue on my end. I’ve found improvement comes if I never go “kitten that guy was OP” and instead go “o.k. what could I have done better to win” it’s what got me far in LoL.
Anyway my only experience with a GS build comes from when I used to run an AH build awhile back. It didn’t seem to do enough damage to really win in small scale fights. I could avoid getting killed, but that was about it for me. I’ve seen others post their GS builds and to be honest they have to be way more skilled than I am.
Anyway if you guys could give me some advice on a good GS build that maybe utilizes monks focus it would be great. I realize that’s probably a bit of trouble though.
Good stats selection, has a lot of damage potential for the amount of armor it runs. I would consider something other than Generosity sigils though as the price is prohibitive.
Since your crit damage and power are pretty good, I would consider getting a burst set together for your WvW endeavors. That’d be Mace+Focus/Hammer. Chain Protector’s Strike/Shield of Wrath with Mighty Blow for an enormous burst if you land crits. I’d also consider sticking a Sigil of Endurance in there to compensate for your lack of vigor.
I’d also consider a dedicated rune set. Even though your crit damage is high with Beryl orbs, a rack of Citadel runes +1 orb in the head slot would net you a long fury uptime plus more base power which will increase your critical and noncritical damage. I’ve been a huge fan of Citadel recently; it’s cheap and insanely effective.
With Fury and precision consumables your critical chance will be 91%.
Thank you for the suggestions. Yeah with the price on those sigils it’s so much cheaper to just replace the sword.
I will certainly try that out.
That’s what I’ve been running. It feels good, but anything can “feel” good. I would appreciate advice on the setup.
I’ve run this in wvw, and pve. I don’t really do dungeons because I mostly wvw/pvp (typically run bunker).
Anyway the id cheap and it seems to be effective but again I would appreciate any insight you guys have. Feel free to change around anything in it. Only things I would ask is please try to take into account I’m on limited options for gold (I spend most of it upgrading stuff in wvw), and I would like to either use 1hs+focus, or 2hs.
Thank you for looking over it, and any suggestions.
Yeah, you should definitely add the ascended items since they are very different from the exotic ones.
Ah thank you. I should have done that. I just honestly don’t have any ascended stuff to worry with right now. I will add that because it is helpful.
Also thank you foofad for explaining it. I guess it looks kind of silly with just a post with numbers in it.
Most everyone already knew it but it doesn’t hurt to have the infromation out there again.
yeah not even in the slightest no one runs up to a guardian and says meh better not XD. the reason we are not complained about is the fact that if u choose to run the bunker shout build which is what i consider imo our meta build. If you choose to run that build you have like 0 dmg output to kill ur enemies its a pure distraction build. no one looks at a guardian and considers him a “threat to the health” they just really annoy you with cc and decent healing/tankiness so we are not op as it is balanced enough if we choose to go bunker we have to sacrfice like 100% of our dmg output to do so. i mean obviously over a long enough period hitting for small amounts will wear down a opponent and there has been sooo much added boon hate lately that were slowly losing our standing if anything lol
I think certain other professions are kind of OP in this aspect. They can go full bunker, and still have really nice damage.
The Guardian’s sustain (the reason we are tied for lowest health, n o innate movement speed increase) is tied to boons. Boons are becoming somewhat of a problem because I’m seeing near constant boon removal/stealing now.
If things continue like this people will just start switching out guardian bunkers for any number of other professions that can do it and also bring kill potential.
Try to fight any decent ranger, necromancer, mesmer or engineer. See how they laugh at you and demolish you as soon as your retaliation ends. Guardians are one of the best classes overall (SPvP, WvW and PvE) but our significant weaknesses (low HP, low mobility, lack of range) makes us easy preys for any skilled player.
And FYI, most people in WvW are utter garbage. Once I was ganked by two thieves, and it took me symbol of wrath + whirling wrath to down both of them. Good job stealing when I had Aegis, thieves. I bet anyone that can play his class right and has a proper small-scale PvP build could handle such players.
P.s. I’ll get stoned for this, but I’ll give you that Stand Your Grand deserves some nerfing :P
It’s not SYG that’s broken. It’s the way other classes are lacking in certain areas. Right now there are a select few classes that bring “essential” buffs to a group. I would much rather see Anet add ways for other classes to obtain similar buffs, even if they had to make a sacrifice to do it.
To the OP I think you might be trolling, but just in case you aren’t WvW is not an accurate representation of skilled pvp play. It is a good representation of which server has better macro play though. It is possible to win wvw and never even engage in pvp. It has it’s own set of skills. That isn’t to say someone can’t be good at both, or because they are good at one they are good at the other.
he specifically said he won 1v3’s and 1v1’s in wvw, which means he’s participating in pvp.
No it is not the same as spvp/tpvp. I’m not in the mood to explain the many differences.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Player_versus_Player
Just read that
edit
My comment sounded rude, so I will just start with the basics.
1. In WvW there is no guarantee that your enemy has the same level of gear.
2. In WvW you might be facing people that are much lower level
3. Certain buffs in WvW that are not in PvP
4. Certain skills in WvW have different durations, or just work differently in PvP
5. Certain items can be used in WvW that can’t be used in PvP
6. Buffs from keeps, or just WvW in general apply to one side or another. They do not in PvP
I will stop there, I hope that I have explained a few differences though in a way to doesn’t come off as me being an kitten .

1) Full zerker is bad. Aetherblade Strikers say hi
2) Condition removal = good, especially when getting those 5 stacks of confusion mid WW cast. Time to dust off those soldier runes eh?
3) Shelter = good, no need to elaborate on thisSo please, keep these 3 points in mind the next time you run that dungeon so us “nub non zerker” guardians don’t spend 90% of the time rezzing you, kk?
It taught me that 3 guardians and a mesmer can apparently do what 5 man groups can’t. Which isn’t a good thing as a friend just gave up on his favorite class after this to go guardian once he saw what they could do. I feel like it kind of ruined the entire experience for him. This isn’t me saying “hey you have to go guardian or else” it’s just that after seeing it he felt like he needed to go with something like guardian (was playing a thief).
Imo the dungeon was build around certain professions, but all that really did was make people that weren’t one of those professions not feel welcome. Again that’s just my opinion.
I have pugged this dungeon with 2 guards an ele and a warrior it was amazing (i was on my team heal mesmer build) we had permanent protection regen amazing Condi removal and only wiped once on the last boss. Pugs aren’t bad perse its just bad when you get pugs that think all dungeons=Cof easy and if they die its because their party doesnt have enough deeps not that they need better survivability
Are you on BP by any chance? In all honesty though it’s pretty stupid how well Guardian/Mesmer groups work.

I use this when making builds for various things and I thought others might be able to use it as well. I’ve been browsing the posts on builds and some of their armor weighting seems to be off.
Anyway if any of it is wrong just let me know.
ok thanks guys, here is the final build and gear:
I noticed ‘good’ players dodge my GS! I’ll try to get a hammer and see how that plays out.
They will dodge it easier. It takes time to get used to hammer, and during that time you will probably end up very frustrated.

How I fixed the problem with my charr. That and I have a asura mesmer.
They can “fix” that right after they make it so ACs inside can’t fire at the door and hit rams/players outside.
exactly…both are stupid mechanics. The worst is cata inside a keep firing at their own door and not damaging it. Whoever thought of these deserves a medal. And still all other physics apply. /facepalm
I kind of understand, but then we would need to implement some amo for ac/siege in general. Every shot from a catapult requires say 5 siege, every shot from a treb 10, ac can take 1 each.
O.k. that was a bit of sarcasm about realism applying to GW2. I will agree completely with the OP when aoe caps are removed on siege. It makes no sense at all how I’m raining down hundreds of arrows but can only hit 5 people at a time.
Remove the aoe caps, fix the hacks, make it so aoes from siege are blocked by physical objects and yeah.
Torment is not OP, necro aoe torment is only useful because of the 2s immobilize. Coniditon damage gear shouldnt be used in wvw anyway, the only useful conditions are cripple/chill/blind etc, none that do damage anyway and e.g. a power necro can offer all of that.
Saying you can kite plague is dumb, maybe in a 1v1 or smallscale, but in a GvG or vs zerg I always have 5 people blinded/crippled/chilled/bleeding/poisoned and receiving ~600 damage every second + my retaliation doing work, not OP but extremely useful.
Well of darkness is the same, even if the enemy melee stays there for 2 seconds it already made a difference, gotta drop it at the right time.
Someone doesn’t know about marks and the way aoe caps work
BP isn’t perfect, but it isn’t anything like SBI.Get caught cheating and then try so hard to cover for it. What happened was much easier to explain. They got caught cheating, and are now trying to figure a way out of the impending punishment.
Anyone who cheats, even if unintentional, should get a permaban. You can’t easily say who did it on purpose, and who did it by accident. So ban them all. It’s better to make a few people mad and have a good play environment.
Of course SBI won’t agree with that, and we all know why.
Awww
“Oh noes…SBI folk zapin thru doors…what are we to do?”
Solution – Fight and meet them outside the asset. Chances are that if an enemy is at your gates your not that far from losing the asset.
I know…I know. Totally ruins your plan to zoom hack or the use your abusive set up of arrow carts or your skill less portal bombs to repel the enemy “Horde”.
I’ll tell you whats abusive. The amount of bags you drones are dropping. Ya don’t pound your chest, roar ’kitten’and declare victors of a match up in the first week then come back to the same boards only to cry haxxors. Get out of your little wooden huts and fight.
Come get some!
- [TB] Ralin/Rook
So it’s o.k. to cheat as long as it fits with what you think works. I can already tell what server you are from.
It’s not an accusation when you have screen shots, and videos proving it. It’s a statement at this point. You can try to justify the cheating all you want. In the end it’s still cheating.
A bunch of SBI were unintentionally pushed through a gate due to a glitch that as far as I know has yet to be fixed. Then they killed you.
How the hell does an entire zerg get pushed through a gate by accident?
Let’s take a look at the evolution of sbi so far in this thread.
First you said it didn’t happen period.
Screen shots were shown
You respond that it’s only a one time thing and it’s an accident
Video is provided
You try to downplay that it even happened, and point out it was only a few people
More screen shots showing more of it happening
You try to justify that it should be o.k. and that it’s BPs fault you are cheating because we use siege? Really? That is logical to you?
So… just to be clear… if you happen to accidentally glitch through a wall, panic, and run out the other side, you should be permabanned, too?
Absolutely. Hell I invite anyone at Anet to check up on me. If they see anything like that please permaban me immediately.
(edited by GSSBlunaspike.4153)
The people who are complaining that it’s too easy are talking about the mesmers portaling everyone to the chest from the nearby waypoint outside the puzzle.
No, there are even videos showing you step by step how to complete it.
As to the OP absolutely. This entire jp was designed to punish anyone not playing asura/sylvari/human. I can dot his easy on my asura/sylvari and I found the puzzle to be kind of boring on them. On my charr, screw it. It’s not even difficult because of skill. It’s difficult because of the camera, the way my guy will get down on all 4s (wish they would add an option to disable this) etc.
It isn’t difficult because of the skill of the jp. That’s just bad design. It’s an artificial difficulty, similar to the aether blade retreat. Instead of putting work into making difficult content they took the easy way out. If you have an asura save yourself the trouble of doing it on anything else. Once you do though you will probably feel the same way I did. The puzzle was too easy. I think that os, and the skipping stones are good jumping puzzles. They are fun, and only in a few spots is the camera the issue. I wish it were none, but that’s just how it is setup.
Yeah it was specifically designed to punish the norn and charr. God anet why you so evil to actually spend extra resources and time to specifically punish norn and charr
It’s either that or you admit Anet has seriously flawed software that is incapable of working correctly. The fact that you get pushed through the roof at the diving part is another example of it. They needed to have that higher so that large characters could still see. Why didn’t they? Can you really attribute so many mistakes to just them being bad? If so where does that end, at what point is someone accountable for doing a bad job?
The places where the camera goes crazy on large characters could easily have been adjusted. So they either didn’t bother play testing, or they intentionally did it that way. Maybe I’m wrong and they didn’t do it intentionally. Of course that means they have horrible QA, and don’t bother properly testing anything. That is believable considering the level of content they release at times.
Actually mine was. The first time I went into WvW I got repeatedly ganked. That’s just how it is. I kind of feel bad for people trying to do it, so I’m not going to camp anything. I’m not going to tell anyone else not to though. You go into wvw, expect to get killed. Repeatedly. Until all of your armor is broken, until you want to give up. WvW is just as much psychological as it is about “skill”. If you can demoralize your opponents you have a great chance of winning.
That psychological thing doesn’t demoralize your opponents, you know. It just kittens them off. And people do remember, at the very least, what server or guild did it. It ruins servers and guilds reputations.
There is a reason many guilds in WvW and many servers have the reputations they do. People who do that kind of thing in the jumping puzzles are part of the reason for that reputation, along with similiarly childish behaviour elsewhere in WvW. I can list every server I dislike in WvW due to antics I have observed or been subjected to. Out of politeness, I will not.
Again, this is the kind of thing that will drive potential people away from joining WvW instead of showing them how enjoyable WvW can be so they want to try it out more.
I think it’s a flaw to even assume you can draw people into WvW to begin with. Some people will enjoy PvP, some will enjoy WvW (related but not the same, and others will enjoy PvE. Some (me) like all three. My GF hates WvW though. Nothing Anet does will get her into it. It’s silly to assume you can draw one group over to another. If someone is interested they will try it out.
What Anet could do that might actually work is improve on their tutorial systems. Give players going into wvw a better understanding of what is actually happening. Setup a tutorial area where you are given a quest to take supply and build an ac. Then you have to use that ac to defend a gate against enemy npcs. Etc.
I just think it’s foolish to ever believe you can draw people into WvW or spvp/tpvp. Either people will want to try it, or not. Trying to force them to mix is stupid.
The people who are complaining that it’s too easy are talking about the mesmers portaling everyone to the chest from the nearby waypoint outside the puzzle.

I’ve checked at least 20 or so nodes just now, across various maps and even guested onto other servers, and aetherblades just aren’t spawning. I’ve tried activating nodes and killing/running away from the spawned beasts, but still no aetherblades
I’ve had to turn to boring spawn camping. Boooooo!
Good news is that in the new j/p you can farm the hell out of them pretty easily.
If this was an attempt to get PvE players to enjoy WvW, then they will find it’s having the opposite effect. I don’t know about everyone else, but from what I understand of human nature I doubt that most of these PvE players will ever even want to touch WvW again because of it.
And to all of you WvW diehards, if your first introduction to WvW was getting repeatedly ganked by experienced PvP/WvW players with PvP/WvW builds against your PvE build (very different build types, btw) I doubt you’d want to return either.
Actually mine was. The first time I went into WvW I got repeatedly ganked. That’s just how it is. I kind of feel bad for people trying to do it, so I’m not going to camp anything. The puzzle is not hard. People are just lazy.
I don’t feel lazy. I feel like I tried my best with two different characters and my best just wasn’t good enough.
Up until this point, the only (non-holiday) jumping puzzle I’ve not been able to get through on my own has been Stepping Stones, and I don’t see myself ever getting through that one.
Anyway. I struggled for quite a while on this new one with my human guardian. Had to keep starting over, jumping across those black pipes. There was a certain rock wall at the end of a pipe that my guardian couldn’t get up. Other people would come along and zip! Right up they’d go. But try as I might my guardian’s feet could find no purchase. Tried again and again. And again. Finally got up. Then promptly fell at the next jump. Eventually gave up and took a portal.
Came back later, after the patch with my asura ele. Some parts were easier with him, but it was still pretty much a replay of my earlier misadventures. After repeating various parts of the thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and, for example, over, my asura eventually got to the first of the bounce platform things with the blue flames or whatever the hell they are, but didn’t make it to the next one. Just not enough bounce, or something. I don’t know. I couldn’t even tell where he was when he hit the ground due to the bizarreness of the camera angles, but someone was able to rez him, and yup, there he was, right back at the start. Again. So when someone said, ‘Hey, portal!’ I said ‘Oh, hell yes!’
If that’s lazy, fine. I’m lazy. If that’s an exploit, so be it. I’m a kitten dirty exploiter.
At this point I’m too frustrated to care. And still no jade weapon ticket, which is the only thing I’ve really wanted from this Dragon Bash celebration.
The camera has been this way since before release. I’ve done this thing normally on asura, sylvari. Doing it on charr is when I took a port. Screw that. You can’t even see most of the time.
Apparently not.
At least you can sell them for 70s to a vendor if the stats don’t appeal to you.
They fixed that pretty quick
I was expecting something like the stones. That was actually fun, but not very hard. I think the best jp anet has ever done was os.
It would actually help if people knew what you are talking about …. what the heck are the “stones” and what is “os”
Sorry about that.
os = http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Obsidian_Sanctum
stones = http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skipping_Stones
I found OS to be a really fun jp. The only thing this one is good for is farming a good amount of money quickly. They drop tiny loot bags which have good mats that sell quicklyi, some good greens etc. See pic. Will upload a second farming spot in a sec.
Second one is on top of the air ship, respawns are relatively quick. Have to change out characters every so often though =(
(edited by GSSBlunaspike.4153)
Which is fine considering it doesn’t reward me with anything. In the end I found the puzzle to be ridiculously easy. I was expecting something like the stones. That was actually fun, but not very hard. I think the best jp anet has ever done was os. I would encourage them to build more like that instead of this one.
I’m sorry if that offends anyone. If you are on BP and see me on just ask and I will switch over and port you for free.
Edit in case people think I am being sarcastic pic of achievement. I’ve done this on 4 characters so far, first time every time.

Ok maybe BP’s forum skills aren’t on par with Maguuma after all. This is the worst troll post I’ve ever seen.
It isn’t a troll. People can claim “oh I went through the gate by accident” all they want. The reality is I have more time in wvw than most people on these threads. Yet I have never, not once, went through a gate inappropriately.
So yeah, permaban. Don’t care which server you are on, if you cheat you deserve to be gone. I will report anyone on either side I see cheating when I can. It’s hard sometimes because you get blown up while trying to do it.

What point are you trying to make here? I see two people get through.
Are you suggesting the first guy glitched in on purpose, only to face an overwhelming numerical disadvantage and get killed? How about that second guy. It seemed pretty clear he tried to run back the way he came, but you guys dropped him instantly.
Use your head. There’s no advantage to glitching inside a keep only to be faced by 10 enemy players.
You only saw 2 get through huh? So we know you can’t count now.
Upleveled characters should be able to access WvWvW. Player skill is more important than his level or gear.
Lol. Tell me. When did you last time got beaten by an upscale ? xD
Should I post some screens of me beating higher levels? It isn’t hard for people that actually PvP (spvp, tpvp) to beat people in wvw even with an uplevel. Just because people are in wvw doesn’t mean they know how to pvp. In fact it seems the opposite is mostly true.
Sure level makes a difference, but to say you can’t beat someone when you are upleveled just reeks of carebear.
To better explain what I was saying read this thread.

As for the cheating, it’s SBI did you really expect anything else? If that offends anyone, please consider not cheating next time or someone might just ss/make a video I guess. =P

The thing that is most depressing about this match up is the fact that we got NSP. Not to knock NSP, they are doing pretty good. But thanks to the way the ranking system works, all they have to do is keep breathing and they will just drain us of all those hard faught points. I really wanted to face Yaks or Crystal Desert. Hell, I wanted that rematch with Ehmry Bay. instead we got NSP and our points are crashing again. It really does remove my motivation to want to play WvW this week, by a very large margin.
My little suggestion to you BP.
Read the following matchup thread for TC-Mag-Sos.https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/6-28-Maguuma-Tarnished-Coast-Sea-of-Sorrows/page/7
If you keep insisting, you will get TC instead of EBay. Ya, as you are looking forward, server rating will go higher and higher at the expense of your frustration. You better wanna have a “Good, Competitive match-up” rather than having higher rating.
btw, I like match-up with BP. We have similar coverage and numbers although you as a server more skilled (I mean coordinated server skill, not meaning group combat skill). You guys make it really competitive. It is totally different from when SBI was facing CD or Sos-These servers have good ocenic presence hence, lots of Pvdooring—no fun.
From last 3 match-ups, actually I started to supecting Anet reduced the size of modifier for random match-up. As you see, now NA servers are divided into two big groups (12 + 12) with very large difference in server ratings.
I think it will be very unlikely that any of bottom group servers (including SBI, BP) will be matched up with upper group servers in near future.
So enjoy your match-up and don’t care too much about your server rating.
Thank you for posting this. I honestly don’t think many people understood what was happening. Once a server gets stuck in that setup, they get farmed. Bp is a good server but it’s no match for those we would be against. That will mean fewer people even doing wvw. I think the tier system was better in some ways because it did prevent issues like that from happening.
To those that are new sandbagging has been around for a good while in wvw. It’s nothing new, but then most people don’t even remember where sm lord originally was.
If BP continued what it did the last two weeks it would end up being really bad for the people that play wvw. Anyone remember ebay, it wasn’t exactly fun. Now imagine two ebays and us in the middle.
(edited by GSSBlunaspike.4153)
thank you for the bags of loot
and for letting you finally win =P. Hey after a few weeks you guys need it.
Where was this agreed apon as a server? Did i miss the memo to bend over and throw the match? Is this an excuse we are telling people now for why we are losing? Stop chest thumping and making yourself as well as the rest of BP look like a bunch of noobs.
Feel free to go defend. There are people who are still doing it this week. I feel bad for them to be honest.
You are like the third person that’s said something similar. I will just say the same thing I told the others. Go ahead and go in wvw then. Just don’t complain when there isn’t anyone else around.

Do we really want another round of X weeks with ebay? Keep winning and that’s what we will get. Like 2 more weeks, it’s boring. Already on course to go against servers that outnumber use by a pretty big amount.
Losing to win doesn’t sound very fun or honorable at least in my opinion.
It may not be “honorable” but it works. It isn’t the first time, and many servers do it. Throwing, sandbagging etc. Look at the current rankings
http://mos.millenium.org/na
If BP kept doing the same as last two weeks it would end up being more of the same. Not worth it to some. I kind of feel bad for the people defending with what’s probably much smaller numbers though.
As for the SBI troll, shouldn’t you be saying “thank you”.

There are people who use bot programs to automate their characters. I’m not saying the op did… I don’t know anything about his situation. But if people who DO use such tools are told that they were caught using tool X or tool Y, they’ll either switch to other tools or will modify their scripts.
Or if people are told they were caught accepting gold from a known RMT account and were flagged initially due to the sum or number of transactions, they’ll transfer in smaller amounts or fewer transactions.
I’d rather ArenaNet not give away that info.
While that may be true a simple “we found you were botting” or something along those lines.
Imagine if the cops arrested you, then let you go and said “alright we are going to go lenient on you this time. Next time you do that you are going to jail for good. We won’t tell you what you did to begin with though.”
Yeah good luck not doing what you don’t know you did to begin with.
You guys need to calm down.
While PvE players are giving reasonable answers, the ‘omgsopro’ PvP players are just insulting people and flaming. You people are the ones who say ‘lol who cares’ when some newbie excitedly proclaims he hit 80 on his first toon or has to one-up people every time they mention some achievement. I’m not giving my stance on the argument, but I will say I actively play WvW AND PvE. The name-calling is completely unnecessary and irrelevant.
If that’s what your PvP/WvW community is like then I am very sorry for you. I can’t, and won’t, speak for most people that PvP/WvW. I can speak for myself though and say that if someone said that I would congratulate them and encourage them to join WvW. That said, I don’t have any sympathy for carebears. Once you cross that line from scripted no brainer content into a world where opponents will think you are asking for what you get. Opponents will think, if you attack one and he can’t take you he won’t act like an npc. He will get some friends and they will come roll your kitten . Maybe he will employ a tactic you didn’t even know he could do (guardian teleports seem to always catch noobs by surprise).
There is a world of difference, and now PvE people get to see what it’s like playing in a place where opponents aren’t nice. That’s why the are carebears. They play in a place where the enemies are dumb, and not out for blood. I think we all realize it takes certain skills to be good at PvE. Carebear doesn’t mean they aren’t skilled at that, just that they come from a place of rainbows and sunshine. A place where they can walk 20 feet without getting a backstab, or portal bombed etc.
I can promise you though that the day PvE people stop getting rewarded based off my/my servers hard work, and gold spent in wvw I will drop it.
Agreed, the game needed more difficult content and this was pretty good.
The game has really difficult content in it already. You can access it from anywhere by clicking on the icon right next to Hints at the top of the screen. It looks like crossed swords. There is also slightly less challenging content available (depending on server) by pressing B and selecting which level of challenge you want.
Gw2 has PvE and PvP content, both should be challenging and fun. We here are praising ANet for a fantastic addition to PvE difficulty. I’m sure people are aware that PvP is a challenging experience .
You are wrong, PvE content is not challenging. It might be fun, but it’s not challenging. PvP is where you go if you want challenge. Step out of carebear land and into a place where the enemies think (some of them) and react to you instead of doing exactly what they are scripted for (badly scripted at that).
If you want to introduce “challenge” into PvE you don’t need gimmicky laser walls, or crazy camera angles. Spend a little more time on quality, script enemies to react as PvP players would and you will get your challenge.
Do you know how many carebears would cry if they did that though? It would be insane, so it will never happen.
It’s not a matter of classes, because the only stability we had was 6 seconds from SYG.
So wait, you admit you had at least 1 guardian with you (I main guard btw, bunker mostly), but then go on to criticize someone else? How about try that dungeon without any guardians, get a feel for what other classes go through. We (as a class) trivialize the “hard” parts without any skill. If you have a little skill (I don’t) then it’s even better.

Being a guardian I found it easy.
As a fellow guardian I understand. After this event three other people in my guild are leveling guardians.
Aoe stability is just too good.
Event will be coming to an end soon enough.
And nothing of value will be lost.

Where on earth is BP’s population x)
I’ve noticed a large shortage of Borlis numbers on since reset, especially on EB.
Whyyyyyy
Between Burn leaving and people deciding it would be better to throw a week you won’t see as many people this week. Take the time to farm up pve. New event (same boring stuff).
We may as well not even have a class mechanic if you lost all your adrenaline. Sitting on adrenaline was popular before… what do you think your idea would do?
You want to exhaust your class mechanic on miss? roll a thief. They don’t have cooldowns and burn initiative on miss. We have cooldowns but hold adrenaline.
Thieve’s steal goes on full cooldown if it misses. Pretty much every other mechanic in the game goes on full cooldown if it misses.
You don’t want to waste your skill? Don’t miss. Remove the training wheels and you greatly improve the gameplay for everyone.
And deal with it, Cleansing Ire is pretty mandatory for any serious Warrior in PvP. Pretty much every class has one or two mandatory traits.

So which number are you? Just curious .
Reminds me why it’s so aggravating when wood league gives advice.
Meh throwing a week sucks.
Just wanted to say AR you brought this week on yourselves.
why would SBI need to learn from a server who never reach higher than tier 5? I do learn a lot from Mag, CD, and DB, their siege placement and open field tactic is great. but BP, should I learn the running skill from you?
You need to learn something, because what you are doing now is not working. Unless your goal was to lose, in which case good job.

Necros are very useful in a zerg or GvG fight, as long as you play them right. People who don’t understand them or know what they do usually think they are poor.
A power based build utilising wells and now spectral wall can be used to boon strip through WoC, apply darkness (and chill if traited) with both well of darkness and plague form number 2. Well of power converts conditions on allies to boons and also removes stun now. All the time doing decent damage and decent survivability.
Dont underestimate them. If you do, you probably don’t know much.
With the new way blind works it’s so strong right now. It’s helpful to have one or two eles, but that’s it. Necro is so much stronger now than people realize. The fear bombs were already strong, but they are just crazy powerful right now.
It’s cool if the OP likes ele more, but useful it would have to be the necro.

I’m really not upset with the developers for this decision, it’s more disappointment in the amount of griefing I’ve seen and heard about. I overestimated the community and thought we were better than that. =/
Better than what? PvPing inn a PvP zone?
The way I look at it is I don’t really enjoy the PvE nonsense that much. So this is a way of rewarding PvP players with loot bags.
No you shouldn’t. It’s too hard. Why would you even think of doing something that is slightly challenging???
(gamers these days….)
Step into spvp, tpvp, or even wvw THAT is a challenge. Carebears are always quick to assume that PvE is “challenging”.
Anyone seriously offended by people pvp-ing in a pvp zone needs to take a step back and calm down.
Why you would expect others to adjust their playing according to your desire and contrary to the rules of the game is completely beyond my understanding.
Why? Because Aetherblade doesn’t have anything to do with WvWvW. Then they put it in WvWvW totally randomly.
People who have lost their keep can’t even go in the Puzzle at all. And if you can go in, you get camped and killed.
Why not put Legendary Mobs at every cache.. maybe 5 at least or more. So we never make it.
They give us PvE content in a WvWvW envoirment. If your server is losing you can kiss that achievement goodbye. Maybe people like you don’t mind it. But people like me do, I want to have everything completed. I don’t care about the meta being 12 or 4. I want everything, just to feel good myself.
Like I said in the post I made: Give us an immunity that we can get the achievement without being disturbed. But that also means not be able to opens the Mistwrought Chest. The immunity stops the moment you use a waypoint or leave the instance. So you can’t put it out yourself. You click it you have it untill you leave the instance. Or use the waypoint. This way people can do it. And the WvWvWers can fight each other.
Give you immunity. Is that a joke? How about give people that play mainly wvw immunity so we can do the stupid pve dungeons with ease. No?
Guys you don’t need the achievement, but if you come for it expect to die. When you step out of carebear land you are asking for what you get. I think it’s already enough that the carebears benefit from people who spend tons of time, effort, and gold in wvw..
That’s like picking on the smallest kid in class for fun. And that’s never cool.
No it’s like the smallest kid in the class joining the wrestling team and then complaining if he gets beaten.

I haven’t run Altruistic Healing since November. Don’t need it, don’t want it, enjoying the buff to Greatsword Power when I’m not busy demolishing things with sword/shield and staff.
So, y’know.
Learn to play, and the build diversity skyrockets.
Then please tell us your all new original build. I can wait.
I see plenty of build diversity. If by diversity you mean 5 points in one useless tree, or 5 points into another useless tree (for 5 pts). I’m just kidding of course, we all know where to put those other 5 points. Sarcasm aside you are absolutely right OP. This mythical build diversity may exist for other classes, but not for guardian.
