“I wish juvenile wolves were bigger”
Whoa congrats!
And with all the achievements related to Teq’s defeat, too!
Talk to Rox, ask her if she wants your help. She will agree and off you go to find the dragon’s clues, because that’s how you will help her.
She is camping Teq’s spawn, not far from the Waypoint.
Rox is trying to impress Rytlock again.
Let’s go help her.
The ones about the bosses. The first one was for participating on the Teq fight, and you got it or you would be at 5/9 instead. They have no special icon this time it seems.
Poor Teq. His teeth are all over the place :c
Perspective though. In other words, we need another fleet of Pact floating battleships.
Call Kiel. She has one. A stolen one. The one she never gave back.
(No, I am not getting over it)
May Teq be praised.
Res the downed, dead people need to run back.
This. It is not worth the risk. People are not being mean or elitist, it simply is the best strategy.
If you die, waypoint and run back. We need your DPS, but we can’t afford getting more people killed while trying to ress you.
There are many things to do on this fight. You can use your shattering build to protect the people that are using the turrets, for example.
and not get enough damage tagged on tequatl to get credit.
I got gold medal and and spent the whole fight healing people on turrets and killing the risen that attacked them. Didn’t go anywhere near Teq.
There are many things to do on this fight. You can use your shattering build to protect the people that are using the turrets, for example.
Sounds good.
+1
It was SO AWESOME!
We couldn’t even get to 90% of Teq’s health, but it was so much fun! I loved the fight and I can’t wait to try it again and to try the other bosses, too!
Talk like a Pirate Day was something popular IRL back then, and doesn’t have much cultural meaning in the present day. I don’t think it’s coming back. I’m pretty sure other pop culture memes will be implemented some day.
But honestly … it was never a GW1 thing. It was pop culture and they rolled with it.
Exactly. GW2 has a lot of references to pop culture already; references that are somehow relevant and that most people will get. Talk like a pirate day is not so popular anymore.
It is fun, though. It reminds me of Sid Meier’s Pirates. Setting the date on your computer to September 19 would make every single character in the game talk like a pirate, even the governors and their daughters. It amused my younger self.
Some data miners found something about new hairstyles, but that was a while ago. If I could guess, I would say that we are getting new hairs styles for Halloween.
These two look nice, btw. I see that the sylvari is male. I hope there is something similar for female sylvari, it would really fit mine.
I would love too, but for some reason I am having a hard time playing it today. I can barely move and I can’t use the skill 3 correctly, too much lag. It is odd, I usually have no problems with the activity and I play it multiple times, since it is my favourite one of the rotation.
I play it a lot, btw, and I usually win. Too much training during the Bazaar, I guess. I never leave TC for anything, and I still had no problems with this kind of stuff. But then again, it might be because I hardly ever finish after more than two people. Or maybe I was just lucky until now.
Maybe the people that are zapping you and using the shortcuts are just trying to win the race, and not actively trying to make your life miserable. It is a RACE, after all.
Also, please, tell me which shortcuts you think that should not be used and why.
@ Obsidain I hear where your coming from but I’m talking about the future progression in the game. Eventually we are going to see the other Charr homelands (as we are currently in the Iron legion’s). The Asura’s underground homeland as well. The other pale trees for Sylvari (maybe in the Maguuma jungle?). The Far Shiverpeaks for the Norn. So the humans are going to need more land and that’s the point I’m trying to make.
Pretty much this.
I hope that we will get Cantha and Elona someday, so I really don’t see how expanding Ebonhawke in order to build a “New Ascalon” would be a problem. As you said, it is alright to have an expansion or modification of the map that is about only one race, as long as the other races also end up having their own lore eventually. Not everything has to be about every race all the time.
Also, there is a huge difference between “taking back Ascalon” and “building a new kingdom for Ascalonians starting from Ebonhawke”. The first option would not be possible because of the charr. Sure, there could be some kind of vote again to decide who would keep Ascalon, but seeing how humans are popular and how such a big part of the player base simply hate charr, the charr would probably end up homeless (and that wouldn’t be fair IMO). However, the peace treaty grants the humans with Fields of Ruin, and that’s a pretty big map that can be eventually made into a city.
Also, the charr are working on getting rid of the Foefire, and I would like to see this kind of story being developed someday, too. I think it is something that could be done with the Living Story, since it is supposed to happen after the Personal Story.
Being really biased here, but there is nothing I want to see in this game more than a “New Ascalon” being built. The ruins and the ghosts just break my heart.
^Yep, that’s what I was saying. I agree with you.
The background characters will credit Trahearne and the DE, but when the most important characters of the story are crediting you does it really matter if the NPCs that don’t even have a name are not? I really don’t think so.

I’m parking my staff Elementalist at Teq’s spawn right now.
Thank you for sharing, it looks really nice.
Like other people here, I was a bit disappointed when I found out that my necromancer couldn’t use a GS. Trahearne can /jelly :c
Does she have a 3DS?
Doesn’t the 3DS have big warning labels about not letting little people use it?…
The 3D is the problem, and that can be turned off (and locked by the parents at the 3DS Options). Other than that, there is no reason why a kid couldn’t use it. Anyway, next month, the 2DS is coming out and it was made for small children.
My asura has the longest possible ears and she would like that.
+1
So adorable! Now I wish I had a kid, too.
But I really want to finish college first (I don’t have time or money to raise a child). And I would have to find a boyfriend/husband, too. That’s kinda important, the husband part lol
Does she have a 3DS? Or if she doesn’t, are you getting her one (or maybe a 2DS would be better for someone at her age)? Because she would probably love the Zelda OoT remake. Also, new Pokémon games are coming out next month, maybe she would like them too.
(edited by Gabby.3205)
I’ll probably rage quit before even finishing world 3.
That’s a good thing.
1 – Queensdale is not nearly as profitable as higher level areas because the chances to get exotic champion bags are lower. If you try farming champions at Orr or other lvl 80 area, you will see the difference. So yeah, that part is balanced already, even if not everybody knows that.
2 – Why? Because that’s how you want to play? What if other players like to run around with a zerg? You don’t have to think a lot, it is relaxing and a lot of people have fun doing that. Why do you get to tell what should be considered to be fun?
I think the problem is that there is a lack of communication between the farmers and the non-farmers.
There is nothing to be fixed. Jus TELL people on /map that the champion is dead. If your server has a good community, they will be cool with it and just move to the next one. People hate wasting silver waypointing to a champion that someone killed already, so just tell them that the champion is down so they won’t waypoint for nothing.
They are playing the game just like you. Your way of playing is not better than their way. I usually follow the farm train beause I want greens and blues for salvaging for luck. It is fun, relaxing and the people are great. Usually, to be honest, the people that are rude are the ones that are killing the champions without the zerg and that start trolling on /map when someone asks if someobe killed the champion already.

It is possible, I think. The citizens of Ebonhawke see themselves as Ascalonians and do not see Jennah as their queen. I think that expanding Ebonhawke would be the next logical step, after signing the treaty.
It would make me a happy player if ANet went that route.
Awesome. I hope the permanent trend continues.
They have said that year 1 was a lot of temporary stuff and they want to make year 2 more permanent.
This. They were making the recurring festivals during year 1, that’s why so much new content was temporary. A lot of it will return next year.
Ohhh! So it’s because people don’t understand that the Main character ISN’T them and never has been even since the original Guild Wars. The main characters of GW2 are Destiny’s Edge and to a lesser degree Trahearne. We’re just on for the ride.
Exactly. I really like the fact that the main characters depend on us, though. We are not just observing, we are supporting them, helping them. The DE and Trahearne see us as their friends, someone they trust and they know that they can count on. That makes me feel special enough, I don’t have to be the main character.
But I hate Kiel. She did nothing. Her little plan would be good for nothing if it wasn’t for Canach (he destroyed the copies of the contracts), Jory was the one to solve the murder case AND Kiel kept one of the Pact’s stolen ships instead of returning it. She is the only main character that I can not stand.
I don’t get it…
Trahearne is not that bad a guy, why all the hate?
People do not like him mainly because they think he “stole their story”; that Trahearne is the main character of the Personal Story, not the player.
My only problem with him is the voice acting to be honest. He doesn’t sound inspiring, and as the leader of the Pact, he should be. I forgive him, though, because he loves the PC so much and he always make sure that we know how important we are for him. I used to hate him, but now I believe that there are characters that are worse than him (I am looking at you, Kiel). I am not a huge fan of Trahearne, but I don’t mind him that much anymore.
My sides are killing me, this is so funny!
Really, OP, I can’t stop laughing xD
Trahearne’s face… By the gods, this is brilliant!
Sounds good and makes sense.

I’m on my server because I like the community on my server as a whole. I transferred twice to find the community that fit me best and I’m sure I am not the only one. It does not just apply to a small group of friends. I don’t want to have to district hop to find the community I enjoy spending time with. Also you have to consider the RP community that would have to run around trying to find each other in different district overflows. There are large groups of people and guilds, not just a few groups of friends that it would be a real pain to organize getting together in the same place trying to find districts that are not full. I don’t even like having guesting. Maybe if all those guesting folks stopped hopping to the other servers then zones on their server would be more populated.
I agree. I love my server’s community and I really dislike the idea of mixing the servers like that.
About the RP community, I am a roleplayer and I love to simply walk around Divinity’s Reach, randomly finding other people roleplaying and joining the ones that would let me.
It is true that I could do that in overflow. However, being the unofficial RP server, TC is simply the most friendly server for doing that. I know that I might run into trolls that hate RP for unknown reasons anywhere, but it is less likely to happen on TC.
Again: Adds will drop NOTHING. If you want loot, you have to get Teq’s health down. The rewads will increase for every 25% chunk of Teq’s HP.
Edit: Oh right, and you won’t get rewards for the 25% chunks you didn’t help with. Going AFK will not get you the full reward.
(edited by Gabby.3205)
I’m not really sure what you’re getting at. If they added new hats they’d have to add new armor sets. That’s asking a lot more than for a few selfsame masks to be turned into hats
Or they could add hat skins to the gem store, like the three masks that were recently added. I would like that.
There’s room in this game for both your ugly collection of stupid masks and my glorious pointy witch hat. But yes, hats that didn’t make you bald would be good. I think even RuneScape had hairy hats.
Then ask for new hats, not for masks to be replaced by hats.
he looks like godzilla to me
Quick! Stop him before he destroys Tokyo Tyria!
According to Dulfy, Teq “has chance to drop Ascended weapon, with a brand new reskin that are exclusive to Tequatl”.
Reskin. So it is nothing that we hadn’t seen before, just a bit different (color and maybe effects).
Still, I really want to see the reskin. It might be nothing or it might make all the difference in the world for me, like King’s Remembrance, Infinite Wisdom and Knowledge is Power. Since we can’t dye weapons, I really appreciate reskins.
I remember reading from the GW2wiki about Tequatl, that was probably announced at the twitch stream, that each 25% HP drop, Tequatl drops a chest you can loot. At the end of the fight, you get the big bonus chest for completing it.
So in a way, if you just get him to 75%, you’re still rewarded.
Hmm, hadn’t read or heard that part but you’re right. Do we have to actually loot it or does it just appear in our bags? Would be sort of contradictory to the idea of mobs not dropping loot if we have to stop fighting to go loot these percentage drops.
I don’t think Teq will actually drop a chest. It will probably like Scarlet’s invasions: Your final reward increases the more waves you defeated, and it is given to you at the end of the event. I’m guessing “each 25% HP drop, Tequatl drops a chest you can loot” means that, at the end of the event, you will get one chest for each 25% HP, so if you defeat Teq you will get 4 chests at the end (plus the bonus chest).
Hey! Leave my mesmer’s masks alone, she collects them!
But alright, you do have a point. There might be too many masks…
Hats would be cooler if they didn’t make my characters bald, though…
Inb4 Bubbles = Cantha/Hoenn Remakes/Half-Life 3 CONFIRMED.
/nope
I like your theory a lot btw. I really wanted it to be true, but I think this is merely a game play change and won’t have any lore behind it. Let’s hope that I am wrong and that you are right ^^
Books Reading books. Books like those in Elder Scroll.
- While waiting for the next invasion, I can read a book.
- While waiting for party members to get to the dungeon, I can read a book.
- Books makes better collectibles than say… useless Minis, Balloons, Kites, etc.
- Can sell special inventory tag for books that I want to carry around with me.:)
I support this. It would be a nice way to deliver lore, too. There are some books in the game already, but they are too short and we can’t take them with us. Something like TES, like you suggested, would be cool.
I would probably worship the Spirits of the Wild. Their teachings make sense, some of them died/disappeared while trying to protect their followers and the ones that lived are present enough in the material world to make me think that they will always be there for their people. I would revere the memory of the Owl.
Not only are you not the first, Colin spoke about it in his PAX interview. They have people using their off-hours time to work on all the animation issues to do with cloaks because the ANet people want cloaks as badly as the players do.
But there are a lot of issues, so it’s not happening all that soon.
Really? I thought they had ruled cloaks out for now because they were having trouble with the animation for the Charr. Glad they are working on it.
That’s some awesome news, thanks for sharing!
When I spend gold buying a different set of gear for one of my characters so that it will not die so frequently and it will kill things faster, it is alright.
When I spend gold converting it into gems and buying the ICC so that my SAB runs will be faster, it is P2W.
Quite frankly, I can’t see how ANYTHING can ever be considered pay to win in a game with gold→cash conversion. Everything in the store is sold for gold, you just have to convert it first. If paying with real life cash was the only way or if 30g was terribly hard to get in the game, then alright, I could somehow agree with the people that say that this is P2W.
And we kinda made a lot of gold during the last event, and as I said already that gold can be converted to gems so that you can buy the ICC. I’ve got 3 times more money that I had ever had in the game just by getting all the achievements for Scarlet’s Invasions. I can’t imagine how much gold the farmers got.
Switch it out of combat just like every other class. You already have 4 weapons on at one time.
The style changes of the attunements are not enough, though. When playing as an Elementalist, just like any other class, we need both ranged and close combat skills for different situations. I have to carry a staff with me for group events, dungeons and WvW, and I use scepter/dagger for solo. This change would be just a quality of life kind of thing since we wouldn’t have one less slot (or two) than every other class in our bag (except for engie, of course).
^I believe he was saying that american guilds also spam their recruitment message, so I think he knows what spamming means. Because, you know, a lot of guilds do. Just because they are speaking English it doesn’t mean it is not spamming if they keep telling people on /map that they are recruiting every two minutes. Just saying. Carry on.
They said to all Charr players ‘’ wait… we may or may not give you some attention, because humans are better than you ’’ the polite way. At least to me it sounded like that.
It is not that they think the humans are better. The truth is that a big part of the player base hate the Charr. Plus, since they are a beast race, they will never be really popular. The thing is, ANet should have predicted that, so I don’t think “they are not popular” is a good excuse.
Since they decided to make they playable, now they can’t simple ignore them, IMO. If they didn’t want to bother with a beast race, they shouldn’t have made one playable to begin with.
Anyway, I don’t play as a Charr and I probably never will but I wish you guys good luck trying to be listened. With the amount of hate that the Charr get, you guys are going to need it.

About Sylvari changing their appearance, that explains what happened to Canach. I just wish Kiel had mentioned the changes in game (“Canach? What happened to you?” or something).
Overall, it was an interesting interview. Thanks for letting us know about it.
(edited by Gabby.3205)
They drop as a chest with a set stat combo, and you pick the weapon you want of that stat. If you get a Wupwup Weapon Chest, you’ll be able to pick any ascended weapon type with Celestial stat.
The problem I have with this system is that I only use a few different weapon stats across my characters. Berserker, soldier, valkyrie, rabid, rampager, and cleric. There are 17 different stats available for ascended gear (based on the choices the inscription recipe has). So that gives me an 11/17 chance of getting a weapon chest that is useless to me, or at best, significantly throws off my build requiring other gear to be replaced to fix stats.
I usually wouldn’t mind getting a top tier drop of something I can’t use, but I do mind when I can’t even sell it.
IMO, it should have been done the other way round. Instead of it giving us a stat combo and then letting us pick the weapon, it should give us a weapon and let us pick the stat combo. Plus, a lot of people use many different kinds of weapons, but not many different stat combos. Also, the stat combos dictates the color of the skin, and that’s a big deal for some people (like me).
^Do we know the odds already, though? I can’t find it anywhere…
I would be really happy if I could buy ascended weapons with Badges of Honor since WvW is my favorite content of the entire game. I agree that the weapons should be trade-able, too.
Other than that, I would like to see ascended sets with brand new skins to be added to the dungeon vendors someday. I think it would be a great way to introduce new themed skins and to give some incentive for people to run dungeons for tokens.
