Looking at charr’s teeth, yeah, I’m pretty sure they are primarily carnivore, like cats.
That doesn’t mean that eating vegetables would kill them, just that not eating meat would. I mean, as humans, we can chose not to eat meat, but I don’t think the charr can.
You see, dry cat food is made of corn and/or soybean, too, not only fat, meat and bones (though they must have high levels of animal protein). Cat food of better quality also contains other vegetables, like carrots and spinach. This is a very simplistic explanation, there is a lot more in cat food, of course. The point is just that even animals that are primarily carnivorous can eat vegetables.

Trahearne revived me multiple times during my elementalist’s Personal Story. The thing is, he can only revive us if he is alive, so…
He was actually a good character before Claw Island. I mean, in the Sylvari Person Story.

Anyway, I want to know what is going on with him. He is boring and uninspiring, and the voice acting just made everything worse, that’s true. However, he is also the leader of the Pact (unfortunately), and it simply does not make sense for him to simply disappear like this. I mean, a Secondborn was being hunt like an animal while throwing karka at the Consortium and Trahearne said nothing about that. The human queen is celebrating human’s resilience and he didn’t show up for the party. A bunch of pirates + Inquest stole some of the Pact’s ships, we destroyed one of them, Magnus gave another one of them to Kiel instead of giving it back to the pact and Trahearne remained silent!
It just makes no sense. What is going on with Trahearne and the Pact?

Were them in the same map? I did two invasions in Sparkly Fen and only got credit for one of them, so I guess it must be done in different maps.

But yeah, it is ironic. But that’s why I like Scarlet, actually.
I mean, she shows up as a super genius, and she is tricked by a mesmer clone. Not only that, but the way she is defeated inside the playhouse… I mean, I thought she was smarter than that. It is a good thing IMO, it proves that she is not such a mary sue like I was expecting her to be since she can’t live up to her reputation.

I still need one more invasion before going after Faren. I was happy to see that failed ones count too, since I am having a hard time dealing with farmers in overflows.
Well, let them have their fun. Farming invasions will probably end up being nerfed too.
I just wish I could play with my fellow Toasters. I am afraid that if I wait for too long, there will be just a few people doing the event and most of them will be farmers, so I won’t be able to get it done. I guess I will have to settle for the overflows and hope for the best.

Faren is great. He is brave, helpful and he likes a good fight. He is also goofy and full of himself, but really, his heart is bigger than his brain.

Unless she is from another tree, she is most 19 years old, since she is not a Firstborn (we know all the Firstborns already). I don’t think she is a Secondborn either, but let’s go with it, since we don’t know all the Secondborns yet.

And, really, I don’t think that she hates anybody. I think that she is just crazy and sadistic. A psychopath. She enjoys seeing other people suffering and shows no remorse.
Maybe she is doing it for the lols, I don’t know really. This is just speculation, we don’t know her motives yet.

Edit: Wait, no. There are still 3 Firstborns that we don’t know. I’m sorry about that, for a second I thought there were just 9 Firstborns.

She probably does not scale correctly because it would take too long to kill her, causing the event to fail more frequently.
It would be cool if she had her own timer and that it started after killing the waves of minions, so that she could scale correctly and do not cause the event to fail. Three minutes would be enough, I think, and it wouldn’t cause the events to overlap. I mean, worst case scenario: the event started 5:00pm, the overflow was opened at 5:10pm, the players took the whole 45 minutes to defeat the waves, finishing at 5:55pm, then they took the whole 3 minutes to defeat Scarlet, finishing at 5:58pm, just in time for the next invasion.

They could have updated the game 10 minutes earlier or 40 minutes later, then we would all be able to go back to the event.
Luckily, as people said already, we have plenty of time.

Is it really that immersion breaking? Throughout history, people have always come up with shortened or slang versions of names, places, people, &c.

Do you find it odd that people refer to Los Angeles as “LA” all the time? You probably don’t because the abbreviation is used so commonly. It’s the same thing with Divinity’s Reach as “DR”. If anything, I’d say it enhances the immersion because it’s something that the people of such a city might do.

This. Also, Lord Faren referred to Divinity’s Reach as DR when talking to Kasmeer at the beach, in Southsun Cove.

Jennah is the regent of Ascalon therefore it is part of her Kingdom, her kingdom being Kryta this makes Ascalon part of Kryta and abider to the laws of Kryta.

The Fallen Angels are in Ebonhawke because the Queen has interests there (the peace treaty). That’s what one of them says, I’m not just deducing it. Nothing about this statement implies that the Queen governs Ebonhawke.
The people of Ascalon Settlement do not recognize Queen Jennah as their ruler. Talk to them. They are not happy with the presence of the Seraph.

I prefer to take into account information that is in the game.

Edit: The kingdom of Ascalon does not exist anymore. However, the nation of Ascalon does.

The only thing I use my pets for in dungeons that have environmental hazard boss encounters is for healing/buffs/conditions. I usually don’t die a lot, even when my pet is dead, but I hit like a wet noddle.
It is not fun to lose part of your DPS. Luckily, I have other characters to play with. I wish I could use my main for this kind of stuff, though.

So, Ebonhawke can easily be located in Ascalon and still be considered a part of Kryta if Krytan law etc applies there.

But that’s not the case. Ebonhawke is the last remaining vestige of the human’s presence in Ascalon (i.e. the Ascalonian kingdom) and is a separate political entity from the Krytan kingdom. Royals do not enter into alliances with subjects. They enter into alliances with separate political entities.

Unless ANet simply decided to change the lore, which of course they can do anytime. I mean, Jennah’s announcement might include that Ebonhawke was just incorporated to Kryta.

This is what I am hoping for: A cinematic showing the Queen being killed in the middle of her speech. Logan is desperate, but Anise tells us that wasn’t the real Queen, calming him down. Along with Logan and Anise, we go to a new 5-men dungeon where we are trying to get to her before the Aetherblades. When we finally find her, she is fighting Scarlet (the Queen is a powerful mesmer, so she would be able to keep herself alive for quite a long time). We then help the Queen defeating Scarlet.

It is not out yet. It might be the most awesome update in the history of ever or it might be “Canach’s Lair” kind of bad.
Just one more day. Let’s see what we get. I have this feeling that ANet wants it to look “lacking” just to surprise us with something awesome. I am hoping for a dungeon.

Actually, it doesn’t matter. I remember something about a king from Spain ruling Portugal in the past, and Portugal was still Portugal, not Spain. There was also that portuguese king that left his son in Brazil, and that prince (as a king) later declared independency from Portugal (Brazil then became a country ruled by a portuguese king).
Ebonhawke is still Ascalon, not Kryta.

The only thing I can think for water attunement is something like Scald (Pokémon), which is basically squirting scalding water on your target for some damage and a chance to cause burn.
The rest of them, no clue… Maybe something related to heat waves and lava for air and earth…
Alright, everything I said is all somehow related to fire. I think it is hard to get away of it when you are talking about torches.

I don’t mind World Exploration not being acc. bound because the title for it is.
The dyes had to be account bound. If not all of them, at least the rarer ones (like the Flame and Frost themed). Seriously, they are ridiculously expensive.

WvW rank should be acc. wide IMO, and since we are at it, Fractal progression should, too. I play with all my seven characters and I hate having to pick one for WvW and one for Fractals. I wish I could just go like “Hmm, today I feel like playing my Elementalist in WvW”. Right now, I’m like “I want to play my Elementalist in WvW, but my Ranger is the one with the WvW abilities and it would take too long to get them again in another character”.

I believe you’ll find that Ebonhawk was the last outpost being held against the Char by the Krytans before the dragons awoke. It IS a “Krytan” outpost that happens to reside on Ascalonian soil.

No. It is the last outpost being held against the Charr by the Ascalonians. Go there, talk to the npcs.
They are getting help from the queen of Kryta, Jennah, and her Seraph (The Fallen Angels), but they have their own guard (Ebon Vanguard) and they consider themselves independent from Kryta, politically speaking. It is the same with the Ascalon Settlement (North of LA), even though the Ascalon Settlement is technically in Kryta.

It is pretty easy to me, but that’s because my norn is in Vigil, my sylvari is in Priory and my other 5 characters are in the Order of Whispers because it is the best order (yes, yes it is).
I understand however that this can be useful, so +1
Also, I would like to have an icon on the Heroes window for my order just because. It could be placed right next to the personality icon.

Like everybody else, I disagree.
Warriors already have the best potential damage outcome of the game. Next you will want warrior’s melee skills to be unblockable because a guardian killed you while kiting with a scepter and using his blocking skills…

I usually level my alts in WvW, so I have to say no to this. Don’t worry, I might not be a pro but I know what I am doing, even when with a low lvl character. TC’s commanders never cared much if the zerg had multiple low levels, or at least the ones that I run with never did. We have a lot of fun, it is much better than farming events around the world or exploring, specially since I have 100% of map completion with my main already.

You see, it is my favourite way of leveling. I would be really upset if that was taken away from me. Granted, I am out of character slots right now and I just finished leveling my latest alt, but I might buy another slot someday.

What class are we talking about here. Multiple classes have greatswords and they all use them differently. Each race also holds and uses the weapon differently.

Female norn and human rangers, mesmers, guardians and warriors hold the GS in the way the OP described. These are the only ones I can confirm because I have a human/norn of these classes, but I suppose it is the same with sylvari.
I agree with the OP. It looks that my characters are painfully dragging their greatswords around, specially my mesmer and my guardian (but that’s because of how slow they both are).

You don’t see it coming? Alright, I don’t watch the TV series, maybe they never hinted it but I read all the books and the story certainly built up to it. Since Robb showed up with that girl, I was sure he had just lost the war. And you know, you win or you die. Also, there was that ritual that Stannis performed that killed two other "kings" before getting to Robb (according to Melisandre, it doesn't matter how it happens, as long as it happens). And when Robb left his wolf outside? Well, I said "that's it, he is dead". The Red Wedding was not half as bad in the book, too (Jeyne wasn't even there, and she sure wasn't pregnant. She never died in the books, also, and she is the reason for someone to be somewhere when something happen, though I'm not spoiling it).

Anyway, back to the topic, I don’t think Jennah will be killed, but I think that a lot of citizens will. Maybe some ministers.
She will probably be safely hiding somewhere else and just her clone will be “killed”. Just like Logan thought for a moment that she was killed during the CM story mode, I am expecting him to freak out again next week. There surely will be a lot of drama.

Scarlet seems to think that killing people and spreading chaos is a lot of fun. Also, villains that act like if our days were numbered by using the sounds of a clock for that, like if it was a joke, usually are pretty sadistic. Also, the rhymes.
But maybe I’m biased because Dr. Seuss’s stories used to creep me out when I was little.

That would be an important step, IMO. I still hope that we will be able to build a “New Ascalon” someday (by expanding Ebonhawke), and the peace treaty must be signed for that to happen. Hey, it is totally possible, ok? Well… A girl can dream…

But if is to ask about races forgotten, where is asura participation? Only if you consider SAB a living world content. (Its not, its only a simple game for distraction, has anything interesting in LS).

We should have more good asura characters. They don’t even have to be main characters, but just if they were likeable, I would be fine with it. Almost all the asura I like are dead or vanished forever after the Personal Story, and I can’t stand most of the asura characters that are still alive. Yes, I played the asura PS. Yes, I still hate their society, I still can’t forgive Zojja for torturing Eir and their political system is so corrupted that it makes me sick.
They are funny, yes, but I wish there were more asura characters that made me say “Oh boy, I hope this guy will show up again later” instead of “Why can’t this pretentious insect die already?”. That doesn’t mean that I want humble asura, since I know that’s pretty much impossible, and just want deeper personalities, that’s all.

I hope so. I have over 100 of them with a character that I am still leveling, and she is not going to use them simply because I won’t be able to get her ready to get in the Gauntlet in time. If only they were acc. bound instead of soulbound…

It is not random. You will get the quests in order, per balloon. Pick a balloon and wait.
Also, the type of the champion will not repeat for the same balloon until the other champion types were defeated, so it is not random either.

I don’t remember the order of the events, but it might be like this:
Escort, flying ship, champion (and repeat, being a different champion each time).
I camped the balloon in Queensdale that is closer to the Monastery and that’s how I got all the champions.

Canach is a sylvari secondborn and a really interesting character IMO. He was the “villain” of the Southsun Cove bit of the Living Story and it is a shame that his story was not really well delivered in game (loved the short story). I would like to see him again someday.
I have high hopes for Scarlet, now, but I wouldn’t mind if a well developed sylvari hero would come around instead of another villain. I really love Rox and Braham and I would like to see more characters like them instead of boring, plain characters like Kiel. Another sylvari Mary Sue? I will pass. Interesting sylvari character with an intriguing background and a catchy personality? Yes, please!

I know people will hate me for this, but I kinda want to know what is going on with the Pact and how Trahearne is doing. I also would like to know why didn’t he ask Kiel for his ship back, you know, the one that the Aetherblades stole and that Magnus gave to Kiel instead of returning it to the Pact.

Just keep the 3 maps like they are for people that are still doing their personal stories. Just like they sort people into overflows (guests having bigger chances of getting in overflow), sort people into “risen orr” and “healing orr”, based solely on the existence or not of the green reminder at the top right. People that already finished the personal story on that character will enter a different map, a map that will be affected by the Living Story and will slowly heals.

Really, if we can’t heal Orr, rebuild Ascalon (by expanding Ebonhawke), finally finish signing the peace treaty or get rid of the Foefire because of the Personal Story, then I see no use for the Living Story. At all.
Better warn Trahearne that he did something wrong, or the Charr that their efforts are useless because they won’t be able to get rid of the ghosts.

Every map is an instance where multiple players can enter whenever they want. Every. Single. Map. It is not really an “open world” like it is with some other MMOs (with no portals and absolutely no division in between maps). It shouldn’t be so hard to do something like that. Really, the way it is right now, it simply makes no sense.

I am all for new maps, but I really prefer the existing ones to make sense before making new ones. So that’s a +1 for the OP.

Just one thing: Tarnished Coast is not only good for everything, it is also the unofficial roleplaying server. You are going to see a lot of people talking and acting like if they actually were their characters. I hope you don’t mind (and join the fun).
The only problem with TC is that it is always full! You might be able to get in early in the morning, in the middle of the week. Good luck!

Cantha still exists. We just lost contact with it, partially because of a xenophobic government, but mostly because of the rise of Zaithan.
From the Wiki: “The only proof that Cantha still exists are sporadic sailors washing ashore on the Tarnished Coast.”

Of course, ANet might change that whenever they want and decide that they want Cantha gone for good.

I like the theory presented by the OP, but it seems that Scarlet is a sylvari (unless the “mysterious figure” turns out to be someone else). Of course, I am all for Cantha and for Conspiracies, so let me grab my tinfoil hat and see where this is going.
