And that Charr steam-tech makes them equivalent to Asura, just in a different way? Asura excel at the insides, but most of their creations lack the durability or usability of Charr steam tech. So they don’t need to pay Asura exorbitant prices?
Let me quote a character of the Norn’s personal story. The character is a Charr.
“This is frontline Iron Legion equipment, not asuran crystal-magic rainbow trash.”
And that’s why “asuran crystal-magic rainbow trash” is not everywhere in the game. The other races seem to despise it. However, since they are one of the main races, there was really no way to keep the asuran stuff out of the game (I mean, other than completely eliminating the asura).

They very clearly stacked it against him. I bet they would have had no idea what to do if he’d won because they clearly didn’t intend him to.
Nope, I’ve very sure they knew what to do if he won. As for it being stacked against him? All they needed to do was one sentence, and it would have been stacked in his favor irrepairably:
“I’m Tybalt Leftpaw and I endorse this candidate.”
And/or “I’m Marshal Trahearne and I support Ellen Kiel”.
I agree with you.
…Really?
Have you ever been to Rata Sum?
It seems to be a bit brutal, but hey, at the first glance I thought she had actually imprisoned sentient being just for them to be slaughtered by adventurers. When I realized they were just robots, it was a relief.
Still, yes, I would have never expected gladiatorial combat from Jennah.
I’m more concerned with the fact that Anise almost killed Logan. She sure has a cruel sense of humor. What was she trying to prove anyway? I know it wasn’t her fault that the robot stopped obeying her commands, but still, Logan lowered his guard when he saw Rytlock. He hesitated, and that could have killed him even if the robot had not have been tampered with. I’m sure someone as smart and cunning as Anise would know that seeing Rytlock wouldn’t be good for Logan.
She also does Twilight Sparkle from MLP. I heard this from a friend of course.
“A friend”, of coooourse…
Nobody here watches MLP.
Nobody at all.
I’m starting to like this Tara even more!
Tara is also Omi, the Xiaolin Dragon of Water, of Xiaolin Showdown, for the people that still remember that wonderful show.
NONSENSE! Turn him into that norn’s pet! He’ll understand what adventure is and say things “never felt so alive” “where are we traveling next, master” :P
An unusual norn hunter
This is the best idea ever.
Please make it happen.
Rainbow Sprint does have a point. Tara is famous like most voice actors can’t even dream to be.
Next you are going to hire John de Lancie, Tabitha St. Germain and Stephen Merchant (Wheatley, Portal 2).
I wouldn’t mind lol
Ohh I thought that I just had just watched too much Tiny Equines of Mine.
Glad to know that other people think that it is Tara Strong’s voice, too.
It seems so. There is a conversation between a Zephyrite and a Sylvari, they are just next to Kiel, and the Zephyrite seems to be confused about the Sylvari “awakening” instead of being born.
That Sylvari probably just joined them. Like, last month. Literally.
It could be the other way round, too. I mean, who knows if Evon supporters are not just a very vocal minority?
There are many players that don’t even read the forums, and many others are just forum lurkers. Just a few people actually post. I would like to know the real percentage, though. Like, how many people vote for each candidate instead of how many votes were deposited in the urns.
It seems that this will be easier for classes that have easy access to stability and that can usually take more hits. Like, well, guardian.
I would take my guardian there and pick Exhausted, Squeamish, Tremors, Hamstring and Crowd Favorite, I guess.
Are waypoints even acknowledged by the official lore? I thought they were just a gameplay convenience.
I’m sure he meant the arena will be updated to support future event themes. You may see it 3-4 times a year.
You think so? Because that would be wonderful. Way better than commemorating every single year of the Queen’s reign for now on, IMO.
That being the case, I wonder if the themes of the decoration will change, too. That would be a nice touch.
^Please, read my third post so that you will see that I know a thing or two about history.
Again, just because everybody does that, it doesn’t mean I have to like that. There are more urgent matters that a simple boost on the people’s mood cannot solve. That’s coming from a girl living in a third world country where people seem to forget about all the corruption when our government throws breadcrumbs and festivities at us.
A funny thing is that I was just walking past the carnival in Divinity’s Reach and I talked to a npc. He complained about Caudecus “throwing a party while there were still so many threats to the people”. It seems that only the Queen can throw a party (again, in honor of herself) and get away with it.
I’m throwing myself on the floor, hugging the Zephyrite’s feet, crying my heart out and begging them to take me with them.
Later, I might tie myself to the flying ship. Yes, that’s going to work
Seriously, now. I stocked up some cooking ingredients and quartz crystals, since I will only be able to get them from my home instance once a day until the Zephyr Sanctum comes back, it seems.
First of all, I don’t think Jennah is a bad ruler. She is not the first (or last) ruler to throw a party in honor of herself. However, I do disagree with her priorities.
And, I’m sorry, but it is always about money.
Beggars and refugees are right under her nose. Go ahead, blame the ministers, they are as corrupt as the Arcane Council, that’s true, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t the queen who “broke” it. As a ruler and a symbol of hope and guidance to her dying people, she must fix it.
So it can’t be fixed. Alright then, since it can’t be fixed, let’s just throw a party to make people forget about how hungry they are, or how the centaurs burned their crops and the bandits poisoned their water! That’s a common strategy used by every single government ever, but just because everybody does that, it doesn’t mean I must agree with that.
Could be worse, we could be like Joss Whedon.
Could be worse, could be like George R. R. Martin.
He is not that bad, actually. All my favourite characters are still alive by the end of book 5.
J. K. Rowling, on the other hand, killed everybody I ever loved.
Yes, it could be worse.
Wolf’s teeth, people, this is nothing game breaking (for now) O_o
It is just one fractal. One tiny piece of the history of Tyria.
Why does it matter so much? I understand that you guys wanted to see Abaddon’s fall, I wanted both fractals tbh, but we can’t always get what we want. Win some, lose some.
Maybe you guys will enjoy the new fractal after giving it a try. Who knows? Maybe you will even hope for it to show up, like how I always hope for Cliffside because it is so epic.
Petitions are not allowed by the Code of Conduct on these forums. Beware of this. I got 1 Infraction Point simply because of this.
But the petition is to a fictional character, not to a dev, ANet or NCsoft. This thread looks like a lore/roleplaying discussion thread ATM. I don’t think it is against the Code of Conduct. It would be different if it was like “Petition to ANet: Plz make flying pig mounts with lasers kill Trahearne”.
If the second version is permanent and different enough, then yes, people would love it.
So people would rather have peaceful (?) pointless maps that we have already visited than venturing deeper into Maguuma or towards the Crystal Desert?
It doesn’t have to be peaceful or pointless.
We can still face krait, hostile hylek, wurms, bandits, separatists, renegades, pirates, spiders, giant crabs, barracudas, sharks and/or whatever that used to live there before it sunk. Besides, Orr was beautiful, and I certainly want to see some of that beauty to come back to the game.
And the point would be making the personal story have an impact. Otherwise, someone should probably warn Trahearne that he did something wrong x)
I would like to see new maps, of course, but I prefer to have fewer maps that make sense (lore-wise) than a lot of maps with many loose ends. Again, this is my personal opinion.
Oh I know how they could do it technically. But do we really think people would like the idea of them spending months on making new versions of already existing maps rather than working on new maps?
You are right, I can’t speak for everybody. I know I would LOVE it, but that’s just me. It is just that if feels so weird that we helped cleaning Orr, but nothing changed.
from a lore and role-playing perspective, i think i would rather see players outside the arena boycotting this event. if Queen Jennah is so irresponsible with her coffers that she can’t afford to operate this new monument to herself for only two weeks a year, maybe she isn’t fit to rule.
Quite frankly, I don’t think ANY ruler should waste money on a celebration for themselves. And every single year? Really? I mean, Jennah could put that money to good use, like pushing the centaurs away from DR’s doorstep, hiring more people to keep the bandits away from the farmers and from the water supply, rebuilding that lady’s vineyard… And that’s just Queensdale.
You know what needs to disappear? The corruption in Orr.
While the Living Story evolves, Orr is frozen in time. Just doesn’t make any sense.
And how much sense would it make doing the personal story for new players if there are no Risen nor a corrupted Orr?
Pretty much in the same way that there are overflows, there could be two versions of Orr. People that finished the PS would be put on the new map, that would continue to be “healed” and developed. People that still have to finish the PS will go to the old map, all corrupted and full of risen.
They could do the same to Ascalon. Otherwise, we would never find a way of getting rid of the ghosts of Ascalon because of the Charr personal story.
I’m not saying that it is something that we MUST HAVE. I’m just saying that it would make sense. It would be nice to heal Orr, to rebuild Ascalon (on the Fields of Ruin only, since the Charr will keep the other maps) and/or Owl’s Lodge (the Owl is dead, but her teachings are not).
So, it is a festival like Dragon Bash, Wintersday, etc. Alright! I can deal with it. The LS updates will still overlap the festivals, right? I have no problem with that.
We have been complaining about temporary content since Flame and Frost’s dungeon months ago. This isnt something new.
And that’s why the dungeon will come back as a fractal.
I’m sure that all the people working on the LS already know that people like to go to message boards on the internet and complain about games/content they didn’t play yet.
That being the case, I hope that they will only start to consider our feedback as legit complaints after the event goes live. Meanwhile, it is just mindless whining.
There is a globe inside the Chantry of Secrets.
Okay thank you. I was able to get them done today thanks to someone reading my other post :] These bugs still remain unacceptable…
It was me (with my warrior, Lilly Brown) ^^
We did lvl 2 because someone told us that only even lvls end with the Jade Maw.
It’s not a bug, if you perceive it as a bug, then you should probably stop exploiting the game by looting things.
I don’t get it. How appearing offline while you are actually online is not a bug?

WHERE IS MY TINFOIL HAT
My theory: Nosferatu was flickering the lights.
I’m sure they won’t, but I’d have no problems if Traherne is assassinated or is sacrificed. :b
Oh please, NO. The last thing that Mary Sue need is to become a martyr. That would make me so mad!
I just want him to go back to his mom and leave us alone.
The population cap of the servers were increased twice, I think, but since TC does EVERYTHING (seriously, it is not just because I am a Toaster myself), it always ends up being full again. I assure you that the quality of our RP is fantastic, too.
The population of the server is determined by not only the number of accounts linked to the server, but also the number of people online. You might be able to get in early in the morning, during a weekday.
Good luck, and I hope to see you there soon ^^
Edit: Also, keep trying even if the server is showing as “Full”. You might get in on that split second when a spot opens up. I know a person that joined us today, after all.

Listen to what Lokheit has to say. The Living Story and the Personal Story cannot contradict one another. -snip-
Just before starting Flame and Frost, it was said that the LS could be confusing for people that didn’t finish the personal story. Yes, it is due to contradictions. I think the example used was “x npc is suddenly bad”.
Since it has been a while since that was said, I can’t find the link right now. I wonder if anybody else remembers that. My memory might be trolling me, too.

I wonder if we will ever reach that floating castle. At all.
I like mysteries, but not when they go years unresolved, and that’s the case.
If Logan stayed, would the fight really have turned out differently? I’ve seen the guy fight, he hits like a wet noodle, must be full vitality/toughness with like 20 power.
We can’t know for sure, but he was the one that should protect Snaff.
Snaff and Krakatorrik were having a mental duel, and Snaff was able to hold Krakatorrik down before being tore apart by the dragon’s army.
Let me speculate a little:
Best case scenario: Logan would have been able to protect Snaff, and Krakatorrik would be dead. Jennah would use her OP mesmer powers to fool the army of charr and human into rescuing her, even without Logan to command them. The peace between charr and human would come from the teamwork and friendship of Logan and Rytlock, not from Jennah. Glint and Snaff would be alive.
Worst case scenario: Snaff, Glint, Logan and Jennah die. Zojja and Rytlock blame Eir because that’s what people do when they fail; they blame their leader. Charr and humans would never become allies. Tengu would be a playable race instead of charr.
Most likely scenario, IMO: They kill Krakatorrik because Logan was capable of keeping Snaff alive for long enough. Glint also survives. Jennah dies, and despite Logan and Rytlock’s friendship, charr and human never officially become allies because the new king, a minister, do not like the charr. We get tengu as a playable race instead of charr, but there are a few friendly charr in the world.
What do you mean, Idad? The person that suggested kites got exactly what he/she wanted: Kites in the game.
If you think that the suggestions are intellectual property of the player that made them, please read the Section 6 – Intellectual Property, b: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/
We all accepted these terms.
Guild Wars 2 dragons = Logan and Jennah’s fault. I did my part in taking down Zhaitan. Logan just went along for the ride.
There is a theory that Jennah used her powers as a mesmer to make Logan’s little crush becomes an obsession. If that’s the case, I can’t bring myself to blame Logan for running back to her.
I thought that was debunked way back in the past?
She didn’t use magic to snag the guy, he’s just naturally stu——I mean in love with her. lol
Was it? I’m sorry, I didn’t know that. I thought Jennah was a powerful mesmer or something, but it has been quite a while since the last time I looked into this kind of information (actually, I think it was before launch), so something may have changed.

Also, it was only Kralkatorrik. We can’t be sure that the Destiny’s Edge would be able to kill any other dragon. However, if Snaff and Glint were still alive, maybe they could have a chance. At least there would be no reason for Zojja to psychologically torture Eir like she did. I think the Pact would be necessary either way.
Edit: Also, before anyone starts saying that “It was Eir’s fault, she should have just cancelled the attack”, Krakatorrik was coming for Glint already. Eir could either run away and let Krakatorrik simply slay Glint or go ahead and try. Without Glint, they wouldn’t have such a chance again, so the best choice was obvious, though risky. True, Glint died, and so did Snaff, but even though that may seem to us that Eir had a choice, she actually had not. Note that the Zephyrites speak very highly of Eir and do not blame her for Glint’s death. That’s probably because they know what was going on (unlike Zojja, it seems).

I think that important members of the government being assassinated and replaced successfully pass that feel that the world is alive, which is the main objective of the Living Story, but at the same time it reminds us that Tyria is going through very difficult and dangerous times.
That being said, I don’t think that the Queen will be murdered, but I wouldn’t complain if she was. It would be a pleasant surprise.
The only characters on my list of “Please do not kill, I beg you” are Trahearne (because the last thing that Mary Sue needs is to be a martyr), Eir, Braham, Canach, Laranthir, Doern Velazquez, Lord Faren, Rox and Caithe (because I like them a lot, all of them).
Just one thing… They are not removing MF from the game completely. There will be a new system that uses consumables to raise your account’s MF. Let’s wait and see what will happen to our MF sets. What if they let people that have soulbound MF sets salvage these sets to obtain said consumables? I would be ok with that.
Because I don’t like being selfish, that’s why. I actually do have a MF set, for solo farming for materials. But, while I would never use it in a dungeon, some people would, and having a “selfish stat” goes against the cooperative nature of the game. You’re getting kitten over us stating the reasons why Anet is removing it, I don’t recall judging you at any point. Though it is amusing to see you get so worked up.
Same here. For each one of us that only use MF set for solo farming, there are many others that blatantly lie about their sets when entering a dungeon/fractal group and end up dragging back the whole group. Quite frankly, it is like entering a high level Fractal with no AR but pinging through chat codes gear that do have AR. This is not okay.
I am hoping that my MF set will be replaced by something useful and become acc. bound instead of soulbound, since I already have an exotic main set for the character that have the MF set, which is only rare.
Worst case scenario, to the Mystic Toilet it goes, I guess.
Can you elaborate?
The existing npcs that are peacekeepers, legionnaires, acolytes and wardens already have their own class (one of the existing ones), despite the titles, and “Wildlings” sounds like it could be pretty close to rangers.
I have nothing against race specific classes per se, but I don’t think we need any new class anytime soon. I mean, I would like you to tell me about these classes that you want so I can try to imagine how would they work.
You are welcome ^^
I really dislike the hat and the shoulders of this set, but I love the top and the leggings. Too bad that it clips with my favourite boots (Ascalonian Catacombs), or my Mesmer would be wearing that already.
You mean the girl with the double swords?
She is wearing human cultural tier 2 (light).
It is confirmed that Motto has been working on new worlds and that the SAB will soon be available again.
Relevant and funny: https://twitter.com/Lord_Vanquish
(yes, it is official, or at least the first time I heard of this was when a dev posted the link)
Edit: I hope that the Pointy Stick will come back with an update that is called “Pointier Stick” for no reason whatsoever, and a second upgrade called “Pointiest Stick”.
(edited by Gabby.3205)
Some of the suggestions were implemented into the game already, so there must be someone listening.
Kites, new dance moves, new musical instruments, Kasmeer’s armor, more hairstyles (soon), a place to store tokens, better visibility of red circles and LS dungeons returning as fractals are some of the suggestions that I saw here way before they were implemented/promised by devs/datamined.
Please, tell me which sets look like ball gowns, since I’ve been looking for one for my mesmer since ever. Every single long skirt in the game is either skimpy, tattered, made of foliage, have pants underneath or are male only (I wish my mesmer could wear the male version of the Winged Pants).
I’m all for new armor skins of every style, seriously, and I understand your opinion, which is completely valid. I’m just stating mine.
I agree with the rest of the post, except for the Steampunk part because I love the style.
^ I always was under the impression that Jennah friendzoned Logan. And used some kind of spell on him, too, because she needed a hero that could outrun a centaur. She is a powerful mesmer, right?
I don’t like her. I am voting for her because I am hoping that she will be gone of the Living Story forever after taking the council seat, since she will be (hopefully) too busy with politics to run around having adventures and stealing other npcs’ credits/ships (Trahearne must be slightly upset right now, and Marjory should be, too).
I was going to vote for Evon because of the fractal, but I was convinced by some people here that the other fractal might be as interesting as Abaddon’s fist fall.
Can anyone remind me where Canach is?
Rotting in an invisible jail next to Mai.
Probably using one of Evon’s total makeover kits… again.
I wonder if we will ever hear of him again. I was pretty disappointed that Kiel didn’t notice his radical change. I mean, she could have said something like “Canach? Is that really you? What the hell happened to you?”. Anything.
Since nothing about his radical change was mentioned in game, I’m assuming that ANet changed his appearance because evil people must be ugly, it seems, and then hoped that we wouldn’t notice.
Like if it wasn’t enough to change Tybalt’s mane along the storyline.
The use that I can see for this new device is that a necromancer would be able to portal people up to stupidly high places, since a necromancer can use F1 before hitting the ground and avoid the fall damage. That will be specially useful for the diving googles at the Aetherblade JP.
About “cheating”, I don’t know about you guys, but I think that adding a Portal Gun to the game and the fact that it cannot be used in WvW can only mean that that’s what ANet want us to use it for (for JPs, not WvW, I mean).
Just remember: Don’t touch the operational end of the device. Don’t look directly at the operational end of the device. Don’t submerge the device in liquid, even partially. Most importantly, in under no circumstances should you—BZZT.
