Monks draw power from the bloodstones like other spellcasters, I don’t think this is related to the gods at all. Ofc they are related at some point, but only humans ans with this reason, mesmers and necros should have disappered as well. It is realted to the removal of healers. Face it :p
We all understand the reason they did it. The OP was asking what the lore behind it was.
And that’s all the lore behind it.

Also if we want to use the new condi, we have to go to DS, cast it, and leave ds to continue applying dots. This means we can’t enter out defensive mechanic in the next 10 secs. Can be an intresting new mechanic to deal with but only if DS 5 is worth the risk.
It’s very strange to call it a new mechanic…. How is it new when in current practice(depending on the build) you burn your 10 second DS CD to get fury, stability, cast dark path, cast doom, proc the wekening shroud and etc.? How can it be called new?
Noone uses up DS just to cast these (except for stability before stomping). Fury is useless as a condi nec, usually if you are using up DS you are in trouble. Tp proc weakening shroud means that you are in the middle of the fight which isn’t the place a condi nec should be, and even leaving shroud in that sitation is the worst idea.

The Suspears were the defenders of Elona, and that’s what they did when Palawa invaded. However, they failed, almost got wiped out. The remaining ones surrendered and joined Palawa’s army as a unit called the Mordant Crescent.
I don’t think any of them left or that they made another bases in another continents.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
What I fear is that they will put the defensive mechanics to DS. For first it sounded great, but DS 2 can be useful for chill and bleed, however if they make it a Blink then it’s a change i welcome, and hopefully they will consider the fear (skill 3) a defensive mechanic and keep it, but our skill 4 is the thing that worries me.
Not the best skill in-game and can be interrupted easily not to mention it has an epic huge CD, but still as a condi nec it is our best and almost only working counter against engi turrets, mesmer clones and other summoned foes.
If they take that out, we will have some new problems.

The whole community, just like me, had been waiting for ratings for long. When it first arrived, some were happy, some expected more (titles, rewards, observer mode and so on).
But now we got to the point where it is impossible to find a team for tPvP, even in Desolation, EU’s PvP server. Everyone claims not to care about his/her rating, but still too afraid to risk it, and never teams up with players not even if his core team is offline.
Since we only have rated tournaments, people keep disappearing into the catacombs of hotjoin. It takes more than 1 hour to make a pug team.
Another reason for this can be that you can look for an r40+ team, but nothing ensures they are good, since they can just come in straight from PvE and farm it in hotjoin, so players are afraid to group up with strangers. Ofc, nothing ensures that they are good even without hotjoin, but would be ways more relyable.
We seriously need an unrated tournament.
On the other hand, hotjoin. Conquest is the only gamemode where you can grind rank and still won’t learn anything. You won’t learn tactics, opponent classes’ mechanics and not even how to survive if you are just keep running from one circle to another, yet it is the most effective way of gaining PvP rank. Tournaments, where you must improve yourself to be good, could be a solution.
Hotjoin takes no skill, and makes PvP rank worth nothing.
Or the Heroes’ Ascent system for tournaments (or just bring back HA ), where you get your reward based on consecutive wins, therefore high rank=many consecutive wins=a good player. And not just time spent in hotjoin.

Immobilize allows you to use your skills, fear doesn’t. So fear is both a condition and a stun effect.

+1 to dragonball gvg.
Oh wait, we got no gvg.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
He isn’t there. Yeah, hate charrs, but best NPC in GW2, liked him
I hope he will be written back somehow, but not likely to happen
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Naive. Just naive. gems are profit. And PvE guys don’t buy gems for gold, they buy gem from OTHER PEOPLE who bought gems for real money. Who would pay with gems for glory, a currency that is totally worthless and stacks up so fast.
You can get the event gear’s pvp version from match win chests.
We need a method to get gold from pvp. With items we can sell.

In the case of Kryta, I don’t think Kryta has any maritime presence on the Sea of Sorrows to speak of any more. It’s questionable whether Garrenhoff is actually Krytan in any real sense, leaving the towns on Lake Viathan – of which only one is intact – the closest thing to a Sea of Sorrows port for Kryta… and Treemarch Estuary doesn’t exactly look navigable to ocean-going vessels (and then it’s blocked by the Dominion of Winds anyway). So Kryta might simply not care about LA-based piracy because there are no Krytan ships to raid.
Of course, the big question regarding LA post-Zhaitan is just who are they raiding. The sylvari nation has only existed for twenty-odd years, the Rata Sum port is on the other side of Orr, and the only other major nation on the SoS that isn’t dragon minions or an LA protectorate is the isolationistic Dominion of Winds. With the availability of land routes and the asura gates, there really shouldn’t be enough maritime shipping on the Sea of Sorrows to sustain nearly as many pirates as we’ve seen since the raising of Orr.
Which is probably why so many of them have turned to raiding instead.
Garenhoff is Krytan. Deal with it. But it’s just a very small trading port.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
LA is led by pirates, and even the Covington ones can use the city, even after stealing the ship of a member of the Captains’ Council. Until they break the city laws.
The city of pirates isn’t a place where you shoul hide if you are a pirate Rather if you are a filthy landlubber. Yarr!

How it affected charr is actually rather interesting, given the fact that it affected cows and cats in a similar manner to humans.
The Ascalonian Tactical Ghost Cow Force. Something with power worth compared to airships.

They’ve been nerfed to make other races to feel better by removing things from the lore, like they are no longer credited with creating the world.
However, controlling the elements, having power over your soul, having their own realms, and also having the ability to give magic or seal that away from every single race is something that is definitely something. This means they aren’t just powerful magic users but control magic itself.
Also, they are immortals (can’t die naturally).
Did Abaddon die?
Is stabbing a defeated, chained down god while searing him with fireballs, a natural death?
You got me wrong. I’m saying they cannot die, even unnaturally.
But.. he got killed. Kormir absorbed his power, but didn’t become him.

Skyhammer will be a new map, the info panel part is just bugged I guess.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
GW2 had a premade and a pug tournament. And the premade was removed due to lack of participants.
Same would happen again. Conquest CANNOT carry 2 different setups. We need a completely new gamemode if we ever want to have solo/team que and both working.
50-60% of pvp players won’t form a team if they can do the same map, same game mode in solo.
GW1 had a solo arena and a team arena. Team Arenas were removed, because they were the same things with dfferent join system only.
Other premade-only (GvG, HA) and solojoin-only (JQ, FA – not hardcore pvp I know) gamemodes survived.
If we take the competitive scene there: if we had a solo and a team option, team died out, but where we had no solo opportunity, that flourished.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
A GW1 norn claims to be part-Elonan, but Arenanet stated that they can’t breed.

Like one of Dr. Jekel’s associates taking something out of the hands of Mr. Hyde because he knows the will of the good doctor. It’s still possible.
Yup, it makes sense. But the thing is, there’s nothing saying that the gods and the dragons are the same. I see in them more like a ying-yang relationship.
This.
Nothing at all points to it beyond a common “number of perpetrators” and the fact that they are never seen in the same place at once. So, not nearly enough to “make an arrest” but definatly enough to keep an eye out for and at least acknowledge the possibility without making a definitive statement about how it isn’t true.
Just because Balthasar is associated with fire, it makes him primordus?
What kind of power would you give to your villains in which case you can’t force out a connection with a god or a dragon? Proves nothing at all.
Gods cover the elements + other basical things like knowledge, illusions. So gods cover almost everything. It would be hard to find something which is not related to any of these…
It’s like saying Queen Jennah is the Emperor of Cantha, because they both rule a nation.

Achievement descriptions in living story are huge spoilers, as always. Just a suggestion, remove these until you move on to the next content, or add them as the content for them arrives.

Best minigame you’ve ever made. Good job guys at ArenaNet! ;D
Just wanted to thank.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
necromancers disagree
1 miss 4 out of 5 Epidemics because of random dodge rolls. Epidemic doesn’t affect the target (I mean, 0 dmg, no boon stripping or any effects on him), and should be unaffected by his dodge. It is already annoying enough to have line of sight.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Sry for the tone, but this topic has popped up each week for 10 months now.
Btw there is a lvl 78(?) personal story mission, where you summon one of the Seven Reapers that serve Grenth, and in change for his help, he tasks you with killing the corrupted highpriest, because Grenth wants him back from Zhaitan.
If Grenth=Zhaitan: then in exchange for his help to defeat himself, he would task us to bring back his highpriest from him. Makes sense.

Could you guys just use your brains? Just once? No?
You can’t leave the match, only by closing the game and staying logged off for the whole time. So basically, you can’t play for that 10-15 mins. If they would add a 10 min penalty for leaving, ppl would just go akitten.. much better i guess. And we can’t report leechers.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
After 275638572352 topics about this: NO. THEY ARE NOT.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Btw, since they lost Lion’s Arch and the tengu took sactum cay, with the sylvari taking the western shores, are there any Krytan ships atm?
There’s a small port in Garenhoff, but nothing else. Maybe from the unexplored area west from LA, D’Alessio seaboard is still uder Krytan rule and got some ports?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I was thinking, though, what about this: 25-50% chance of 1 to 2 second burning whenever you poison your target?
The problem is that Epidemic would benefit nothing from it. And likely won’t. Good in 1v1, but condi nec isn’t the classic 1v1 prof.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
If they will add GvG for the PvE guys and make it zergfest#3 after WvW and hotjoin, the PvP players will just riot and burn down the Arenanet HQ… just saying.
And yes, we had both GvG and Guild halls, but those were working too well and players liked them too much, so they were left out from GW2.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Well, not in Desolaton. There we can’t even touch the nests because of a bug since release..
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
The real downed memser has a icone above btw..
Mesmer clones can get boons, but if you want to find the real one you have to watch your srceen not your castbar. You can clearly spot the real one from the movement and spell usage.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
i hope they will admit that dagons were the worst choice ever made to Guild wars. We can’t fight them a heroic way, and they don’t do as much influence as the story recommends it.
I hope the next expansion will have another objective or at lest some others, or a real way to fight them. pressing 22222222 makes me feel that my class is nothing compared to the evolving technology, I’m totally useless and doomed to disappear, and dragons are overhyped.

Arenanet staded that they got some pretty cool plans for Mursaat in GW2. So I think they will retur somehow :P
where did you read that? asking because from all Elder races, to me, Mursaat seem the most interesting one, so reading about them showing up somehow in GW2 sounds really nice
@Erukk: thank you for your insight too

Glad to see GW2 folks intrested in the whole lore You’ve pretty much covered the situation.
But I think agony will remain in the Fractals, making more dungeons based on agony may drastically dwell the number of ppl who go there.

About the traits and what’s worthy to spend points on, they stated that some traits will be relocated to another tree.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Dude..
Keep up, awesome!
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Signet of undeath is too mainstream as well as OH dagger. I run flesh wurm. But I am mostly soloing so that explains why I got it.
Nah Signet of Undeath is the best necro spell in a team. :P Once I ressed up 3 guys in tPvP with only 1 signet (the kind of moment that happens once in a year). That one spell won the fight for the buff in Temple, and with that, the match.
But now the signet is bugged and sometimes won’t ress people with low hp, just heals them a bit. Wonderful.. if they are really going to buff necros they should fix this bug asap.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
There are 2 versions of this story, one involves surviving charrs and that the Foefire only affected Ascaloncity, and the other, that the charr army was destroyed and the humans had been turned to ghosts.
Mixing them isn’t something that is going to work.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
You can cast the dagger spells from upstairs in Forest or the roof in Temple, but you can’t aim any warhorn spells.
And those are spots where necros kitten ppl from a safe distance :P as a nec you should always avoid a direct teamfight yet be the one to change it’s outcome. Well, change it if Signet of Undeath wouldn’t be bugged since last week
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I like warhorn for it’s mobility and daze which is good to stop some stomps or healing skills.
But in a higher rated tPvP match, necro has to find a place where he is far enough from the battle but can still cast spells from above.
And this makes warhorn completely useless. If you get in range, you are already dead. You can buy time with DS or plague form but you can’t use your warhorn in either situations.
AoE bleeding is good, and this 2 counts as 4 if epidemic is being used after cast. 4 aoe bleeding (approx. bonus 500 dps on everyone) from a safe range. Sounds better then -2 weapon skills in a fight.
Between capture points, swiftness would be better. But once you arrive it becomes useless. That1s why a necro should always watch out for enemy movement while standing between 2 points so that he arrives in time.

Many players put HA on their top 3 whislist nowadays, so I give this topic another try.
Any ideas from you guys on how could we bring back HA?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
In AC, that’s the GW1 map, in the chantry of secrets that’s the full world map. However, we haven’t even heard about the 80% of it in the lore, but somehow they know.

Donut. Definitely.
