they aren’t? how do I use dark path without death shroud?
Always confuse it with spectral walk. >_<

How do we know it was unsettled? The ecology says the charr were driven back and forced to surrender the lands that would become ascalon. Bu tbefore that it also says they stopped clamoring over the same land and spread throughout the territory.
They were nomadic savages with no sturctures built there, just considered that land as theirs, which they took from the Forgotten.
Awww poor charrs. This information wasn’t mentioned anywhere before GW2, this is a post-made correction to make the players feel that the charrs are the good guys wanting justice! So cute.
And the humans controlled that land for more time than the charrs did, and didn’t want to destroy their race, which is untrue for the charr, who destroyed Orr and almost Kryta too. Was that war really about “taking back” Ascalon?

Please Bring out a Capture the Flag!!
I know we have the orb thing but i would love a Map with maybe more than 5 v 5 and a base at each end of the map to conquer
maybe 10 v 10 of CTF.
the rules
- you Can still Move with the flag and attack
- Your Flag MUSt be at your base before you can capture the flag
- Each flag cap gives a certain amount of points and kills give points
- first to a certain amount win
- NO BUFFS, no speed buffs or Power buffs you can pickup, just pure class
- Cake for the winner
Go play wow
10v10 is just ways too much. You would win the match without soring a flag, mostly because you would get spiked by 10 guys..

Humans all the time? Maybe I’ve seen the least humans compared to any other races in high and mid lvl areas. Even in ex-human areas.
Dwarves are fighting Primordus and the destroyers, a dragon and his minions underground. If they wren’t there, we would see much more destroyers on the surface, I don’t think you knowanything about the lore and reasons.
Besides, Arenanet wroteoff the dwarves because they don’t want them as a playable race. And they sharetoo much in common with the norns.

As a big fan of aquatic races and underwater combat (yes we exist) I cross my fingers for Krait. They are primarily evil right now but only because they were pushed out of their home by the underwater Elder Dragon.
We will one day meet this dragon in the un-ending ocean, I hope the Krait left will be friendly and desperate enough to accept help defending their home, thus they become playable.… and on a side note: tame-able Karka
In GW1 there were no active dragons and the kraits were still as evil as now. Maybe in GW3, like what they did with the charrfor GW2.
This is true, but this time we have a common enemy with the Krait. Like you pointed out with the Charr, sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.
If they would be so shocked after they had to move, they wouldn’t have killed every race they can find on the shores and making them slaves.

I know that live-match observing is cheating, but they should add the match to a menu after they’ve finished. What’s the point in not observing top tournament matches but PvE guys? You can’t learn anything from hotjoin. I had an arguement with a guy (r30 guy!) in hotjoin who kept reasoning about that zerging is ways better than point capturing and holding and you shouldn’t pay attention for those things..
I srsly start to think that they don’t know for what purpose ppl want a feature.
1. unless they implement GW1 style Observer Mode (you could watch the replay of the match after it’s finished), it would be too easy to abuse the current live observe system.
2. “zerging” as you call it, can actually be quite effective if it’s done with an organized team and build. You just have to think outside of the box
We all know what’s a hotjoin zerg.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Humans can become gods. Asuras can’t.
Asurans have the tech to become greater than gods.
They just think that at one point they will have that technology.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
another thing did we know where the iron legion “capitol” was in guild wars 1 and before?
Even 250 years ago the charr was a savage race with either wooden structures or nothing.
They moved in to the leftovers of the human kingdom of Ascalon, mostly into catacombs, like the Cathedral of Flames to make capitols.
They are a savage, brutal antagonists of the game, reworked for a playable race.

The charrs have pushed the forgottens out of Ascalon and then moved in. Then humans pushed the charrs north and built a blooming kingdom.
It is unknown how much time the charrs have spent in Ascalon, but humans did nearly 1500 years.
The forgottens, probably first rulers of the land, moved to the world in 1769 BE. They inhabited Ascalon for years, probably centuries, so the most time charrs could spend there is also 1500-1600 years, if they took it 4-5 minutes after the forgottens moved in..
Don’t tell me humans got no righs to be there.
Charr 1500 years compared to human 1500 years. Sounds about even.
Yes. I wrote this because GW2 newbies keep thinking that Ascalonian humans were just pilgrims venturing into charr lands.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Mind control is something that is manintaned by a master over a given person, who regainshis freedom after the master cancels it.
Mind control oppresses the target’s mind for a time.
To transform someone into a minion is something different. To erase someone’s personality forever and make him a mindless, twisted servant like the dragons do isn’t completely mind-controlling. They won’t be te same after their master dies, just wondering minions without a master.
Transformation/corruption, like what the dragons do, erases the person.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I’ve been waiting for observer mode since tournaments are in. In Gw1 I liked to observer the best matches, you can learn many things from there, and to get into the observer and others can spectate your team is something worth fighting for
I’m glad it’s finally in, but as far as I know we will only be able to observer hotjoin/custom arena matches, like in an FPS game.
Or could we observe the top rated tournaments after they’ve finished the match?
I’m not sure I want to watch r5 vs r10 PvE guys fighting off points and zerging all over the map.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Can’t work because of the lack on an energy bar. Or for non-GW1 players, mana bar.
With only cooldown restrictions to the spells, a warrior could be excaty as good at spellcasting az an elementalist.
Can you imagine a warrior blinking at you and then using Time Warp to boost his haste a bit? Or with elementalist skill RTL?
Or a ranger with necromancer minions.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
It’s entirely possible the Jungle dragon has no minions, but simply corrupts the dreams of individuals.
Think about it..
Kralkatorik= Controls body
Jormag= Controls mind
Primordus= Controls life and death (he just outright destroyers)
Zhaitan= Controls undeathSo…
Mordremoth= Controls dreams.
Jormag controls mind?
Primordus controls life and death?
Good to know.

I was a Legenadry Defender of Ascalon in GW1 kitten it. I like them as a race, but hate them because what they did.
I was a strong separatist sympathizer until the point I completed Filds of Ruin. I’ve learned that the treaty will give the entire playfield back to the humans, which is great. In peace, they can start to rebuild a part of Ascalon.
If we could get back Drascir as te Ascalonian human capital, linked with an asura gate to Ebonhawke and get some areas around Drascir or in the Blazeridge mountains, i would be extremely happy

a: Why do so many people want to go back to Cantha. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
In most games, the Eastern-contet/continent is like an anime with gigantic swords and talking pandas.
But not in GW. The landscape and architecture was beautiful, the continent had variety and was an awesome place with many many things to do. The Canthan expansion had the most challenging contents for PvE and many many new ones for PvP, so everyone liked it
City a maze, artwork in the city was crapy (except maybe the palace). The only parts I liked where the starter island, the palace, Pongmei Valley and Mount Qinkai. The sea and forest are ok looking but not asian themed and had nothing to do with the campaign imo. It felt to me as if halfway the story they changed their mind and decide, nope we dont want an asian themed campaign lets go gothic vs pirates.
PvE content was a laugh in factions, it is by far the most easy campaign.
The PvP content was revolutionary butr has nothing to do with the lore and I dont expect a big PvP revolution like that in GW2 just cause they are going to canthaPersonally I wouldnt mind if we went there, but I neither expect it to happen or would shred a tear if we don’t.
Some people are allready assuming for certai nthat the next campaign will be either in elona or in Cantha and that GW2 will follow the same evolution as GW1. It’s a totally different game and I would be surprised if we ever go to Cantha.
I know they wouldn’t make the same additions with a Canthan expansion. I’m just saying we have great memories about Cantha, that’s why many of us wants to go back

If you want to make devs care at least a little bit about your sugegstion, forget reasoning with WoW
And they will never take off waypoints.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
This is just mere theorycrafting. It’s called the Deep Sea Dragon because it’s lurking in the deep sea.
And those are just concept arts.
But anything can happen.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Noone told Ebonhawke is likely to fall in any moment.
Some NPCs told that ‘probably we won’t be able to hold out forever’. That’s not the same.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Oh i know what you mean now
Well, that’s not possible to skip your quest to go straight to that one. Joining a friend doing those quests makes that almost impossible to complete since you are basically useless and he gets more mobs there, also you won’t get his reward.
So you can’t skip But some story quests are really awesome, and if you are still leveling yourself, these quests give loads of xp.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
To the human thing… My guess is that it might be for something later, like if there is a Return/Rescue/Search of the Gods expansion at one point if they extend the personal stories, Humans may be sent to rescue the gods they chose.
That would be great! when i made my character, being a mesmer, i have naturally decided to be a follower of Lyssa; however once in game, i was so disappointed to realize that it didn’t have any kind of incidence;
So yeah i hope that Anet hides such surprises in its bag for us
If a God can’t handle it you are pretty much kittend up btw . :P
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
They’ve stated before that they want to encourage people to play together, not discourage them.
So they won’t make it less rewarding to play in a larger team.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Your high lvl helper gets scaled down to the story lvl and you will get more mobs to fight.
No rushes here :P

Check the behind-the-scenes thing on the official site for Guardians.
Guardians are paragon/monk/ritualists.
They are the commander, supportive class already.

So, for April:
- Beta for Custom Arenas.
- Spectator Mode.
- More balance changes than normal, with plenty of splits.Cheers.
If they do reverse the 4s revealed in wvwvw and PvE and make my favorite spec viable again, you will not see me in sPvP again! xD
I have been FORCED to play with Pistol OH, cant wait to get rid of it!!
Noone told you that they will. Btw :P
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
It’s not even effective.
Admit it: 90% have tried it before. You can make more out of a simple hotjoin or even a tournament run.
And it’s really boring. :P
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
It’s great that PvP will bring some money to the developers, so probably PvP can be a higher priority, which is great.
The only problem is: PvP players make 2 copper a day (pvp daily reward). The only way we can make some more is selling dye from boxes.
So hardcore pvp players won’t be able to rent a server, only the pve dudes will have to money for that if they won’t make some changes.
Rare minis from chests or skins, like in GW1, would solve the problem.

Just bring back capes for first. Easy, useful and iconic for Guild wars.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Noone displays his guild’s emblem anywhere. Well, almost nobody. Guild armors are a bit ugly btw.
Bring back guild capes as a guild back item, so we can proudly wear our guild’s emblem again!

You guys do realise that the Sylvari is a playable race, right? They wouldn’t make an entirely corrupted playable race.
If the Pale tree has anything to do with dragons.. the Pale tree is the Sylvari capital! We would have to destroy a capital city of a playable race or what?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
You could see the GvG ratings before the match in GW1 too.
Brotip: don’t use the word “wow” here. From that point your suggestion is ignored and that’s okay.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Read the book Ghosts of Ascalon.
Charr are actually not doing as good as you think and needed the Claw of Khanir. If they did not get that claw, the charr society would have fallen apart due to fighting within the legions.
That’s Claw of the Khan-Ur. A Khan-Ur a leader who can control all the legions, standing above the imperator.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
80% of emotes are missing but will be implemented. That is higher priority :P
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
It’s called moon :P

With bots on your side it’s 5v4, so basically the botter’s and his team’s win chances are reduced by 99%.

If they had plans, GW2 story wouldn’t be: " ahh screw the lore let’s add some dragons and hunt them down in the next 5 expansios before we will do something with the actual lore".
Whoever said the first five (or four) expansions will be focused on the Elder Dragons.
No one, that’s who.
You think we will go to another continent before eliminating the threat of the dragons? I hope I’m wrong btw.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Well, where did they hint them?
Other from 1 Eye of the North script, which expansion was made to add the background for GW2?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Ofc they got no plans wqith Livia, that’s sooo sillyyy..
Like the pink themed GW2 ‘scholar with a fan’ concept art, that’s just fan made, ofc that’s definitely not a mesmer, we won’t have mesmer. 3 years later that was verifyed to be a leaked concept art.
Arenanet is shady.
In a game that’s supposed to be continually added to with new content, it’s a good idea to insert a lot of potential plot threads early on, even if you have no plans on when or how it will play out at the time. Plus, their concept artists are known to make stuff without being specifically told to, and while some of that gets added into the game not all of it does. Lastly, sometimes they do have a long-term plan for something that gets scrapped for something different.
I think you’re giving ArenaNet too much credit here. They don’t have some master plan for all the story hooks in the game, they just make it up as they go along.
If they had plans, GW2 story wouldn’t be: " ahh screw the lore let’s add some dragons and hunt them down in the next 5 expansios before we will do something with the actual lore".

Matchmaking is done by rating, not rank. It can happen that the low level guys got matched up against other low levels and won all of them by luck, while the high-ranked ones had a bad streak and lost almost every single battle in that day.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
You know, I once had a GW1 Vet explain to me why guild rankings and GvG would save the game. He explained everything and I listened, but literally all it sounded like it was to me was Foefire with a flag in the middle of the map that you cap and run around with. I even went further to watch some videos of “amazing past games” from it and I had to say it was one of the least interesting things to watch, and because of this I had no real want to even try it. GW2’s target audience is larger than just the small PvP community it had in GW1, for an E-Sport to actually take off the important thing is the casual players (as funny as that sounds). There needs to be a market of players that wish to get better so they spend time watching events and other such activities or there will be no funding for the “top players” to compete. I think the dev’s did well to choose the gamestyle they did, however some space age meta needs to be less tanky and predictable to make it more exciting
Small PvP community? Good to know. When this was an active game, thousands have played Heroes’ Ascent, Team Arenas, Alliance Battles, jade Quarry, Fort Aspenwood and GvG at the same time.
There were more than 1 thousand active PvP guilds playing GvG for srs.
