Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Still bugged, I can’t let this topic sink.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
The foefire may actualy have targeted the borders of the kingdom. It definitely targeted the citizens within it without raising the charr into ghosts.
Well, I’d say it targetted the geographical borders of the territory called Ascalon, but not the borders of the kingdom of Ascalon, because Ebonhawke is considered to be in the Blazeridge mountais, but still inhabited by Ascalonians and was a part of the kingdom after established.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Overlaying a GW1 map to GW2 is just entirely wrong. Even entire mountains got moven in just to border the new regions, and some outposts slightly got moved away.
lso, the Foefire’s rang isn’t like “well, let’s take this map, and within this drawn border of our kingdomn eveyone will die”, more like a giant circle radious, and Ebonhawke was south enough to avoid that.
Btw there are many thing in the lore that would fail if we would analyze the in-game map.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
If you mean killing your own race, then dude.. killing is against the law if you just go rampage. However, in a war situation, like charr legions vs flame legion charrs, it isn’t.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Consortium just laughed at them. And grawls aren’t at the lvl of signing assignments
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Personally, I’d like to know (in lurid detail) exactly what Gwen did to earn a title like “the Goremonger” from the Charr. They aren’t exactly a squeamish race after all…
Yesh!!
I think she earned the title over the years of war, not by only one event.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Arenanet, just like Gw2, has potential. The problem is, they are too much into the e-sport thing, catering to 8 teams and 6 shoutcasters, ignoring the rest of us.
Heroes’ Ascent was the best pvp mode in an MMO, lots of gamemodes, tactics, and the feeling in the Hall of Heroes, that just can’t be replaced.
Make conquest e-sports if you want, maybe change it to guilds only, because it’s already happening.
But we need HA, a place that is rewarding, fun to play, has progress and both casuals and hardcore players play.
The problem is, GW1 seems to be a forbidden word.

This necro utility should rally the downeds, but now 1 out of 3 times this skill just add some to the downed hp, but won’t rally the ally at all.
Sometimes working, sometimes not, and we are talking about the backbone of the tPvP necro.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I hope they will never add one.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Pretty much all of Ascalon was blasted by the Searing though, whether we visited it or not.
How do you know that?
Worldmap?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
The soul reaping traitline should be changed to the point where DS is such a monster form that our weapon skills are just secondary.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
That’s an old article and chart(Oct 16th), so maybe the values have evened out more. Since GW1 was only playable as a human, perhaps this reflects those players who migrated to this game and wanted to continue that in some way. It would be interesting to see a chart now and how, if at all, those race stats have changed. I would bet they have evened out some.
I am rather suprised that the dev is surprised with that chart. I mean, they had to expect a lot of GW1 players would want to roll human, if only out of nostalgia.
Nah, they tried to destroy everything from GW1. Locations, lore and everything that is PvP (I mean the game modes now). If after all this i would see Gw1 veterans coming to play this game i would be shocked too and would made me rethink if as a dev i should care about the playerbase that we managed to build up or just replace that.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
That is one group of 99% of the dwarves and Ogden is the 1% that seems to be reasonable. Currently searching for the Eotn dialogue about how the stone dwarves attack mindlessly and are overconfident.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
@ThatOddOne
Dwarves got the goal to defeat Primordus only. And they don’t care about anything else. You can’t tell them “okay, you will wait here, the order of whispers will lure the destroyers here, then we will ambush”.
They will just go “SMASH ’EM!!”, without having any plans and without caring anything about the safety of themselves and allies.
Not the classic playeable race mentality.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Necros will get burnig via a trait.
Skyhammer will have a floating cannon and platforms that can fall down.
Splitting soloque is the main priority, and templates for skills/gear/traits are coming for pvp only.
“Every class will get some love in the next patch”
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
…
Write off from the list of races for the players, not from the lore, I meant.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Sometimes i wonder why do ppl keep reasoning how dwaves will be accessibly to players and how there are no problems.
Mostly they are right, aside from the fact it was stated that the ritual that turned them into stone happened TO WRITE THEM OFF.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Humans got a really good lore, it has a ‘feeling’ to roll a human
And mostly because of GW1.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
@Hjorje,
Zhaitan cut off only a small strait, not a whole ocean, and the wiki suggests that some sailors from cantha actually made it to the shores of the Tarnished coast.
The DSD would have to have 60-70 times the army of any dragon, and maintain control not only in the depths but in the upper levels.
DSD can sink some ships and scare some sailors off, but there are many many maps in Kryta that show Cantha, even in the Seraph HQ. I think this can suggest that they will try to communicate with Cantha if they will have the chance. They could provide shelter, supply, reinforcements and so on.
Also, we do not know when the DSD awoke. Races used to sail the ocean until the rise of Orr. Not having the date of the awakening can suggest 2 things: DSD awoke after Zhaitan, or has nearly 0 impact on the waters to sail.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I gave up crafting arah armor after 30 guild armor pieces in a row. So gl
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Yes, but you know what sits between Cantha and Tyria now that Zhaitan’s dead and his armada is slowly being destroyed? Seeing Cantha is highly unlikely to be on anyone’s top 10 list (racewise), but aside from that there be a giant ED in them waters, somewhere. The only reason the DSD hasn’t stopped any ships that we’ve seen, IMO, is because no one ever goes far enough off shore because of Zhaitan’s old fleet. All I am stating, and have ever stated, is that the DSD might be a problem if they try to sail ships to Cantha. All I have stated, I am not sure why everyone is ganging up on me for such a small statement that holds some possibilities of truth…
You take your own theory as a fact, that’s why. And yes many many ppl want to go back to Cantha, even the devs, just look around.
And still DSD isn’t something to cut off 2 whole continents.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
If you got tourney tokens from rank chests that would most likely be a bug.
Tourney tokes come from salvaged items from tourney wins.
Did some tourneys last night and managed to get a few, even got a couple paid tokens even though it was free.
No such thing as free nor paid tournament exists anymore. Only 1-round rated tournaments, that’s why you can get both from the same chest.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Arenanet stated in many SOTGs that they do not want them in PvP.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
There shouldn’t be a decay, ppl should be removed from the ladder after 2 weeks of inactivity, and only go back to the live ladder once they’ve played at least 1 match. That one match is added to the previous rating ofc.
So you wouldn’t be punished if you can’t play for a month, but would need to play to stay on the ladder.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Molten gloves did drop from the chests, so i think yeah, we will have them from the chest.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
@ Evan will this upcoming patch have guild leaderboard ?
How could we have guild ladder without guild rating srsly?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Free tokens did never drop from rank chests. The match win chest drops are the mixture of Free and Paid tournament rewards + some new, so salvaging items from those is the only way getting them, but they can either drop free or paid.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I haven’t played the full story of gw1 yet, so I can’t say much about it, however:
There is a dwarf npc that you’ll encounter during the norn-storyline. If you choose to join the vigil you will have to protect him from the dredge at the base of the durmand priory.
Yes, a stone dwarf, just like the others. We do know dwarves exist. Any reason why you quoted this?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
You think because he’s called the Deep Sea Dragon means that he’s only going to do stuff deep under the ocean not on the surface? That’s like saying Zhaitan’s only going to have minions on the ground, none in the air…
“This particular elder dragon does not have a major influence on the world of Tyria”
Straightfrom the wiki.
Also, he is forcing races from the deepest waters towards the surface, which sugests that he rather resides in the deepest waters, earing the name Deep Sea Dragon, not only Sea Dragon.
We don’t even know its name, and after the last story quest, when DE is talking abut the other dragons, they don’t even mention this one, maybe because they don’t even know about its mere existence. Also, the Unending Ocean is pretty huge, if minions would patrol all the waters, it would be a territory 50-60 times greater than other dragons’.
It is possible that 1 out of 10 ships go missing, but definitely not something that cuts off one or 2 continents.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
touche sir!
Clever word usage. You’re either a civilized modernist or some kind of game-racist. -_-
For the record, it has nothing to do with racial preferences and everything to do with good story-telling and practical continuity. I really don’t care what the race is as long as it all makes good sense and fits together with some kind of plausibility.
I would also like to express my gratefulness to the posters who look past their dev preferences in favor of actual past GW lore.
I just saw a lot of different opinions and after the first couple post I expected a lot more “faction cheerleaders” (race cheerleaders?) than there turned out to be. I figured I’d encourage this in the future by “rewarding” the behavior. Nothing more
I can see you miss me
Btw yes, the whole Ascalon lore is given from the charr PoV in GW2, some like that and some don’t. It’s just bad how they changed the whole charr and Ascalonian lore to makeplace for the charrs as a playeable race, however, charrs are almost the rarest choice by the ppl, still the fav of Arenanet.

(edited by Gandarel.5091)
Zhaitan wasn’t the only reason we couldn’t go across to Cantha. They stated somewhere that they were happy with the way that they have set up the DSD because it gives a kind of “Here be monsters” feel to the oceans, giving people plenty of reasons not to cross it.
DSD is in the deep sea, not really making an influence in the waters to sail, maybe a very little.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]

There is a dwarf npc that you’ll encounter during the norn-storyline. If you choose to join the vigil you will have to protect him from the dredge at the base of the durmand priory.
He is Ogden Stonehealer, a hero from Gw1 and the only known dwarf to interact with the surface.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Even the kodan refugee camp in the northwestern corner of Ascalon has human ruins in the lake.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Zhaitan was the only reason why we couldn’t go to Cantha. or the shores of southern Elona.
From now, they can either finally write in some lore with those continents, or we keep zerging dragons..
@mercury, the river is called Elon, and the continent is called Elona. Not the same.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
^ Exactly, Arenanet stated they wanted to write off dwarves, because they didn’t want to have the races other MMOs have.
However, I’m still curious about what will happen if Primordus is defeated and the dwarves will not have any goals for future. Will they vanish into the depths, or will the ritual break?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Ashford → Ascalonian.
Heltzer, Vasburg, Lutgardis, Durheim → Canthan Kurzick
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
:) Learn your and the opponent classes’ skill on hotjoin, but for tactic and what real PvP is, rely on tournaments only.
Gl!
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
why would charr not be guardians??
guardians dont get there magic by the gods or faith in the gods but from faith itself so the faith can be placed in anything(one being your warband or legion)
but i gess there would not be alot of guardians in the charr tho
Amongst the charr, the weaks shall die. Guardians serve the purpose of defending allies, but by charr standards, if you can’t take care for yourself, you will be outcasted or left to die.
There might be some, because guardians can fight well, but charr guardians aren’t the regular guardians.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Kurzicks and Luxons no longer wage war against each other, the Emperor spent millions in gold on forcing them back to a united empire, and vanquished all non-humans. Possibly, if you go to the Jade See, you would meet luxons, but they are now part of an empire, along with the kurzicks, so no longer fight each other.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Arenanet wants to give every class to every race, even if it is unfiting.
They solve it the way that you will never see a sylvari engineer NPC and almost no norn thieves.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Julius, this is a false concept about splitting te community.
More gamemodes bring in more players, more attenton, more time spent and more fun and diversity.
Without spliting the PvP playerbase players will get bored, mostly if they don’t like that only existing gamemode.
Without splitting the playerbase there won’t be anything that could be split nor keep.
More modes (content)-> More attention -> More players -> More profit -> Everyone is happy
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Solo queue
Fixed match making (no 5v4)
More modes
How do you want to stop alt f4? Really curious. Ragequit is the only way you can leave a match, and if you log in you will be taken back to the arena. How could they force even matchups even more?…
Penalty? If you stay logged off for 15 mins that’s already one. If they bring penalty, levaers will be afkers. That’s all, because you can’t really leave.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I’d say the left one is Dwayna and the right one is Melandru, 2 human gods. Because this a mostly human land.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Frans, about the canthan dredge and “driving the charrs from their strongholds”: charrs had no strongholds. nor buildings. Nomadic savages.
And the dredge weren’t driven out, they’ve been vanquished by the Dragon Empire just like all non-human races, and forcing the Tengu to flee the land.
He said ‘by us’ (and Kurzicks) so he I don’t assume he was referring to the Dragon Empire. When we were there were lots of them and they seemed to re-appear as fast as we got rid of them…
There is at least one Charr stronghold, even when not build from stone, and a large camp that you must take during Eye of the North,
Assault on the Stronghold and the camp in Grothmar Wardowns
There’s also a stronghold in Sacnoth Valley that you can wipe just for good sport.
Well, wouldn’t say it is a frostress made out of earth and stones, because ppl would think of an actual fort, it’s just a hill btw :P
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
8v8 teamfight: deaths in every second. Not a good idea.

Why does everyone want to duel in the Hall of Monuments? :o
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
err maaa gerrrd srsly? this? srsly? THIS???? is what you come up with concerning this topic?
1.
A build should be the logical result of what works well together and what not – you dont have to memorize anything because logic should always get you to the same conclusion2.
If you cant even remember a few traits and gear choices you`re probably better off playing with marbles
Skills aren’t the problem and you can figure out which traits, runes and sigils to use.
Did you ever play 2 different builds on one of your characters? Have you tried to switch 3-4 times a day? Have you tried this on 3 different chars a day? Nope? I wonder why..
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Take screenshot on ur skill, traits etc and rename it, works for me.
But sure some saves would be nice.
Used to do that but tired of it
