Best use of vampires in game I have seen so far included mostly guns and supernatural abilities that were mostly dependent on your clan. And had nothing in common with lol… vlad the impaler or blood countess.
Back to necromancers… why in gods name scythes? Our staff already turns scythis on attacks. Tho i am still irritated by our weapon selection. Axes truly do not belong on a spell caster. Nor do weapons that require melee range. On top of not making any sense why the least armorer profession would go melee… our daggers are the only melee weapon that doesn’t cleave… pfft
Its all about presentation and delivery. Necros were delivered horribly compared to other classes extremely broken and hampered in every direction. We were promised love but were given nerfs instead. We are finally getting the most plain to see bugs fixed. It wont change that DS is… situational to extreme. That our traits are either useless or positioned in such awkward way it doesn’t really allow much creativity.

As Stormy O stated, if we play to our strengths I don’t feel that underpowered at all. What is our bread and butter? Epidemic. There have been countless number of times (in WvW) where after condition stacking one person, especially an npc surrounded by invaders and popping epidemic. The white numbers are everywhere.
Even in PvE, I feel the necros really shine and the conditions they can put out. I was following a hybrid burst/sustained damage build (scep/dag, axe/focus) that goes back and forth between stacking bleeds and stacking vulnerability. What do I do after all those conditions are stacked? Epidemic. Sure if there are other mobs near by I’ll aggro a few more, but by the time I’m ready to deal with them they’ll have a good chunk of health gone.
In sPvP I run scep/dag, staff build focusing on fear and condition duration. With it I can usually hold my own point (that is if I can land my marks :P). There have been on occasion where I’ve been able to 2v1 with the help of Epidemic and my flesh golem. (Easiest way to land marks? Knock down or root!)
All in all, sure Necros may feel underpowered the most, but I don’t think the fun is missing, especially if you know that the necro playstyle is about dots and spreading dem dots.
Epidemic was fixed. Now its not infinite range. So good luck getting in range to use it and actually surviving the barrage.
Need some more “proper” DS usage me thinks.
@Stormy O… i read up to 4k bleed part. Then I realized you never touched a necro in your life.
I’ve yet to see even a terrible player take half of BPs damage. They either die long before it runs its duration or in case of decent players gets removed as soon as you slap enough bleeds that they become a problem.
And bah I wont even bother arguing with anything or reading. Necros are broken its a fact and they aren’t fun because they aren’t even sub-par unless you spec just for that 1 specific thing that still sucks in everything other then pvp. Bleh.
Mhm to respond to that. Yeah weapon choices for a caster class are absolutely kitten at best. Fact that spell caster is put in melee range is again kitten Minions dying like wet noodles… that’s just laziness and lack of testing or caring. Has nothing to do with class design. Same as 25 bleeds being a cap is …. utterly bizzare and raises a question if developers even thought for 10 seconds about what they were doing. But hey that applies to most aspects of necromancer class… so a moot point… almost as moot as design for our trait trees.
Each person perceives the term “necromancer” differently depending on where they most often and most vividly been introduced to it.
To make an example my biggest/most creative portrayal of vampires comes from “White Wolf” world. Rather then generic movie vampires. In that world vampires don’t really care much for getting stabbed in heart in which case it would just paralyze them temporarily… that one little detail is contrary to most other scenarios where vampires die as soon as their heart is damaged and most other areas aren’t as vital even the head.
There are multitude of places where something is described differently from another source. Just because you dislike it doesn’t mean its incorrect. Frankly necromancers are not very well documented in science… now I’m being sarcastic but the point is its a practice thats for the most part imagined. Yes sure there are some portions of it which were derived from druidism, cabalism and which craft and so on. But it is still completely imagined occupation.
I find the very idea that someone attempts to argue that necromancers should have skeletons utterly ludicrous. Go ahead… show me one… JUST ONE… necromancer in real life that uses skeletons then I will accept that argument and keep quiet. Until then its all about what “insert random joe” wants his class to be and nothing more.
On side note necro is broken to crap… at least we are finally getting patches. Too bad biggest issues are still ignored.

Jumping puzzles are hard… Wait what?
I haven’t seen a single jumping puzzle that left any kind of impression on me past just knowing where it is. And the occasional there are npcs there that try to kill you… you the welfare class with crap dps.
If you need help with jumping puzzles… quit turning with bloody arrow keys. Honestly should simply remove bindings for turning and leave only strafing. Would fix all the “too hard” whining.
Heh for odd moments I once killed a full party of 8 people in capricon under water… simply thanks to sharks stacking bleeds on me. Went in with bleeds got lucky with CB landing a full fight duration weakness then sharks stacked bleed which were transfered followed by epidemic… and nobody removed any conditions while I sat there in plague like a boss on the node. ~15 seconds after watching the whole team stupidly stay right next to me they died and sharks died too. It was pretty funny but finding 8 people that bad… is rare.
Point is… you still generate laughable amount of hp.
All I saw was a nerf across any build. Power means jack if you aren’t alive to use it. Pretty much that was 1 and only skill for condition necro that generated LF… in a reasonable time frame. Now you get kitten. So they finally put the nail in DS coffin for condition specs.
Meh infinite range on epidemic… sure it looked funny with that kind of range…. but now you and your squishy rejected blood bank employee need to go full bloody melee…
Ranged class in melee range… yeah sure sounds spectacular. Up to the part where you can get 4-5 shoted through 30k hp or an equal in points value dumped in toughness and you still get 4-5 shoted.
And they just keep taking those LF generators… good job.
No matter how much you kiss anets kitten it will not change that current BP state is major jump down the sewage drain.
Any term used in a game to describe something falls under what “lore of that specific game and its world” has to say about that term. A mage in 1 settings is a completely different concept depending on setting.
Perceiving a class solely based on what its called is a poor argument.
Read what Guild Wars lore has to say about necromancer, not what some random wiki that has nothing to do with Guild Wars.
And even so in general necromancer is a practitioner of magic and a kin to that, specializing in dealing with death and spirits/souls. In most cases for games that means its a summing class that specializes in overwhelming opponents with numbers and debilitating “spells”(curses/hexes/spells…w/e really) rather then brute force of any kind. It has held true for most of application of necromancer in games that are worth mentioning. Diablo 2 was the one instance where necromancer had some of the highest damaging abilities(or at least with proper set up) out of all classes.

For a change well thought ideas… I salute you sir.
Also doesn’t involve “gime this” ideas.
On the topic I do like the idea. Loosing skills and getting few that hardly ever fit your spec is lame. If they were all f1-f4 and DS itself was simply a new fully separate life bar and gave some benefits depending on your pool it would actually:
1. not be a… oh snap button.
2. wouldnt be avoided like a plague depending on spec.
3. could be used both ways, for defense and offense.
This idea that necros are bad is hilarious, and so wrong. I played necro in GW1, I have played necro all through beta, and since launch; I haven’t played anything else beyond screwing around a few minutes.
People expect something out of necros that they can’t deliver. Necro has always been a “weird” (read: not straight forward) class, it was that way in GW1, it is that way now. A minion spec should give you 3k armor, 28k HP, and about 1.5-2.5k DPS (depends on what you use), not including any skills, just your minions auto attacking. Condition damage isn’t insane, but is complemented by easy access to AoE conditions and non-damaging conditions (vulnerability and chill abound). Siphoning health lets you giggle like a school girl as you stab a guardian in the face and drain more damage than he can do. DS is essentially a temporary god-mode at the cost of some DPS.
Necros aren’t there to out tank a tank, out spike a thief, out damage a warrior, we never have been, and never will be. Its not that we can’t do it either, I’ve tanked 3 people in tPvP while my team goes and has a picnic on the corpse of their Lord, and I’ve treated thieves like a high school jock would treat a freshman. If you are having trouble in WvW, its because you aren’t using the ability to spread AoE conditions, if you are having trouble in tPvP its because you have a horrible team, or haven’t learned how to make a build that abuses the survivability we have while retaining DPS.
If you are having trouble playing necro, then you either need to roll a new toon and stop filling every thread with inane QQing, or give yourself time to adapt to the playstyle. Devs have posted about the profession multiple times, I’d listen to them. Honestly, its a turn-off to people who might post helpful things here to see all the negativity about the profession; personally I have multiple guides I’ve written on builds that I have personally tested and found viable in game, and have helped people in my guild, but no one wants to put their hard work out there in this environment.
Fully speced vampisim heals you for less then regenerate. Good try tho. GW2 necro couldn’t be further away from GW1 necro. The fact that you implied otherwise means that you have no idea and just trolling.
You entire post provided no numbers beyound flat stats of full minion spec hammering light armor dummy. You provided no details/facts/observations past, as you said, inane rambling, next time you try to say that majority of people here that agree on necro being bottom feeder in every role compared to any other class, you should really provide some evidence instead of claims and your opinions. Opinions are funny that way… everyone got some… unfortunately most of them are useless.
Saw plenty of well/dagger necros… since i tried most imaginable combination, tried those myself for pve and pvp… all i can say. If you ever got good results from wells you, sir, found yourself those I would call “confused wabbits” against that sort of target I can do well w/o healing skill/any utility skill/elite skill or traits. Lets not confuse day and night.
Going for daggers damage and not having axe + focus for vulnerability opener?… definitely a 6 hour necro myth buster.
Also your lack of input on damage made me smile.
The only people that are playing necro are either in denial or stubborn mules(like me) that don’t like to re-roll flavor of the month classes at the first sign of gap.
As someone originally said. All three question get a no. And so far patches have completely ignored only necromancers so don’t get your hopes up.
The only semi-reliable way to get minions to attack if they enter their afk mode is to use their abilities. Which for some minions means they get blown up… used for heal you dont need.
Pathfinding is horrendous same as ai. Only way to circumvent it is, if you know there is something you are going to jump over and it will take minions a while to walk around do yourself a favor and jump on anything a bit before that hop over obstacle. Due to inane teleport mechanic used to get minions to eventually teleport back to you if they are too far sometimes can trigger if there is multiple path issues. You can mostly notice this while doing jumping puzzles at times even tho distance is trivial they will teleport to you even tho you are still on flat ground but hopping on stones and such.
Stats do not affect anything in any way, shape or form. Even healing doesn’t effect vampirism traits. Which are miserable to begin with. 1 train to let minions siphon health… a whooping 25 hp at level 80 and another to increase that gain by 50% which by anets math means +4 hp and that brings you to a staggering 29 hp. And as was stated healing doesn’t effect life siphoning traits.
All in all minions benefit mostly for dumping as much as you can into vitality and toughness to survive long enough to summon next wet noodle appendage that gets 1 shoted.
All in all… unless you are dead set on being necro… do yourself a favor and try to enjoy another class until this mess is either resolved or confirmed to be a dead beat pony.
Warrior in wow never required skill for pvp(different story for PvE or at least when wow was worth playing)… it was charge, skillstring, whirlwind. About the same thing as it is here in GW2…. 100b >_> and charge lol oh and you do some of the highest aoe damage with that too…
And as far as necro goes… in its current state I would not advice botherwing with this class. It feels like warlock when WoW went live…
Want reasons why? Its been stated here a million times over. A truckload of bugs and broken traits/mechanics. Atrocious damage. Utter disgrace for ai. Some mechanics that aren’t even necro related aka max bleed stack. Bizzare mechanics that make no sense. Death shroud being a good example. Hardly any specs that are even remotely viable can make use of DS for anything other then eating 1-2 hits and hoping someone will save you. In pve on events you can use life transfer to tag a lot of enemies so you don’t get bronze. Still wont get loot… but at least you get some more xp and karma.
If you are running full minion spec axe gets a bit more over all >damage< then other weapons simply due to axe+focus vulnerability stacking. Other then that… meh… dagger packs more damage and generates more LF and staff on large number of enemies generates LF faster then anything else due to piercing projectile being auto attack also helps keeping your wet noodle army around for 1-2 extra hits with regen. Then again focus can now do that as well but it has a limitation on number of bounces so some of regens can be wasted on jagged horrors or bone minions which aren’t even qualified for cannon fodder role.
In dungeons if I do not swap my MM build to wells which would only lack ground based targeting on wells which is icing on cake. I swap to axe/focus for vulnerability for party damage and swap to staff if enemies use conditions and I want to get rid of them and toss some heals here and there. Also tend to drop bone minions due to their inherent 1 shot dead hp pool and worthless amount of damage. Just take bone wyrm and stick it on walls that makes it the only minion that can actually last through entire boss fight w/o getting killed. Sadly while wyrm has second highest damage its attack speed is very very slow.
All in all… axe due to damage lacking is probably best suited for MM build. Otherwise I’d go for something else.
24 stack trick has a cooldown. And for me frankly I dislike getting skills that situational.
Considering hemo and duration from spite dont even stack i fail to see your point. You gotta sacrifice something. For me duration in pvp setting is the least of my worries since any person worth discussion will have a condition removal tools. So again once per 10 second squabble 24 bleeds won’t really help against people that are at least familiar with what they are doing.
And never suggested or mentioned dropping vitality… or toughness or any of that.
There is a difference between sustainable stack of debuffs and boom i blew a whole lot of debuffs and now I got no utility skills left to use. Bleeds on crit is the most universal rune that works and its not just rune. Speed is lack luster yeah… but so is everything else. Why did you even bring power if you are discussion condition related specs?
Anyway I said what I wanted to say about ops idea… anything else… i don’t even care any more nor am I going to argue semantics of someones preferences and opinions.

My Vampiromancer feels viable in sPvP. Let me know what you think.

Sadly that’s what it should have been… and what it was advertised. The reality is cruel and lame.
Also that kind of relocation would do nothing to fix core issues with class. Class lacks damage, any distinct role, it serves next to no function as support class due to simple fact you bring barely any noticable healing and no buffs at all. Past specing for 3 sec protection on wells. And so on….. no reason to even list at this point. Its all been said over and over again.
All I saw is that you don’t like condition damage. W/o precision you will be sitting at 10 bleeds at most. Not sure which spec you are playing but if anything crit chance is the second most important stat for condition based necro after condition damage.
Also condition duration makes most sense in spite tree simply because spite tree mainly contains traits that in some form synergize with vulnerability or use of debuffs. Minions benefit most from vulnerability stacking. Axe damage again vuln stacking. Some power based builds don’t use axes all that much but those tend to not really use spite tree anyway. Mainly I’m refering to daggers/wells or power builds that revolve around using DS for damage/might/fury stacking. But even the DS power build uses vulnerability… so again condition duration applies.
(edited by HiSaZuL.2843)
In necros case we have this so called support role which provides no buffs/heals/cc. Our condition damage is 117 for bleeds in best case scenario. Also don’t forget bleeds dont stack past 25… so if you run with warrior… you aren’t doing anything at all. Your damage is insignificant compared to all other classes. Minions spend majority of time afk. And… well just look at the bug list. You don’t even need to know how bad our traits are… just look at plain bugs. That should be more then enough.
Do your self a favor and enjoy a class that is actually working. Elementalist has a ton of utility and fairly good aoe damage. Its not warrior/thief as damage goes. And very fragile until you start swaping attunments properly for healing/protection but after that its the most versatile class.
For one, Jon can see us fine. He has stickied a thread acknowledging all the bugs.
Secondly, our damage and survivability are good, in PvP and PvE.If necro isn’t what you expected it to be, reroll. It is a fun profession to play, it is just not as easy to be good at as Thief, Warrior etc.
As far as class balance in PvP goes, I can’t comment, as I have not levelled them all. But I know that I can hold my own in PvP and PvE without too much trouble, and have fun doing so (and I am no hardcore gamer).
Sorry if some of my comments seem harsh, but seriously, more than half f the necro forum just seems to be pointless and annoying QQ posts. The lack of more constructive feedback makes me sad.
So your saying you can do half the damage, at least, of any other class? Nice try, in any given situation where both people know what they are doing, you won’t do even a third of damage of any other class. Support? Hmm… necros provide no buffs of any kind past 3 seconds of protection for every well… marvelous. Healing? Without full healing gear your blood well isn’t even better then a simple regen from staff. Again a guardian/engenier/ranger/warrior/elementalist blows you out of your shoes in buffs/healing/cc/debuffing. Thiefs don’t do much in terms of support but oh well.
And the list at times seems indefinite. Next time you make grand claims provide some proof.
Go on… spec for full power with DS and realize that warrior does more damage with auto attacks then you with 100% ds pool and full power/might spec.
Oh and we are the only class with no cobos…. we got 1 underwater finisher >_> extremely unreliable at that too. We got 1 mark which needs to be triggered and a base attack of staff with 20% chance…. Oh yes almost forgot we do have bone minions explosion and flesh wyrm…lol. GL getting finisher from those. Now ever checked how many finishers warriors have? No? Do it…
Also our fields are poison from staff/poison from one of the almost completely useless utility. 4 darkness from wells 1 light again from well. And spectral wall… the completely useless utility. And they really don’t provide us with anything in terms of buffs. Also you can’t trigger them w/o enemies unless you get minions… but then you sarifice all your utility slots for aoe blind on nothing?
No you aren’t exploring bob. You are running from one waypoint to another.
When I left Queensdale after actually exploring it I was 20… When I finished Kessex I was 40. I’m almost 70… and yet I haven’t visited a map higher then level 25. I’m still not done with all the lowbie maps exploration.
^^^
And on top of that I also talk to every npc I can, just to see dialogues and different perspectives. Sometimes I am pleasantly amused. Sometimes I can’t wait to leave cough charr cough… think its taking me forever to gtfo charr areas because the amount of whining and moaning combined with some bizarre sense of superiority and entitlement that even surpasses asura makes me gag. You’d think if someone went on butchering spree for no reason other then doing it… would expect to get screwed. But nope… charr are still mad proud they went to war with exiled race only to drive them to such a corner that they chose damnation over being butchered. Now charr are still stuck fighting humans… dead humans….
Now I’m just raving LOL. Anyway… this game is great because of little things and majority of it stems from exploration. My class is broken to hell so all I got is exploration.
People said cthun was impossible back in vanilla wow… all it took was 40 people who could work together.
What they guy above me said… ever tried to have fun instead of waving your kitten?
My idea of finishing map means I talked to majority of npcs and checked their dialogues not just ran from poi to vista to skill challege and as soon as i got 100% left and never came back.
ran 15 games now in a row. 4 autobalancing from winning to me being ALONE on the team that is loosing…. 8 games of 2 v 3, 1v 3 and 2 games with proper 8v8 and 1 game i was a lone entire duration.
I play the worst class(necro) and I can still take it from an average joe with sharks helping him.
What most people never realize is that once you take ruins most people wont even bother to take/re-take it. So who ever gets it first usually wins. Other then that underwater combat is part of game deal with it. Underwater deathshroud is next to jagged horrors on the list of most kitten up jokes played on necro class but i’d rather have underwater combat then not.
Kinda wish they would add kegbrawl in spvp rotation that stuff is awesome lol.
Blind well? It works if the other person is blind and never heard of dodge. Thx for trying tho. And before you say dagger immobilize…. stun break/steal/teleports/leaps and a million of other ways to make all your wells nothing more then a 5 seconds worth of floor nuisance.
For all intensive purposes this is one thing that gets me even more irritated then the fact that necros are broken beyond believe and yet remain ignore with every patch.
Who ever put thiskitten feature in, can take it and shove it where sun doesn’t shine. I’m frankly fed up with winning and being on a decent team then when everyone on the other side rage quits I’m shoved there regardless of anything. Even if I’m with highest score I’m still tossed… wtf is this idiotic feature? If someone rage quits I get penalized for it? And if you have some moronic notion that 5 points for winning is irrelevant then you can also shove it. Its not about points its the idea and the fact that you are put into a team I would rather never deal with.
I can deal with necro being garbage class and at least go PvP with mostly working spec but every time I’m autobalanced I feel like I should reroll flavor of a month class and post videos on twitchtv or what ever is the current attention hoho hangout spot, of me “owning” noobs with 100b or some other best newest thing of current build.
Other then that loving the game…
In theory he does have a point that DS offers the biggest diversity with no sacrifice. And yes second hp bar with much more easily renewed resource is a good idea.
In reality DS is welfare oh-kitten button. Nothing more. Even the regular run of the mill 100b spammer or heartseeker spammer can chew through a fully specced DS in a matter of seconds. A good warrior can literally blow you out of your DS before you can even use fear button.
Also skills in DS underwater are utter disgrace and skills on land…. while better still mostly either welfare or make no sense. Teleport to target as ranged?… in light armor? What that? A suicide attack? Also fear…. 3 second fear for thief and warrior… we have 1 second. On ALL of ours. And that is our one and only CC we have regardless of spec.
All i saw from that is 160 dmg attacks… congrats at 80 any other class can hit with auto-attacks for 10 times that at the very least.
So what if i soloed a gold champion here and there… they were full melee meaning any ranged class can do that. Except for the part they would do it 10 times faster.
Useless attention hoho is still just that an attention hoho.
Every class says that every class 3 shot mobs. I’ve seen it on every forum.
It’s just grass is greener syndrome.
I also know get I get plenty of 10k up to 16k being the highest, single hits from thiefs. Warriors can hit pretty hard and consistently and fast on top of that but not for that much in single hit. Anyway…they can still burst in you in 2-3 seconds if you don’t dodge/fear run like your balls are on fire.
So maybe its denial syndrome on your end.
Heh… I played warlock from day 1 vanilla wow…. Yeah that was much worse then even necro at its current state. But hey… I’m a stubborn guy that first character I made I also carried as my one and only class that I played(and didn’t delete after few days- weeks tops… I did make a druid when we finished naxx and aq40… but only leveled her when bc came out) until the day I quit… something tells me my stubbornness will be equally painful here. I have great memories of playing an utterly broken and unfinished class then… of a half a year, not even, being op… and then being nerfed with every single patch if not directly then indirectly.
Conditionmancer for pve is even worse then minions…. since on any event you’ll be lucky to get any loot or score silver. Welcome to 25 bleeds limit world.
Also as far as minions go…. there isnt really any choice in build.
20 spite/20 death/30 blood. If you are going for all minion skills and its not subject for any kind of debate.
Flesh golem is horrendous idea for condition build. Blood is power only useful if you are running any kind of DS heavy spec. Otherwise its a waste of time. Big bleed damage means nothing… it is spread over 30 seconds… in that time it will be either removed or some one will die. Also your gear runes make no sense. Poison duration?…. I wouldn’t even bother. And where is your plague signet?………………………….
1. elite skill take plague. 20 seconds of aoe blinds can mean you will stay alive while ur full stack of bleeds gets that rogue/warrior/guardian down. Theres nothing else work taking. Since your damage in lich form will be laughable.
2. epidemic/plague signet/corrupt boon. Its not even subject to debate.
3. Do yourself a favor take 30 points in spite tree. It gives you passive condition durations.(spiteful spirit for shrugging off melee bursts, signet mastery and spiteful marks) with that duration boost. You can switch to greater runes of undeath. and wear rabid amulet.
that gives u 30 spite/30 curses… last 10 points… I honestly don’t know… take either mark of evasion/dagger mastery from blood… or greater marks from death. Honestly if you like to use staffs which you should. Greater marks make more sense since mark of evasion can’t be out at the same time as mark of blood. Also evasion mark gives 2 bleeds and not 3. Also theres internal cd of about 10 seconds on it. All in all either dagger mastery or greater marks. Which ever you value more.
Forgot to mention… as most necro related skills… Greater marks is as broken as it gets. Half arent any bigger… chill isn’t applied properly…. oh and they aren’t unbreakable at all. So i guess dagger mastery it is!
(edited by HiSaZuL.2843)
I’m not sure why you are all so happy and reassured… Last time I heard that response it followed by scepter nerf. I don’t deal with promises of a better future. I’ll believe it when bugs are actually fixed. When changes are made for the better experience.
Why go conditions for PvE when your main source of damage – bleeds, have a hard 25 cap and…. oh I don’t know… every other class can stack bleeds with warriors/rangers/thiefs doing it even faster then condition necro. And minions are nothing more then wet noodles that don’t even regen… so every second fight they die right away and you are stuck with a lot of cooldowns. Bah forget it… its all listed right at the top.
Now that I vented I actually find it funny that I entirely forgot about main class mechanic… Death Shroud. In pvp anybody with half a brain will instantly lock us out of using life transfer which is the only ability worth bothering with. Teleport to target? For a ranger class? Thats a funny one. Fear…. well… that’s one button still worth pressing.
Oh and unless you spend 30 points there are actually classes that can 1 shot your entire death shroud life pool. Cute…
And don’t even get me started on the under water version.
The only good part about being under water as necro is that mesmers can’t moa polymorph you and disable and remove every last mechanic you have. I’m just waiting untill our staff skills get replaced by some garbage …. I’m honestly waiting for it now.
Ok… game has been out for long enough to get around fixing the most obvious and game stopping technical issue out atm… I’m tired of playing a lottery. Maxed out settings highest resolution with lets say queensdale swamp boss… and I’m sitting pretty at a very nice 50fps… now for no reason I could be in empty parking lot and BAM fps drops to nothing. With v-sync on so my eyes don’t bleed out fps drops to 3-4 fps… with v-sync off I could still get to MAAAAAAAYBE 15-20 fps… I’m fine with 30 fps. But those sudden plunges have completely ruined my exploring black citadel into… @#$%^ when with this @$#%& end and I can get out of this @#$%^ so i don’t have to watch a @#$%^ slide show.
Honestly this is the most reported bug out there. And it has been left to rot ever since. I find it amusing I can run into this issue in any multitude of ways. Same map on same server can be fine and next day it will be eye gouging hell. Most irritating is that sometimes its not even an entire map… its a slab of land that produces it… leave it… and your back to normal.. take a step back and fps drops to nothing again.
Running through queensdale atm… yay glitch happened so im stuck walking at 3 fps… Meanwhile I’m playing Crysis 2 undex max settings with hi-res textures and dx 11 patch on second screen. Funny how that still sits at 60 fps even while this atrocity is giving me a slide show. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll get to CM.
I’m looking for some folks that do ~80 pve with full minions spec. I’m kind of curious if anyone found use for boon removal trait in PvE. Or am i really stuck with 20 spite/20 death/30 blood. Condition removal train at 30 points in blood is… well… if you want blood fiend you are stuck with going that route. 30 point death traits atm look horrible. Poison explosion is…. well BAD. 1 it does even less damage then scepters 3rd attacks poison not to mention if your minion didn’t die from damage it wont even trigger explosion so bone minions explosion/blood fiends heal/flesh wyrm teleport all kill minions and don’t even trigger that poison aoe. But I do like the idea of getting more toughness from passives in that tree to just survive longer so I can resummon minions. 20 points in spite for 30% dmg increase is great but passive bonuses from that are… well useless for minions and semi worthless for beefy MM. And DS in PvE isn’t really much better then it is in PvP… its still a welfare o-SNAP button rather then what it was advertised. Considering that you can be hammered out of fully speced DS in mere seconds by half the classes that know what they are doing.
I guess all i really ask is…. do you see all that many npcs with buffs. And there is no easy way to tell in pvp if boons are removed by minion or something else. Its too hectic to sit there trying to figure that out so the few times i tried testing it out I gave up with no real info in the end as far as PvP with MM goes 30% dmg is hands down better then a supposed 10% chance of removing 1 buff does it work on all boons… just some… priorities? do all minion skills count too?.. too many questions and no answers.
And spare me the whole minions are trash. They are… AI is worthless, half the time your “minions” have a barely visible amount of hp and just die in next fight, they are squishy to the point of being wet paper noodles and whats the point of jagged horrors again?, traits are tossed around in such a bizarre way… but then it also refers to most things related to necro, entire spite tree looks like an odd collection of someone having no idea what to put there so we got a bit of everything. I get it… I know at its current state its a cruel joke. But all I do in PvP is spread love with epidemic and make warriors/guardians cry when they do the massive boon parade and suddenly all that turns into conditions. Its not that I don’t like playing condition necro… I just don’t feel like doing same thing in PvP and PvE. And since PvP spec is separate I have no intention of using 1 spec. On side note the few instances I did do as MM so far weren’t THAT bad… yeah if some thing uses aoe for the most part its resummoning game. But hey… if its not then for the most part my cannon fodder does a fairly good job of being cannon fodder. Granted I haven’t seen 80 instances and if its aoe parade I wouldn’t take MM necro there myself lol.
Oh yes… almost forgot…I hate mesters moa poly and the whole concept of rendering all necro elite skills/ds/and minions utterly useless in the face of that great feathery monstrosity…. seriously? all minions go poof? ds/lich form/plague gone too? Who designed that?
