Looks like you guys broke the feed! (Chat says it can’t connect and the video just sits there churning)
Please don’t start this again…NA people seems to go berserker when it’s matter of recruiting, hijacking every single thread where there seems to be even a remote reference to “i’m transfering and don’t know where” ò.ò
We were trying to get TW to go to a server that none of us are on so we could fight them, and they’d have plenty of opportunities for GvG.
Looks like it’s about to start.
They’re all stacked up on the field.
TW looking for people to fight as always.
Having little luck due to being stuck in our same basic match-up for weeks on end.
Would love to see you guys transfer down to a T2 or T3 server for a few weeks. That’d be a lot of fun. I would suggest FA since they have a pretty wide variance in T2/T3 matchups, and they don’t have a very active GvG community relative to a lot of other servers.
I remember vaguely during my KN days where TC was applauding KN for not spawn camping during our 7 week slugfest(The best 7 weeks in WvW).
It’s not spawn camping when you own the keep. It’s “defense.”
Hehe.. noted some buddies of mine from SOR gave me these Blue was TC btw, I guess the Tier 1 ppl will love your rationale coming week=)

Does this count for dungeons as well?
Dungeons have been 3 hours since launch.
Final score was 9-0, EP. No video yet, but we have one waiting for editing.
We had crowd interference once in our favor (two players, round 6) and once in their favor (one player, round 7), hence the extra two rounds. I’m not sure if the GL’s decided to throw those extra two rounds out or what, but I included them here for explanation’s sake.
We’ve submitted the score on gw2gvg, but RET hasn’t confirmed yet.
EDIT: This was 15v15
I am guessing you guys noticed the quaggans were also gone?
Maybe the Quaggans found a good hiding spot…. perhaps where they left a FUNCTIONING group UI for WvW. Maybe the quaggans will actually be able to form a group properly and be able to kick offline quaggans and invite normally.
I wish I could run with my guild and use a functioning group UI in WvW to manage our group… lucky quaggans.
Hey, what do you think about a functional group UI? Could we use something like that?
I think the lack of consequential WvW changes (not updates, but real changes) is really starting to grate on players. :-/ I’ve been playing random other MMOs and FPSs lately to get a break from the monotony.
250,000 Total Kills in WvW Ultimate Dominator (almost 800 hours) gives a total of almost 50 achievement points when a living story 10 hour content give the same amount of points?
800 hours? Most dedicated wvw players have racked up a lot more than 800 hours, and a lot less than 250k kills. 250k kills should award about 1000 points all on its own. :P
I would love to be able to transfer to EU for a few weeks and see what it’s like over there without having to shell out $50 for the ability.
wut? if you think the game is region locked, it’s not. there is no difference between the NA and EU client. it just takes 5~10min to transfer to EU rather than being instant.
I’m talking about the cost, not the time. You have to spend money, or…at this point…shell out about 150 gold for the gems to transfer there and back.
Though you raise an interesting point. It’d be cheaper to just buy a second copy of the game. :P
Our experience in T1 differed a lot of times. They’ve learned a different meta up there. A lot of them don’t fight because in T1, if you lose a fight, you lose a keep along with it a lot of times…. They run when we’re used to fighting in lower tiers. It’s not a cowardly thing, so don’t think I am implying that, but they have learned a different game that many of us just don’t find all that….attractive.
.. huh? I don’t think you understand the meta at all. I can’t speak for the other T1 servers but I’m sure it is pretty similar to SOR’s. I’m sure TC wants to fight over this supply camp, but when our garrison in another BL is getting golem rushed we will pull out and port to go save it. Call it “running” if you wish, but that is the advantage of having a community-wide teamspeak server. If we run past from a fight it is usually because there is a much larger fire to put out. All the guilds have been wiped countless times, no one is afraid of dying.
I was referring to the even-numbered fights that were being retreated from repeatedly, with the opposing server just barricading back inside the tower or keep. It wasn’t about porting out, because as soon as we turned around everyone would pour back out of the tower/keep….until we turned back around. This happened continually and was very frustrating.
The lag is also definitely not overstated. Very few open field fights were free of noticeable skill lag. It’s flat-out awful. I could stand T1 weeks if this single factor wasn’t at play, but the skill lag is so horrible that most of us don’t want to get anywhere near it. It’s really bad.
I actually enjoy eating tofu. It is awesoe.
Ewww. I had pizza for lunch. And Pibb Xtra…..formerly known as Mr Pibb.
I’m also excited for this matchup. Gonna be an interesting watch. I believe chemsorly will be streaming it. http://www.twitch.tv/chemsorly
Also: we should definitely make this forum our own. :-)
As much as I want to fight EP in open field, but you guys are always in a zerg with multiple skill groups, or 30-50 people…
But MU, EXS keep it up you guys are the best on TC. Neither of you run in zergs, much respect.
believe me we dont like it much either. it always starts with 20-25 EP and all of a sudden theres 15-20 green names =/
Ya…
Unfortunately EP’s developed something of a militia following or something, and we can’t seem to shake it. I feel like we end up fighting WORSE when we have extra on us…because rally bots.
We never run with a tag, and almost always end up with extras following along. :-(
To the OP though, we rarely ever have as much as fifty. Typically we waypoint and hide for a few minutes if we get more than 40 total. >.>

I like Mif’s idea. Let’s just make this forum the unofficial GvG forum.
Guild vs Guild
15chars
Your gear will be converted into gear of another type.
MF gear is also the cheapest gear in the game by a large margin. It’s not a big loss even if they just flat removed it.
MF is a broken mechanic and needed to be removed.
Seems like the key drop rate is slightly more common than that of precursors…. I’ve been playing since launch and only gotten two keys.
If it’s one keystroke per macro, there’s quite literally no point in a “macro” key on the keyboard. The only purpose for a key like that is to do more than one thing with one keystroke.
Do people ever stop whining about the lack of rewards in this game? ANet has had to nearly ruin the entire spirit of their game over the last six months to keep people feeling rewarded….and you come in and ask for more. It’s just turned into a champion farm fest with a horribly nasty in-game community.
Be happy you got anything at all. Most MMOs give you NOTHING for having a character’s birthday.
At least you’re not 50-70 with a majority of your group running Minion Master builds.
Looking forward to fighting you as well.Oh god #Magswag
LOL You know my pain, then. I thought we almost had them at one point on the bridge inside of Bay, but I think our raid leader freezing up and rubberbanding back into the middle of the bridge(though he didn’t die), among other things, cost us that fight. Alas, it was not meant to be, and we could not slay the minionzerg.
Though I am heartily against open field siege, I would love to know what one superior arrow cart would have turned that fight into.
I think WvW should be “rewarding” enough that we get the things we need in order to continue playing. I play WvW because WvW is fun. PvE has done this very strange morphing into nothing but an endless “reward” farm. I mean….do these people endlessly farming the same champion event over and over and over actually stop and think about what they’re doing? Like….really? All you’re left with is “why?”
How people think it’s worth it to spend hours and hours farming out worthless artificial currency while not actually having real fun….is beyond me. Yeah, it pays well (artificially), but it’s not….fun. WvW pays better than PvE at any level of rewards, because WvW provides real challenge and fun. Even if it’s a buggy, mostly neglected, mess, it’s far superior than what ANet seems to be investing most of their resources in.
What happens when ANet realizes that their game is nothing but farming and pulls things back to even half of what they added with this farm event?

Is your framerate really as bad as it looks in that video? O_O
FPS down turn. >3< Only in ZvZ
:-O How do you even play like that.
@Hickeroar
That’s assuming you find those fights. If one say logs in at 1 am during a weekday the lands are probably barren, particularly if you happen to be on the dominant server at that timeslot, pvdooring with zero resistance gets old fast.
Can’t argue with that. 1am for TC is still pretty hot, but 4am (for comparison’s sake)…not so much. FA likes to stay up late, but Mag and DB all seemed to go to bed around 11pm or midnight. One of my favorite things about FA is how late late they fight…..and boy do they fight.
Also: I think the PvDoor mechanics that have developed since launch are really detrimental. The fact that a server can be so populus compared to their rival that they can stand there for 10 minutes and autoattack a door down without any checks….well, it kinda hints at a core problem with matchups and balancing. That’s not fun for anyone. Offense or Defense.
People and guilds transfer to T1 cause it’s 24/7 non stop battles, can some of you guys in the lower tiers say the same?
Our experience in T1 differed a lot of times. They’ve learned a different meta up there. A lot of them don’t fight because in T1, if you lose a fight, you lose a keep along with it a lot of times…. Also, 80v80 fights are not fights…. They’re lag festivals.
Lower tiers, 25v25, 40v40, etc, are a lot more enjoyable as far as fights go. It seems like even “T1” in EU works that way from the streams I’ve been watching lately. They really don’t blob the way people in NA do.

Unless a T1 server implodes it will probably be TC, when the guilds get fed up with the pvd
I feel very strange about this. Other than the final free-transfer migration, TC hasn’t really lost any guilds. Seems like people are always migrating TO TC. I think I’m stuck in a place where it would be really crappy to see TC lose people, but I also want a fair matchup with that “who’s going to win?!” feeling at the start of every week. I kinda feel like our guilds are mostly really good “friends” to each other. :/
Maybe we’ll get lucky and a smattering of T1 guilds will randomly move to FA and DB to even them up with us. :-P
But then we would lose a T1 server and be stuck with another imbalance
Nah, I meant like an even smattering from all servers. It’s really just a blind hope that I know will never be realized.
It would probably leave us with 6 servers that were relatively evenly matched, honestly. How amazingly cool would that be?

Yeah if MAG got some transfers we’d have a solid t2 with FA/DB/MAG. Don’t know about TC, you guys are like t1.5
/cry
I know. :-(
I wish TC wasn’t so stacked, such a huge imbalance of tiers now. Nothing you can do as people do choose your server/you bring people over not much of other peoples business.
I really do miss the FA/TC/KN and FA/TC/DB match ups, by far were the best and closest match ups we had before the influx of transfers.
My favorite was definitely FA/TC/KN. FA and TC butted heads, of course, but overall it was the most balanced challenge and most fun WvW experience. I would love to have something like that again.
I think there are quite a few on TC who agree that we’re pretty unbalanced and in an awkward place at the moment. Short of guilds transferring off, there’s sadly not a lot that can be done on that front for the moment. :-( I keep hoping for some WvW change that miraculously makes population a lot less important.
The server imploding cycle was kinda important though. it kept the T1 mess we have now from happening.
How is it a mess? Its the most even and competitive than its even been…All 3 servers can win if they play PPT, JQ/SoR/BG are all monsters in there own light. There are great fights to be had every where, great commanders on all 3 servers, great community’s, and great 3 way rivalry. The only time its a mess is when the 3 get broken up…
It’s not competitive. It’s “who can blob the most.” We’ve seen T1 several times now, and trust me….it’s the LAST thing most of us want. It’s a horrible experience. 90% of players just blob up, rarely fight, and then bunker 70 people inside a tower with 5 arrowcarts.
That is why I haven’t said anything about TC…which by the way did quite well in the NA time slot while in T1. Just because you or your server doesn’t like something doesn’t mean its shared by everyone or every server, also doesn’t mean its a problem.
Fair point.
For the record, I personally liked TC a bit more when our WvW presense was about 750 persons smaller. I think we’ve recruited to a rough place now, since we can’t get more people. We aren’t big league enough to compete in T1, too big for less than T1. I don’t like the T1 meta personally, but a lot of people have worked hard to get TC there.
DB needs to hurry up and implode so FA and Mag can swell up and balance T2 with TC.
Not that I don’t miss FA / DB / Mag
LOL. FA/Mag/TC. I would personally love it if we were all evenly matched. Not sure a lot of my server-mates would be on board with that though. xD

I also think guilds would feel more free to move around servers for various fights and changeups. Boredom would keep things from growing too static on any given server.

Yea, use the “2v1 maneuver” in combination with “we’re always outnumbered” tactics! It’s quite old but I hear it’s super effective!
Yeah, here on TC everyone 2v1s us, and we’re always outnumbered 5:1. Why are you meanies so mean?! Gah.
FA: 250
C’mon FA! Time to up your game!
I’d love it if your server for WvW was independent of your server for PvE, and WvW transfers were free. That would kill the server stacking meta that exists currently.
Probably not technically feasible without massive changes in “the way things are done.”
How would that kill the server stacking meta? If anything, everyone would just stack to the winning servers and the losing servers would be completely empty.
The stacking meta started when server transfers stopped being free. T1 was “stacked” to a degree when it was free, but NOTHING like it is now. What we have now is absolutely a world apart from what it was.
If guilds were able to transfer all over the place, at will, lots of guilds would just try out different servers for different experiences, and stacking to the servers with the most fights, etc, would be a lot less of a priority, because you could always transfer back later if you wanted.
I would love to be able to transfer to EU for a few weeks and see what it’s like over there without having to shell out $50 for the ability.

Dang I missed that thread, thanks for point it out!
Actually I just made it when I saw your thread. Figured we could make a real one in the right place and hope it gets noticed. Devon’s quoted response was pretty telling. We’ve been asking for it to be fixed in the WvW forums for a while, and it turns out it’s not a WvW specific thing.
Guards/Warriors are frontliners. CC heavy, buffs, condition clears, very very important.
Eles are generally midliners (D/D (or S/D)) or backliners (Staff). They deal a lot of damage, various forms of CC, very very important.
Play each one for a few days or a week. Level the one you have the most fun on.
In my experience, D/D ele is the craziest (most exciting, but hardest), anything front-line is fun and quite exciting, ele backline is super super important, but not everyone (including me) finds it hairy enough to be super fun. Some people absolutely love it though.
We had a few FA spies come into EBG and troll people over the weekend. They admitted they were spies/trolls, and I actually thought it was pretty funny. I reported one of them for spamming because he wouldn’t shut up with the all caps spam, but the rest were just trolling and making the “too serious” players very irate and angry. I can’t help but respect a good troll. xD
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvW-Party-management/first#post2705775 Reply here for great lovin.
I think the best solution is to add a small bar/line under each inventory item which is the color of its rarity. That would make inventory management so much easier.
We would all give many many cookies if we were able to kick people from parties while in WvW. It’s been a long standing desire of us WvWers, and you can’t imagine the love you would garner from this change. :-)
25k kills really isnt that much idk why you’re expecting gold from it. I’m approaching 100k and i dont feel like thats very special either
That’s because you’re a pro, Tybs. :-P (that and you’re a necro tag machine!)
People can post all that they want with imaginary numbers, and insults at server cultures and guilds, all that good stuff. But those who were actually playing the game, fighting at the battles , they know what really happened. And that’s just delightful
I would credit it less to “imagination” and more to lack of “information” and “experience.” I always make sure I actually look at individual tags when I estimate a count. I “intelligently” find a glob of what looks like roughly 10 players, and then compare that glob to the overall “blob.”
What sometimes looks like 30 or 40 players often turns out to be about 20 once you actually inspect the player tags and see how many individual ones you see. I kinda arrived at this by making blind estimates of like 40 players in a zerg, then once we actually wiped them, realizing there were really only 20-25 once we got close enough to see them.
Only saying this because I think all players need to be able to accurately estimate numbers, or intelligence reports are immediately flawed. I can’t count the number of times we’ve had people call in a “Massive <insert server here> Zerg at <insert location here.>” We get there, wipe them, and there were only 15.
Two weeks ago it was Yumm. Last week it was Agg. This week it’s Awe.
Who will be next?! Tune in next week for the next episode of “Matchup Thread Beatdown!”
