It would make sense that all the skills follow the same pattern as ‘Hide in Shadows’ but this is GW2 where the expected is unexpected. I’d just run out and test it quick, assuming you are a warrior.
Yeah, the thief skill ‘Hide in Shadows’ does this. It removes the poison before granting the heal, thus giving you the full 100% heal instead of the 33% reduction.
I have an old Logitech MX-518 which was an awesome mouse. The rubbery skin peeled off after excessive use, but besides that, its a very comfortable and durable mouse. However, now that GW2 is out, I use a Razer Naga, which is a godsend, imo, for the way I like to setup my controls. WASD is for strafe and forwards/backwards, the mouse is used for turning. Then all my skills (1-0) are on the thumb buttons of the Naga, and the class specific stuff (default f1-f4) are q,e,z,c. No long finger stretches required and I have full movement while using skills, which is something I didn’t have to worry about in GW1.
Load up the game and see what happens. It’s not all DX11 machines that are having problems, only some. As for preventative measures, drivers are the only things I can think of.
4.) Blind is applied only 10% of the time. If, as a thief, I shoot ten shots at the boss and each one blinds, theoretically, one will actually blind him.
5.) Normally I don’t actively try and blind the boss, at that point dodging is more effective.
The processors you are referring to are codenamed Haswell, they are due out at the end of Q2 this year. If you can wait 4ish more months, you should start seeing Haswell out and about.
What CPU do you have and do you overclock it? Error 124 when overclocking my i7 930 means that my CPU wants more voltage running at whatever I had it set to. If you’re overclocking, up your voltage or decrease clock speed. If you are not overclocking, then I would head into your bios and turn off any power saving options.

Haswell is coming out at the end of Q2 this year. It should be an exciting release. =D
You cannot change the order of the skills as they appear on your bar. The best you can do is change the key bindings for them.
Your best bet is the Official GW2 wiki. They list some, if not all, the known bugs with an item on that particular page. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune
highfive That has to be one of the cooler things I’ve seen done with one PC. I’m going to take a gander at this softxpand, this might help my siblings at home who share a PC.
If I were you and didn’t want to spend money on an entire new mobo/CPU. I would overclock your CPU once you get your temperature situation under control. I was able to get my old i7 930 from 2.8 Ghz to 4.1 Ghz running within the safe vcore voltage limit. It’s basically like a free performance boost.
However, if you can’t get your temps under control, dislike the thought of overclocking, and only want to get a new CPU; getting an i7 8xx is your best bet giving you 2 more cores and 4 more threads than first gen i3/i5, plus a higher clock. However, the cost of a i7 8xx from what I have seen is arguably more expensive than just grabbing a i5 3570K and a 1155 mobo which will result in a much better performance/dollar upgrade.
Another note: Even with the latest generation i5/i7 processors, at stock speeds you won’t get excellent performance in chaotic WvW battles. For this you’ll need an overclock of around 4.5 Ghz to get at least a solid 30 fps in the most hectic WvW battles. This can be blamed on the way GW2 is coded, which relies on heavily on single thread performance.
I’m pretty sure C2Q and C2D are all 775 pin. Unless your motherboard has multiple sockets I don’t think you can downgrade to that without getting a new board. What motherboard do you have?
I misspoke earlier, you can upgrade to a i7 8xx processor on an 1156 board. The highest end one you can get is the i7 880.
Upgrading to an i7 920 would require a new board. You’re running on an 1156 pin board, where the 920 runs on a 1366 pin board. The best you could upgrade processor-wise is to a first gen i5, specifically this one: http://ark.intel.com/products/48504/Intel-Core-i5-680-Processor-4M-Cache-3_60-GHz

I’m not sure how to fix it, but I know how I generated it for myself which might give a hint as how to fix it.
Originally I was running the game fine and then I wanted to toy with the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel to see if I could make the game look any better. It turns out this was a bad idea since it introduced this semi transparent textures glitch. I reverted the settings, but it did not correct the issue. The answer may lie within the Nvidia Control Panel.
I remember running Riverside Province (or whatever mission it was with the ship rising from the bay at the end) on my Ranger. Good times…good times indeed.
I believe in the specific example you have given, it removes conditions from yourself.
I agree with the OP for the most part, they should make is so that the number of people required to kick someone is the number of people in the party divided by 2, rounded up.
Guys forget about sigils I am talking about weapon stat +5% to crit damage
To elaborate:
I am wearing berserker exotic sword MH
and berserker focus OH
Both without sigils have in stats +5%crit damage
Now how does it work ?
My bad about the sigils thing, I’ve been wasting a slot this entire time then D=
In regards to flat stats on weapons, yes they stack. You will get both +power, +precision, and +crit from both weapons.
I believe they do stack if you have two passives (sigils) of the same type on both main hand and off hand.
If the chat window is in the way, you can drag the chat window to the top left corner and then you might be able to get access to your hero panel again. If that doesn’t work, maybe deleting the local.dat file might delete the saved locations of all the windows and put them back into their default states. The local.dat file I think is in the install directory for GW2. (C:\Program Files\GuildWars2\Local.dat) Deleting the Local.dat file also reverts all your other settings to default.

It depends on the population of the world you are transferring to. I remember there being prices like 800 for low, 1200 for medium, 1600 for high. I couldn’t find a source though, but I know numbers were stated somewhere.
You could tell they tried to bring the essence of GvG back in the form of tPvP with the Foefire map (the one with the 2 guards and the main guy worth 100 or whatever points).
go to options and theres an option there where it sais ‘’local time’’ and ‘’server time’’ and then you click on server time and it will show it on the minimap in left lower corner of the minimap
your very welcome
Server time is not in-game time. Server time is based on GMT or something whereas local time is based on where you are physically located playing the game. The time we’re looking for in this thread is in-game time, used for day/night weapons/sigils or in this case, screenshots.
Thanks, everyone. The conclusion I’m drawing is that there’s no in-game setting for this. I’d love to see them add it to the game, but I’d be the first to admit that this would be very low-priority. There are definitely other features and bug fixes I’d want to see them implement prior to this. Would have been nice though.
Yeah, I can see them adding something in the map so that in addition to showing server/real time, it can show in-game time as well.
When it needed, I love my natural vigor and Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew
I become the dodging master!
do you know if they stack? I haven’t actually done tests…
(I have sigil of fire on long bow and sigil of blood on my short bow)
There was a thread previously made about whether how much endurance stuff you could stack. IIRC, they do not stack, but this wasn’t my research, it was merely just an interesting read.
Hey Ilithis,
Nice to hear from you man. I was wondering then, as a Thief, is there anything you can do to stop the BS ressing? There seems to be no valid AoE stun available to a Thief. Its just very frustrating to down one guy and have the other guy(s) just press F to make it 2v1 or 3v1 again.
While there is no aoe stun for us, we do have a way to take care of a Xv1 situation, but its based on steal unfortunately. Fearing everyone away using the skull steal skill works well.
As for doing this based not purely on what steal gives you, you can usually get the resser and the downed person inside pistol whip so they both take damage, thus forcing the resser to stop and deal with you or the resser dies as well. Either way its a win-win, but anything beyond 2v1 gets risky because of the additional damage focused on you while one person kills you, as you try and kill the resser and the downed. This is one of the reasons I run around with a S/X.
The highest movement speed you can achieve in game is 33% which is only provided through the boon swiftness. All other movement speed buffs will not stack and only the highest you have will be taken into account for your current movement speed, which, without swiftness, can only be a 25% increase.
This is currently true for most classes. Thieves top out at 50% in stealth when traited. I also believe there is a rune that gives player’s under the boon swiftness an additional 7% speed increase, bringing the max most of the classes can get to 40% (with the rune and under swiftness). However, I believe that rune is currently not functioning properly.
Sup Manchu,
Player’s downed health depends on how much death penalty they have accumulated. Death penalty is applied every time a person is downed. You get one point of death penalty per down, and at 5 (I think), you automatically die die. The more death penalty you have, the less downed hp you have. One point of death penalty is removed after a minute.
I really enjoyed UW and FoW but i feel if they put them into gw2 it would sort of ruin those memories you have from gw1 and also if they didn’t do it justice people im pretty sure gw1 players would complain.
that said they could try and re make one of them and see how it goes/how the community reacts.
I agree, FoW was my absolute favorite place in all of GW1. Bone dragons were my favorite enemy, I’m not sure why to this day still. There used to be a thread a long long time ago on guru that had conceptual ideas for the other gods’ realms. FoW being Balthazar’s and UW being Grenth’s. It would be neat to see how screwed up Lyssa’s would be. As for the story of Lyssa’s realm, it could relate to how the gods are fighting the dragons (cheesy start I know, but with more thought it might turn out nice).
Yeah, visibility of what guilds own what is lacking right now. 99% of the time I could care less about what guild owns what because all it is is an image on a banner. If you toss more information into the system, like the ideas mentioned above, normal people would care more I’m sure.
Me being a person who does not hardcore WvW much, I know some guilds ‘carry’ some servers in WvW, but information farther than that, like banner images and guild names/tags, I just don’t get enough exposure to them to know of the larger WvW guilds.
Heres to adding more detail to WvW maps!
Just to clarify, you’ll no longer be able to use waypoints when a party member is in combat inside a dungeon. This is prevent people from using waypoints to rush and kill bosses or clear areas, which is not intended game play.
All other forms of res remain unchanged.
Are you confirming that we can resurrect a fully dead team mate, at any time?
Are you also suggesting that this will make it that if one person dies in an encouter, they cannot WP to resurrect? The only way is to use the orb or get rezzed?
Basically what he is saying is its going to be the same as fractals. There will probably still be the waypoints instead of the checkpoint system in fractals. What I see happening is when everyone is dead, the popup window occurs, then it would list the available waypoints unlocked so far and you could res to one of those. This way the waypoints wouldn’t have been wasted effort, and if you needed repairs, you could port to the start waypoint before waypointing to the latest waypoint. It just seem like some paths are less linear than fractals are which makes the checkpoints they would have to place require more thought. Another reason to use the waypoint system rather than the checkpoint system is in AC, since you can run past everything and get to the checkpoint, only one person would have to be able to run it, others would wait. This kind of activity is already seen in the underwater fractal.
IIRC, observer mode wasn’t available at launch for GW1, but corpse spectating was. Granted, it would make more sense if corpse spectating worked off the spectator stuff they should make for PvP.
I remember observer mode being ultra smooth between transitioning between views of different characters, where corpse spectating was much more crude and rigid when swapping between viewing other characters in the party. Which would explain why observer mode’s spectating seemed much better.
I think he is referencing something similar to what one can do in GW1 when dead. You can click on another person who is alive in your party and switch to a camera around them and control that camera without disrupting the view of the player who you are ‘spectating’. It was really nice in GW1 since you could watch your teammates combat the enemies while someone with a res was ressing you. You couldn’t spectate enemies, so you got no unfair advantage of who you could view and who you couldn’t.
I think they mean that people won’t be able to res at way-points.
Kind of like Fractals are now, where you can’t res at the checkpoint while people are still in combat.
Honestly, I always hoped this would be implemented for normal dungeons. Half the time I forget I can res when I die from a waypoint because I’m used to the whole Fractal mentality of ressing.
This isn’t an exploit, the only way this would be an exploit is if you were somehow getting more ori from the node than one does normally on a per character basis.
Figured as much, which is why I didn’t bother to see their faces live.
Some people sell them on the Trade Post, some people take the gamble to get ectos to sell on the Trade Post, and others who shoot for legendary weapons save the weapons to toss into the forge.
There is an ability on some bosses that make is so blind only works 10% of the time. That way you can’t blind tank any boss to make it easy mode.
I created my guild and we have the guild bank. We’ve never experienced problems like this unless the permissions were not set to allow withdrawals. Try making a new Rank maybe with permissions for only the guild bank to withdraw and set another member to that rank and have them try.
I cheat and use a Razer Naga, that way I can toss a majority of my abilities onto the 12 mouse buttons and keep one hand on the mouse and the other on the movement ‘wasd’ keys. The abilities that don’t fit on my mouse I put close to the ‘wasd’ keys so that they’re within easy reach. I bought this mouse specifically for GW2 earlier this year, I would be lost without it now.
Thanks much Curuniel!

^ That.
My guild is mainly on FA, but some people are hunting for a server that has the god shrines unlocked so they can get their obby shards. When they transferred over, they saw no influence that we had on FA and all the upgrades from the FA side did not exist. When they transferred back everything was hunky dory.
I’m on a quest to find a sage leaf for my cooking. I’ve been around Gendarran Fields and the map the SE dungeon is in multiple times mining all the 3 types of plant nodes that drop the sage leaf. I’m hoping that someone can confirm where they got their sage leaf because I heard a rumor that certain spices have a higher drop rate in certain zones. For instance, of the 5 times I went around Gendarran Fields, I got a lot of Oregano leaves. I want to avoid the trade post even though its ultra convenient. Let me know where you guys/gals found your sage leaf.
I seriously hope more skills will be added, maybe even underwater only ones to enhance underwater combat, but lets be real here. It’s not going to happen until the expansion comes out, and that’s not happening for another year (give or take some months).
Current usage of skill points, make better siege equipment blueprints if you’re into WvW. Else you can just stockpile them for weapon skins if you’re into that. Otherwise, I would just keep them as personal prestige points like in GW1.
First things first:
Bacon for Chefs. Seriously, why is there no Bacon?
You bring up a serious point…
Bacon Burger
Bacon Pizza
Fried Bacon
Mashed Potatoes with Bacon
Dare I say the ‘Krytan Baconator’!
Food effect: Gives avatar heartburn during the food’s duration, decreasing energy recharge by 25%. However, it would also give you +100 power because its bacon =D
So, just to clarify here, is the maximum number of guilds an account can be in 4 or 5? I was under the impression it was four until I got invited to a fifth and joined.
The ones that you are looking for that boost the defensive stats do not exist. As stated above, the only items that do this are for the 3 offensive stats.
