@Brazen
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I’m confused by your comment on limiting the LOD, where in options have I accidentally limited it?
@Riku
Bummer that you can’t play but at least you can still enjoy the forums! Thanks for your input.
@No One
Interesting that overclocking helps that much compared to your stock vs Brazen’s overclock. Good to know that I will have to overclock to get what I want out of the 4670k (or 4690k for that matter) if I go for it.
@sirsquishy
Does hyper threading make a difference for GW2 at all? I am contemplating an i5 because my i7 nehalem far outlived its usefulness before games used many threads. With DX12 on the horizon for some games that might change so games use more threads. However, for GW2 use, isn’t the IPC the same between say the 6600k and 6700k because they run on the same architecture?
I appreciate all your guys input, some interesting data for sure.

Hey Guys,
As an avid poster in this section of the forums a few years ago before I left I was hoping some of you guys could let me know what your system runs at FPS wise with the settings I have posted in the attached picture. I plan on making a return to the game and with my aging system the expansion finally might make me upgrade.
If you guys would let me know what hardware you are running on (CPU/GPU is all I really care about) and let me know what FPS you guys get when looking over the grove from the vista you can see in front of me looking towards the center of the grove at a slight downward angle, I would appreciate the help.
If you guys are curious at what I am getting my whopping 15FPS with, all my relevant hardware is found on my second screen if you pan over.
TLDR: I have a ***king old system and I’m contemplating worst case scenarios for haswell and skylake processors on whether I should upgrade.
Thanks,
Ilithis

Hey Everyone,
Let me preface this with that I’m not looking to upgrade my CPU, yes it’s old, yes it’s not optimal for GW2, but GW2 is the only game I play where there is extremely heavy CPU bottlenecks.
That aside, has anyone done some testing to see which video settings seem to affect framerate during a CPU intense (bottleneck) scenario, like in zergs? My old GTX 560Ti-448 left me bottlenecked on both sides of the equation at times, but with my GTX 970 there is plenty of breathing room on the GPU side. I currently run everything at “all thrusters go” and it works alright in most instances. I’m just looking for a shortcut to see what affects the CPU the most before going into my own testing.
Danke,
Ilithis
Same problem as above…
is there a specific profession to craft with that’s more economical than another to lvl that way?
http://gw2crafts.net/total.html
This site is excellent for crafting your way to 400 in any craft. I haven’t used it for 400-500 yet, but I suspect its equally as awesome.
Basically as the title says. The tool tips for all my other Thief signets; Assassin’s Signet, Infiltrator’s Signet, Signet of Shadows, etc. show my might I gain from Signets of Power, and the proper duration that is modified from my boon duration, and the two initiative from Signet Use, as well as the correct cool downs. However, Signet of Malice does not show that I get the two initiative and the might, even though in the field I actually do when I use Signet of Malice. The cool down is correct though for Signet of Malice.
Hi, I need a help, I dont know what of this hardware is best for playing Gw2:
It’s really up to personal preference really. I love my Naga though and find the thumb buttons amazing to have access to for using skills. Therefore I would vote that the Corsair mouse is the better of the two, but that’s really just my opinion based on preference.
Firstly, this should probably be in the suggestions sub forum.
Secondly, I agree with some things, I like the half second of invuln, but likely should be changed to evade so that it doesn’t destroy any projectiles. This still gives the person a second to gather their surroundings. I’ve never experienced this effect yet, but I’m assuming what the OP said is true.
I have the same problem, but like you said its just a graphical thing since the amount of achievement points awarded it still correct, and the amount of times that the achievement can be completed before it stops awarding achievement points is reduced by one.
I believe it was Saturday that Keg Brawl was the activity of the day, and I ended up in a match that didn’t end when one team reached 11 points. The game went until the timer dropped to zero. Thank goodness there IS a timer, because otherwise it would’ve been a literally endless game. We ended up with about 120 or so points between the two teams.
It was fun, but I don’t think it’s intentional for matches to last that long.
I had the same thing happen on Saturday night. My game didn’t get nearly as high scores, I think we only got to 30’s each. The same thing happened, where the game ended once the timer ran out. The awards were still awarded and the winning team (mine) got the better reward still. Just seems like the 11 goals to finish isn’t in effect. As this wasn’t in any patch notes, I assume this is a bug.
Just wanted to confirm this. I see the same thing happen on my elementalist, this is still a relevant bug without any feedback AFAIK.
Sounds like you just need active people to talk to and play with. I would suggest joining a very active guild.
A bunch of friends and I just run fractals and dungeons to have fun, to each their own though.
Hi guys
Im looking to purchase a new keybd and mouse. I used up to death my HP factory issue kbd and my old guild wars1 mouse from razer on last legs. Any suggestions on a good gaming kbd that’s backlit, mid price, I can make macros and has a nice ability to manage keys. Mouse Id like to stay with a 2 button on the side mouse like the razer and stay with the ps/2 approach rather than usb and wireless. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Took a look at the gw2 steelseries kbd but it is no longer available.
Inkie
ps/2 is…old and antiquated. Is there any reason you want to stay with that, like due to lack of USB ports or something?
Mid price means different things to different people. Mid price for me is the 40-70 USD range. Logitech’s keyboard lineup isn’t too bad.
I recommend the Logitech G500 + a ps/2 to USB converter if you’re really needing a ps/2 port.

Has any one made this link yet?
Is this how Steam creatures evolved into what they are in the future?
I was thinking about how these new lifelike metallic creatures are similar to the already-in-the-world steam creatures.
Though, I have to say, the steam creatures look like they took a step backwards when compared to the new creatures introduced with this latest patch.
So maybe they’re two distinct ideas or maybe in some alternate reality the Grand High Sovereign is in Scarlet’s place and due to the nature of the portals, one was tampered with to become a one-way time portal, ala The Terminator, which is how the Grand High Sovereign came back in time. Perhaps to help Scarlet take over the world…

You can play at a lower resolution than the native resolution your laptop is currently at. Go to your graphic settings to adjust the fullscreen resolution to something that is lower than whatever you play at now. The graphics module you have is only 15% better (notebookcheck.com) than the minimum requirements to play the game. ArenaNet doesn’t state how well the minimum requirements is able to play the game, just that the game launches.
I too ran into this issue. Kinda bummed I didn’t get my 1 achievo point D=

I keep having problems with my computer crashing after playing GW2 for about 10 minutes. It doesn’t happen with any other game. I’ll be in the middle of something and all of a sudden the screen goes blank with 2 different shades of vertical gray stripes. My specs are as follows…
Mobo: intel dx58so2
CPU: intel i7 950
GPU: Radeon HD 6970None of my components are overclocked.
I’ll attach the error log.
You might want to make sure your CPU and GPU temperatures are within their limits. If you don’t already have software that monitors your CPU temperature and GPU temperature then I would recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.23-setup.exe
Your crash log says your last crash was last year.

also one more thing, I recently discovered that since version 10 adobe flash adds a protected mode sandbox by default that is incompatible with firefox and probably most any other program – they keep it hush and you have to dig deep to find any posts about it – apparently they think safety is more important than having a functional computer. ( kitten talk here ) – so you may want to disable the protected mode on your adobe flash – my ‘new’ system is randomly freezing because of it now. I honestly wish I didn’t have to use adobe – hate is a strong word, but not strong enough. to describe how i feel about their flash program and the monopoly they have with it.
You should try ‘loath’ then. It seems to pack a little more punch when compared to ‘hate’. :p
For GW2 all are wasted money……for other games the 780……only b/c sli/cross-fire have issues that some ppl find unacceptable,
As to why:
The 7990 has cross-fire issues. Even though AMD has said they will be alleviating a lot of that soon, we don’t really know. What we do know is the 7990 is being discontinued. So specific update driver support for that card may be lacking with future iterations. Oh and it’s 950-100 bucks.
The Titan is boss of single gpu cards….no doubt about that, but it’s 950-1000 buck for 1 gpu.
The 780 performing near the titan capacity in games for 350 dollars less is a no brainer when opting between the two. On top of that if in the future sli gets better and you want to add a second the 780 scales better for gaming in sli than the titan. So for the same price you could on one had go titan sli for (lets round) $2k or 780 sli for $1300 and get almost the same gaming results…..or for the same 2k you could 3 way sli (giving issues get resolved) and crush the 2 way titan sli.
Granted I wouldn’t buy any of them as I would stick to a 770 or a 7970 ghz atm and throw in a water block for less, specially the 770 as the boost is reliant on temps.
I would put my money on a GTX 780, or save money and choose option D) GTX 770. In reality though, unless you are supersampling, those cards are a little over the top.
Hello,
I have been having problems with this game since.. May. I have been playing since release and never experienced problems but at the moment my game crashes a lot. It does not happen when my fps drops or anything but just at random moments.
This is what I did so far:
- Update Drivers
- Update DirectX
- Reboot multiple times
- Reinstall
- Opened Support ticket, nothing that worked.
- Repair the Client with the ‘-repair’ command.
- Removed any unwanted startup programs that might stopped it.
- Went into NVIDIA control panel and changed settings, did nothing.
- Did not use overclocking AT ALL
- Checked Overheating, was no problem + RAM/CPU Usage wasn’t high.
- Ran in ADMIN Mode, changed nothing.Specs (Laptop):
Intel Core I5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHZ
NVIDIA Geforce 540M
4.00 GB RAMI added the Arenanet file.
Please, what is there to do?
You can check to see if your hard drive is failing by performing a disk check. To perform a disk check, you simply go to ‘My Computer’ and right click on the hard drive that has Guild Wars 2 on it. Then, click properties and a new window opens up. In the new window, go to the ‘Tools’ tab and click the ‘Check now…’ button.
Also, in your crash logs, you don’t have a crash newer than May 8th, 2013.

YES! I have this exact same problem on the exact same laptop which I bought because I was told would easily be able to play GW2. So far I have never got an error message at all, the installer “just quits” after you click the yes icon for “Do you want this program to make changes to your computer” and nothing else pops up after that. So far I have tried
- Renaming installer to Gw2.exe
- Deleing the Dat files
- Running as administrator
- Turning off windows firewall and anti virus
- Moving installer to a different directoryBasically any answer that I Goggled for I have tried with none having any effect at all!
Please help!
What are the specifications of the computer you are trying to install Guild Wars 2 on?

Ok so I’ve contacted support and they appear to have gone dead on me for some reason now, so I’m making a post here.
System specs (If anyone wants a copy of my DxDiag if they think they can help i will happily upload it)
Windows 7 64 Bit
Processor – Intel® CORE i5-310M CPU@2.50Ghz 2.50GHZ (quad core)
RAM – 6GB
Model – Alienware M14XR2
Graphics Driver – NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, and Intel® HD Graphics 4000Ok so what is the issue, well these specs should be able to easily run GW2 at lowest specs with a decent FPS, however i find myself running at a relatively low FPS and getting unbearable FPS drops in intensive areas such as Dungeons, WvW, and LA, and I’m talking sub 10 FPS, and using Heaven Benchmark i got an AVG FPS of 40 with only 2 FPS drops below 20 which only lasted literally milliseconds.
So what have i done allready;
- Reinstalled GW2 to a new location
- Repaired
- Done everything in this link – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/FPS-and-Performance-based-issues-1/first#post338300
- Disabled all start up processes with MSconfig
- Updated all my graphics drivers
- Disabled every single non required process with Smart close – It should be mentioned that i had a very high process count of 100+ and even when i ran this i still had 70+ processes going yet only had about 6 showing in the list.
- Run GW2 as admin. And yet after doing all this I’m still getting FPS issues.
Disregarding the LA and WvW (if we’re talking large WvW battles) performance since that is normal on a dual-core hyper-threaded first generation core iseries Intel processor at a pretty low frequency. However, your performance in dungeons shouldn’t be affected too much since only 5 people are around. Do you get drastic reduction of FPS in Dungeons?
Being on a laptop, you should check and make sure your GPU and CPU temperatures are within their limits. If you don’t already have software that monitors your GPU temperature and CPU temperature, then I recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.23-setup.exe

so, still having the same issues, anyone got some more leads for me?
I would try deleting the local.dat file. This file is located in a directory named something along the lines of ‘Guild Wars 2’ in your user documents. This file just holds some of your user settings in the game, but has been known to cause all sorts of seemingly random problems. The file is automatically generated when the game starts again, so deleting the file is not a big issue.
Except Ilithis the CPU benchmark database at Notebook check shows the i7-4700MQ having nearly the same performance as his desktop i5-3570K which is what he asked. He didn’t ask about a laptop with similar performance to the current top end Intel desktop CPU, just to what he had.
Yeah, you’re right he didn’t ask about how the laptop compares to the current top end Intel desktop CPU, he asked what would meet or surpass his desktop in performance. Whether he meant performance in general or performance in Guild Wars 2, I can’t say.
If we are talking about performance in general, then you’re right.
If we are talking about Guild Wars 2 the 4700MQ has worse single thread performance though, depending on the benchmark its anywhere between 6-11% worse. I was wrong when I said any mobile processor would be worse, the 4800MQ, 4900MQ and 4930MX are better single thread performers than the 3570K and better suited for Guild Wars 2. This is at stock clocks.

Ok. So, built my own new comp, everything was working fine for awhile, then my video card started artificing and turning off suddenly, freezing the computer.
Sent it back, got a new card. Still kept shutting off suddenly, making a noise like the fan was turning off (a wheezing sorta slowly down). But after that initial stutter, it will play for hours afterwards.
Company was kind enough to send a THIRD card, and still getting the same problems as the second card.
my processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106010&Tpk=amd%20fx%206200
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130826
Power source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159126
Since the power source is 700w, that should be enough to run the video card and the processor, so any help as to why it keeps just turning off suddenly, then working fine for awhile?
Note: When the screen locks up after I hear the noise inside, the screen turns either all white, all black, or (once) all green. Then the card shuts off (monitor says loss connection) then turns back on.
Have you considered that the PCI-e slot might be bad on your motherboard or that your power supply might not be functioning correctly to output the correct amount of power?
You can check what voltages your power supply is supplying by using HWMonitor, which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.23-setup.exe
This is the reason why No one should simply recommend to Buy a better cooler and reapply the paste. The guy obviously has no clue what he is doing…and now possibly on the brink of making the problems even worse.Stop reaplying your own paste…Send it to someone who Knows what hes doing, and will mount the cpu correctly.Continue with this and you might end up damaging your cpu.
Yea, he wasn’t even overclocking and had totally fine temperatures compared to the TjCase, suggestions just caused needless spending and hassle of trying to do it properly.
He said he could easily reach 65C in his original post. With my understanding that thermal shutdown for the FX-8320 and FX-8350 being 70C, I was concerned.

Thanks again for the support.

http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP8265-S
If you want performance of a recently built desktop, you’ll have to get a desktop processor inside a laptop. Something like the i5 4670(K) or i7 4770(K), not anything with ‘M’ since it stands for mobile and will be slower. The price will likely sky rocket because you’re getting the best of both worlds, the power of a desktop and mobility of a laptop. There are reasons why both worlds still coexist, its unreasonable to have the best of both worlds.
The 770M is also worse off than the 7870. The 780M is better though, so if you get a 780M and a Haswell desktop processor, you’re set. This is outside your price range though, so there isn’t anything that can best your desktop and stay within price range.
A couple places you could save money:
Your GPU…199.99 for a core xfx 7870 is not a good deal.
Your PSU again 63.99 for a corsair 600w builder series is not a good deal
Your RAM….same story…you can get 1600mhz easily for the same price
Assembly…if you can screw in a screw and plug in a wire you can build a PCIf you were to save in those areas you could easily afford to upgrade your cpu.
I hope you realize that those prices are not in USD. Since you didn’t mention the currency I can only assume you meant USD.
As for the OP, get at least a FX 4300, the newer architecture is worth the money. Scrap the SSD drive since you can later get one and add it to the system. Keep everything else as-is.
Just realize that without overclocking your CPU you will still get lower frame rates in more crowded areas of the game, like LA, large WvW battles, and large dynamic events. If you plan on learning how to overclock, you’ll want to get an after market CPU cooler in addition to what you are currently getting.
I’m not sure what your plans are for the older computer, but you can salvage parts from it, like the CD Drive, case, and hard drive(s). This will save you more money which could get you a FX 63XX or FX 83XX instead of a FX 43XX processor. You might be able to meet your goal of 725 then.

Hello. I am using a lagre resulition of 3200×1800. Even if I pick “Largest” UI scale, it is still not lagre enough fot my eyes not to hurt =)
Does someone knows if you can adjust UI even bigger?P.S. I am using it for OGSSAA aka supersampling, so you can downsample to smaller resolution and have extremely sharp and less aliased image =)
Nope, if you could adjust the UI even larger, it would be included as a setting in the UI scale options.

i guess i’ll just send in a support ticket…
Have you tried a -repair on the gw2.dat file? If not, I would follow this to try and see if a repair on the game’s data will fix your problem:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments
I know its from the original game’s wiki, but the principle is the same. The switch you are looking for is -reapir.
Hello guys, I`m looking for a gaming laptop because I cannot go for Desktop because I`m travelling alot this year.
The setup I play, makes it quite easy to reach the highest graphics, since I dont play with Shadow and I dont care about how long I can see objects.
I basically want a smooth gameplay, but also the effects, like magic, casts and stuff like that on the high/highest settings.
I play 50%/50% S/T PVP and PVE.
My old PC was a i5 3570k – 8GB DDR3 – Radeon HD 7870 1GB DDR5, so if a Laptop can reach that, or even surpass the performance of my old Desktop, I will gladly buy it in a blink of an eye.
Thanks guys for your support <3
The only way you’ll be getting the performance of a desktop in a laptop is if you get a desktop processor inside a laptop case. You’ll want to look at something from here likely:

I’m running an i7-2600k with a GTX 650. If I want to maximize my performance gains in WvW, should I upgrade my CPU or my video card? I’m not sure if WvW is CPU bound or not. Thanks!
WvW is CPU bound in situations where there are a bunch of people around. Check your GPU usage during a fight and watch the GPU usage drop as well as your frame rate drop. The CPU can’t feed data fast enough to the GPU to produce enough frames for a smooth FPS.
With that said though, you won’t get too much more FPS, maybe 20% if you move to Haswell, more than what you get right now, so if you have 30, you’ll likely get 33-36. It really isn’t worth upgrading from Sandy Bridge. Overclock your processor and you’ll see better results.
It should also be mentioned that everyone experiences low FPS in large WvW battles, there isn’t a consumer grade computer than can do large WvW battles and make it look good (60 FPS) at the same time.
Thank you for the fast reply
Anyway… i’ve bought this one

74°C…
I have a little fear….
What i can do? Can anyone help me pls?…
I’m not sure what you can do besides moving your computer into a better/cooler environment. If new paste and a new heat sink made things worse, either there is still a bad connection between the CPU and the heat sink or something went crazy wrong with QA at AMD.

aaand there’s the log.
edit: i looked into wddm drivers, and it seems that ver1.2 is only supported by win8. is this information correct?
Well, the temperature only seems to get to 83-84C which isn’t too dangerous yet. The bus lanes are also right, so it seems like right now your graphics card checks out.
Lets make sure your CPU isn’t holding you back. If you don’t already have software that monitors your CPU temperatures, then I recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:

it’s normal? or it’s too high?
How i can manage this?

http://i44.tinypic.com/154jedd.jpgWhat i can do?
There is a config that i need to follow for my Nvidia GTX 660 Ti?Now im trying SweetFx… but really dont know what i can do…
I would stop any overclocking you are doing on the CPU, if any. Buy a better CPU cooler, like the CoolerMaster’s 212 since the stock one isn’t the greatest:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
and make sure you have some decent thermal paste instead of mustard. Arctic Silver 5 seems to work well for newcomers to entry-level enthusiast PC upkeep.
Repaste a processor:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VSDkB-3st4
Yeah, it should be fine.
Graphically, it should handle more than lowest settings since you’ll be playing at 720p instead of 1080p.
The only problem you will run into is the low frequency of the CPU hindering the frame rate in higher populated areas.
Overall, it will run the game at a decent clip, but it just might not look the best if you’re used to 1080p content.
Here’s the ArenaNet.log in txt format.
Maybe it has to deal with your RAM. Can you run memtest86 on your RAM to see if any errors exist? Memtest can be found here:

Yeah people tell me that on game when I send them my pc specs, but i’m not…sooo idk what the issue could be? Perhaps there is something in the bios I need to change for this game? Possibly the amount of cores being used per processor? Or it could be the number of processors itself.
You can try unparking your CPU cores:

Have you ran a disk check on the hard drive that has Guild Wars 2 on it?
To perform a disk check do the following:
Go to ‘My Computer’ and right click on the hard drive that contains Guild Wars 2. Click ‘Properties’ and a new window should pop up. In the new window, go to the ‘Tools’ tab and click ‘Check now…’. From there just follow the screens to complete the disk check.

It’s FPS, I have sampling turned to native and reflections on ALL. It seems the higher I OC my cpu the better it plays, but I don’t have inter cooling so anything higher than 4.2ghz would cause harm to my system. But my old rig only has 2.8ghz and it was able to run the game 40-50fps
Don’t use ‘All’ reflections, this should make it so that you experience 60 FPS in most areas of the game.
Also, if you’re in crowded areas like large WvW battles and large dynamic events, or in a populated instance of LA, you will experience lower frame rates. The more people on the screen, the more the CPU gets used, and eventually it can’t work fast enough to feed the GPU enough data to make enough frames per second. Normal PvE (by yourself) you should be experiencing 60 FPS at 1080p with all max settings besides super sampling and reflections set to ‘All’.

“directX setup has detected, that a newer or equivalent version is already installed”
so nope, that’s not it.
i can, however, attach the GW2-test file from this nifty little NCsoft Tool….
I want you to download GPU-Z and make sure the graphics card is using all 16 PCI-e lanes. GPU-Z can be found here:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2252/techpowerup-gpu-z-v0-7-2/mirrors
You can also make sure that the graphics card is not over heating either using this application. Make sure that when you monitor your temperature and whether the graphics card is using all 16 PCI-e lanes that you are in Guild Wars 2, not at the character screen or login splash screen.
Most of the time if I enter Zypher Sanctum my game black screens forcing me to restart from the mains and makes the current content unplayable.
Also every so often my computer just restarts without restarting if that makes sense. It’s only with guildwars 2. The temperatures are all fine. It just restarts but never really turns on, its in a constant state of just being turned on
Have you tried to do anything to fix the problem yet, like perform a -repair on the gw2.dat file, or by deleting the local.dat file?
Have you checked your GPU and CPU temperatures? If you don’t already have software that monitors your CPU temperature and GPU temperature, then I would recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.23-setup.exe
this is the message i got on the bluescreen; A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you’ve been seen this Stop error screen, restart
your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then select
Safe Mode.

where do i find the logs? i know i got some but i dont know where they are,
Without retyping a mini guide on this subject, this should suffice:

My first impressions are something wrong with RAM or the hard drive.

I’m with Ilithis Mithilander on this one. I would definitely recommend moving this card to the x16 slot to get the full benefits of the card. If the card is already in the x16 slot it is possible the issue you are experiencing is hardware related or bios related. Reseating is a good step to go with first.
I reseated the card and it is now 16×2.0 YAY! But the game is still just as laggy as when it was at 8×2.0. Anything I could tweak with, maybe in the bios? Or maybe my hardware is just not up to par for this game.
One problem down! Next I want you to define laggy, is it low FPS or actual latency you are experiencing? Latency are things like skill delay and avatars rubber-banding. Low FPS is…well low frame rates.
If its latency try guesting to a different server and see if it still exists, I want to test some theories I have about the latency issues people are having.
If its a frame rate issue, don’t play on super sampling or have reflections set to ‘All’.
While playing gw2 and salvaging stuff i suddendly was greeted by the terrible bsod with words like driver_irqpl less or more equal(something to that effect) and then my pc restarted.. can anyone tell me what the problem was? i dont want gw2 to damage my pc T__T
help please^^
No idea, we need the actual log of the error or the BSOD error code. Codes are as follows in this link:

Oh and yes, all my other games run normally
For some reason your graphics card is only @ x1 2.0 from your screenshot that you have posted. It should be @ x16 2.0. The reason for such a low FPS is that you only are using 1 of 16 available lanes on the PCI-e slot. I recommend reseating the graphics card on your motherboard and ensuring that all other power connections to the graphics card are properly inserted.
For some reason I always disconnect at the 57th minute of the hour. So at 11:57,12:57 and so on. I just get a black screen and it says I lost connection. Anyone else has this problem? It annoys me very much since im most of the time leading in WvW.
I would try this:
Uninstall and re-install the most updated drivers for your network adapter. To do that go to your computer manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers for your network adapter. Then, click on start, in the instant search window type in devmgmt.msc. This should bring up the device manager. Right click on the network adapter listed below click on uninstall. Now go to the latest drivers for your network adapter and install them.
Then, if that doesn’t fix it:
The reset command is available in the IP context of the NetShell utility. Follow these steps to use the reset command to reset TCP/IP manually:
1. To open a command prompt, click Start and then click Run. Copy and paste (or type) the following command in the Open box and then press ENTER: cmd
2. At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
3. Reboot the computer."
