I think the more popular weapons, Sword, Greatsword, Longbow, dagger will come with the expansion, and will need the expansion map completes to craft. Just an extra reason to buy it, from a marketing perspective.
I think it will be a warhorn, and I’d like to see a Rin theme warhorn, perhaps the “Stormcaller” that was the mouthpiece to the Horn of Doric in GW1

I don’t think you need a WvW mission, but the Guild Hall acquisition mission. Players don’t even have to join the Guild to help out.

Do you think logging in causes DDoS attacks? The DDoS attacks aren’t targeted to Guild Wars 2 only.
I just tried it, and it’s saving my Invisible status; I usually play in Invisible mode.
You might consider trying a -repair of the client, and/or clearing the GW2 cache, whilst awaiting a CS Team response.

This ‘bug’ has been reported in this sub-forum (and others) countless times. It only affects the Forum ‘Support’ link (all other site pages’ redirect don’t have the issue), and only affects some users.

There are no mounts….yet.
Though, I think ArenaNet will have its own spin on mounts, much to the disappointment of many expecting traditional mounts.
It really isn’t ‘grinding’ to discover all that Core Tyria has to offer in the way of map exploration (not to mention everything else you can do in Tyria [and it all rewards XP]). Your characters should reach L80 long before you finished 3/4 of the maps.

I like it, too. Just not in the GW2 universe.
At the end of the day, the game has long since abandoned any sense of individual style and if this helps finance the game, I mostly just let it wash over me and ignore it best I can.

I think that style of boat is commonly seen in Core Tyria maps and artwork.
I don’t think we are going to Cantha, but anything is possible.
Well, I’m partial to Ranger, but Necromancer is great, as well.
You can use the L80 Boost to try out each and every Profession in The Silverwastes map, and possibly get a feel for how each Profession plays at max level. Once finished trying out the Professions, the L80 Boost will remain, waiting for you to make your final decision later.

I would suggest saving the L80 Boost until after you have leveled one or two characters naturally. You will not miss out on the leveling tutorial tips and rewards that way, and will be better prepared for the newer L80 content.

But, Legendaries were that way at launch (barring just buying one, which one can still do). One had to complete Dungeons, participate in WvW, etc.
It seemed a sizable portion of the playerbase thought that just buying a Legendary wasn’t very legendary, and Gen2 Legendaries had journeys, and then they didn’t, but other than being able to buy one directly from the TP, just like with the originals, there is content required that not everyone enjoyed.
Thus, I’m not sure how much ‘play as you want’, or the lack thereof, has changed in regard to Legendaries.
ANet’s commented on this in the past — they have no plans to implement it. It increases the complexity of their efforts without providing a predictable, solid benefit to enough players.
The OP’s best bet is to check out the English-language wiki’s update page (always linked from the wiki’s home page) — that will show the approximate size for the English client, assuming you had all previous updates (if not, you’d have to manually add up the previous file sizes).
The sizes will be different if you’ve selected multiple languages (more files to DL) or something other than English

Maybe it could be Jeweler because jewelry is (in real life) cosmetic, and Jewelers could create these Gathering Tools with special skins. =)
Of course, this doesn’t change the wood issue, but maybe other mats could be used, or Jewelers could learn to refine a wider selection of mats.

You don’t really have to choose the Day 28 reward; you can just put the Chest in storage. I have something like 15 or 20 in the bank, as I haven’t decided which reward I want.

Well, we used to have both a Studio Design Director (Chris) and a Game Director (Colin), so either position may be filled.
Mike O’Brien is currently filling Game Director, and Studio Design Director has been vacant for some time.

It seems ok; I’m sure it will feel like the norm in a few months.
One of the things I found confusing was finding Black Lion Keys in ‘New’ Items; they are neither on sale (often labeled as ‘new’), nor a returning item (again labeled as ‘new’).
Preview is nice, but I immediately went to Gathering Tools expecting a preview, and was a bit disappointed. That’s probably the only change I would really like.

Do be aware: Any story mode completion prior to the introduction of PvP/WvW reward tracks in 15 April, 2014 will not count.

Well, OP said they left from the Guild Hall. I assumed they didn’t enter it from Verdant Brink, else they would have had a Waypoint.
Of course, one should not assume.

I don’t think the OP is lamenting not being able to finish the HoT Story, but lamenting the fact there is effort required to acquire a HoT Legendary.
