I am confused. So, something is only valuable if you don’t sell it? Because many people sell the loot bags (from which said indirect loot comes from) for a pretty penny; and, I guess, find them more valuable (to them) by doing so.

I don’t know. Would it be the same issue that Fractals had? Where people couldn’t find others of the right ‘dungeon level’ to play with? Maybe it would not be an issue once the new LFG tool appears.

There are several ‘types’ of creatures that have no slayer achievement associated with them. Perhaps, sometime in the future, they will be added. I wonder…is there a tonic for each creature that IS associated with a slayer achievement? Sorry, kind of off-topic.

The devs have stated many times that they pay attention to the suggestions found in that forum. Either they read the suggestions themselves, or the mods bring them to their attention. It sounds like a good idea, I think…I don’t do dungeons much, as PUGs scare me. =P

It’s only June 3rd, Washington time. The release page says there will be more information on June 4th. Patience, dear one. =)

Oh, and they did announce that starting June 4th, the karka queen event would start, and Kiel, I think, mentioned the Dragon Bash coming up in LA when her job was finished in Southsun. I’m thinking that starts on the 11th. But, we will see tomorrow (later today for some). =)

Just my personal opinion, but you will have much more fun without a guide. Much of the joy of this game is exploration, and I don’t mean just the map. You can always ask a question in chat (if you are really stuck), most people in the community are really helpful.
There is, also, the online ‘manual’ that ArenaNet provides.

Log in error

I am having problems with my log in getting error code 42:1000:7006:888.
I started getting this problem yesterday when I went to Cursed Shore (My character is still there he just needs to do last story mission). I started my computer about an hour ago and got on after three log in attempts only to have it crash when I loaded my character. I have been trying for the last hour to no avail. Last night it would only take four minutes for it to work and about to character log in attempts to play the game but that is not the case today.

A consistent thing I noticed is that it will crash when the loading screen for Cursed Shore doesn’t show the skill challenges, vistas, and what not at the bottom of the screen, it will load though if it shows that.

I looked into this yesterday and found that other people have had problems with Cursed Shore and the Arenanet team claimed to have looked into it and fixed it but they haven’t obviously.

I am a very busy person and spending an hour trying to log on is not the way I wanted to spend my hour of GW2 time.

If anyone can help me that would be much appreciated and Arenanet please fix this already.

You might have more luck posting in the Technical Support sub-forum. That’s where are the Techie people hang out. Also, there is a sticky at the top of the Tech Support forum on how to submit a Tech Support ticket. Good luck. =)

Disheartened with Leveling.

The first profession I made was Elementalist. It is now my lowest-leveled character. I loved my Eles (I had 5 of them, lol) in GW1; but, for the life of me, I can not play this one worth a darn. You might try leveling up a different profession, instead. For me, the last one I started leveling was a Necromancer, and it probably went the fastest of all, and is now my other Main. Eles are difficult in this game, I wouldn’t base my ‘fun factor’ on leveling up with one of them. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. (Hope you stay.) =)

My friend just bought the game though the website and registered the number with an account. The download bugged and he needed to restart the client and it is now saying that the password and email combination he is inputting is incorrect. Tried the same combination on the website and it still isn’t letting him in. He can’t get though the forgot password screen because he has yet to create a character. What should he do?

Is your friend using his email address associated with the game account and password to try to log in? If the display name (xxxxxxxx.1423) is used an error will occur.

Otherwise, if still having difficulties logging in, he can contact Customer Support thru ‘Services’ at the top of this page.

There are also two levels in which posts are gauged for popularity, on a per-thread basis and forum-wide. Forum-wide popularity takes into account +1s from within a set time period across the forum. Per-thread popularity takes into account all +1s in a thread. Visually, a forum-wide popular post will have a red underline beneath the thumbs-up icon.

I have to wonder about this, as well. How can a post be popular forum-wide? Does one not have to enter the specific thread to up-vote the post? Am I missing something here? Please explain, if you would be so kind. =)

Were skelks an event? I know whenever I happened to pass by there and killed some skelk, there was no event. Though, I must admit, I probably killed more underwater in that area than on land.

2. you can no longer respawn faceroll dungeons as you can’t waypoint while a party member is in a fight.

Depositing items

Heya!
So I have been bumping into this issue quite often where I would like to deposit alot of crafting materials, but when I click on ‘’Deposit All Collectibles’’ it also deposits the mini-pet I am carrying around. It costs me alot of time to deposit every item 1-by-1 because I don’t want to put my mini-pet in my storage.
I run into the same problem with PvP, I win a tournament game or open up a new chest, get new armor skins and I would like to deposit them all at once. But then I also deposit my Boosters and Finishers. And again, it costs alot of time to keep depositing every item 1-by-1 everytime.

So my suggestion/question is, is it possible to create some like ‘’Deposit All Materials’‘, ’’Deposit All PvP Skins’’ or even create a little box that you can tick on an item that will prevent it from being send into storage when clicking ‘’Deposit All Collectibles’’?

Would be a really nice feature to have, thanks in advance!

I loved the Crystal Desert in GW1. One of my very favorite places, there was just something about the crystal-clarity there, I guess. I hope it’s one of the first new places opened for us, and it is more like the Crystal Desert in GW1 than the Brand, as the Brand is just too much purple/purple everywhere for me.

A couple months ago i got hacked, and someone was logging in as I was playing. I tried to change my password, but he hacker beat me to it. To make matters worse, he also hacked my email so i couldn’t get a hold of my serial code. With that said i explained that to A-net, and all they gave me was some automated response and asked me how good the customer service was (and there was none). While it would’ve been wise to write down the serial number, i wasn’t expecting both accounts to get hacked simultaneously.
With that said, I was wondering if there was a way to either get reimbursed, or to at least get my account back. My email that was connected to the gw2 account is pretty much gone, so I feel like without the serial number i won’t be able to get much. But still I can’t help but feel like there’s something else that can be done about this issue.

Anyone else having problems with login in ?

It started with a black screen, restarted the game and got the message that i wasn’t able to log in to the servers. Guildroster didn’t work. after 5 min i saw the guildroster but had a huge lag on chat then i got kicked out again and now i can see my character selection but can’t click on “play”

What if we own 2 guildwars 2 account? Because i bought 2 guild wars 2 copy with 2 seperate keys one was for me and one was for my friend so i was wonder since my friend quit the game does the account still count as minds sincei bought them both? i have both the game copy with me and the keys as well to prove it. also i used a yahoo.email on my account so is it possible to change that email later on, if yahoo doesnt work cuzi read the first post from this thread abut yahoo email not working after augst.

Just to put your mind at rest about Yahoo mail service, it isn’t shutting down, merely changing to another version that some people may be uncomfortable with. You can keep your Yahoo mail account, if you agree to the new terms.

I don’t think it’s because of guesting, because the leader of one of my Guilds often guests, and there is no D or DE beside the world she is guesting on.

I have searched the internet/wiki and racked my brain…I can’t come up with an explanation that seems feasible. It would seem to have something to do with the worlds, or the designation would be next to the character/account name.

I only noticed it somewhat recently, the past month or two. It would be satisfying to find out what it means.

edit: overflows? in transit? dungeons? other instances?….argh

Hello, i just bought the game a few hours ago so i’m pretty much a little rookie.
So the game downloaded, i logged in, it was all smooth. And then i was facing the select world screen. I wanted a world with high population and in Europe, so i choose one of those worlds. However, the world i joined in, was DE (German). And quite frankly i don’t know german language =/

It’s not a big deal, the game is in English but it’s an MMO so communicating is a must. And since i don’t know german i can’t communicate with other players, well there probably are some english folk on the world, but i haven’t seen any. I don’t blame anyone but myself that i was stupid enough to choose a world which has players speaking a language i don’t know. I don’t like this because i feel isolated and alone in a big world. And exploring as everybody (well mostly) speaks in a tongue i don’t know feels really uncomfratable, like i’m not where i’m supposed to be.

So can i ask to be switched to a realm where it’s highly populated, english language and in Europe without paying anything? I know it sounds naive but i’m a raw rookie and made a stupid mistake. So if a moderator decides to transfer my account to another world i would be very thankful, if not, no harm done.

Yes, you can transfer to another server if you delete all your characters. Make sure to put all non-soulbound items in the bank, as the bank will transfer with you. Good luck on your new world. =)

If i delete all my characters, will I be able to switch server? I was with all my friends on a server, but my son transferred when I wasn’t playing, taking a break for a month. I don’t have enough gems, that’s why im willing to delete all my toons if that will help. please don’t joke, I need honest answers. thank you

It says client is unable to connect to login server. I am connecting on home network and have turned off ‘little snitch’ firewall.

Hi everyone!

Is anyone know that it could be possible to REFUND MY GEMS?
The reason I would like to do that is this….. -> I bought a bank slot for 600 gems, and unfortunately I didn’t realize that I can’t have more (I thought I can have +2 more, but I was wrong)…
So is it possible to get my gems back and buy something else? (I changed my golds to gems and it wasn’t an easy job, especially because I am not a gold farmer)

The keys very, very rarely drop as loot, but they do. Personal story is the most common way of obtaining them, other than using gems (either bought with cash, or traded for in-game gold) to buy them from the cash shop.

Oh, and they drop from BLTC chests, as well.

I have recently received an email which I havn’t seen posted before. A picture of the email has been attached, I would like some more information on whether this is just a phishing email or something else? The IP address comes from Los Angeles unlike others that come from Korea and China.

I may be blind, but I don’t see how it is dishonest to be able to buy things from the cash shop with in-game gold. One doesn’t have to spend one red cent. Nor are any of the items in the cash shop necessary to play the game; they may afford one a certain amount of convenience, but not purchasing anything there prevents one from playing the entire game.

I like the Living Story content. Dungeons are not my thing, nor is PvP or WvW. I understand you like those things, and wish for changes to them. But, for me, I would prefer they concentrate on the Living Story content, instead. We all have our opinions, and our preferences. New (temporary, or not) content in the open world is what suits me best. =)

I can understand you feel this way – being forced into buying things, but I, personally, don’t feel forced into buying anything. I have a bank full of rez orbs, repair kits, etc. and I seldom use them. Lol, actually, I usually forget I have them. I didn’t buy any of them, they were all just rewards from doing this or that. I will say that I have expanded my bank a bit, but again, I didn’t use any cash to do so, just traded in gold for gems. I have not put a penny into this game, other than the initial box price, though I would love to support ArenaNet had I the extra cash to do so.

I appreciate your opinion. I just wanted to put my opinion out there, as well. =)

They may have Living Story arcs that deal with Steam Creatures or any number of other plots within Tyria….just not in the next ‘two hours’. We are just getting started, so I am sure patience will reward us with many exciting opportunities.

And, starting with the current Living Story arc, we will have permanent content added as well, such as the Karka Queen event. =)

I was able to add it as an exception to the Firefox adblocker, and it works now for me, after all these long months. Not sure about Chrome, as I use it so seldom, I didn’t bother trying to change any settings in there.

I have forgotten my password to access GW2, so when I went to the relative Arenanet support section I cant access my four digit Serial Code, have checked every email from Arenanet with no success.
Unless someone from Anet helps me then GW2 is finished for me.
I realize the need for security but to get anywhere on Anet support you need your password oh wait I have forgotten it Doh.

Your friend’s account may have been compromised in his absence, and whoever took control of the account may have been able to change the email address associated with the account. Stranger things have happened. If something like this has happened, it takes Customer Support a bit longer to determine who the account actually belongs to, so try to be patient. I am sure they will respond to his ticket as soon as possible. Good luck. =)

Maybe if your IP address is within the EU region this doesn’t happen, but if you try to use this link from the US, it only takes you to the original page:

Even if you type it in manually, it takes you to:

I can’t say why ArenaNet makes the decision to bind things to account, or whether avoiding the bank would be better. As to the gem store, I believe items listed there are available to everyone, regardless of the version of the game one might possess. If you continue to have questions, feel free to contact Customer Support and discuss the issue with them.

Banned for 7 days for swearing?

If they want to include bans and suspensions for swearing, then the only question I have is if swearing is “forbidden” in the game, why do they even have the option to disable the filter? No one is allowed to swear so why have a filter?
