3) The very first guild hall to be captured is Lost Precipice by the guild “Za Drots”. They captured their guild hall less than two hours after launch.
Woah this is rather unexpected to us, we were sure someone else beat us to it. Didn’t really plan to be first, just sorta happened. Well I guess I’ll use these 5 minutes of fame to get some recruits, if there are Russian speakers that don’t yet know about us.
Za Drots is a Russian speaking gaming community with a strong presence in GW2 since launch. We like our WvW a lot, with mixed results most of the time, going to be more active in GvGs with HoT out. We have a sizable PvE wing that is getting ready for raids, planning to launch at least 2 groups when they go live.

The skill is probably unblockable so it can’t be reflected.
Uhm yeah thats what i am saying :-) but the whole topic was made because the tooltip does not say it is unblockable, and it would be on the strong/OP side if it would be intended.. (blind + destroy projectiles + unblockable (+that can trigger the knockback trait)) on a very short cooldown means it will counter allot with the already decent amount of unblockable skills DH/Guardian have
if this skill, test of faith (trap), and the burning from torch (fireball itslef is blocked) are unblockable what other unblockable skills does DH/guard have? i don’t think its decent #, i would even say guard has some of the fewest unblockable skills
its not a bug, they did it on purpose more or less. there were patch notes a couple weeks ago i think where they changed it so u could not use JI while in the air.
it could be just a casualty of them preventing people from falling off cliffs and JI to safety, but it could have been intentional
its a good change. i don’t want anet to act like carbine, end up stuck in an echo chamber w/ these “hardcore or else” players and forget what made the franchise all it is. it was about making the whole game accessible for everyone, not the best for only these people and the rest of u can click off
think its because, when i see it, i think, uh this could be lonnng match (not that conquest is fast by any means…) but w/ less than a full team, it could really drag on.
also if a conquest map is down by 100 pts or so, there still a feeling u can turn the tide, when i look at stronghold, and one team has all doors full health, and the other team already has a door down, no thx, not wasting time in here
right but cripple application is pretty built into the dragonhunter, w/ or w/o traps. so it could’ve been useful for dh regardless.

Sorry but cripple isn’t if you don’t use longbow though :-P
admittedly, u can be a dragonhunter w/o using longbow. but u are likely still looking at cripple traits
Zealot’s Aggression: Deal extra damage to crippled enemies. Justice’s passive effect cripples enemies.
Dulled Senses: Enemies you knock back are crippled. Enemies you cripple are also inflicted with vulnerability.
so w/ my ver of the rune set, i can roll w/ a ham and scepter focus, and still see benefit w/ the rune set and be a dragonhunter w/o using longbow or traps.

its arround 2-3 min for me to get into unranked majority of the times.
Plus about a minute for all 10 to accept match, then vote on map, then spin map and load in. Then you get another minute while people gleefully ignore the “I am ready” button. 5mins is probably pretty close even with 2-3min nominal q times.
you are both prob right. its just for me, i only have ~2 hrs to game a day, so when i sit down, i jus get so bored waiting on these queues, 2 or 5 mins, its just too boring. i only have a couple hours, so i want to spend all that time playing, not waiting. an then even after waiting to end up in an obv lost fight for the next 10 mins… its just not worth the time.

everyone knows healing power (HP) is broken. it shouldn’t be possible for a base dmg of 200 to jump up to 2000 dmg in berserker gear, but in full HP gear a base heal of 200 only jumps up to 300.
i think anet knows this. what i don’t really understand is why they haven’t changed it yet because of the new content that is coming (high lvl fractals and raids). they should have this stuff already balanced, so that a player can go all into a role (healing), otherwise a player in the healing role will be just a big joke. Everyone will just keep going for dps and sometimes click the healing skill, same as before, but now someone else will help your skill number 6 (the healing skill) [?with the small amount of additional heals from playing a heal spec? — implied i think]

just yet i noticed that when you play hotoin, the amout of total games in your scoreboard doenst change anymore.
Since i play hotjoin a lot for dailies etc, im missing a huge amount of games in my stats now (doenst bother me really, im just curious how many games i would have in total now)
Anyone can tell since when this thing changed? cause i usually read all patch notes but i feel like this wasnt written anywhere
i think it happened after bwe3 or around that time. i noticed it too, cause prior to that i think the beta account and real 1 were sharing pvp stats still somehow (likely wrong on this part)
so for bwe3, i wrote down my tot # played, did a match w/ beta acct, saw # go up, went to real acct, and saw the # was still lower (as it should be).
yesterday i noticed the # had not changed still (cause i only play hotjoin for multi reasons explained in other threads)
in sum, i think it was around this time.
Idk what a hack would even look like in this game. Can’t have aimbot or wallhacks, since you can do that legally. What hacks?

I really felt like not logging on the game again last night. Another bad losing streak from solo q. Like others have mentioned, it feels like it always puts you in with the new PvPers, then puts you against dragon ranks.
I’ve noticed that I always get matched up with duplicate classes too, such as 2 Thieves, no Elementalists, but the enemy team ALWAYS has at least 1 Elementalist, sometimes they even have 2.
I don’t blame the new PvPers, they’re new and learning the game, but it’s really frustrating when you get teamed up with people that just run to the enemy home node, get killed, don’t defend home or mid, don’t listen to instructions etc. There also seems to be a lot of quitters/AFKers.
A Thief decided straight away that the game was lost. Right at the beginning of the game, literally right when the game started before any nodes had been captured, he/she just said “I hate this game
”, and just AFK’d at the spawn point.
I love GW2 but this is getting so frustrating, that I’ve considered not bothering with PvP anymore.

i think comm wit the players is always good. dats how u have a community. w/ conversations. win most of the conversation is from 1 side, eventually that side gets quietr cause they don’t see the pt of talking alone into an empty room. then they go to where they feel their voices are heard. rite?

I don’t think some realize exactly how much work goes into building and maintaining a guild of any actual size. While the idea of free rewards for everyone sounds nice, there should be some payoff associated with the effort larger groups put into building communities.
Smaller guilds should be supported, but there has to be a point at which we say, that isn’t really a guild, or else the concept of guilds loses all meaning.
That said, I do believe Anet should explore enhancements to personal housing instances.
I don’t see where anyone is asking for free rewards? If a guy like the OP wanted free rewards, he could join a giant-size guild and mooch off the efforts of the rest of the guild.
I helped run a guild in another game for 2-3 years. I know all about how “free” and “effort” work. Moochers will be moochers.
Theoretically speaking, 1-2 person deal who tries to build and upgrade a guild on his/their own is putting in the top amount of effort a person can put into building and upgrading a guild. Free is the farthest thing from it.
I do get the part about guild concept and what a guild means and all that. I think that is a fair argument. But if we’re talking about 1 person, or a married couple, who are never going to join a guild outside of their small setup, then is the concept of a guild truly being harmed by their being able to accomplish something on their own?
Here’s where I see the validity of your argument: If there was a sizable number of people who would otherwise join a guild together, but are not doing so because it’s easier/simpler to run a 1-2 man guild. I don’t see that being the case though, even if micro guilds are capable of making monumentally slow progress.
How you keep things in line would be relatively simple (and keep in mind, I’m not well-versed in what the current/planned guild mission design is): You have a tier of missions that is only unlocked if your guild is 1-2 members. This tier is soloable, but gives a fraction of the advancement that regular tiers do. So if you are doing a micro guild, there is content for you, but the incentive is still there to join a “real” guild if you want to progress at the same rate as other players.

remember you can just make the exotic zealot inscriptions and transfer another asneded armor to keepers….
It will save you a bit it’s 1800 gold on heavy armor recipe’s and doing so will reduce the price to 140 gold + the costs of an other recipe set???
The prices went down a bit they have peaked on 2500+ for a heavy armor set worth of recipes…Am I glad I bought them when they were fresh… I payed quite a lot, but none of the recipe’s was above 75 gold..

I like the Power, Precision & Healing Power combination of the Keeper’s ascended armor set but the recipe prices in the TP are stupid and no activities are adding new recipe sheet drops to the supply so the prices stay stupid.
Does anyone know of rumours or plans to either a) drop more Keeper’s ascended armor recipe sheets into the supply or b) a new ascended armor set with Power, Precision & Healing Power attributes?
the only real way to do it right now is create the cheapest ascended set (whatever stats).
then craft the zealot exotic inscription.

thats why gw1 RA was so nice. no mmr, so fast matchups, tmd = very short matches. if your team was that terrible it was over in <2 mins. since no mmr, no streaks trying to keep u at 50% winrate.

I miss RA from GW1. Because it was fast n easy. Especially liked the auto keep team on win, auto kick to TA on 5 wins. I’d love to go back to that.
exactly. fast fights so you get to play more. easy to get in and play. i spent countless hour after hour in gw1 RA. w/ gw2 tho… man after an hour an i realize i’ve only played maybe 4 matches, it just don’t make me wan to go for moar.

Do not underestimate the nature of good-humored, player-regulated, extremely casual PvP. Those people who farm dailies in custom arenas and have a good time today may very well move on to unranked and ranked in the future. That’s how you keep your pipeline of new players into PvP strong—You give them an easy access point.
The proposed change to the reward structure would force people right into ranked to feel rewarded, and you’d lose a ton of good players because many will simply opt not to play the game mode instead. That is a very bad thing for both the game and the game mode, and is something ANet will never do.

No. For one I find it extremely boring to sit in the lobby and wait for a que in ranked or unranked by myself knowing I could likely be fighting a premade group. And no I’m not complaining about premades, I’m okay with them I just don’t fancy the idea of fighting them when I qued alone. Secondly I like hotjoin, it’s more fun to me. I like getting to play matches with the same people and getting a chance to chat, I like the more chill atmosphere, I like instantly being able to join. It’s just more fun to me and I don’t mind getting less reward because I enjoy it more anyways. Leave it like it is, people will play what they want to play lol.

Perhaps if those players had never gone to hot join for their first taste of PvP, they would have stuck around in PvP instead of finding it annoying and unstructured, and leaving.
there are a ton of raisins why #of players in pvp has dropped.

-very few add’l modes (still no tru tdm, gw1 RA style arena)
-very infreq balance updates
-long queues w/ resulting matches being awful.
-mmr makes playing streaky. lots of wins in a row, then lots of losses in a row.
chikin or the egg? bad mmr leading to bad matches leading to players getting bored/frustrated and bailing on pvp, or long queues leading to board players so fewer people queue so its harder for mmr to give good matchups.

i don’t thank people disagree totally that it was bugged. its more a frustration w/ the dh skills/utilities/etc (and guard frustrations w/ base specs). people continue to feel other classes get improvements while litle hapens to address the concerns for this class

But guild wars is just a new fresh game with plenty of opportunities a great community a great dev team and i have high hopes for Anet and its future implements whether its guild wars or another MMO.

After every single BWE they had a big list of changes based on feedback on every specialization that was available.
Some specializations will have had three itterations before launch, others only one. Can’t see in what possible universe it would be fair that:
Profession A has had a test, feedback, change, test of change, feedback, change, test of change, feedback, change.
And profession B had test, feedback, change.Gee i wonder which profession is probably more polished.

1) replace tomes instead of transmutation charges
2) Black lion keys should go with reward track repeatable once for week (like personal level 10) and not one shot.
