with all the threads about nerfs here and everyone being upset, you’d think something like this would get more attention… it’s not upping the dmg on most of our weapons like it is suppose to, that seems pretty bad bug
https://youtu.be/Gb4eZ7Z5yk8?t=15s
your post made me think of this
i assumed it was going to apply to all weapons. if not, theres a bug, either in the tool tips or that it isn’t applying to all weapons under the right conditions
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

I agree completely… They should have never packaged the core game with the expansion for one price like this. The expansion should cost $20-30. They could have created a package for $50 that includes both for newcomers instead of forcing those of us who have had the core game for whatever amount of time to pay an exorbitant price for an ‘expansion’.
At the current price points, I will not be pre-purchasing or purchasing period for that matter. Business/marketing practices like these are just ludicrous.
but then the core game wouldn’t be free for newcomers. bigger population is better for everyone
1 price to rule them all. we just got LOTR’d. anet = Sauron
This trait is described as a 10% damage boost while under retal.
It is applying a damage mod to sword/spear, much like powerful blades did.
r u saying it is only applying it to sword/spear, and no other weapons?
it sort of reps how anet feels aboot guards, just a joke, and we should be mocked/laughed at.
admittedly tho… that is pretty funny
up up down down left right left right B A start
have u tried the various option settings for ground targeting? casts were mouse is, click n release, something like that. think there are 3 options
people be talking about here.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Guild-Halls-for-small-guilds-1/first#post5193990
small guild ~15 people.
it was in the live stream. a small guild is ~15 players, anything smaller isn’t worth anet’s time.
http://dulfy.net/2015/06/17/gw2-e3-guild-hall-livestream-notes/
you, me, and the rest of us <15 are going to have to find big guilds or just accept we don’t get this content.
alternatively, if there had been alliances, we may have had a chance
I don’t really know what they are doing but match making is horrid last 2 weeks, I am wondering why i even bother try pvp anymore. It’s a joke.
agreed. terrible matchups. played the same team of 3 (w/ 2 soloq mix w/ them) in 2 matches back to back on Sat. night.
thats miserable matchups
the phone keeps ringing, but no one’s answering. we should try again in about 10 mins
PvP is entertaining because there’s a 50% chance of winning. If there’s 10 players and only one winner the chance is lowered to 10%. It will feel like you’re losing again and again which will make people quit and no one would enjoy it except for the very few 1337 haxxorz players that are experienced enough.
agreed, just like the southsun survival activity (and the related end of beta hunger games event) everyone hated that right?
right right
taxes, tariffs, can result in the price diff between countries.
also, its possible the silence is because anet has to ask their ncsoft overlords for permission to address it. it was the ncsoft forecast that we started to guess the release date
almost anything is better than the current “options”.
i wouldn’t say this is the best thing, but its much better than we have. so yey
……
One of the things it’ll be most useful for is obtaining extraordinarily expensive ascended stat combinations, like the zealot’s stats. The prices for some of those recipes and such are astronomical due to the supply limit. However, being able to swap to those stats will put them in line with any other type of ascended gear. In general, all the tradeable recipes will have their prices normalized to each other, which is good for people who have not been able to get ascended stuff due to the price barrier.
yep keeper’s gear. this was the 1st thing that came to my mind.
interesting. makes it possible for people to craft say… Keeper’s gear w/o the recipes because… those recipes do not exist for all intent and purpose at this point
sounds like a small guild to anet is ~15 people, anything smaller is not worth anet’s support
alliances used to help w/ small guilds, cause you could have several small guilds allianced and ask for help for something like this from your alliance.
multi-guild chat doesn’t solve this. just because i’m in guild A, when i ask guild B for help with guild A, they have less reason to help, they aren’t friends/connected with everyone in guild A like i am, to guild B, why not just stick with guild B and not worry about doing the events with guild A
small guild here too. just join up w/ me and my 3-6 friends. together we’ll be like… 20 people.
i agree. good idea. pm me whenever
no answer yet, may be a blog on friday about it. they have a schedule for the rest of the week on the main site
yeah no mounts. in the blog about frog people i think it mentioned that some of them are mounted, but it isn’t really mounted
according to wiki
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Focused_Mind
i guess its been there. altho u can hope dat the new wording doesn’t mean allies and not self, altho w/ the nerfs round dez parts, i wouldn’t be surprised…
Please remove the 1 icd on Amplified Wrath and Might of the Protector. Both currently punish skillful play.
nerfs are going to happen. and its ok to be frustrated about it, and let the devs know that its not a fair nerf, if u think so
but i think the bigger issue is the lack of overall options within traits. thats not a nerf, its just poor class design/options, and i think theres more chances (>0.00%) of them at least addressing it in some way than chances of them going back on a nerf (<0.00%) that they made for some reason they think is justified (be it or not)
will they actually appear to care, prob not, but i think we sound less of “QQ u nerf me” with the traits complaint than the nerf complaint
dats jus mee tho…
nerfs to icd aside, what needs to change are the overall feel for each of the trait lines. right now, each line shoe horns you into a play style. if u take X line, you better take X weapon, because using weapon Y results in no trait synergy.
at least to some extent, i should be able to say, like this trait line, but i want to play it as a dps. problem is a full set of adepts/masters/gm are only support traits. so now i can’t play the way i wanted because all 3 adepts (or masters or gms) are support related and don’t help my dps spec at all
edited to clarify what i was getting at w/ ‘set of traits’
(edited by Jaxom.7310)
exchange rates, taxes, tariffs. its more complicated than saying it should be 100 USD in every country. pretty much every product sold internationally does this
For the watch…
lots of good suggestions buried in the guard forums about how to fix shield. they come up and are re hashed from time to time ,but the end suggestions are usu the same
Why? Because it makes too much sense.
u beat me 2 it…
i agree, i think most traits in most of the lines are pretty meh
edit. master’s, i’ll agree in that i think the trait options are limiting. you can’t take a line and play it as a support or a dps. its either a support line or dps.
(edited by Jaxom.7310)
u know, in some ways honor could be a crit line
Vigorous Precision 10 Gain vigor when you deliver a critical hit.
Empowering Might 1 You and nearby allies gain might when you land a critical hit.
just a lot of other trash that isn’t going to help you crit
Hopefully you can do more than dress up in the new guild halls, else the CDI will have been all for nothing.
all for nothing? i think not sir.
my dad could tots beat up your dad, anet!
Just work with what we have got. thats what we have to do anyway. and the “tourch” traid is also good for non tourch skills.
you can have so nice synergys with on block and on aegis end. i know thats not everything, but at least something to start of.
i also think that 20% more dmg in our symbols is not the best, but after some weeks we can see how good it realy is
to get +20% dmg w/ symbols your enemy has to stand in that symbol. have u ever seen someone stand in a guard symbol? i haven’t.
Hello Guardian,
you can use 2 Weapon Sets. And why Honor no? Empowering Might without ICD? Here some calc form that_shaman trait line thingy. just look at it and see how nice we can zerk things down. #synergyisstrong
empowering might likely has a icd, it has one now, they prob just left it out of the notes. and even if it doesn’t have icd, look closely at those adept traits (awful) and even the gm ones aren’t something to write home about for many builds
i honestly expected to open this thread and ur post to say only:
“NOT”
2/10 stars – would not buy again
So… I’m generally not too concerned with the changes coming in for guards… but I am a bit confused about the Honor line. Pure of Voice is pretty awesome here and the other traits are pretty decent.
What I don’t get are the Adept traits…
- Invigorated Bulwark: Gain increased healing power, each worth up to 50 attribute points (based on effective level) for a period of time each time you block an attack while wielding a mace. Stacks up to 10 times. Mace abilities have 20% reduced recharge.
- Protective Reviver: Activate a shield of absorption when you begin reviving an ally (24 second internal cooldown). Upon successful revival, you and each ally gain aegis, protection , and regeneration for 10 seconds.
- Protector’s Impact: Create a symbol of protection when you take falling damage. You take 50% less damage when falling.
I don’t usually plate with mace nor do I block often, but I do love me some shout increases, Selfless Daring, and some Staff fun…. but if I am being forced to take an adept trait… I see the following problems:
- Invigorated Bulwark – I don’t use a mace often… and most of the benefits are really “meh”
- Protective Reviver – I’ve never even traited this. It might be good for SPvP I hear, but why would I use this in PvE or anything? I don’t want to randomly knockback mobs from an AOE cluster when I’m trying to rez a teammate real quick. I also don’t want to randomly knockback a boss when we’re all stacking and I’m rezzing… I mean I guess with HoT coming out there might be some use for this as combat is supposedly more “movement based”.
- Protector’s Impact – Good for JPs and running away in WvW I guess?
So it pretty much feels like a wasted Adept trait choice? Am I wrong?
yes, those traits are trash. welcome to the guard forums. might i interest u in another thread?
indeed. anet did not care for our suggestions
God I hope so but Anet is oblivious to the uselessness of some traits so I bet they just forgot to list it because it’s not changing.
This ^.
There are still allot of fall damage traits across all the classes that I doubt anyone would ever take.
Not to mention guardians have 3-4 other traits that are just worthless compared to other options they have.
So I’m betting its just a typo.
for sure, def a typo
indeed, reading thru guard notes… was just, ridic. i usu don’t get on the, anet don’t care boot me wagon, but… this was pretty much a slap to the face
could also say they are leaving guard for last so that everyone will be tired enough of the stream and they can just do a quick 5 min talk about guards
So basically we’ve just come full circle to: “my being able to have the option to kitten around is greater than solo queuers right to a fair match up. YOU DONT DECIDE WHATS FUN. STOP PERSECUTING ME!!!” Aaaaand repeat. Real genius here folks. No wonder Anet’s catering to that crowd and pvp is absolutely booming as a result.
So basically we’ve just come full circle to: “The fact that I can’t queue solo and enjoy my time playing PvP means nobody else should queue grouped and enjoy PvP, by my own self-stacked moral high ground” You see how this goes both ways? Nice semantics, making me look like a redneck fighting for his gun rights haha.
indeed, griefers, spammers, dueling already exists via custom arenas, everyone only plays gw2 because there is no dueling, everything would be balanced for 1v1, it’d be just like wow, duelers are toxic, it could be bugged and right now gw2 has no bugs, i don’t want anet to dev features i wouldn’t play only features that matter to me forget youse guys
did i miss anything?
You know, it’s ok it’s to play alone. You deserve to be catered to as well. Listening to some people here on the forums, you’d think that we solo players don’t deserve a good game experience.
You’ll hear them say “Well, if it’s an MMO. Play in a team!”. To hell with that.
i never thought i’d agree w/ bhagwad… clearly the impossible can happen…
which means theres even a chance solo players will have a place in pvp again someday
reminds me of the deep wound condition in gw1
Well diff things interact with bleeds vs burn (dmg mods) and bleeds tend to last a lot longer (~4-14 sec vs burn ~1-6 sec. )
Edit are we also certain we will be able to stack intensity our OWN burns? or is it just others? so if i cast two burns will it just go up in duration and then someone else casts a burn which makes it go up in damage? Or if i cast two burns it goes up in damage?
i was wonder this 2
1 thing to verify, cause i might have mis read it
if i have 0 condition dmg stats, and u have 2100.
i apply 2 stacks of bleed, ( i dunno real numbrs so) and pretend my dmg is like 100/sec
u apply 3 stacks of bleed, pretend ur dmg is like 500/sec
the baddie now has 5 stacks of bleed, after my 2 stacks go thru, are your 3 stacks now starting to dmg?
related but not the same question:
when theres like 500 stacks, and i get in at 501, do i do no dmg until those 500 go out and then mine is up?
nope
/15characters
i think anet is looking to ensure the rev makes sense w/ the rest of the classes.
therefore, rev wouldn’t fit in if it wasn’t messy
i’ve said this before about adding new game modes, ie arenas to their own queue
some don’t want to separate queues, because it could split an already small pvp player base into two smaller groups. also, there are complaints that it would screw up balancing the current conquest setup.
1. just implement it, don’t worry about balance, let people play what they want to play.
2. if people like it, it could bring in more players – which is what everyone would like. the top players are going to play where more players are
2.1 could have more (new) top players, the top deathmatch, top conquest, etc
3. if everyone moves to it and it becomes more popular than conquest , then maybe conquest was the wrong system to be the primary focus of pvp.
4. profit
