indeed, the 2-3 min RA matches, i did that hour after hour back then, now… i do about 3-4 matches (usu vs premades or w/ trash) in an hour (those queue times…)
after that hour i’m so down i just log out
in RA, even if i had 5 trash matches in a row, that prob only took boot 20 mins, and if on the 6th i got a good team, we got to keep the streak alive
o dem gud ol days
i dare to dream for gw1 RA
anet looked at it, and liked the powa, so they put it live for all to enjoy the powa
Guess what smite procs a lot of? You guessed it. VoJ burns.
…. Last time I check, enemies like to move around. ….
at least in hotjoin
1. no queue wait
2. usu i can solo and expect to be only playing other solo-ers
3. mmr isn’t at play, so sometimes i play goods, sometimes i roll bads, at least i don’t get stuck in a 5+ game streak of loses because i’m playing premades. i just end up feeling like i’ve wasted so much time in these cases..
4. feel like i can enjoy playing and not be kitten by #1 – 3
theres plenty to complain about the snow ball effect that hotjoin has, but people already posted their suggestions on how to fix that
i’ll agree that most focus skins are very uninspired, in that most look like they took a crescent shape, added a bar between tips, and then added some “flair”.
at least this one is unique. they could make a focus look like a sword, or a dagger, or pretty much anything they wanted, which some of them are, and those are kewl. they just need to do it more often
u should update the wiki, that’d be honorable, daniel-san
It might be possible to create an integer overflow with this bug:

i like it! someone make it happen
It should be really good if they could add a queue system for custom arenas too.
Or a 1vs1 place in the new HOTM with a ticket/queue system (maybe like pavillon style for example, multiple arenas with little loS elements (like pillars on nifhelm) and king of the hill system with a limit timer). With a final reward for a x winining streak + external npc with sings the legend of the last winning streak player (or a written record). Honestly it would be amazing
Something like that. I believe in Anet fantasy.
but this sounds like fun… and then everyone would do this instead of queueing.. split player base… yada yada yada
I believe they should get taunt as well. Either as part of a new utility skill or have it added onto an existing one, such as “Save Yourselves!”
This but rename the shout “fly you fools”.
only if they bring back staff “you shall not pass”
I believe they should get taunt as well. Either as part of a new utility skill or have it added onto an existing one, such as “Save Yourselves!”
i’ll agree w/ this suggestion. it would make sense here
welcome to gw2 pvp, it sounds like u basically get it all.
to make it more useful a stat, they need to reduce the base heals, and incr the coeffs
that way its more worthwhile for someone to invest in it.
But then you have the problem of self heals being worthless and requiring investment into HP or depending on a healer. There is PvP/wvw taken into consideration.
i don’t think they should be worthless, but not so useful that the heal pow stat is worthless.
right now, would you say taking toughness as a stat could be useful? depending on how u want to play, u could survive w/ the base toughness, but u will be…tougher if u have added toughness stats. but if u have a significant amnt of stats in heal pow right now, u just wasted those points in most cases because it doesn’t help your base heal enough.
just needs to be adjusted and made more worthwhile to actually use the heal pow stat
to make it more useful a stat, they need to reduce the base heals, and incr the coeffs
that way its more worthwhile for someone to invest in it.
I can’t really understand why anybody would defend a system where a low level toon has more power than a decked out in ascended gear 80. I know I throw the word fanboy around a lot but this is the pinnacle of fanboyism.
from your comment, dinks is a good name for you. less qq, more pewpew. if you are struggling more, then your build might need work, theres places to look for help w/ that. if u just miss 1 shotting mobs, then we have diff opinions on fun. i never enjoyed how easy it was too roll thru lowbie zones when thats where new content was being released (ls stuff). altho, i haven’t had any probs w/ the new scaling either so, i’d say its prob your build
plus u should have more experience in game w/ ur character than the low lvl player, so your skill should be > than theirs, giving you another edge in the fights.
I think its a great trait, but the cool down needs a serious look. Cool down needs to go up to 90 seconds to be on par with time warp in cool down time/second of quickness. 30 seconds is waaaay too short.
time warp also slows enemies, giving it something this skill does not. we should remove that from time warp, to be on par w/ this for effects/skills used
4. plenty of things to complain about, i think first page of threads sums it up well
but what if we could gather… and compound those round off errors. say in a bank of sorts. it’ll be so small and incremental, no one would ever even notice… then one day
I have to concur with the majority here… I have a small guild that I brought over from GW1, consisting of friends and family. In total we’re about 6 people. But it’s extremely rare to have more than two of us online at the same time. I’ve tried ‘grouping’ with strangers to accomplish something -such as a Fractal mission- and it’s almost always been a disaster. So no, I’m not thrilled with the idea of being forced into ‘alliances’. Yes, I’ve occasionally been lucky and come across some truly helpful individuals, but we’re talking maybe a 2% success rate. The other 98% has been horrible. NOT GOOD ODDS. Am I willing to jump in and help other small groups do their guild hall mission in return for reverse help? Of course. Do I have much faith that this will actually happen? Nope.
i agree… except i think alliances would be a useful addition. did you not like alliances in gw1? i thought of them as my friends’ friends. when there was a mish i didnt’ have enough guildies for, i could just switch to alliance chat and see if anyone was up for it, and the opposite would occur.
felt like an extended social group. i have my friends here, but i’m sorta friend w/ all these other kids in class and they might want to do stuff w/ me at times.
right now in gw2, its like, i have my friends right here, and then if i need more help i need to find some strangers from out of the blue that may or may not help
My concern with alliances has to do with guild size in GW2.
In GW1 a guild was allowed 100 members, an alliance was allowed 10 guilds, for a max of 1000 people. Some of the alliances and their “sisters” got amazingly out of hand.
In GW2, max size is 500. What would an alliance cap at? Even if we went half the number of GW1, we’re still talking a potential for 2500 people. At what point do we just become a nameless faceless mob?
i mean, you aren’t wrong, i just never played in or around those large of groups, so i didn’t realize its effects. my alliances were about 4 guilds most with < 10 active players simultaneously, one of the guilds was like a 40 man guild, and they were like the “go to” for knowledge and stuff guild from the alliance. so it was a fun exp for me
We could use slow and ressistance. Taunt is for shield yes. Buuuuut we are in a good spot so don’t expect to get some love for new stuff.
this guy knows.
also we had slow on hammer, people QQ we need to keep it w/ chill, and that was the 1 time a dev listened, so we lost out on slow.
resistance isn’t suppose to be accessible everywhere, and since we don’t see it yet or w/ dragonhunter we’ve seen so far, i wouldn’t count on it. its on rev tho
taunt, well i just don’t think it’ll happen.
Yea they listened and moved it from good spot in valor into stupid spot in virtues. Now noone use it because condi removal is way better than this.
100% agreement that most trait options (choosing from 1,2,3 in a tier) is pretty terrible. at least where they have the different “choices”.
i’’m all for forcing a choice between traits, but i think overall our traits could be arranged better
i mean, u got wvw and guild missions and soon guild arenas. that’ll have to do for now.
altho alliances, theres a thought!

i always thought down scaling should make lvl 80s weaker than they had been and 80s shouldn’t be able to 1 shot everything.
it helps keep the rest of the world worth having events occur in. i like the direction they’ve taken it
I’d much rather:
…(The last time I paid more than 15$ for a game was when I bought GW2 collectors edition 3 years ago) .you are not the customer anet deserves, but you are the one it has right now
I would imagine I’m in one of the larger portions of the customer base, I occasionally buy gems and I’m willing to buy the expansion, just for what I consider to be market value/price.
this may help you, it helped me
I’d much rather:

Why not add 3 seconds of Resistance on activation?
Could be done with HoT. Though if it may make RF too strong?
its only a 2 sec skill on 72 cd, but people qq about how guards have too many invulnerable skills. add resistance and the following nerf to guards would make it a 2 sec cast, 1 sec invul, and we get knockdown after the 1 sec of invulnerablility for 3 secs.
then anet would say, on the ground dead, is a good spot for guards
if u are in game atm, then look at the combat log and see if your invul pops up before/during whatever kills u
could just be a lag type thing
For warrior at least, you need to active 2 utilities simultaneously to become “invulnerable”, which last 8 seconds and then you are vulnerable for 52 seconds…
guard
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shelter
2 sec block (condis tick away), 30 sec cd, (can think of it as 4 sec on 60 cd if u like)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Renewed_Focus
2 sec invul, 72 sec cd (traited)
gimme dat 8 secs on 52 pls
i think it u have conditions on u, they will continue to tick.
u are dying now maybe when u didn’t before because conditions are stronger than before, so they are ticking bigger/faster and taking u out
Ranger and Warrior have no “invulnerable” whatsoever.
They don’t even have block that can dish out damage while blocking.
The only 2 classes that can do that are Guardian and Mesmer.
What are you smoking? You’re not making any sense. For damage mitigation, Mesmer and Guardian do this the best with most form of complete invulnerable.
thinking he means theses

From Colin Johanson:
Lord.4270:
Hi,
We are a guild of 3 guys . We love WWW.
With Guild halls , we will have to do guild missions.
So why we have to do puzzle jump and things like this , when in this game we just love killing people on the battlefield !
Why can t we play as we want .. ??ColinJohanson:
HoT will include a solution for this for both guilds that are WvW, and PvP oriented that want to build and expand their Guild Halls and need the favor generated by guild missions. Same goes for guilds that have a mix of players interested in all three. More info down the road a bit on how this will work once we’ve got it a little more solid on our end.
Edited to add: Everyone will have to do the actual mission to capture the guild hall once per hall though no matter what. If your group online is too small, you’ll need to invite friends (or pay/beg/sing-songs-to-woo peeps in Lion’s Arch!) to come with you and help you claim the guild hall to own one. Or you could always grow your guildIn other words
“If you aren’t at least 15 people, you aren’t a guild”
RIP – SSW
Founded June 1st 2006Is asking for help so terrible?
Some of us prefer to do things ourselves, with people we know and trust. Isn’t that the whole point of a guild? Not all guilds are a dozen+ people, nor do they desire to be necessarily. (I have actually grown my guild up to roughly 30 people twice previously, but that’s beside the point).
Its not even about asking for help, though. It’s about setting the precedent as to what a “guild” is or is not. If anet sets this arbitrary number at 10 or 15, then what is Destiny’s Edge? The lore has set forth that with just 5 people, they are a guild. Where, if they do put forth 10+ is required, Anet is blatantly stating that you are not a guild until you are at least that big. That screws the lore. It screws the small guilds, some of which are loyal followers that transitioned their guilds from GW1 to GW2.
They never said that though, what they’ve said does imply an attitude that most guild hall activities are for larger guilds, but they’re not saying your 6-person guild isn’t a guild.
Don’t borrow offense, this is a limitation on gameplay and a realization that most of their functionality doesn’t matter to smaller guilds.
If you’re willing to scuttle a 10 year old (almost) build because you’re piqued over a perceived conceptualization of guilds that you don’t like, you can’t really love the guild that much.
No, they are just implying it. That really doesn’t make it better. I guess I’m not surprised, they essentially told small guilds to gfto when they introduced guild missions. We should have taken the hint that we were no longer wanted at that point.
Its not about loving, or not loving our guild. It’s that we’re being told we’re not good enough, despite loving our guild. We’re being told that being small is not acceptable. Based on comments made, its starting to feel like unless we are ‘x’ size (number still not finalized) we are not considered guilds.
+1
sure no prob. just let the dust settle on builds for a couple weeks.
an anet guy said they are seeing some things like conditions and some builds doing too much damage, so they are prob going to make some more changes soon.
in the meantime something like the posted one will be fine. try to stick w/ it, gw2 is a great game, and guards are fun to play
there are a lot of builds stickied at the top.
go to metabattle.com (maybe .net) (i think .com)
thats the place for gw2 builds.
also since yesterday dropped a whole new slew of traits and such, all builds are in the air and not really a solid this is best answer.
which is prob why no one really answered, because there isn’t a good answer right now.
try not to get so sore, maybe you lift too much
I think that there are too many traits benefitting symbols too, and too few weapons that could benefit from it. Maybe is intentional, but i’ d rather have a symbol skill on an 1hander or maybe not having 2 minors that enhance symbols when there is already another trait for increased damage while on it :P
there is mace… but i too would like to pretend it doesn’t exist at times
pics or gtfo!
/15characters
i think its 3.0
I think i beat up dat witch 2x
I hope they allow non guild members to join the group to fight enemies for your guild hall so you can at least get help for it, and if theres loot rewards as well that would give them inventive to help other guilds.
They will. Later in the same thread as the above quote from Colin, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/HELP-We-don-t-want-guild-mission/first#post5202966
“And no – you don’t need people to be in your guild to help you capture it. Bring friendly guilds to help you out, ask nicely in Lion’s Arch, etc.”
if only there were a way for like minded guilds to unite, some kind of alliance of guilds.
now theres an idea. we could just call them Alliances. genius…
u an’ ur logical ideas… gtfo! don’t u kno where u are?
perhpas make these suggestions in the engi forums, they’ll be more likely to be seen/thought on
anet don’t come to our sub but to see what we like, and nerf it, what we don’t, and ignore it.
so u should all be ashamed for letting anet know you are enjoying some new builds
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Things-we-know/first
while guard may not be op compared to other builds, u can bet we’ll be 1st on the chopping block
yes there is imbalance in downed skills
Did Empowering Might keep its ICD compared to the patch notes?
haven’t tested, but in the live stream from… last week? grouch mentioned that while it isn’t listed, it still has an ICD, unless he mis spoke
guessing you haven’t had a fight w/ ele or engi yet.
i think it heals for wahtever ur healing power is
just another example of anet’s NOTs for guards. Nerfs Over Time…
a little more and we’ll be downed
…. Retribution granting 10% whil retal is active is a mild compromise that we received for the +10% crit chance we received via Radiant Power.
…
.
maybe test this one more. guy in the other thread is saying it appears to only be applying to sword n spear, and not even under retal. that its that old trait in new clothing
