Solution: Don’t drop siege in a place where it can be targeted from outside an objective.
Which right now means, don’t drop siege at all ?
Not at all.
There are at LEAST 7 un-targetable spots in each tower and more in keeps.
If they cannot target, they cannot use Dragons Tooth. Amd aoe is simply a matter of adjustment. Try mid-steps.
Stand outside your tower to determine best placement. If you can’t click on it, neither can they.

Easiest way to get a mesmer is use another mesmer to moa him. A good mesmer will also know all the hiding spots to check.
Or count to 60 and that’s when all mesmer stealth skills time out.
It’s not impossible, and I actually cheer on map when we encounter a good mesmer — there’s a massive difference between the ones that spam skills and actually know their class. I’m not sure it’s fair to penalize someone who’s honed and learned his craft though? I laud it.
But they still die in our searches, lol.
P.S. you still didn’t say your server. The offer stands though if you’re in EU.

Don’t know what to tell you. We don’t have these problems.
What server are you on. If we are matched, be glad to play hide to help train.
Like the poster above suggested, sometimes it’s just a learning process. If I’m struggling with a particular class in WvW, I make that class and learn its strengths and weaknesses.
I am a mesmer.
I enjoy chasing down the the opposition in keep etc.
I disagree it is a major problem in WvW.
The big groups move on and don’t check.
Because they can’t be bothered – not a balance issue.
I lost count of how many times 20+ ppl had to take more than 15 min to finally get mesmers out of a keep or SM and many involved were definitely not idiots or bad players. It’s simply too easy for a good mesmer to escape with the tool he has and it is annoying as kitten.
Wow. We only usually have five max who stay behind in any structure — and we find them.
You do know that any channeling skill will keep hitting them even if they stealth right?
since when wvw players care about reward? that is so pve……
Lol was about to say…
… Hear that thunder of 1,000 hooves?! It’s pvers flocking to WVW to complain, ktrain and get the new shinies … Then trample off never to return once attained.
I’m actually impressed when I find a talented mesmer. We had one in NWT last night from Viz and he was really really good.
Sadly, we were better.
And took the time to find him.
Sounds a little too ArchAge-y for me.
Saw some folks using siege in brand new out-of-the way places around home borderland spawn last night when I went onto map for the first time really since the last patch.
I’m ok with siege that can be countered, even if it’s in invulnerable spots — it’s cheesy, but at least you can take it down with counter siege. There are options. I know a lot of people don’t even tolerate that and are upset by it.
However, I witnessed some placements last night that were impossible to counter. Since the last patch and the invulnerable zone around spawn was reduced a great deal, players are finding all kinds of creative “cheat” areas. Having no way to counter these new placements, because of the adjustment in the area since last patch, kind of makes them unfair, and I see them as an exploit.
Can I recommend changing that invulnerable zone back the way it was? People are abusing the new areas at the moment.
Thread in WvW about it too: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Fix-the-spawn-seige-exploit-now/first#post5437011
None of the spots I saw last night are in this above thread. They’re worse. But I don’t want to share them so they get exploited.
There’s a reason why the lower tier servers wanted a minimal xfer fee.
I’m actually hoping that you’ve found something new and cool now
You do not need line of sight to click on something when you can zoom out 300% extra and see over the wall. This is a pretty ridiculous statement to make; this whole thread was about arrow carts and zoom hacking. The only limitation the targeting something is you need to be within 3000 units of it; that it.
I know you think you’re absolutely, undeniably right about this, but you’re wrong. Even with idiots using zoom hacks, there are still a ton of viable placements that cannot be targeted from outside, regardless of hack or just extended FOV, you just have to experiment to find them.
I know you want to stuff your fingers in your ears and say “NONONONONONO!” but please go and try. For every tower and keep there are at least 7 untouchable spots. It’s up to you to learn/find them.
You can target something without line of sight. This is a very easy thing to test.
- Target something, then call target on it. (Control+T)
- Then, walk out of line of sight of it.
- If you then acquire your target, regardless of line of site you will get target.
Please re-read what you wrote and see if you can pick out where you went wrong there
In your own words, too.
Edited to add: Skepticism is good. A fellow player kept telling me something was impossible when I was testing out the new placements, and it just made me work harder, and made it gratifying when it worked. He and his wife spent endless hours with me testing, I adore them both. He was my Princess Bride INCONCIEVABLE! guy.

If you place it next to the wall and use the window over the gate to hit them, they can’t target and dragon tooth you.
Best way to test out any AC is to stand out side the tower. If you can click on it from outside, then the enemy can do that too.
I think you failed to understand what the problem is. Dragon’s Tooth has no line of sight check. This means that if you place and Arrow Cart within 900 range of the place the enemy can stand, they can destroy it with Dragon’s Tooth. Just because somebody can’t see it through legitimate means doesn’t mean there aren’t people that can’t see it using zoom hacks or large field of view “adjustments”.
In fact, it only takes one person with this “special sight” to be in a group of “legitimate” elementalist and they merely have to just call target on the Arrow Carts and let the Dragons Tooth do the work.
Dragons tooth requires a click target to work. If you cannot click on the siege, you cannot use it. And there are plenty of spots to drop an AC inside a tower or keep to do so.
I think you failed to understand placement. Go experiment. I’ve tested and found the spots.
Usually indicative of your HP being dangerously low.
Red around the edges?

WvW is just bad.
2+ years and players can’t figure the imbalances out? Please.
I mean, seriously…. TWO kitten"N YEARS and we can’t get it right? Really?
Fixed that for you.
See the right corner near the gate by your character on screen? Drop an AC on the ground there and use the window over the top of the gate to nuke them.
Also, lol, lovely chat window. Yipes.
I have still not seen hackers this week, none from UW, and have not heard any rumors about BT hackers either anymore. We may end up against BT again after reset, so then we will see if the hackers simply want to avoid tier 8 or have truely left.
Really hoping that’s the case and that Anet found a solution finally. What was happening in your tier was pretty bad.
I had a Newf roommate in college. I am fully trained.
We had a dozen Jade Sea tonight. Coulda used ya.

Dear Canadians,
I have advised Piken’s night crew of your arrival.
They are preparing the screech and have a cod waiting. (This joke is only good if you are, or have, Newfie friends).
Actually most are quite excited. Cod or not.
Oh but Michel, I will give you the secret Ottawa beaver tails recipe!
/nod nod ….
C’mon, we can bond in our misery of playdough head leader.
Naw Gromit has a point. If you engage in a fight and decide, oh crud, I’m losing, time to press B and exit map — well it’s kind of silly. And lame.
Free accounts can only access Eotm would probably be the best in my opinion.
Actually that’s a great idea. In order to play WvW, you have to buy. Great incentive.
I’m skeptical. Having witnessed some pretty bizarre behaviour by players to game the system for (trolling, personal gain, pride, just being an @ sshat), I suspect this will cause a lot of issues.
Making a base level to enter WvW will at least deter some of the lazier players. It won’t stop it, but it will provide a bit of a speed bump.
They’re talking about people pressing B to exit the map and avoid dying. Not Alt + F4.
ANOTHER BONUS: EU is terrified of Canadians.
It’s TRUE!
We think they are sad for playing on EU servers, if that’s terrified then yeah.
Anti-Canadian sentiment detected!
Prepare to launch the angry beavers!
ZUT ALORS OUAI!!!
Nous pouvons speaker le franglais of our people!
Also EU is SUPER terrified of the French variety of Canadians (I suspect it’s because of that Charest fellow — and we have quite a few french folks on the server).
Justin Beiber here. Am I qualified?
I thought we exported you down south?
Actually, come to think of it, if you have that OP spell — you get hit and 10,000 screaming girl-fans pop out of the woodwork and pummel the enemy into the ground with excessive demands for clothes, makeup and Belieber CDs; we may have a deal.
Fun has everything to do with it. This is a game. Not a job. Or a duty. A game. And people play games for fun.
.If you don’t find it fun, here’s a novel idea: Don’t do it!
But don’t complain if your objectives flip either.
It really is your choice.
Here, I’ll give you a real-world analogy: If you don’t lock your car when you leave it, you are at risk of having it stolen. Is locking your car any fun? Well, not really. But do you value your car, is it important for you and your overall “fun”… well yes.
What you’re doing is complaining about having to lock your car. Thieves should just be nice and not touch if because it’s too much of a hassle to lock it.
The correct analogy would be having to sit in your car despite having locked it, then putting on a blindfold and ear muffs, and if a thief breaks in he brings 20 friends who persuade you to hand over the keys. The tower or keep has gates, they are locked.
What’s being complained about is despite locking the car and spending time looking around the area, the thief was in the car all along and you couldn’t find them, or if you did you didn’t bring enough people to remove him, and he stole your car.
Having to use 10-15 people to sweep isn’t fun, and in less populated servers that’s three times the amount of people you have anyway.
After a while, rather than spend 20 minutes not finding the stealthed mesmer out of your hour of gaming time, people would rather do something they find even vaguelt rewarding, like, for instance, fighting other players.
Not everyone plays wvw 24/7 and thinks nothing of hunting mesmers for 2-3 hours at a time.
Any time I struggle with countering a class in WvW, I create that class, learn its weaknesses and strengths, then drive a stake into their little hearts. Stealth classes are counterable.
Please no EZ mode. If I can do it, so can you!
We even do it while outmanned. You’re SFR right? You have the most players 24/7 of all servers, lol. Sounds like too many are lazy.
or, I hate to say it, it’s a L2P issue.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
They basically fixed that you can’t shoot through walls anymore, but have to next adjust how far the LOS should be (the inner siege killers with an outer ac) for next patch. It’s a two-part fix.
Fun has everything to do with it. This is a game. Not a job. Or a duty. A game. And people play games for fun.

Not PST naw. That’s dead of night for EU. But EST is still quite busy.
To each his own. I find it fun. Like playing hide and seek. Both ways — not just hiding, but also finding.
I’m also not lazy. If our team needs to keep an objective, I will go out of my way to help maintain it. Mind you, I’m not a big fan of blobbing/ktrains, so I don’t feel like I’m “missing out” when I take the time to do this.
Well drat. I was hoping to test it out
Stealth isn’t the problem since last patch, lol.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/clones-rally-people
Well boo.
No big, it was a superficial request anyhow.
Would just make it easier if it had a sort function.
Ah well.
Ah you’re seeing PVD on Gandara? When’s the last time you played? Oh wait, maybe as PST yeah there might be a lull, not so much for EST players.
Still looking for a dozen Canucks. C’mon and scare the crap out of EU. You know you wanna. Bring your hockey sticks and prepare to yell “car!”
I just follow them around and wave happily at them, be helpful.
A new player is glad for the help/company. A spy? Not so much.
Use them. If you see them hanging out in a particular tower or keep, and nobody’s around, that’s the next likely target. In effect, make them your scouts
ANOTHER BONUS: EU is terrified of Canadians.
It’s TRUE!
BONUS: EU glicko is so close that you`ll have a variety of matches each week instead of the same stale locked tiers in NA.
I`ll start making the poutine.
IF you hate Tims but you still buy it anyhow. Please read on.
IF you are sick of the whole Duffy affair. Please read on.
IF you think our leader has to have playdough hair. Please read on. (I mean c’mon, look at it during a particularly windy day! IT DOESN’T MOVE!)
I’m going to start playing NA time on my server on the lovely EU Piken Square. Ideally looking for people who can play 7-midnight EST. The community is solid, you’ll learn a ton, you’ll improve your game, and you’ll score (well MAYBE*, but Piken does have a rather significant female population playing WvW. And yes, we kick @ ss).
There’s already a decent night crew, but I’m looking for 12 good Canucks to join in the mayhem and decimate everyone with stale timbits and a hail of loonies. (Those timbits leave bruises if used properly).
It will only take 12.
We will wreak havoc.
And say, “I’m sorry,” a lot.
Because
YOU
ARE
CANADIAN!
Send me an in-game email.
*scoring depends on whether you have game or not. Being able to say OOT instead of OUT is not considered game. TM registered.

Ah is it pulled back so that trebs placed near NW tower are now in a non-invulnerable zone? Hilarious. Those guys are going to die
Interesting. Seems Anet has been reading the forum and cleaning up a lot.
KURU TIME FOR THE WHITE KNIGHT! chop chop
A fix that isn’t even complete yet and everyone’s kittening themselves. That shows how neglected WvW has been.
DON’T MAKE ME HUG YOU!!!!
C’mon! :p
Hope it works!
Crossing my fingers for you!
Any chance to add a sort feature for “highly rated” posts? It’d be nice to click a category on top page and sort “most recent” etc …
Not a big if it’s not possible, but I enjoy looking at what has gotten thumbs up from time to time, and sorting through 10+ pages to see that one upvote is onerus.
Again, nowhere near a priority. But if it’s an easy fix/tweak? Pretty please?
Thanks!
What? This happened universally?
Did you guys fall under the map or something?
Graphics card or ram is dying.
Any serious actions taken with effort and hard-work should be appreciated
Please yes.
We’ve had more red name posts in this thread than in any other time in recent history: primarily because people haven’t been in attack mode.
I can totally appreciate that HoT took up a huge amount of time and resources, and it’s nice to see some crucial issues being addressed.
