Yea receiving wierd long lag spikes ( some lasts 20seconds ) then at some point it seems to all catch up again and i see everything speeding up like crazy.
Im used to the “normal” zerg lag i get but this is totally different. Even happens on a desolated borderlands.
I will get what is described here off and on over a window of an hour or so. Then it will go away and come back for another hour or so. No patterns as to when it kicks in.
From my work life, this “feels” like a load balancer’s or firewall’s state table management getting bogged down then suddenly catching up. Totally subjective statement not based in data.
I am intrigued (no pun intended) by the Largos, and they would be first choice – HOWEVER, I also realize this will remove the mystery behind their culture (and therefore their allure), so I would also be the first to say anet shouldn’t make them playable.
My next choice is Tengu, but only if they’re not limited to ranged rangers (which I don’t see anet doing, given they made all races equally effective at all professions up to now).
Not really understanding why people think it is so hard to learn a class. Several times I have made a level 2 character and went into sPvP with it, and done great. I just take the time to look over weapon, skill, and talent choices. It’s pretty easy to quickly understand how a class works and put together a build that works for you.
It’s not a matter of difficulty – some classes take getting used to – ele timing took a bit to get the hang of, and the engineer bundle-swapping was a little weirder. I’ll grant you, though, my first class – thief – was extremely easy. Only thing you have to learn with melee’s is dodge timing and distance estimation for distance closers.
yeh because owning a level 80 alt without knowing how to play it is really useful
This was the argument I favored before the patch – trait-based skills come more slowly now, meaning less time than before to learn them… especially any skills from those last couple trait points.
I would say you will get better answers faster by going into the Elementalist forums.
ROFL, from the subject line, I envisioned a crate fulla clerics.
Hey Season 2 Writers, if you can hear us, we demand more Lord Faren~!
Love,
The Cult of Lord FarenPS. I’m rich, you know.
Umm, pretend this post never existed.
This is a very interesting opinion since so many seem to feel the other way. We make every effort to put the player character at the center of the story because…well…it’s your story. But, I also believe that the player character doesn’t always have to be the one with the answers. Sometimes, your teammates (Rox, Braham, etc.) need to help out or risk becoming faceless flunkies. There’s a balance point, of course. Your teammates are an extension of you, living through your story with you.
…
Trahearne abducts your personal story to the point where he takes nearly all credit at the end. It was forgettable at best despite the grand “save the world” scale of it all.
…
This one was just a bad call – still sticks in my craw (wherever that is).
I lent gold to someone (not OP) a few weeks back – saved the username in friends list and the email from them for just this purpose.
I assumed it was lost when I lent it out and I am not going to ask for it back… Keeping, though, to know not to lend to them again.
Any word from Anet? This is still happening – some folks are getting the chest, others aren’t, no obvious cause for variance.
I believe the primer only works for the first food you consume.
as i said in OP
“Necro and guardian get full usage of the primers duration even if they switch foods at any point while the timers running.”
And elementalists – re: my post above. I could switch at will.
I believe the primer only works for the first food you consume.
No – I had a Magic Find crack pipe running and ate something else (condition damage?) and it replaced the Magic Find one. Re-ate an omnomberry and it reverted back.
There’s a reason many of us who’ve been playing a year plus don’t build legendaries. We saw that frustration train coming wayyyy ahead of time.
As far as t-6 mats – that’s what my time has been devoted to lately – posting them on the TP for folks like you. You’ll know they’re mine because they’re posted 1 copper under the guy in front of me
…But be afk wifh Bad intents (Such be in mid of a event scaling it up, and doing nothing) is the worse sort of player ever.
I don’t need to play harder to other player earn the rewards. This is horrible. That why I ask for a report for bad behavior. If ppl starting get banned for 1-2 weeks for this sort of behavior, then maybe they stop doing this…
When talking about humans, “intent” is one of the hardest things to prove – if you don’t believe me, ask any lawyer or cop.
That reporting option will not work as you think it will. It will be the source of griefing and create more drama than the current observation you’ve made about AFK’ing ever has.
A better game for you. I’m not sure an expansion model would be better for Guild Wars 2. I enjoy the bi-weekly release cadence. I know you do not, but you can’t really speak for everyone when you (again) claim that an expansion model would be better for the game.
To each his/her own. =)
I have no issues with how the content gets to me (expansion or content patches), however it’s the quality of content that get my attention. I’m willing to give GW2 some slack for S1 as they were still figuring out how to do it, S2 is going to be the make or break for me at least.
THIS^ is precisely why I am kind of excited to see what LS 2 brings. If it’s shallow, rushed, and buggy content again I’ve gotta find something else. If quality ensues, I’m staying (and buying some gems to express approval for it).
…a very successful GW2 in China means more resources will be allocated to ANet …
But not necessarily to GW2 – I don’t know where that leap of logic keeps coming into all these forum posts.
I was almost going to make a Bohemian Rhapsody joke when I saw the title
Too soon after the last one
It’s confirmed. ANET officially nerfed the bloodstone. Each bag only gives 0-2 now instead of 0-8…. WHY WHY WHY? Why do you punish NEW players?
AND on top of that you don’t even document it in the patch note!
I wish I could sell mine to you.
I was thinking the same thing.
Now, does this portend un-binding them in the future? Paranoid hoarders unite!
I would have paid to have my crafting recipes and levels made account bound. I won’t pay for having 3 active crafts.
I won’t NOW (too many chars with crafting skills trained), but new players (especially future ones) are liable to.
He is the same player that made that post. He does not understand for some reason. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Am-I-the-only-one-experiencing-this/first. I remember that post because one of my highest post is in it.
Oh…wow. I’m not quite sure what to think now since this person felt the need to bring the same topic up once again 2 and a half months after the first thread they made on it (which even had the John Smith explaining it to them then).
I think we should all just back away from this thread very slowly…and then, as skritt say, “Run away!”
This is more of that “capitalism is inherently evil”-think that’s been infecting pop culture lately. All things should be done solely for altruism purposes, apparently.
They’re also useful for adding to Krait Rares (which have no suffix) so you’re not guaranteed to get another bloody Krait rare with no suffix. Call it an “entropy inducer”.
After running this event off and on probably 30 times since release and completing within the time allotted all but maybe twice, I have gotten a grand total of 1 bonus chest. Definitely a bug.
I’d love to see the option for a White list for whispers, be it your Friends list or a separate list, with the option to switch between the current system. For me, that’d be a happy medium between how it is now and a complete blackout option. There are times when people want to be social, and times when they want some quiet time to themselves. I think a White list would facilitate that.
This is so true. And a good solution.
- - with the option to turn confirmations off – I HATE 4,011 prompts confirming what I just told the system to do… redesigned WvW menu, I’m looking at you.
- - I have no opinion
Avoid buying 2 of anything.
:D

EDIT: and 20’s right out!
It looks like custom soundtracks are still unavailable on the Mac client. I tried creating relevant .m3u playlists of .mp3 files for a few categories, but none would play.
Previous posts said to place the playlist files in /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2/p_drive/User/Application Data/Guild Wars 2 in the Music folder. Upon accessing the second Guild Wars 2 folder I saw that there was no Music folder and, unsurprisingly, creating one and putting the playlists in there didn’t work.
I’ve attached a screenshot of my system report, but it seems like it’s not likely an issue I’m alone in experiencing.
That’s probably because (and I haven’t confirmed this) an external process (that’s present in the average Windows install, but not present inherently in a Cider/Wine install) is what is called by GW2 to queue up the MP3’s?
You know you can double click on a waypoint to skip the confirmation right?
True, but this has annoyed (notice I said annoyed – don’t blow this out of proportion and make it something it’s not, trolls) me since day one of the reopen of Lion’s Arch.
It’s not just about the confirmation, but the load time at LA is higher than any other single map, I think.
When the city’s rebuilt, I hope the guild bank is closer to the MF. It would certainly help those of us who enjoy flushing things down the toilet (hey, it was good enough for Bill Cosby) and keep the fodder in the GB.
This is not an example of bad design. It’s an example of a mechanic that isn’t as fine tuned as it could be.
Agreed – I saw a very similar comment made during Teq last night. Difference there was there’s a place for the GTFO’s to get… the commander said “get off that turret or it will overscale – go to the main zerg.”
Worked well.
This event just needs some alternative role for the excess.
Did anet nerf karkalandia sharks? I think that they did.
Dunno how it was in the past – the past two times I ran them (maybe over the past 4-6 weeks?) it was abysmal (no pun intended) scale drops that were a waste of time.
That’s a decent one – I am SO tempted to post a screenshot of mine as well once I get off work – though it’s much less than yours: 5-7 GPH at current TP prices.
I’m so fed up of ANET’s unclear position on farming that it’s starting to make me not care if they nerf it.
Don’t do it.
Why not? Don’t ANET want to make a good game for the players? Or do they have something higher on the priority list behind the scenes?
Because they really will nerf it if it becomes too much of a hot spot. T_T
But until then, a slew of players rush in, party up to drive the drop volume up and we win in the short term.
Although I will say it’s a classic example of my brother’s favorite saying “I’ll show YOU, F&#$ ME!”
That’s a decent one – I am SO tempted to post a screenshot of mine as well once I get off work – though it’s much less than yours: 5-7 GPH at current TP prices.

Go ahead, so we can finally play what the devs want. Disney land on rails. The funniest ride is capped at once a day. Here in Gem Stores 2 you, replace fun with rewards.
Gotta get off work to get the screenshot…
What is that in your screen cap where I drew the lines? Does it mean we get the shaft? LOL
Haha, nice one. Never saw it that way before^^
Already see people here in my zone, can’t wait till get get the shaft.
Actually, if you party, the drops get slightly better/higher volume.

To the people that way the players are doing it wrong. I stole this quote from a poster named Pifil as I thought it very relevant.
“Yep, it’s always the players fault, never ArenaNet’s for not actually communicating the change in direction or putting any effort into “retraining” the players in those changes or giving them tools to better organise themselves in the multi-lingual, multi-server mush that the megaserver system created.”
Yes. I agree that ArenaNet needs to do a better job of teaching players HOW to play these events. I even created a very long post about it. Look for the “Herding Cats” post.
That said, players share some of the responsibility. The information is there. Players are trying to explain in mapchat. The tooltips offer plenty of guidance.
This isn’t a megaserver problem as this exact problem existed with Marionette. Or the Holo-knights. Or Tequatl. Or the Three-Headed Wurm. Language barriers certainly make this more difficult, but that’s not something completely new.
Not everyone is on teamspeak, nor is it set up for these short term events where people are coming and going. The game has no voice speak set up to compensate. ANet is at fault here.
Not everyone is literate. Not everyone can read English (or whatever language you use) easily. Many, from posts I read, struggle with basic reading. These people either don’t read map chat at all or read slowly with little comprehension. You can’t expect these people to be reading your instructions in the middle of a fight.
With everyone mashed together, no one knows anyone, knows who is reliable and who is a troll.
“I don’t yell at people who are trying to help to go away. I did ask the Commander who was tagged up to tag down because he was creating a zerg. He did not. I told people to split up and attack the bosses at the same time. They did not.”
Why should you expect these people to listen to you? Some random person in the group, telling Commanders to tag down or your other instructions. They don’t know you from Adam. Don’t know if you are reliable, know what you are talking about or if you are trolling. It’s rather arrogant to be telling strangers how to do something totally different from the way it was the last time and then expecting them to obey.People are mashed together from many servers. This is a particular problem with the EU servers where not only are there multiple languages but the ability to see chat of other languages has been disabled. For example, if someone is giving instructions in English and other people have non English as the set up language then the instructions don’t even show up in their chat. How do you expect these people to follow your directions if your directions don’t even show up in chat? ANet is at fault.
People showed up for the Queens Pavillion. Was there an NPC saying, “ok here’s the new rules” or “everyone split up into 6 equal groups”? No. It doesn’t. ANet is at fault.
Your post that I quoted made no mention of any problems that ANet may have caused or acerbated. It was only expressing that it will be great once these people leave.
There are three problems (besides loot) with this event – you called out the first – communication such as teamspeak, vent, etc and language barrier; but there’s a third – overflows and less-populated servers (have you ever been on the MegaServer-assigned cluster for French-speakers? It’s a ghost town – insert surrender meme here).
For those who do not have VOIP, do this: split yourself up! if YOU see a massive zerg toward Boom-Boom, GO to a different boss! You have plenty of time, after all.
Hell, split yourself off, PICK ONE BOSS, AND NEVER FIGHT ANOTHER ONE, for that matter… for the masochists, please choose the destroyer. Doing that removes variables and will allow anyone else making a choice of bosses will naturally distribute the mini-zergs.
If enough of us do this, it will fix itself before the weekend.
(edited by KarateKid.5648)
The Queen’s Pavilion will be great once all the people who came to zerg up, mash 1, and collect tons of loot leave.
I haven’t done the Queen’s Pavilion yet. Everyone says the loot is very meager. After people have gotten the Living Story achieves what will keep them coming back and playing there? What will keep it full so that the late comers to this can also get their achieves? Are the boss fights so fun and rewarding that people are going to keep returning for that? What will be so great about it after so many have left?
Absolutely nothing.
Now let’s wait for that white knight posting that we shouldn’t play for reward. The rewards will be much better when the players doing the content are better. 45m for 2 champ bags and a green is obviously terrible. But if you can get the, what, 8 for gold? In less than 8 minutes? That’s much better.
The problem right now is that the player base is doing it wrong.
Your quote “The Queen’s Pavilion will be great once all the people who came to zerg up, mash 1, and collect tons of loot leave” is very “interesting”. You didn’t say anything about it being great if/when they learned how to play better, just it will be great when they are gone.
I guess these people will come in, get their achieves and go, leaving you and a few others in happy isolation there. Farming the champs over and over again while simultaneously patting yourself on the back for not being a member of the zerg. Not a pretty picture.
Filling in the blanks: it is entirely possible to break into mini-zergs and beat these down in a reasonable period of time. My first run last night, we killed the first two in parallel in like 5 minutes (two groups). After that, the whole crew zerged each remaing boss individually – took increasingly forever for each of the leftovers due to scaling. Had we split into mini-zergs, I venture the bosses woulda died within the Gold timeframe with a minute or so to spare.
When the 1 pushers leave, who’s going to make up those sub teams? Better idea than snarking about people leaving is to communicate to them the strategy and that the event can be rewarding (though I still argue not rewarding enough for even the smaller time investment described) so at least they see the difference.
Note: that was primarily for timmy, not Astral.
There’s bound to be other farming options out there. People just had no reason to go find them. I think Woodenpotatoes has some videos of him organizing “unpopular” farms. Maybe one of those will become the next big thing.
I believe you are 100% correct on reason – noone NEEDED to find other options… now they can. the only hard part is figuring out the order. The rest is just time investment to identify all the champs.
Yes – it’s unnecessarily WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY east over next to the mists portals – way away from the regular bank and mystic toilet just so devs can troll and make it as unnecessarily time-consuming as possible to manage loot.
^ the problem is that you have absolutely no control over the mass of players who don’t listen, who uses builds that just feels cool, who wears useless stats, who just brushes off everything the commander tells then with ’I’m playing the way I want’ or ‘you can’t order me around’.
There’s a reason why even Blizzard can’t pull off open world raids. A raid, even easy as this, needs some degree if organisation and optimisation, and you can’t get that here.
What they should have done was leave the pavilion like it was last year, but added this blitz as an instanced guild mission.
It may sound harsh, but if you aren’t in Zerker, if you aren’t running an optimised build, if you don’t want to follow orders, then please don’t join the boss blitz, it’s really not an event for you.
But the same is true of a lot of things in this game. WvW for a start. Sure you can solo a camp and if it’s undefended a small uncoordinated group can take a tower, but for anything more than that you need coordination and sensible builds. But people still manage to play WvW and succeed. Same with events like the Marionette, and Tequatl and the Triple Wurm need even more organisation, but people are able to do it.
Personally I suspect the issue isn’t that people can’t get organised but that they haven’t yet realised they need to. Anet didn’t advertise the fact that the Pavillion had changed from last year so people went in expecting a mindless zerg farm and got confused or angry when they didn’t get it.
Given time and a few people with a bit of common sense it’s really not that hard to figure out.
The reward seems to be the same no matter how many bosses you personally fought and if you get gold reward it’s more than 1 bag per champion.
I don’t know how other maps have been handling it but mine (Desolation/EU Megaserver) managed to get gold reward at least once last night by splitting into 6 groups (with 6 commanders). Each group fought 1 boss then waited in the middle so they didn’t scale up the others and they went down very quickly.
Do you remember what were the exact rewards from Gold chest ? And how long did the round last ?
I’ve tried organizing (with several other people) a map I was on, but even after three tries and a massive improvement in performance, we still failed to get even silver participation..
I’m assuming that after all of the “this is bullkitten I can’t zerg/1111” people are gone it’ll be much easier to organize a proper round, but I’d like to know if it’s worth the trouble.I wasn’t actually playing at the time, I’d surrendered the PC to my husband and was watching over his shoulder but I think it was 8 or 9 champion bags, plus gold and karma for the event reward.
All the bosses went down pretty much together, so it didn’t take long. About the same as for a small group to do one boss.
I could be wrong but I think part of the problem with trying to fight them as one big zerg is that they scale up really weirdly, so it’s actually slower with more people. But I have no idea what the ideal numbers would be.
I did ONE run of this last night and 2 of the 6 bosses went down simultaneously in ~5 or 6 minutes. The rest took much more than that EACH and were done in series.
I have no doubt 6 groups of 6-ish could complete this in “gold” time. I still don’t see the incentive for running it after one has his achievements – even with Gold rewards of a handfulla greens and some bloody bloodstone dusts.
The only good part is the conversation between Heal-O-Tron*, Braham and Rox. That’s it.
*Shouldn’t he have a new name?
Hero-tron.
t6 materials are going to drop HARD.
Time to unload some mats.
edit: Not selling mine because I believe it is better to have more mats than less mats.
Why do you think that they will drop in price? (I didn’t play during summer 2013 so I don’t know anything about upcoming patch)
The pavillion filled the market with easy t6 from the shear amount of farming happening. It actually took a bit ti stabilize afterward. I remember farming dozens of t6 claws and fangs with minimal effort.
Yah, I’m thinking that with the current state of affairs on loot stinginess, the drop rate’s going to be nerfed from space. I hope not, but am afraid that’s what’s going to happen.
But I soooo wanted to be dead wrong… sorry all
What happrns when the good guy lists his item 1c below the lowest WTS. Will you just buy from the big bad tp trader because he lists higher price?
I think some people consider anyone who undercuts by 1c to be evil by default. But it doesn’t matter, since nothing in this thread will ever be implemented by Anet or the players.
i do consider the undercutter to be unfavorable, and i find your confidence in nothing getting done laughable
Your entire thread is progressive nonsense you’re pushing as though it was an actual problem in this game economy. It’s not – it’s a problem you’re creating in your mind based upon assumptions you have about character and emotional state and intent of the sellers.
1) You have attributed in MANY posts within this thread a (fake) monetary transaction to emotions and intent: “greedy”, “evil”, etc. No-one is purposefully trying to harm anyone – the speed to sell desire derives from the need to get their capital and profit back so they can make their currency “work” again. Period. Noone is thinking “man, I can drive that unknown player into the poorhouse if I just undercut them 1c”. You and others like you aim to re-define capitalist behavior as inherently evil – real intent of the human partaking in the behavior ignored because it doesn’t fit your convenient narrative.
2) You look at each transaction as a moment-in-time vs. a continuum. This goes back to the speed to sell in point 1. Your argument is only problematic if you think each transaction is a PvP game mode – round by round. TP players are not thinking that way. We think “I spent 78 silver to buy those greens, flushed and got 1.8G worth of rares for a profit of .3 G to add to capital AND they sold in ~4 minutes vs. bogging down” or something similar. We are not thinking of other players at all – we are thinking how fast to get the money back onto the craps table (in my case).
doing what else? They removed most of the champs from the game and made the world bosses spawn at absurdly slow times with their mega server nonsense.
if by doing something else you mean playing another game… then yes I think that is what they want, they were advertising that you go play wildstar on their facebook page last week.
Actually, there are new champs added.
I’m not defending the Pavillion debacle, but for accuracy’s sake:
Harathi Hinterlands has up to three new champions added to the modnir kickoff event IF Southforge is lost. Up to three Champs (depending upon how fast you can kill them) will spawn and run to Northpasture. To the best of my recomllection, I’ve never seen those champs before the April 15th update.
What’s humorous is folks don’t look behind them when Southforge is lost.
An hour in the pavilion, no reward for my effort besides 3 greens. Head over to the only-slightly-made over Labyrinthine Cliffs to find it’s pretty much the same as last year, and all the “rewards” on offer are skins I already have… oh wait—- there’s a new mini and another useless tonic. Ugh.
As for the new Phoenix skins- yep, you guessed it, subject to RNG once more. Anet, please STOP this RNG garbage!
The ONLY thing that is an improvement is the relocation of services to Lion’s Arch.
I was so looking forward to this patch, but as it is, beyond getting the achievements, there’s no reason at all to participate.
Undoubtedly, the most disappointing patch to date, and it had such potential. FIVE thumbs down for this one.
And the locations of some services within LA are inconvenient – bank and mystic forge are relatively close, but the guild bank is a loading screen or a really long walk away. Is there a new Guild Banker Express coming to the Gem Store?
Check this post out – he may have a point…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fotfw/New-Crown-Pavilion-First-Impression/4041199
the loot in this game is already bland…. why do you guys want more of it?
they need to fix the itemization…
It doesn’t matter if this new Crown Pavillion stuff actual drops loot…. THE LOOT SUCKS. Period.
Everywhere you go its the same, you see exact the same rewards. Buncha greens/blues. the occasional yellows. And ofc tokens! to get the flavor of the month skin.
The loot in general is just absolutely abysmal and uncreative. There is no specific place to farm for anything. Everything drops everywhere… yawn….
You are already in endgame gear by lvl 80…whats the point of loot now?? oh work towards skins I guess….Can’t wait for wildstar to come out
You will reward the company that did what you rightly complain about by… giving them MORE money?
NOTHING? I fully expected a well-deserved nerf, but… NOTHING but the champ bags?
Back to farming chickens, then.
I hope they add a new champ train to another zone.
What do you mean? Almost every zone has a champ train. It’s always been mystery to me why people chose Queensdale to begin with. It’s definitely not even in the top 10 zones for fun champ trains. In Fields of Ruin you can literally be killing a champ nonstop, it’s only like 20 seconds walk at the longest to go from champ to champ.
It (Queensdale) was the first someone actually wrote up a path for. I found the same thing you did… almost every map has a potential train in it – noone looks hard enough and posts it.
Oh no – that means they’ll all come over into FGS now… there goes the neighborhood.
2) To balance/normalize travel speed between classes. It´s unfair a warrior can easily stack 1 minute of speed boost while other classes can’t.
Yes, its totally unfair that the classes aren’t all alike and can’t do everything equally. It’s just horrible. Horrible.
Realistically warriors and guardians should run the slowest since they are wearing heavy armor. The cloth-wearing scholar classes should move the fastest.
and yet… necromancer.
