Flying attack mounts! Chickens! There we go.

They are very nice looking, I would love to have many of them. Many of the weapons that have come and gone from the gambling chests are nice looking.

It’s unfortunate that so many nice skins either cost a ton of gold or a ton of real life money spent on gambling chests.

In general it will go away right before you are able to complete it.

I just want to get the kitten achievement from the golem parts. I’ve made it to the center at least 4 times and got ganked before I could get them. Jerks. And yes you are a jerk. -_-

After I get the achievement then I will settle down and try and get even.

Exactly, this is the way to experience games these days. Go to youtube. There’s your game. Why would anyone possibly want to waste their time in game for that easily youtubed stuff.

The objective is in the center of the map. Unless there is some way to get there that I haven’t found yet, you will most likely encounter enemies. Luckily, I play WvW already and enjoy it.

I understand what you are saying. However, this game just makes me angry too frequently. No other game has ever had that ability. Games should be fun, not constantly frustrating. I think it just isn’t for me. I don’t like this constant deadline. It is too much like work. I’m going to do myself a favor and give up on it.

Frankly, they could have left it as part of the daily. And if I have been unable to get the achievements done by now, I doubt two more weeks will help without having a daily for it.

I’m tired of the time limited stuff. Very annoyed that there was no daily for it today. I’m about done with it I think. And by done with it, I don’t mean completed or finished. I mean done with dealing with time limits on finishing things. Sick of it, really.

Well great. Just great. Why can’t they just tell us at the beginning how long we have. Guess this meta is out for me.

Has it been removed from the daily already or is that just a fluke for today?

When I was doing the Scarlett events (when she attacks different zones), if I waypointed I could be put into an overflow server or even if I was already in an overflow server, a different overflow sever. Has that changed?

No, clicking on the world monthly didn’t work. I can collapse the other things listed such as daily and living story but not monthly. I’ll do the just select one thing to track work around. Thanks.

Is there any way to collapse the monthly list? I thought I remembered that we could collapse the lists in the upper right but for some reason the monthly list won’t collapse.

I’ve done the two events a handful of times each. No one has talked about strats in map chat at any time. Results have varied. The best results was in an overflow where we got 4/5. Other than that, most of the time there are too few people total and/or too few people who know what to do.

I understand that people have how-to videos, diagrams, guides, etc etc etc. I do tend to research and read about things for games. I have many friends who have the attitude that they want to spend the time in game and not doing reading/research outside of game.

As for this, I have done very little research outside of the game. I started out looking at Dulfy’s guides and such but I’m tired of doing that for temporary events. I’m wasting my time that I could spend playing a game. If it was something that in the long term would be useful, then ok. For 2 weeks use or less, forget it.

I too would like to know how much time I have to complete the achievement. I’ve been completing it by doing the dailies and don’t want to unexpectedly be left with it only partly completed. Is this a two week one or a four week one?

I don’t like the precedent it sets. The item itself, I don’t care about one way or the other.

Not true. Living Story just frustrated me enough that I no longer found logging in to GW2 a fun or pleasurable experience at all. If Living Story hadn’t made me feel so stressed out and pressured all the time, I would still be logging in.

I guess it we all have different reactions to it. It’s slowly driven me away too. Mainly it seems temporary, time gated pressure, and repetitious to me. It seems to have a bad effect on me. For example, I was enjoying WvW until it had the list of tasks and achievements. Then I felt pressured, even though it was 7 weeks long and I finished the meta, I still felt pressured. After it was over I quit playing WvW for a long time. Never have gotten back into like I was before.

Oh well, I played GW1 for four years. In fact, my friends and I continued with GW1 until we felt that it was going to wind down due to GW2 being developed. This one doesn’t have the hold on me. I felt connected to the stories in GW1. Here, I feel no connection. I don’t know what the fundamental differences are that make me feel disconnected from this one. I like a lot of the mechanics of the game. I like the movement and the ability to not compete for resources and mobs and to act like a group with out being in the same party. But …something is missing that I need in a game. :/

Because lets be honest. This is the only living world update the majority of people enjoyed.

Actually, we have metrics on every LW release. While SAB was indeed successful in terms of participation, so were the other releases (Scarlet ones included). I understand that forum feedback can color perception on which releases were the most popular/best received/most enjoyed but opinions on this are largely anecdotal. Please keep that in mind.

Now to your question: will we see a return of SAB? That’s not for me to say, but if it were to come back, what would people like to see from it? Harder/easier content? New world? More/no Moto story?

Or would you like future LW releases to cover other topics? Share your thoughts, but please keep it constructive. Thanks.

I would like for it to return, I would like each world to have 3 levels of content:
Baby mode, medium mode, and super hard mode (tribulation). More Moto! I would like for them to be able to take the suggestions & comments from the second SAB and redo it addressing what people found problematic to re-release that world. I would like for them to have the opportunity to continue to release additional worlds.

I would like for the rewards to stay forever so that you can save up your tokens for a long time to get exactly what you want.

I would like for it to rotate in pretty often.

Its creative, its fun, and its a break from doing the other part of the game.

The living story cured me of being a “completionist”. I finally abandoned even trying. After I reached the point of not carrying whether I participate in, much less complete, a specific living story release, I became less stressed/annoyed about it being fast paced and mostly temporary.

Unfortunately, by missing a 3 living stories that I didn’t want to participate in due to being burned out on the ones that immediately preceded them, I have lost track of the story. That led to me not caring about the story.

I’m not complaining. I’m just stating what happened to me. Now I feel sort of disconnected from the game and have the hope that they will add something in that will reconnect me.

I need something to do that makes me feel connected to the world where I feel that I’m progressing, and that I can do at my own pace.

Kasmeer will turn into a sylvari and merge with Scarlet giving us Kasmeerlet!

Since its one of the ones I really want I’ll say:

-Sociopolitical Diversification: Player housing, Guild Halls, and Faction Alliances leading to new game play opportunities, rewards and content.

But along with the housing we need things to put in the houses and I’d really like crafting to contribute to those.

And I really want a wardrobe too!

I’ve found that with two people they are fairly easy. I run in circles and aggro the world and the other person kills them.

Edit: I get all the confusion on me and the other person does the killing.

Just sell the bags. I’m sure they are useful to first time players.

I have 10 character slots. All 8 classes at level 80. All races. 2 spare slots waiting on new races or something.

I don’t know if I missed the top 3 (was out of town a few days)

My top three would be:
1. armor and weapon skin wardrobe
2. personal housing and guild hall
3. new recipes for current crafting professions to craft appearance armor, weapons, house and guild hall items

Another suggestion is in regards to the current weapon skins in the game (as well as minis, tonics, armor skins, etc) – have the tokens to obtain them drop at a low rate throughout the game so that over time you can accumulate the skins.

Also, please put all tokens in the shared wallet or consolidate the tokens in some way. Too many tokens, tickets, and so forth gets messy over time.

I got recipes off the trading post for all the endless tonics except the golem (which I didn’t want). They all worked for me correctly.

Or, we could be patient and answer the question in a friendly manner or else just refrain from reading the request and replying at all.

If faction could be added without a grind. Make it account wide and natural to obtain. And pure fluff. I get what you are saying. It’s nice if it just adds titles, and items that are not necessary but are fun and if it is account wide and if it is natural to get, not grindy.

For example: Norn faction, you get some by just being norn, get it from mapping the norn area, from events there, from norn dungeon, etc.

As a call out to other games:

Horizontal progression systems that I’ve liked in other games:

LoTR:
The titles. The factions. The bits you can turn in to up your factions (gives you something to do besides sell bits to merchants). The emotes. The ability to play musical instruments.

EQ2:
Decorating, housing, carpenter crafting profession, so many house items from holidays and quests. Lore and Legend quests with house item rewards. Heritage quests with house item rewards. Titles. Emotes.

Aion: The useful pets that can follow you around.

There are a lot of excellent suggestions in this thread.

For me, horizontal progression is infinitely more important that vertical. I tend to look at vertical profession as the “job” and the part that you do just so that you can have time, money, etc for your fun things (hobbies = vertical progression).

So what would I love to have for my hobbies?

1. Armor and weapon skin collections. Obviously for this to work, we need an unlock/storage system.

2. Housing and cool stuff to put in it. Quested, crafted, random drops, whatever the source, it makes your house or personal instance more, well, personalized.

3. I’d really like appearance items added to the crafting professions. Armor, weapons, housing items.

4. Titles. More and more titles and a variety of ways to get them (see LoTR for an example of fun ways to get many titles).

All of the hobbies listed above can be incorporated into current zones and activities. I would suggest updating each zone to have a zone specific set of appearance armor, house items, appearance weapons, recipes, and so forth. The karma hearts could be updated to carry these items. The karma merchants all over the land that carry the same few cooking items should be made more region specific with a variety of items.

Some of the most fun I had was locating all the cooking materials my chef needed and locating all the pets for my ranger. I would love more scavenger hunt style things to find.

Let me preface this with saying that I really like a lot about GW2, and I actually like the idea of a"living world". I’m finding in practice however, that it’s making it difficult for me to get re-engaged with the game after taking a break.

I took a break for a while because work was crazy and I needed less involving games (like Android apps I can play for 5 minutes and put down). I’ve been sort of itching to come back now that things have calmed down a bit, but each time I’ve logged in, it’s been halfway through a living story event, and I’m so far behind on why things are actually happening (Who’s Scarlet again and why do we all hate her?) I’m just having trouble engaging with it.

I don’t care about the achievements and I can handle missing holiday or infrequent one time events just fine. Holidays will roll around again next year in some form and the one time events are easy to get up to speed on what happened and what changed. I think it’s the frequency of the living story content that’s putting me off.

It makes me feel like I have to pay way more attention to the game that I’ve got the bandwidth for, and runs counter to why I liked the game so much in the first place, which is that I could pick it up and do whatever I felt like doing, harvesting, crafting, jumping puzzles, dungeons, etc. and still feel that I was making progress. Now I feel pressured to do particular activities when I log in because if I don’t I won’t have another opportunity to experience them later on.

An example might express it better. The original Woodstock was a one time event that can never be recreated and significantly influenced the US. I can’t go back and experience it the same way the folks that were there experienced it, but I can watch video of it and listen to the music and get some idea of what it was like to be there. The living story events are gone completely once they’re over (or at least that’s my perception of it) and there’s no way to go back and experience the content even partially other than reading about it.

Yes I could ignore the living story entirely, but I would really rather not. I don’t want to feel pressured to play a particular way at a particular time. There’s a fine balance between encouraging players to be more active and pressuring them.

I don’t have a solution – just expressing my frustration a little bit. I’m probably more sensitive to it than most folks – I get really stubborn when I feel like someone is nagging me to do something lol. Although, maybe a cinematic summing things up at the end of each event would be enough now that I think about it. When I’m ready to get caught up, and can go through the cinematics and feel more connected to what’s going on.

Yes, it is off putting. People will come into the thread and defend it vehemently and say you don’t have to do it, etc. etc. etc. But no matter what they say, the only story added to the game is the LS and there is no way to experience it if you take a break. In my opinion that is a huge flaw.

Hopefully, they will make it better. Right now, its just the way it is.

Do you discover the recipes? Get the recipe from the mystic forge? They are drops? or what?

Yes this one is a lot of fun.

Try going at off times for your server. I went at an off time and immediately got to run a present in for the achievement.

I love having the daily add to this. There is always some activity that is no fun for me and I’m happy I can stick to the fun ones and avoid the ones I don’t enjoy.

A question: Do the repeatable achievements count once toward the meta? I.E. the first time you do it? Or do they not count at all towards the meta?

Sadly, the problem remains.

1. Game additions that open up things to do, such as wardrobe skin storage, weapon skin storage, items as rewards to add to homes or guild halls as trophy/decoration – I want things to collect and a place to store them that isn’t the bank or my bags.
2. The home instance and personal part of the personal story expanded, the orders role in your life expanded, with quests, etc.
3. Mini games such as minipets arena fights (in la arenanet arena), polymock, other mini games.
4. Something else to level, class, race, something, anything.
5. More areas/zones/permanent things to do.

I’ve finished WvW mapping on my main but not PvE mapping (have a couple of more Orr areas to finish). WvW mapping is not harder than PvE mapping. It is just different as you have less control over it.

If you don’t want to use them then don’t use them. Personally, I like them.

Also, waypoints were here before the LS and before champ trains. Don’t blame them, they are innocent bystanders.

I do the daily a lot solo. Other than that I have some friends I play with if they are on. If they are not on I often log out.

I used to get annoyed at the temporary rush rush of the living story (or world?) also. Now I don’t care. Eventually you probably won’t care either. It will loosen your ties to the game, but that is probably a good thing. Games shouldn’t be very important to us anyway.
