I finally got 13/13. I had a list of 6 that I had done after I knew to check for the achievement going up 1 by 1. So I concentrated on the other zones and repeated them…repeatedly. Finally today it completed on Timberline Falls. I did not kill a clockwork champion this time as I didn’t see one but I did kill a lot of clockwork minions.

What a relief to have that over with.
Sadly, I had 12/13 for almost a week and have been repeating zones over and over since then trying to hit on the one that was bugging out on me …and have it not bug out.

I think that it bugs on one character for some maps and if you change to another character it might work. Sadly I’ve only mapped the zones on one character.

Thanks for doing this. I did not near get through with world one achievements and I appreciate this being reoccuring content.

Talking about “why do we need” always makes me chuckle. It’s a game. You don’t “need” anything. A game is all about what makes it fun and what enhances it.

I actually like the invasions. I don’t like the bugged 13/13 for the achievement.

I’ve had 15/16 achievements for the past couple days, can’t for the life of me do the torch run, can’t get into the pavilion again without doing Sacrlet’s playhouse (won’t even attempt) so I can’t get Champion of the Council, I doubt I’ll be able to visit 30 towers and I don’t want to camp towers in Kryta for Champion of the Crown so I figured hey, I’ve already gotten some achievements from just the Daily’s so why not my last one. Today’s is the one where you just have to use a balloon to travel to Divinity’s Reach. Except when I did it, it only counted toward the regular daily achievements and didn’t complete the meta achievement. Was it because I’ve already used that particular achievement towards the meta or that I’ve used to many daily achievements toward the meta already? Or was it just bugged? Because I’d really rather not camp a tower for escort missions or do Scarlet’s Playhouse to get back to the pavilion…

I was having trouble with the torch run also so here is what I did.

1. Redid my traits on character to add the trait speed increase traits.
2. Looked at the map on dulfy
3. Walked myself through the location of each torch on that specific run to be sure I had the route down
4. Took the speed buff from the nearest person giving the speed buffs
5. then took the quest and ran it

I was failing each time until I went through those steps. By using that approach I got each one first try.

I’ve completed all the maps repeatedly. I’ve done everything they said that you need to do to ensure it completes. Still I’m 12/13. I’ve put in the time. It’s bugged. One of the maps just won’t give me credit. I’ve done them all. More than once, more than twice, more than three times …it doesn’t work for everyone.

You need to be careful about this. What if it is changed and you lose your stack every time you switch weapons. It will make the sigil useless. Suppose I had for example on a ranger longbow and shortbow and often switched between them?

I wouldn’t say they are catering to farmers. They also have had dungeons, mini games of different types including pvp. It also had the gauntlet which was intended to be a challenging solo experience. We had one that catered to jumping puzzle fans.

The current one was a foray into open world LS which was requested by many people on this forum. Many also requested that the rewards be better.

I think that they are experimenting and seeing what works and what doesn’t work well.

I’ve enjoyed a lot of the activities.

My complaint is that it is all rush, rush, rush, and bugs that can’t be fixed because 1) there isn’t enough time to fix them, and 2) it will be over before it could be fixed.

I’m just going to back off living story. If anything requires you complete a certain amount of things that are likely to bug out on you, I won’t even start them anymore. I have better things to do than put up with buggy content that will disappear in 2 weeks anyway.

One huge difference between expansions and living story is that expansions expand the game content. Living story does not permanently expand the content.

They said that the champion clockwork ones would help assure that you get credit for completion so those are the ones I have been looking for. Basically because they are not the debris created ones but always spawn from the portal. I’ve been completing multiple portal closings so I don’t know what else to do.

I got 6 from boxes and I’ve done maybe 30ish invasions.

I’m running through all 13 again making sure I get clockworks but I’m having NO luck. My daily updated on one of them so I’m worried it glitched that one. I just wish I had someway of knowing the 1 map that is glitched on me.

Did you try Frostgorge more than once? Just in case?

I too am stuck at 12/13 and am running them all again making sure I kill clockwork champions if possible. Fireheart is potentially one of the ones that isn’t updating for me also.

Sadly, I don’t have time to do two of the scarlett instance ones and can’t participate in anything else now.

That’s interesting. I wondered why we had 3 champions at one minion portal. That must be why. There wasn’t that many of us on the map. We barely managed to complete successfully.

When you afk and get credit are you in a group? I’m trying to figure out why I’m stuck at 12/13. Perhaps you were in a group and they completed the required steps?

I love the content of the living stories.

I hate the bugs, the deadlines, and the temporary nature of it.

I have complained much about the invasions not properly counting. In all that, I think the overall activities aren’t being mentioned as much as the problem with the bugged achievement.

However, as far as the activities go this time, I’ve really enjoyed this update. The only thing I haven’t participated in is the gauntlet. But I have participated in everything else and have enjoyed it.

In most of the living stories I have liked some or at times all of the activities. What I don’t like are bugs, feeling pressured to complete things in a limited time, and temporary. All of those have NOTHING to do with the actual content. The content I have enjoyed.

I’m stuck 12/13 too. And not because I haven’t done all 13 maps. Repeatedly. Because 1 map won’t update. And I don’t know which one.

Don’t feel bad. I was surprised when I got the reward. I accidentally completed the daily while doing one of the map invasions.

Actually, people have reported that they got credit for Flame and Frost and not advanced their number of maps. For that reason, I’m going to repeat Fireheart to be sure it isn’t my buggy map.

Your memory will never improve if you don’t actively try to remember things.

No. It isn’t. What is difficult is to know which one is not counting for you. Repeatedly. As in you have done all maps several times and are still 12/13.

Thank you for your answers. You have cleared up my confusion about the champion.

Simple question:

I know that the dredge and pirates do not count towards the achievement of completing a map invasion. (as stated by dev).

1) do you just have to participate in closing a portal by killing clockworks, OR
2) do you have to kill a champion clockwork for it to count towards completing that map, AND
3) if the answer is 2 – does it have to be a specific type of champion? or any clockwork champion?

I can understand the frustration of failing the event. However, if you were in an overflow with too few people, without those afk people or with them doesn’t matter. If they weren’t going to play, the alternative for them would be to not be there. Either way they wouldn’t be helping.

On the bright side, I think this invasion has cured me of wanting to complete living stories.

From now on I will assume that the game will be bugged and will use my own checklist from the absolute beginning. This time I unfortunately I did not realize the need to do that until it was too late to know the status of 6 maps.

Since it is bugged and not working properly, I could have for example, Frostgorge bugged out on me and could repeat it and it not show advancement again. That would not mean that it was not the one I needed to complete. It would mean it was the one that bugged out on me yet again. If you did not start your list at the very beginning and check after each invasion to see if it advanced or not then you do not know which map bugged out on you. And to top it all off, you may never know and it may never advance for you. No matter how many times you complete it.

At this point you will probably have more who afk. Many people have to repeat the invasions all over again to find the one that didn’t count for them.

1) you have to kill clockworks (possibly a champion clockwork is required)
2) then you need to ensure that you don’t disconnect or end up in another overflow – best way to do this is stay away from fights and do not waypoint

I’m sick of repeating the invasions and will just try and kill a clockwork champion and then go run in a safe corner and read a book for fun.

Can you just give everyone with 11/13 or 12/13 credit. I have done every map at least twice and I don’t think your suggested method is going to work.

This is why rushing out content that is time gated is not a great thing to do.

And do you have to kill watchwork champions? If so that is ridiculous because they don’t always spawn at each and every watchwork event.

I pick out the shortest ones to complete and if I complete more than 5 it is just a by-product of what else I am doing. They only give 1 point each, don’t waste your time past the 5 easiest to complete for the day.

Yes, I would like to know how long it lasts also.

Everyone was diverted to the overland invasions due to them gating entry back into the pavilion. Most just chose to not go back. Either they are not participating at all or just stayed farming the invasions.

You get a chest? I thought you only got one chest per tower ever? I’ve never gotten a chest at a tower more than once.

That would work. Anything to let someone know which area is repeatedly bugging out on them and not completing would be acceptable.

Please don’t do this again. I can’t do anything else in game if I want to make one of these. At 8 minutes after the hour the overflow was already closed to the event.

Update: I did Lornar’s pass just now which was the only map I had never done. I did not disconnect and we were successful and killed scarlet. The achievement correctly updated. I have been doing my best to find a clockwork champion to kill each time I’ve done a map since that was given as a requirement. I did kill 1 watchwork champion. I hope that isn’t a requirement to get the credit because it is luck to find one.

I am it 12/13 now. Other than Lornar’s Pass I have done every map at least twice. I do not know which one is not working for me.

Also, I set my settings to “best performance” which seems to have helped with the lag. Kind of annoying that players and mobs are mostly invisible now though.

After the first map I did didn’t register, I opened up Note and made my own tracker… After each completed invasion, I’d check if the counter had been increased. If yes, then I’d put the name of the map down in my text file.

I know it’s not perfect, and I know that I wouldn’t have to do that, but it works…

Unfortunately, at first I just assumed it wouldn’t be bugged and didn’t keep up with which ones were working and which were not. By the time I realized the problem, I had six that 1 of has not counted. I’ve repeated all of those but it still hasn’t updated my count.

I’ve seen some areas pop up multiple times but still have not been able to participate in Lornar’s Pass. I wish there was a schedule posted somewhere.

I would love it if the enemies would despawn after the goal is completed. Then I would be out of combat, could pick up loot, and could rez people and then be on to the next event quickly.

Also add a list of which zone will be up at what time. Currently I’m logging in once an hour to see which zone is up and then logging back out. Why? Because if I start doing anything else in game I might lose tract of time and miss the one zone I know I need.

Of course the 1 zone I need that I don’t know which of the 12 didn’t give me credit for is another problem.

I enjoyed mini pets in gw1. I liked getting the random ones at your birthday and being able to trade with friends for ones I didn’t have.

I haven’t gotten into mini pets as much in gw2. I’ve collected less than 20 (4 from HOM, 4 from Halloween, 4 from mail gift, a few more here and there). I use them less here than in gw1. I just don’t remember to get them out and use them.

Yeah, I don’t like mapping Orr either. In fact my main is sitting at needing 3 maps to finish and two of them are in Orr. I just don’t like going there. It’s annoying. (and before someone says, it’s supposed to be hard, easy stuff can be annoying). I don’t mind running in a zerg there but I haven’t run into any zerg mapping groups. :P

Please do this and have it retroactively check the ones off you got credit for.

I heard that you get the rewards once per map per day. If you repeated any maps then that might be the issue.

Edit: I was just told this, I haven’t checked to verify it so consider it unreliable.

Make sure your email hasn’t been hacked. That might be how they are getting access to your account.

Go talk to vorp on your main character. It worked for me switching between two characters.

I am at 11/13 and know one of the two maps as I haven’t had it rotate on for me yet.

For the other one I’m missing though, I have repeated every map. Therefore some map is repeatedly not updating for me and I have absolutely no way to find out which one it is.

It is beginning to look like I will end with 12/13 at best.

I liked it at first. Now I’m tired of it but I have 2 more maps to do. So close and yet so far because it glitched so I don’t know what 1 of those 2 maps even is. I’ve never made it to my server for this. Always I’m in overflow.
