What do you think about client-side gliding? I think the negative implications might be worse than ArenaNet realizes.
1. you won’t die from gliding but other players see you hopping around even more. This will be totally destroying the feeling from the game. And even if WvW team would some day want to implement gliding, it is impossible…It will create so much lag, nobody would be able to aim those bombs on ground targets.
2. the fact that we can’t start gliding mid jump from bouncy mushrooms totally wrecked my happiness about the update. I literally use that gliding from mushrooms all the time. What about some adventures like bugs in branches and floor is lava? There you have to glide mid-jump. It will completely ruin the flow and dynamicity of running-jumping-gliding. Landings from mushrooms are clunky as hell and gliding mid jump fixed that for me.
By clunky do you mean the mushrooms dropping you somewhere midair instead of the intended location?
That geometry + game engine + sharks was not the best choice of combinations …
All classes are damagedealers, we have no holy trinity of tank/heal/dps. With that said the two you pick from are totally different from eachother. Necros are a ranged light class, and guardians are melee heavy class. Both of them can of course play with melee and ranged weapons.
Actually Reaper is melee and Dragonhunter is ranged.
The first set of elite specicalizations were intended provide playstyles that were a bit too weak on the base classes.
It is also part of dreamer and kudzu’s collection. There might be some bugs with priority. If you don’t have those collections unlocked you could try unlocking those and see if it gives you the flower.
You should be able to start at 1 but you will need 4 to finish. You can just check with the vendor if he will see you the book to unlock the collection. Pretty sure I bought the book and unlocked the collection before getting the fourth mastery.
ok.
Blade and soul actually hit top twitch viewer # as mmorpg, as attached photo shows.
This means pretty much american people actually like japanese anime looking style, becuz only reason to play such game is to see their female char and if you watch twitch streamer who are american and non-asian, they actually do play female characters a lotttt regardless of the streamer is male or female.
but Blade and Soul is Korean and so is Tera. :P
Are there enough Twitch streamers to be a valid sample size?
But when compare this trend to tera, tera has absolutely no viewers, they also has like japanese anime-looking character, called Elins. But still tera isn’t popular game in NA, probly due to elins look childish.
I’ve also seen people mentioning how great PvP is in B&S though PvE is apparently run of the mill. Haven’t every heard much about Tera. PvP is probably more fun to watch. PvE type things that people watch tend to be stuff like speedruns.
This means,
American people like Asian art style only when only Those two factors, Japanese anime style looking is combined with the another factor, mature (like, huge chest size and hip size). That is why tera isn’t popular i guess. What do you think? Do you like combined art style of japanese anime-looking and mature factors when it comes to play such foreign mmo?
I think you are not looking at this hard enough.
You can either salvage or toss into the forge then sell the result.
This
Too much filler time to save the 100g?
Does not compute.
Save?
You are spending more time and more gold.
https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/item/29176-Storm
535g to craft
450g to buy, more if someone gets to that 450g one before you do but the next 12 is still cheaper to buy
How about a bag of minor runes? :P
There are some really(most of them?) stupid items in that vendor considering the time gated nature of the currency.
Have you seen how many lopsided armor are in game? They don’t like symmetry at all.
Heh, my last run of last night, someone yelled the Copper champ no aoe myth, and it still just amazes me that with all the guides out there, people still believe that.
Its no Myth! I have watched his health rise from 50% back to 75%. Worse when it just hangs at 50% and everyone start the debate of AoE or no. Check out Champion Mordrem Husk Copper under behavior.
Offshoot:
“Abilities
Movement speed decreased by 50%; stacks duration. Crippled
Inflicts Deals damage every second; stacks intensity. Bleeding
Heals Allies On Death1”Poison Bubbles Large and Small:
“Abilities
Heals Allies When Popped”Can it be countered? Yes, absolutely. These days however the counter is less often and discussing it while trying to take him down usually ends in a failure
It is also true there are a great number of new players in SW who do not know what to do or do not have the ability to give someone else ideas a try (after all every one is right 100% of the time).
Agreed, many are not reaching or attempting to reach the cone of safety.
Agreed, many are not killing pustules. It has been a long time since I have seen SW fail, it is happening more and more. I thought I would never see another South Lane of SW fail, but I was wrong! All we can do is try to guide others
You forgot the fine print on the wiki.
The large bubbles move on their own towards the boss and pop on their own when they are within range of the boss. If it went from 50% to 75% then that means nobody bothered to destroy the bubbles before they were close enough. 50% to 75% would be approximately 12 bubbles all near the boss. The offshoots apply regeneration which only stacks in duration not intensity.
Heh had a VW run like that a few days ago. Seemed like it was going pretty well then I realized I was alone in that triangle.
Everything normal here. NA server.
Could have sworn this used to be an option in the guild window waaaaaay back.
In either case this final battle could do with some tweaking, as for resuming that should be available on all levels of content regardless! we don’t live in a world (yet!) of perfect internet and I’m highly surprised that after the debacle with Guild Wars 1 this is again an issue with Guild Wars 2 as well.
All issues could be easily fixed if they made that last instance work like a dungeon. Judging by the amount of bugs and issues of that final fight (and DS for that matter) I think they didn’t finish implementing them before HoT release, much like how bugged Orr was at release. Maybe they thought we wouldn’t reach that point fast enough and they’ll be able to patch it?
The first event of the Melandru chain still breaks on a regular basis so don’t get your hopes up about any of these getting any time soon.
The first upgrade for the ore will unlock both Iron and Silver, while the first upgrade for wood will unlock both Soft and Seasoned.
Whether it’s a bug that the wrong ores are given on the first tier nodes, or a bug in the description saying you should get Iron and Soft Wood from the first tier nodes, is uncertain at this point. Whatever the case, the next upgrade will get you where you’re supposed to be.
Seems like a bug in the description since iron and soft wood are both tier 2 materials.
Cost aside I wish there was an batch option for these things. There is too much unnecessary clicking involved. -_-
Miyani could sell something for 10 Piles of Crystalline Dust and it replaces the dust in the recipe and it would take 3x 30 of the other stuff.
You probably got them from a karma merchant, WvW vendor or as level up rewards. All those things can’t be salvaged or sold to stop players (easily) turning badges, karma and XP into gold.
Check if you can throw them in the Mystic Forge. Some you can, some you can’t. If you can’t then you should just delete them.
Things bought with badges can be salvaged now, including ones that were bought before the change. They salvage into badges.
Superior Sigil of Concentration is the only sigil that is worth using an extractor for.
its actually really is that one :/ lol ill try the extractor
Well there is also the cost of replacing the weapon. If the weapon is less than 2g then you might as well get a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
PSA: infinite gliding is no longer infinite
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Khisanth.2948
You just have to train yourself to stop just before your endurance runs out. It’s not really that big a deal…or shouldn’t be.
Big deal? No. Confusing to people who earned it earlier? Yes.
But that’s mostly because people call it “infinite gliding” when the mastery is actually “advanced gliding”.
Description:
Learn to glide with such efficiency that you no longer use endurance to stay up in the air, only to perform lean techniques.
Fixed a bug that could allow players to glide indefinitely without having trained Advanced Gliding Mastery. Deploying your glider now requires a small amount of gliding endurance.
Most people don’t read bug notes and the current description is ambiguous about whether you need endurance to start gliding or not. They probably should update the in-game text.
tl;dr think of it as “Uninterrupted Gliding” not “Infinite” and it will be easier to get used to.
The patch note makes it seem like they broke this to fix the other bug.
Superior Sigil of Concentration is the only sigil that is worth using an extractor for.
Probably just a bug and if you don’t need to buy gems on your free account. You can buy the item and gift it to your free account.
I roleplay as a force of nature causing deforestation.
There is also a slightly more complicated issue. It is not a very good idea to train people into thinking there will always be someone around to ress them. That is not always possible and sometimes it is a bad idea. Anyone who dies on the electric field at Golem MKII would be an example.
I love this idea. I wonder if we could take it a step or two further and maybe add an emergency beacon or whatever for the downed player to activate. That would alert any would-be rescuers who could respond.
I would also like it if there was an achievement tied to it. I realise we already have combat healer but maybe something a step above that.
There is already a map icon for both downed and dead.
Banners buffs come from interacting with banners that someone has put down. That has nothing to do with which guild you are in.
Guild enhancement buffs are the only guild relate buffs and that is obtained by talking to the bartender in your guild hall.
Heh … if you think guild upgrades expensive wait till you look at the cost of the decorations.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/41dpc6/crafting_21_agony_infusion_on_the_cheap/cz1pu37 some prices for reference.
Well before you make the next mistake … the spirit thing you salvage from it can also be sold.
Should the 99.999% of players who are careful with such a valuable item have to click through a warning when we forge because of the 0.001% who make silly mistakes?
Salvaging rares and exotics already drives me nuts!
This is pure nanny-state stuff.
Like that stupid confirmation when trying to buy obsidian shards …
3. Yes, influence is basically gone. Now, you earn Favor instead of Influence. Any old influence for old guilds is useless, except for converting it to Favor.
Also aetherium but that is less direct since it speeds up the mining rate.
I think that might be same as last year. Could take up until the next day’s reset.
GW1 has different keys for each of the different regional chests. The difference is, lock picks open any chest. They are a drop and can also be sold, if you would rather do that.
It would be nice to have a universal lock pick for GW2, but I think it would be better to just put keys in the wallet.(If we can only have 1 of those 2 choices)
They were required for hard mode. There was also a chance for multiple uses out of one key.
We have a bunch of different keys here because they decided to have a different currency for every map. Any new map they add would just make things worse.
o_O this is expecting Wildstar to shutdown by the end of 2016?
or u can mine for them and help cool the ore market down
I’ll get right on that as soon as you show me a reliable supply of ori nodes.
Where are you getting all the brown pigments to keep up with the slivers?
lol
Some recipes don’t call for it. Check your mail. And yes potato farming. But your question still shows even removing the silvers larger guild will retain an edge even with this change. So why not?
Ah … I see the problem now. While brown pigments do suck because you need them at every level but it turns out that is also true for Resonating Slivers as well. The sliver requirement is just slightly less obvious because you have to refine them up to higher tiers.
While the brown pigments are a constant 10 the requirements for slivers grow exponentially.
80% of the cost of a Guild Bar’s 522g price tag comes from 422g of Resonating Slivers.
Where are you getting all the brown pigments to keep up with the slivers?
Try to think of Rush as more of a good time feeling here :P It’s a long term project to knock out with new friends. But once a week we plan to “Rush” one zone and knock it out too!
An example of our current hero point rush this week:
Videos / Picture Links in the reddit post for those that want to see us helping, / meeting / having a great time with players!
I also know it was a long shot asking the devs here, but it never hurts to ask!
So more of a world completion leisurely stroll.
Probably not going to happen. I assume they want you to buy it from other players.
At least for me there is a very simple solution … just use left mouse button for looking around instead of right.
Some environments need to be less reflective like snow or all of Malchor’s Leap.
Hmm now that they are 1/3rd of the price the last time I checked might need to re-evaluate.
I actually got the 3 plates I needed from fine versions. It was still cheaper than the rares at the time.
I don’t have problem getting these but they do feel like the rarest of the 3.
Funny, I thought dragonite was.
Dragonite is only rare if you have wb allergies. I only do those occasionally these days but they still refill my dragonite supply extremely fast.
I don’t have problem getting these but they do feel like the rarest of the 3.
Chill has a 5 stack limit from all sources, it is already fine.
Unless you also think we should be given an immunity to direct damage after taking any source of direct damage for 5 seconds? As long as it is applied equally to both damage types it should be fine.
and it’s not like the damage from chill is free. It requires taking a trait which means not taking either of the other two. Actually I feel that the trait that allows chill to deal damage is the worst of the 3 …
Well their main purpose is convenience so that is right up the alley for gemstore. I certainly wouldn’t mind if they were cheaper but on the other hand I don’t see anything wrong with the current prices. One the other hand it is probably better to save up for the infinite use ones.
… but Factions was the worst part of GW1
I don’t feel like the need for more run through sewers and shantytowns in GW2.
Apparently no but I have no idea what the source is.
Haven’t gotten around to doing more research on it yet but so far what I’ve seen/read indicates PvP is great while PvE is meh but only real way to know that is personal experience (or I could ask a friend who said he was going to be playing it for a bit).
Doesn’t look like I’ll run into the trenchcoats problem there either …
Actually I recant that previous assertion assuming they fix the personal reward bug “soon”.
As long as there is enough time for one guild member to make it through the race the guild will get credit for the race. Everyone else just needs to make it through once to get personal reward (after they fix the bug).
On the other hand it does make things messy and a bit confusing at times.
