Am i the only one that finds this incredibly hilarious. Grouch AKA Josh Davis at around this time last year said that thieves mindlessly dodge and announced that the studio will be killing evades. This made thief utterly useless till HoT release.
Just before HoT droppped Karl Mclain with such pride announced the daredevil spec which has even more evades thn what they destroyed thief for. The punchline is during a demo of the spec The Great Mclain literally used only one skill (death blossom) with lotus training to kill the chieftain.
So Anet complains about evades then destroys thieves.They then make evades permanent and make it extremely easy to apply pressure while evading.
Being able to pressure while evading is something that has always been limited, either you couldnt move while doing it or the attack damage was small, now we have cancerous d/d and staff thieves who just press one button to do amazing damage while permanently avoiding it
Lmao i tip my hat to these guys, great artists they have, but f#@kin confused class designers.

Naming the thread condi bunkers and talking about reapers. Reaper needs to be babysitted by scrappers eles or druids and is just 100 times less bunker than warrior or mesmers

guard doesnt need a rework. The only thing guard might need is an increase to its base hp.

If they wanted to do something to balance guardian they could just add VoJ or some basic burn to downstate so that we actually get some damage as a condi build. I mean it would be really useful seeing as I spend most my time on my back these days
Maybe they can add a trait that make guards go back to spawn as soon as they are dead (avoid waiting on the timer). This will be a huge buff.
Maybe put a 30 sec icd to avoid too much power creep ?
EU mesmers are stronger than NA.
This is why they butchered bunker for first final (after season1).

So the only dedicated way to balance pvp is amulet removal.
Other than that pvp has to rely on a balance team decisions which don’t care about pvp (you know the team which nerfed guardian arguing it had an overall strong impact on all game modes)

overall game is much more balanced than it was before big patch.
Only thing that makes things look more balanced is the non stacking pro rules.
All teams were close to be clones (I just noticed a variant with a mes and another with a druid)
Without stacking rules I am convinced we would have seen 3+ revs everywhere
Now that eu best team play the same comp than us team….anet has a huge problem for its next balance patch..
There is no more profession to kill without hurting abjured.
Only thing they can do is to kill ele and engi as it is clearly at this point us got outplayed the most.
Maybe buff to god mode thief but I fear toker will find a good thief in eu also.
What is for sure is that guardian warriors and mesmer will remain a very long time out of meta as abjured are in difficulty and do not master this prof.
Ranger which was seen as a strong class before the final has not prooven it had a place and will not get help as it is not played by abjured.
Maybe removing the class stacking limit rule and let abjured play 5 rev team….
Ele are full of bad players just used to rule everyone for such a long time.

I don’t really know what you’re asking but I do know that they are implementing it due to how horrendously boring season 1 of pro league was. Double mesmer and double rev was very plain to watch and when anet kittens up and creates a God tier build like chronobunker, stacking the class becomes way too powerful and resulted in easy carrying teammates in ranked, and a very boring pro league.
Boring maybe…but as you raised it..there were god tier builds…and we saw it.
Good way to manage the problem is to shave the builds that are obviously too efficient.
With new esl rules…op builds will remain as tournaments will no more enlight them.
This is lazzy way to fix balance issues.
…that classes were able to fill the same role, but in different ways.
For example, Warrior could bring support via Shouts healing and removing conditions while Engis could bring healing bombs and water fields to blast in. Thieves could bring high single target damage by being evasive and stealthy while Guardians use their Meditations.
While the individual concepts are still generally there, often times one class is now simply better at doing a certain role than every other class. In addition to that, the trait lines have become very muddled in terms of the role they’re supposed to fit. Some are fine and it’s more of a matter of numbers than functionality. Other lines however are either too broad or too narrow.
One example would be Alchemy on Engi. On the same line you can get access to Protection, passive regen, and also Might. Of course you’re going to see this line see heavy use. Engi as a class has either been a jack of all trades and master of none, or a jack of all trades master of all. Engi is my second most played class but atm I just feel dirty playing it right now because I just bring so much to the table: good damage, team support, CC, and even stealth (and a counter to enemy stealth).
Compare this to Warrior, I actually think that despite its flaws it is still one of the better designed classes. The Strength line is for damage, the Defense line if for…defense, the Tactics line if for (mostly) support, and so on. Warrior is underwhelming mostly due to numbers and the fact that almost every other class has become self sufficient and so individual roles are less prevalent.
TL;DR: We don’t need buffs, we need for almost every class to be scaled back and for each trait line to be more focused so that choices are actually meaningful and that there’s significant tradeoffs.

I was just wondering what was the reason of the no stacking profession rule that has been decided for ESL tournament.
1) Professional teams need help to avoid taking inefficient comp ?
2) Stacking teams is an obvious evidence of abysmal ballance quality ?
If 2) then isn’t it dangerous to keep obvious op builds hidden by artificial limiting rules ?
And what about profession that can cover different roles with different build ?
Ikasun or something like that. And lvl 25 I think. I’ve been playing a kungkittenmaster so just been taking my time leveling up in PvE helping the guildies that moved over with me adjust to a new game.
And gold seller spam is horrendous but if you turn off map and faction chat it isn’t nearly as bad.
Definitely have a game/tv show on stand by if you stuck in a long queue. It’ll calm down as the weeks progress though I think.WOW censoring F*U ahah
