Screenshots? When I have had decay is was in units of 100. So something seems odd.

I would expect a loss for a top player to be more significant than a mid gold player.

I had 102 pts of decay. Played one match and was still on -2pts of decay. So decay is taken off 100pts at a time but ive received decay in odd numbers.

I believe it increments, over the course of the day, which is logical. Its 100 points per day, but the gaining of that is spread across the 24 hour period. It doesn’t tack on all at once for a given day, it just accumulates over the course of it. Hope that makes sense.

No, not new. Just was hoping they actually gave you a decent chance of getting the dyes. But I guess I gave ANeT too much credit. At least it only cost me 500 gems to know that I won’t buy any dye kits from this moment on.

I could toss out the whole “rng is rng” thing, but I won’t. If you’re after a specific color or a guaranteed acquisition, it’s always better to just buy it from the TP. As with Black Lion Chest Keys, unless you’re doing it because you enjoy the gamble, don’t do it. We’ve seen the complaint about the dye kits and black lion chests many, many times now.

Establishing a baseline actually. New players, ok I can see them being misled, but established players? Its not like this is something “new.”

It’s also not like Anet hides the fact that there is a large selection of “regular” dies in the pool of colors that can be gotten. It’s in very plain black and white in the blog:

I feel you are misleading people terribly here. There are 1 or 2 different guilds that almost always have SW event maps going, and I see the assorted legendaries pretty regularly when I’m out there doing events. You just have to check the Core Tyria Squads section to get a taxi in.

While I get what you’re going for, OP, please keep in mind that you can only speak for yourself. Maybe for close friends as well, but for the rest of us that you don’t know…not so much.

I don’t mind the ‘bits and pieces’ as you put it. I’ve always enjoyed the Living Story, even when it was temporary. Was it perfect? No. Did it need improvement? Yes. Is it still improving? Of course. Do I want to see it stop? Not at all.

I also don’t have an issue with HoT’s story line. Except that we rush through it. Thier
means of lengthening it via mastery locking assorted steps was not the wisest decision, which they fixed. Hopefully they learn from that.

We expect a full continent? Uh, no. I would definitely like one, but I’m sure as hell not demanding one. I’d love to go back to Elona and Cantha. I advocate quite vocally for Cantha, as it was my favorite GW1 locale; however, if we get there, then great. If we don’t, well, that’s ok too I suppose. I’m not in charge of telling the story. I’m just along for the ride.

New armors, sure. New bosses, obviously. New races? Could take it or leave it.

The primary thing I do agree with, and I think most of us would probably all agree on, is that they should definitely take their time and not rush.

This is true and I really hope Anet will fix that. I just bought a full set of light armor from the PvP vendor with the intention to change the stats to Viper in the Mystic Forge for my necro/reaper, only to find out the MF recipe doesn’t work on this set…

isn’t Viper one of the stats you can choose for the Armor? Why do you need the mystic forge or did you choose the wrong stats?

Indeed it is an option. I bought the last 3 pieces of armor I needed to finish my light set on my necro and Viper is what she runs. I also upgraded a couple of my weapons to ascended this way (again, Viper’s stats).

I believe all stat options are available to choose from, so I’m assuming they just misclicked?

700 gems is a steal. The discount at 5 is an even better steal. I love these things.

Not in stop stats, yes! Sliding through under the radar, the White Knight that I supposedly am.

Generally speaking I don’t engage as a thief unless I know they are low on or out of cool downs, low on health, or someone else has their attention engaged. Then I’ll pop in, thump them, and pop back out.

I don’t think I really “main” anything though. I play ele, necro, guard, and thief this season. Still haven’t gotten comfortable with druid.

I’m not a big sigil swapper personally. I just go with what I feel works for what I’m using, which means I don’t really min-max.

That said, I’m not opposed to them adding some sort of functionality to ‘add’ sigils to legendaries and have them ‘remember’ what’s been added, thus creating the ability to swap a sigil ooc to any sigil that has been ‘learned.’

But that is exactly the casual part in HoT. It’s the thing everyone does: doing open world as max level and working towards masteries/elite spec.

Im “ok” with the number of shards and their acquisition. Would be fine if they dropped it to 1000 per season even, and weighed it more heavily towards the end of the chests. Not that this would really dissuade anyone that has already wandered in to get the shards.

I’d be “ok” with them removing pips for losses (not that I see 3 pips as a big deal honestly). Losing isn’t necessarily “all your fault” and getting nothing at all feels pretty crappy. Especially if you battle your heart out and lose by 10 points or less.

They do need to do something about afking in general. Its been an issue every season. They need harsher penalties. Perhaps not just dishonor, but actually removing rewards from accounts found in violation of afking or match manipulation. They have done something similar in GW1 in the past.

Obviously things were coded with the initial stance in mind, and as such to make such an item now would require base structure changes similarly to why they can’t allow any class to use any armor skin as it so pleases. Its highly unlikely it would be a financially sound decision to try to change these things now.

If it were as easy as flipping some values in their database, I’m sure they’d be happy to oblige the people waving their credit cards at them. However, since they’ve stated there are things that are hard coded (cringe) and it seems like they are using NoSQL databases (based on their open position postings), its not quite that straight forward.

I’m in that ‘just about right’ category. I do get more than I need now, but not more than I can manage with the assorted ‘material eaters’ with the exception of bloodstone dust. I do end up just chucking a lot of that.

I’ve never found ABML to be self-sustaining, aurillium → key purchase, generally speaking. I’ve always needed to supplement my aurillium income via minor pillar farming.

I feel your pain OP, lost 2 games back to back. Because of this also. But then I’ve won matches because of this. Sadly this will always happen, some people believe they are better than they are, they don’t realise they are 20% of a team. Everyone needs to be good to win, and stop playing because they think everyone else is a noob.

The thing they seem to forget is that they have the same mmr or close too as the rest of there team. But then these players think they are ELS pro players.

Like you, I’ve been on the receiving of a win because of afk. It never feels good to win in such a way. I would much rather win fair & square by playing better.

Yeah me too. Having your team out play the other is always the best way to win, even if it’s by one point. The close games are the best.

Take note of the score and the chat…. This is the quality of my games when I was in Gold and players were actually friendly and not salty.

I’ve seen some good gold games as well. Last couple of days though, even gold has had more than its share of salt. Sadly games were teammates aren’t bickering like pmsing frenemies are becoming fewer and fewer.

In the Heroic Fantasy that I read, the Hero is not a doormat. Perhaps there is plenty of Heroic Fantasy that has your kind of hero. I haven’t seen much of it. Perhaps its not very popular.

I hate it when people tell me to stop typing in teamchat and “concentrate”. I can quite easily type and move between points. Or chat and hold a point against a less skilled player / less offensive build. Hell, sometimes I amuse myself by pointing out what my opponent did wrong (aka “should have dodged that” or “wasted rebound there mate”).

See, I don’t have an issue if people type and play. Even if they are kittening at each other, as long as they play. I had a match yesterday that literally devolved into the other 4 people on my team standing in or at the base kittening at each other. In map chat. So the other team joined in and egged the two main perpetrators on.

I liked it, so I bought it. It looks quite nice and fits thematically (I feel) with my guardian.

Generally, I’d like to think I’m pretty easy going. I’m ok with losing, as long as people aren’t being blatantly stupid. But things that kitten me off:

• When teammates get into a flaming match with each other and are too busy kittening to even play.

• When teammates lose a 4v3 at mid, and then repeatedly just feed mid, and then blame the thief for the loss.

• When you get one of those same teammates in the next match, and they are repeatedly telling the other 3 people how awful you are, and they are dead 75+% of the game. Meanwhile, you’re happily decapping far repeatedly and sniping the hell out of the other team. (And you win the match by more than 200 points)

• When no one takes home at the start of the match. Granted, partially my fault, but as a support ele or necro, that’s sort of a bad rotational choice for me to do.

I’ll be the first to admit, I am not a stellar player. I know I have issues getting rotations right. I know there are 1v1s that I should probably win and I don’t. I know I get tunnel vision at times and don’t see the bigger picture, but blatant stupidity and pettiness just make me want to stab someone.

Surprisingly, I dont mind the shoulder or the butt cape on this one. But, I can see why people would like the option to turn shoulders / gloves on / off similar to helm. I’m fine with that. I’d probably turn the shoulder off most of the time too, regardless of not minding it. (Im just not into shoulder armor 99% of the time)

I don’t see it as doable for the cloth tail though.

I think I spent every spare moment in the jumping puzzle last year. After I finally managed to get through it. Just had to find the right song to jump to the beat to I guess.

Which one is more fun… hm, tough question. I like them both equally, and both seem to be relatively lucrative for me. Since they don’t happen at the same time, and I don’t actually have to choose between them, I’m just gonna say I enjoy them both equally.

Honestly, while I am very very happy to see pvp balancing, I am sad to say I also have issues with this.

I play 2 out of 3 game modes exclusively. I occasionally dabble in the third. The drastic differences (especially on CDs and whatnot) between game modes gets annoying.

All this will do is further lock people into specific game modes for their class.

If these were split with wvw & pvp vs pve, I might be less annoyed, but I must say, even though I play a class seeing a buff here (fresh air scepter ele) I am bothered by the lack of consistency in game modes.

I know most players love this, but it just really drives me nuts. :P

I’m sorry skill splitting bothers you, but it’s something that absolutely needs to happen if the different modes are to be balanced in any way. They are different animals and skills act differently in different scenarios. Trying to keep the skills identical between the modes when the modes don’t function the same is just asking for issues. We already see it with balancing. We’ve seen it for years.

But 20-30 bags is about average. 1-2 minutes of clicking and sometimes merchantimg because the bags got full. I think OP tripped on an ant and now complains there are too many elephants

I can see 15 minutes worth of clean up (which includes opening bags), but only after something like a 5+ instance AB MM with at least 2 characters doing the looting phase.

Would roughly even out to the same amount of total loot as salvaging it, about same value (or more if you get iron etc). Saves you 6 coppers for a copper-fed-use and no sigil/rune.

I completely agree. The issue I have is that if I purchase a precursor, the Legendary I get will be unbound and I can sell it. If you craft a precursor, often for more $ than purchasing, the Legendary you get is bound. Not sure why Anet decided to make it bound. They should have kept it unbound and people could simply choose which path to take to the same end item.

Granted, values are going to vary depending on what subcomponent prices are and how patient you want to be.

Personally, if it around the same price, its not something I see an issue with, because I collect all the materials around me as I play, and salvage everything I get anyway. The only thing I really have a hard time acquiring are the leathers.

Could you guys PLEASE stop putting exclusive skins behind PvP. It is really onerous for us players that would prefer to not PvP. This is not necessarily true. If it were distinctly easier in one mode over another, then yes that would influence people to play in just the one mode. However, if its equally difficult and its just an alternative route, then people should more often simply choose that which they enjoy.

I’m also confused about the decay how long before your rank starts to decay from being inactive. Decay happens in every division. There is a 3 day grace period, then 7 days of decay. Each game played will remove 1 day of decay.

There are a couple extras so one or two in the wall isn’t a problem.
