remove condi caps (allow multiple people to burn the same target, no 25 bleed cap etc)
but make it effected by damage reduction effects like toughness, protection, armour etc.
this would benefit everyone, people would finally be able to use condis in wvw and pve where the caps have previously made it a bad choice,
and in Spvp we might finally get to see something other than burning, bleeding and poison on the death breakdown!
edit, poison would still need a cap on the healing reduction, but the damage could still stack.
condi builds are still getting perma burning with only 1-2 sources of burning through balthazaar runes, but yeah lets ignore that and nerf every power rune!
when i see something on the death breakdown that isn’t a condition then sure,
nerf more power runes.
edit: also i’ve started playing Pirate Runes+Phalanx Strength
i mostly made the build because everyone was complaining about parrot,
so i thought i’d give the parrot fury and 1000 power, trololo >:-3

Why It can`t work like in WoW\Rift\Swtor or other MMO game?
WHen we fight world boss\dungeon creatures\open world content – some dragon or something else take condition damage from me and all players who damage him? He suffer from my bleed+burning and from others players bleed+burning or poison or torment. Those condition effects should not replace each other – it’s just absurd!
I understand the state of sPvP or WvW but in PvE it need to work in another way!
it should work like that, BUT also be effected by damage mitigation like toughness, protection, armour, dodging, invulnerability etc.
also poison would need a cap on its healing reduction.
i’d prefer if they put it under “skill fact changes” rather than “profession balance” because it would save us the time of reading through a bunch of useless junk just to figure out that nothing has changed.
i think this is the 3rd patch without any balance changes but collectively hundreds of lines of proposed “profession balance” which was actually just fixing errors in tooltips.
i play with this bombzerker build quite a bit,
aslong as you get the smoke bomb off you might not melt!
there have been multiple times where i down every enemy on the point in seconds!
it hits everyone on the point HARD!
its not really a serious build for tournaments etc, but its fun for hotjoin
Have fun face rolling what little of us shatter mesmers remain with your passive condition spam and 3k toughness. It obviously wasn’t enough that we had to land 3-4+ consecutive mind wrack combos to kill these cheesy builds, because now we have to land it without you simply walking out of our clone range. LOL.

that’ll do us for another 5 months, now go spend some gems on the latest finisher that they’ve been working on instead of balance.
when they can figure out how to sell balance for 800 gems i’m sure they’ll get off their kitten s and attempt to balance their game.

No defensive boons or any way to deal with boons on others
only 1 blind
only 1 combo field
no stealth/teleport/clones/pets or any other fancy stuff.
i play a bunker war in pvp and i cant tell you i don’t need blind, stealth, protection etc…
the passive regen outheals everything anyone can throw in a 1v1, its ridiculous,
if i lose 3k hp to a burst spike, i regen it right back in several seconds.
the only thing that gives me trouble is classes with poison on their auto attacks,
imho the healing reduction is way to powerful to be on an auto attack.
another patch, nothing but tooltip updates, surprise surprise…

This can’t happen.As i told before,this is just for solo queue matches.Lfg system has nothing to do with solo queues.So there is asbolutely no way of abusing the surrender vote.
until an unwritten law comes in “blue team surrender, red win”
and then every game people join, blues surrender, reds win, repeat.
anyone who decides not to surrender gets vote kicked.
games will end within 30 seconds rather than 10 minutes so even if you end up on the blue team 3 times in a row you’ll still net more rewards from the few times you end up on red team.
Dude, there has been so many balancing patches that no matter what happens someone is always too op. Hundred blades, hundred nades, spirit ranger, fear necro, etc etc etc.

i don’t count the “reduced damage of X by 5%” as a balance patch.
i look at whats happening in other games and it makes me wish i’d skipped GW2,
because the combat system here is so good that its ruined all other MMOs but the pvp is seriously lacking and unrewarding, the balance is ridiculous and dev support is none existent.
i look at games like Champions Online (a rather old F2P game) and see their bi-weekly patches and it makes me wonder, what the heck are the Anet devs doing?! do we even have any devs?!

and there’s also a warrior trait that removes blind every weapon swap. + berserk stance? cleansing ire? cc’s? dodge? what u are saying is just l2p issue.
like i said dont bother with them when they have zerker stance up and NOONE uses the blind removal on weapon swap trait, its useless.
i have beat plenty of warriors using black powder and autos/stolen cyclone.
if the warrior moves then either let them leave or go after them and put down another black powder, it has no cooldown and you only need your autos to kill them since thief autos hit like a truck, so you can spam blackpowder repeatedly.
imho poison needs its healing reduction removing completely,
add another more scarce source for healing reduction.
poison is to plentiful to have such a ridiculous effect,
yes lets put -33% healing on multiple classes auto attacks….
in gw1 you had to descide when the best time was to use healing reduction effects,
it added strategy and depth to both sides, in gw2 its just spammed all over the place, you’ll spend more time with poison than without.
last night when i was melting faces with both my axezerker or greatsword zerker builds.

yeah right now there is no contest for executioner for deep crit tree builds
i had high hopes for this with my unload/ricochet/signet of malice build,
but the heal is far too unnoticeable to sacrifice Executioner for
personally i hate skills that deal damage and evade,
defence and offence should be decisions.
skills like PW are offenders of this, why bother using anything else when you can click 3 to deal huge damage, stun your target and evade damage?
plus with the right build Unload can amazing damage, throw in ricochet and signet of malice and it also heals for alot more than healing signet too!
its a single condition skill in a power weapon set, sure it’d be great if it was the p/d dual skill, but not as the d/d skill.

Anet once said about the Skyhammer hate that forum feedback isnt representative of the whole PvP playerbase.
they BS about a lot of things,
the readyup before last “balance philosophy” they said things like:
“warriors can’t get out of a fight easily and don’t have alot of condition removal”
“rangers have the best sustainability and high melee aoe damage”
if thats not proof that they are perfectly happy to BS/(or honestly don’t have a clue about their game) then i dont know what is!
because the leaderboards are Broken.
the huge skyhammer thread that they keep binning all skyhammer hate threads into is testimony that anet dont care anyway.
they’re probably at a state of blissful ignorance now were the moment they see “skyhammer” in a thread title they bin it into the merged thread straight away.
it would be interesting and fit in an RP kinda way (your pet is guarding the area on high alert waiting to pounce on anything that comes near)
and it’d be good to get some counterplay to stealth, but it could completely ruin thieves, making it too easy to counter them
what i find most eye opening is that you’re coming back from a game thats been out a couple of months and noticing the severe balance issues in this game which has had years to level out some form of balance.

you can make a build to make any hard hitting skill look OP,
make a signet+maul ranger build and pop it once every minute for a 1 shot only from behind, only after an interrupt, only at full endurance, does it make maul OP?
nope it makes the build useless except once a minute.

right now the main offenders to balance in pvp are passives procs and AI crutches.
yeah they need to remove spectator and team select,
why did they ever think it was a good idea to let people choose what team to play on…
2v2, team blue is winning? the next person in the match joins the winning team,
now the team that was already winning outnumbers the losing team…
remember when it was 8v8 and there was no spectator or team select?
there was alot less pointless onesided matches and never any half empty matches.
those were the days…

the signet was buried with so many internal cooldowns and limitations that it is in my mind the most useless skill in the game.
imho it needs a rework, ditch the passive but keep the active,
remove the ICD and limitations in the active.
Signet of Vampirism: heals 325 per second, only when being hit.
Healing Signet: heals 362 per second, always, forever.

Don’t forget resistance/ hoelbrak/sunless/antitoxin. On top of that we have food, traits that reduce duration like automated response and diamond skin and traits that reduce non damging conditions.
i’m talking from a pvp perspective so there is no food, and i left out the runes that we don’t have, also those runes all have less effect than Melandru’s 25% so i don’t see why you listed them ;-)
to negate condition damage all you need to do is pop condition removal after the hit.
all you need to do? you have 3 utility slots, one will undoubtedly be for a stunbreaker,
one should be used for some form of stability/invulnerability, so you have one utility slot.
so you expect one condi removal every 30+ seconds is going to do anything in a fight against a class who’d auto attacks spam multiple stacks of conditions on you?
do you sacrifice your stunbreaker and stability? why must we sacrifice everything else just to not melt under a pile of conditions?
Unless you cleanse them/ wear -condition duration.
see above. – condi gear only offers -25% duration max.
and against a class whos autos cause conditions with every hit, you will never slot enough condi cleanses.

2. 8v8 is totally eliminated. Whatever is left of the original player base, though small, is more unified and together (at least hotjoin people will seriously think about 5v5 now)
stopped reading there, removing 8v8 has killed hotjoin,
almost every single match is just a one-sided farce.
5v5 is AWEFUL for hotjoin.
removing 8v8 was the worst change they’ve made in my opinion (i’ve levelled to rank 64 almost entirely in hotjoin since i enjoy the rage free, less serious experience and experimental builds, with far less meta-filth than tournaments.)
and the most stupid part, before they removed it they had both 8v8 and 5v5 servers, so noone was forced to 8v8 if they didn’t want to, but all of the 8v8 servers were always full because guess what? people enjoyed it.
never thought about venom share with NPCs.
so is this actually viable? i really hope not!
theres already enough NPC lameness in pvp!
and when you have 20-30 minute queue times you will all complain about the lack of players, because they’re all in hotjoin with me!
since reviving scales with your healing power and you have a trait that makes it 10% faster too. (and a ton of damage reduction while reviving)

easiest: ranger.
might start playing staff ele again just to drink the tears as you drop a lava font in the clump of turrets

as a PvPer the very last thing i want to see is ANOTHER NPC BUILD.
we’re already suffering the cancer of NPC crutch builds like turret engis and MMs.
what next? guardian spirit weapons and ele elementals?
at what point does PvP become EvE(a bunch of NPCs fighting eachother while the players spam auto attacks)…
Nothing multiplies condition damage, either in a positive or negative direction. This is fine for balance.
thats what duration enhancement does.
when a 1 second burn is turned into a 3 second burn it is essentially multiplying the damage by 200%.
and again its pretty much a one way deal, with rune of melandru being the only rune set that reduces condition duration and only by 25% and you have to sacrifice all other (more useful runes) to use them,
to negate direct damage all you need to do is pop protection or add some toughness to your build.
spec as tanky as you like and eviscerate will hit you for a tiny amount, conditions will always deal full damage.
imho condis need to be made like all other damage, remove the caps but make them effected by armour, toughness and all other damage mitigation.
i play a bunker war in pvp and it is hilarious how fast you can revive people with that build since reviving scales with your healing power and you have a trait that makes it 10% faster too. (and a ton of damage reduction while reviving)
i don’t think the pvp community expected to be receiving dungeon rewards ultimately though. now its just more garbage for my bank, some are nice mind you but i’d rather just pve those.
what players want is real decent unique rewards that you don’t get in pve.
they removed the daily pvp challenge and that resulted in the influx of pvpidontcare-ers who just want the overall daily and now have put in so much crafting garbage that its only slightly better than running a dungeon.
i saved up all of my glory including the booster from the preorder hoping to buy some sweet item at the end of it but found i was locked out by rank from good items, then they decided to remove the system and i lost it all because i didn’t spend it when they asked.
i really hope they do actually have some changes coming to pvp that will make it good again. there were a lot of items in there that you could only buy with glory.
imho the new “reward tracks” are a hell of a lot less rewarding than glory crafting+vendors was,
now we have to put in so much work to get a single piece of dungeon gear, when before it was just 60k glory and some gold for the whole set.
and we lost all of our gold income with the removal of pvp dye crafting.
“reward tracks” are a slap in the face, there is no incentive atall to pvp for a bunch of worthless greens and vendor trash.

No it won’t. All it will do is prevent the leeches from joining the winning team. You will still have unbalanced teams. If you want to fix the “100V500 hotjoin matches” then perhaps you should look more into why there is such a gap.
so you don’t find an issue with a 2v2 with spectators watching all waiting to see who gets the upper hand so that they can turn it into a 3v2 in favour of the already winning group then 4v3 and then a 5v4 always with the winning team having more players?
even innocent people who aren’t camping in spectator mode who join will select the winning team, when its 3v3 and one team is leading most people will join the winning team (i always hit random).
isn’t it obvious to you why there is a gap? the team that was already winning will also always outnumber the losing team.
its insane that team select has stayed in this long.
tbh if you want a challenge as melee play guardian or thief,
warrior is the easiest profession of all 8 to play.they have a very low skill arc but also probably the lowest skill ceiling of all classes,
played 24/7 you can do more by mastering other classes.general rule of thumb:
a bad warrior will beat a good [enter other class].
an excellent [enter other class] will beat an excellent warrior.You probably misspelled a bad warrior kills any other bad" insert class here"
And when skill is equal its about 50/50. Warrior is strong in low and high level tiers.
If warrior was only a “noob killer” class then top teams would not run double warrior.
i stand by what i said, any noob can play warrior and beat good players, but warriors don’t have the mastery levels that ele/engi/thief have.
warrior is the easiest class and with that comes immense power in the lower/medium pvp brackets, but pro egi/theif/eles will have no trouble with warriors.
as the title says, these 2 changes will fix the horrible state of 100V500 hotjoin matches.
there really is nothing more to say, anyone who plays hotjoins knows that this is a necessity.
this is one of the reasons i hate meta warriors who use the excuse of Cleansing Ire+Adrenal Health being mandatory.

i play a full glass greatsword zerker (with not a single trait point in the defence tree)in pvp and have great success with it, but if i start losing the fight then zooooooom i’m instantly out to regen!
though i agree it is a bit bizarre that one of the classes with the highest healthpool, armour and defensive passives and skills also has the fastest mobility, warrior is usually the slow moving tank/brute class
that would be great, ranger is really bad for aoe.
against a group Thieves and Warriors will deal so much more damage than the “bow master” class.
the only problem is figuring where to put it, i’d sacrifice a utility slot for it, but longbow traits are already too mandatory, they need to merge some together before adding more.
