the lawless items on the gemstore make for pretty great heavy armour on light.
other than that some of the dungeon sets look pretty metal.
pretty much like super evil versions of the Exalted you meet in HoT
1. remove skyhammer from unranked.
2. buff lords in foefire to compensate for years of power creep.
3. Remove skyhammer from unranked.
4. reintroduce the 8v8 we had early on in the game.
5. REMOVE SKYHAMMER FROM UNRANKED.

it seems like the 2 best options atm are either stick with my traits and throw Manta of Pain in there (which would be pretty good since i am using the mantra trait already for the heal)
or sacrifice one of the phantasm improving traitlines and take chrono so i can have faster recharge on scepter 3.
for now i’ll try rolling with mantra since it seems to fit my build most, but chrono does seem very appealing (if i decide to shatter more!)

scepter 3 does hit hard indeed, but after that you’re left jumping around with nothing to do (except weak autos) until you can summon your offhand phantasm or switch back to greatsword.
we need a dedicated MH power weapon, so we can atleast auto attack in between the weapon swaps.
i get that not all builds are either power or condi, but for a phantasm build you’re pretty heavily invested in power, if i spec into more condi damage my phantasms will be doing far less damage, undermining the whole point of speccing phantasms.

This is kinda a huge deal that doesn’t seem to be getting talked about!
if you use a power build you’ll be having a blast with greatsword, but then when you switch weapon…you don’t have any other ranged power weapon! :O
we have several decent power offhands, but the only power based main-hand is sword (which is melee) i don’t know about you guys but i don’t want to be taking my 15k hp zerker mesmer into melee XD
scepter has a single decent skill for power builds (3)
staff phantasm deals nice enough damage (but every other skill is condi)
so what are people using for power weapon besides GS?
what would people like to see? (p/p mesmer?!)
its a problem with power creep, the characters are now twice (or perhaps 3 times) stronger than they were at release, yet the lords remain the same.
they should give the lords an overhaul (and svanir/chieftain too),
make going for lord be a team effort again.
imho toughness should be the condition that reduces ALL damage,
(surely someone with “toughness” has learnt to tolerate poisons and debilitating effects)

blood reckoning’s healing effect should be a passive, effect,
activating it should trigger the other effects (but not disable the healing effect)

my favourite part of GW1 was alliance battles and fort aspenwood,
both became graveyards unfortunately so GW1 doesn’t have the appeal it used to.

if you’re losing to a DH that’s using 3 or 4 traps on his bar, it really is a L2P issue.
yeah, how are people having trouble counterplaying invisible traps waiting to deal 100%-dead unblockable dmg in 2 seconds combined with daze, slow, immobilize and knockdown?

why are people trying to play down the sheer ridiculously OP nature of DH traps?
i was having stress instantly exploding last week so today i decided to make my own DH trapper, ITS HILARIOUS! things just explode.
infact that is what i’ve named my DH, “Things Just Explode” and true to their name, thats what things have been doing every game i’ve played them.
i’m running them full zerker with a puny 11k hp, but it doesn’t matter because nothing gets near you…
TL;DR yes DH traps are in need of a nerf, the ability to leave them anywhere to oneshot someone from across the map is not healthy…

i do miss pet growth from GW1
you started off by taming a juvenile, and it would grow and grow each level
the stats also changed dependig o how you raised it, if you made it attack a lot it would get more offensive stats etc
it was a really great system

war? GS/hammer/dual axes zerker
engi? SD, sometimes turrets!
necro? dagger+wells zerker.
mesmer? phantasm zerker.
guard? burns.
thief? P/P zerker or vault spammer.
ranger? rabid trapper.
ele? staff zerker.
meta?
i think the only metas i pay is condi reaper, and even that i spec completely offensively.
inconsistency:
Ancient Seeds doesn’t proc from spike trap’s knockdown.
probably a balance thing, but still inconsistent, if X immobilizes targets that you strike while knocked down, i expect to immobilize a target that is knocked down.

i actually want a small buff for ancient seed, i want it to proc when the target is damaged while knocked down by Spike Trap, at first i thought it was a bug, but i guess it was a balance decision.
i’d like it to be jormag, but i’d expect it to be Kralkatorrik for a couple of reasons:
1. the crystal desert seems like an obvious choice for the next expansion location
(and thats where kralkatorrik is)
2. HOT SPOILER—-glint’s egg played a big part this expansion and glint was Kralkatorrik’s champion.
the one you get from reaper specialization is pretty much perfect imho

for any build with offhand pistol it gives you access to stealth on demand through Black powder and Bound
this gives P/P thieves some nice survival and its especially tasty on s/p builds based around Pistol Whip since the stun can also trigger Impacting Disruption
i’ve incorporated Bound into my P/P pvp marauder build too, the 10% bonus damage and steath on demand is AWESOME
(especially when you’re specced for all out damage with very little utility)
In fairness, Liewec, having light armour on a heavy type (or vice versa) would mean different stats.
oh yeah i should have been more clear, i was just on about skins, making the actual armour wearable would cause balancing issues
weight classes
originally the answer that they kept using was something along the lines of “we don’t want to have light armour characters looking like they’re heavily armoured and vice versa”
sure, it made sense, until they started churning out outfits like this and this
now-a-days there is no real reason why we can’t just use all skins,
clipping
sometimes they use the “clipping” excuse, but i could make a character using currently ingame armour and make the ultimate clipping character.
most of us won’t care about slight clipping, and those that do aren’t forced to use pieces that clip.
in reality there is no real reason anymore, other than “boy, that sounds like a lot of work for us to do!”
sure it sucks that we lost ricochet, but now we deal a ton more damage to single targets with our 3 3 3 spam
i still play my P/P thief every time i log in for a night of pvp dropping 20k damage on people in several seconds simply by clicking 3 twice is nothing to complain about!
its no accident that an account bound unlimited salvage kit is rereleased shortly after account bag slots are released. $$$
i played the other night and found most games were fun, but yes, the only thing annoying me was instantly exploding in fights verses DHs…
i fought scrappers, reapers, pretty much everything and won some, lost some,
but when “that one guy” is spamming node-wide CC-heavy oneshots what is the point of even trying to fight for that node?
some matches had several of these MLG360NoScope clones, and it was just dull to try and fight them.
so yeah i noticed the DH problem too

There is no objective appreciation of value. You can’t objectively say that Skyhammer is worse, because we’re just playing a game here. With the weighted roll, Skyhammer’s chances of being played is exactly proportional to its value, since value is only the measure of the number of players wanting to play it compared to those who don’t. Maybe you think your opinion is more valuable somehow? Well it’s not, sorry. Get over yourself.

because for a year and a half thousands of us were voicing our hatred for suckhammer, but everyone gave up when it became clear that Anet didn’t care what we thought.

i play glass builds in pvp, and for me the best times are when you get the drop on the enemies and melt everything, those are the most fun moments
