Actually, Greater Marks might really be bugged. Our #3 is already a 240 radius mark without Greater Marks, hence why it is the only one that appears larger, but if it is already 240 then Greater Marks should make it larger too but it doesn’t.
I hate staring at the ground all the time. For the first couple months, every time I played The Maw world event in Wayfarer Foothills, I didn’t even know there were things going on up in the sky! Then I was approaching it one day from a distance and was like “WOAH! I didn’t know that was happening all this time!”, and realized that my camera was making me stare at the ground ALL THE TIME.
+1 for more control over my playstyle
$100 on a 5 cent slot machine isn’t worth it… Why do you guys keep doing this? Don’t you understand what a lottery is?
At the end of every single lottery advertisement, in the U.S. at least, it says:
“Lottery games are based on chance, should be played for entertainment only and should not be played for investment purposes.” – they should add this to the description tag on the keys and chests.
Stop assuming you’ll ‘win’ every time.
Maybe I don’t want to spend the considerable amount of time attempting to make my own and just want to use that time to save up money to purchase one.
You kill things. If your focus is just on obtaining the money then stop salvaging things and sell them on the TP if they are worth it and merchant them if they are not.
Sometimes there is a software package running that does this on many laptops, however if it is in your bios, watch this video for disabling the action keys on your HP laptop:

Sorry, I couldn’t find a better one…
It takes forever to load into ANY other zone, but the Grove where everyone in the game is just refuses to let me in and crashes to desktop every single time.
Apparently I’m the only one since this topic hasn’t showed itself anywhere else so I’ll just wait till later to play (since all my characters are now locked down on a loading screen).
Three and a half hours after the event and I still crash to desktop when trying to load into the Grove. I don’t have anymore character slots left so I can’t play at all.
Would be nice if when they turn invulnerable that they couldn’t hit us either, kinda makes them OP if they can attack us but we can’t attack them.
No, sigil of fire is target centered but if you don’t have a target selected, I’m not sure where the blast comes from – most AOE that you click and don’t have a target will center on you.

Currency shouldn’t go in the collectibles tab, it should have its own section like they did with the event collectibles. IF there’s a use for it, remember stacks are still(it’s nearly 2013) 250…
I sell mine for 40s, get them from The Maw chest event in Wayfarer Foothills with my level 30-40 characters with a near 100% drop rate from the chest between those levels.
Well if you want to adjust the market – or just make a handful of cash -, in Wayfarer Foothills(Norn starting area) The Maw chest event gives Silver Doubloons for players level ~30-40. I get one every time on my level 34, my level 80 gets a t5 gem/shard/whatever.
If anyone is looking for Silver Doubloons, they are coming from The Maw chest event in Wayfarers Foothill(Norn starting area), just use a mid level character (I’m 34 and got 3 in the last 3 runs), my 80 doing the same event gets level 65 gems instead.
Well, your system ram is quite low if you, and I think it’s a typo, really do have a video card with 3gb of ram on it. The addressing space for your graphics card goes into system ram so your system probably is only getting to use about 2gb of that ram.
From a quick google search the gt610 is a budget model with lower than expected performance.
From what you say about big scene loads, it is clear to me that you simply don’t have enough ram in the first place as it has to swap out a lot of things to the system cache instead of keeping it in memory.
In conclusion and for your future gaming enjoyment, I would suggest investing in a new computer. If that isn’t an option, go in this order:
System ram (8gb + 64bit operating system)
Graphics card (invest in something non-budget, it’ll last longer)
Processor (2.8ghz dual core is recommended for this game, might have to upgrade your motherboard for this one though)
SSD (after all those have been taken care of.)
Disregard the above, just looked at the dxdiag and found your system on the net.
After looking at the dxdiag, you have an under-performing system. Your graphics card has 2gb of ram with an additional gb of shared (meaning it is using system ram for that extra gb)
With that 32bit OS you only get to use 3gb of ram so you’ll have to buy a 64bit version to go any higher.
Since it is also a compaq you don’t have any upgrade options other than to buy a new computer.
With the limited amount of ram you have and since you only have one drive, you are swapping out assets frequently enough that it is causing a bottleneck to develop on your hard drive, thus reducing performance to a noticeable level.
It also looks like you slightly upgraded it to a new hard drive and windows 7 and added the gt610.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883109032
From the specs of the computer, you can’t really upgrade it any further (1gb of ram that you can’t really use with a 32bit OS).
Save up some money and get yourself a new computer.
Small performance increases can be had by reducing the amount of things that start up with your computer (all those icons near the system tray are useless in most cases and wasting resources), and just using one application at a time. Defrag. If you don’t already have a good one, http://www.piriform.com/products has a free one that’s decent, grab ccleaner too and search for ccenhancer. Those will clean and defrag your system unless you already do that like a good gamer should.
Well, this is the ‘legendary’ part of the weapons Without the lodestones these weapons would be too easy to acquire.
Can we start deleting the ‘bots are back’ posts… They’re completely redundant and unnecessary. You cannot remove all the bots, it’s a for-profit business model that works in all MMO type games with player trade and naive players.
Couldn’t get them to do it with GW1, probably wont get it here either but I can’t stand things like this. I want to watch the action and see if anyone is coming to my rescue.
+1
It’s a mac so all of that stuff is probably inside of a .dmg file or the other compressed volume folder type it uses. You can open those files and look inside just like working with a .zip file, somewhere in there will be the gw2cache folder you can empty.
Closest you can get is Ctrl-Shift-H
At this point in the life-cycle of the game the customization is rather low and limited.
Oh don’t worry, they wont come up with a different way to spend Karma, they like adding new currencies instead – there’s 10 different currencies in this game already so you can spend it freely or save it up, it’s up to you
That’s a browser interface, make sure that gw2 and all associated parts of it can go through your firewall — turn off your firewall and see if it works, might have to give permission for gw2 to access the internet more than once or even some other processes permission.
I’ve never encountered this, it’s always blank when I start from scratch. Sometimes when I right click and email it is still blank.
Perhaps you have that person selected?
My post on this issue got lost really fast, but yeah there are way too many currencies at this point and they’ll probably add more as well…

I play a necro and go dd/staff and I gotta say that dagger #1 being the only melee skill is a complete WTF moment for me. I mean it only synergizes with the warhorn banshee wail or whatever because of the crappy distance on it.
Don’t get me wrong, I love jumping into the fray and slashing away with my main-hand dagger, but #1 is the only necro skill that I use that needs me to be in the ‘Squishy warning zone’. All the other skills I can stay quite a distance back like I’m supposed to.
Some of my magical weapons cause bleeding but the ones that actually have a blade dont? Always thought that was weird.
It wouldn’t matter, his CPU isn’t fast enough to do GW2 any better. Even if he could change the GPU on his laptop, it’d just be like a really awesome interactive slideshow.
So, overclock that sucker to the minimum recommended specs if you can, that’s your only option except to buy another computer.
We fought like crazy to get them to give us update notes in the beginning of GW1, we got them and finally didn’t have to waste hours experimenting to figure out what they did.
Now if they can just go that extra step further and add a little bit more transparency like other game companies, that would be great.
But what details should be on the notes? should we be informed about all of the myriad bitwise operators that they may have had to reconfigure to smash a bug or do they just tell us the bug was smashed?
- Changed line 1002342243 conditional from ‘or’ to ‘and’.
- Changed line 1002324454 to include curly bracket that was missing causing class file to fail to initiate on load.
Or just dump the text difference list for the code files?
Oh, don’t forget, they have to translate that into several different languages before they publish it too.
Adding more work for the devs and designers at this point just so you can be confident that they didn’t change anything about the Necro class again is a huge waste of their time honestly.
Out of curiosity, I would love to have their bug tracking system report and watch it change over time. Watch as things get checked off that have nothing to do with my Necro
jk Anet, I know you’re working your * off and I see the changes. I’m patient.
lol but it doesn’t since they rarely use words.
It will also bite you if you are the only one in the zone talking and you’re simply broadcasting large events to people that ‘might’ be in the zone.
As a Steam user myself I would love to see Guild Wars 2 on Steam, just for the simplicity of managing my game collection. However, GW2 is easy enough to get, doesn’t come with some crappy DRM that wants to know my life story, I can play it on every computer, it keeps itself up-to-date. This hassle-free game doesn’t need a distribution system. The Steam overlay works fine, just set up a non-Steam game in Steam and go for it.
Guild Warsville 2.
You know your guild leader is going to have to max out his WvW achievements and save up a million or so of the badges to get a Guild Hall Token right? LOL
And a chest that will give you a house key which will be character bound after completing all the personal story and faction lines.
Also farming all those seeds for your gardener to use.
Carpenter profession will reduce all the wood resources quite effectively though.
How about a storefront with your own dolyak escort missions.
Just kidding with all that
There’s an unidentified village with many NPC’s in it near some of the giant badger creatures (forgot their name) close to a dredge location with a couple other hearts in the area.
The heart in that little village requests that you ‘impress the villagers’ and help the wandering hunters. The Chef is near the fire pit.
Just logged in, it’s west of Lornar’s waypoint between Molengrad and Lornar’s Gate, there are 2 hearts near the POI.
See attached map.
Unfortunately they’ve got a few incorrect parameters in the code which is why they die so fast and it keeps ticking away at non-existent health after it’s already gone. In other words, someone screwed up the math.
The only problem I have with Charge is when he’s attacking something and you hit Charge and it doesn’t knockdown or interrupt at all, he just runs away really fast.
It’s bugged on Maguuma server, sent a report today.
Well unfortunately it looks like the Alpine Stalker babies are Juvenile Lynx’s, was wondering myself where I could find a striped tiger.
This is like saying that even though I have been to every city in the real world, because I haven’t been to heaven yet I can’t complete my world mapping achievement.
The Mists are not part of the world, they are a conduit between the worlds with some construct areas for beating the hell out of each other for the amusement of the gods.
Separate the pve, pvp, and wvw to their own achievement categories. Mapping of the world should be limited to the tangible world (including Southsun cove).
I would personally rather see a bacon filter but I hear some people prefer fuzzy little creatures than epic foodstuffs, to each their own I guess.
There’s no quick toolbar for things like that on the interface, I have to find it in my inventory and go from there.
Most players should be aware of them, you’re introduced to them at random points in the game, it’s just bothersome to find what you’re looking for on the TP or crafting, then find it in your inventory when you want to use it or when it runs out (there’s no auto-eat when it runs out either).
GW2 has very little in the way of quality of life standards that other MMO’s have had for nearly a decade. I mean it takes community uproar just to get a simple adjustment to the crafting interface to make it less tedious to do simple things.
Maybe in a few years we’ll have some of the QoL stuff that should be there anyway.
You’re probably better off with a master salvage or higher if they can be. At least a chance to get an ecto or something more valuable.
I did it on a necro solo, then showed about a dozen more people how to do it quickly by jumping the gate instead of fighting the entire area to open it.
Higher level zones are all about observation and being aware of your environment. If you are over-aggroing then you need to pay attention more to where you’re moving and how big the aggro radius is for the enemy.
Wish it would ask me as soon as the first message pops up that tells me I’m in an overflow if I would like to be in the queue or stay in the overflow.
The first one simply tells you that you got put into overflow, all consecutive messages have the buttons.
This would alleviate this problem at least, a little quality of life improvement.
Yeah, I ran into that problem when I was 72 and hit Frostgorge Sound, there was a merchant selling level 80 recipes so I bought them all. After I had all of them consuming space in my inventory, I tried to ‘read’ one and BAM! you’re not good enough yet…
So for 8 levels I had to hold onto them because selling them back was a waste of nearly 1g and they were soulbound at the time so I couldn’t even TP them.
Thought I’d put this up here, this is 30 minutes of playtime in Orr, unfortunately there weren’t any other players there so “bandwidth may vary”.
First one is in bits/second
Second one is bytes/second
Bandwidth is calculated with 1024, not 1000 like hard drives.

You can still get leveled items, but apparently the base rewards are really bad for lower level areas.
At 80 in a level 1-15 zone I was getting 243 Karma and 1s20c for my efforts in DE’s, but now it’s kind of odd. Sometimes I get 155 karma, sometimes it’s 143, sometimes I get 72c and sometimes it’s lower.
But after 1 chain of 5 events (same event chain) it starts going down and by the end I can’t do any more events in that zone because all I get is exp, which seems to have been increased by a very large amount.
Yes, he has pathing problems and will regen because of it. You can’t really solo that boss. He’s even difficult to do with 2 players because of that.
As a staff necro I can make him follow me around the pillar while laying down marks for an hour, but the moment someone else jumps in to ‘help’ me it all goes haywire after that player inexplicably gets killed, it loses interest in me, and regens.
Real world cash – Um, you’re going to have to trade those for a disproportionate amount of Gems.
Gems – I’m sorry, the Black Lion doesn’t like cash, it’s too versatile.
Coins (gold, silver, copper) – I like coins, I collect them like an OCD kleptomaniac!
Karma – I have enough bad luck being stuck out here in the middle of nowhere, I need as much good karma as I can get!
Influence – I was an adventurer like you, well, long story short, I need as much influence as possible so the Lion Guard will forgive my transgressions.
Glory – You think you’re good huh? Well then it wont be too hard earning that glory again!
Skill Points – Hi, I’m Miyani, Zomorros’ broker. He has requested that I only accept your skill. In exchange, if your skill is good enough, he’ll give you something in exchange for your shinies.
Dungeon tokens – Because I live here amongst the beasts and they let me live if I don’t warn people of what to expect in there.
WvW tokens – Your real world currencies don’t work here in the mists, silly bookah.
Fractal Relics – These are specially designed to withstand the ever changing state of the fractal realms.
For those not counting, that’s 10 (ten) currencies that exist for this game. Did I miss any?
So, Anet, when is it enough? When can I expect my friendly neighborhood banker to be able to convert my currencies?
I was fully expecting that Anet would create a different currency for each of the races with a handy exchange rate to more mimic a real economy but that didn’t happen.
Well, it’s too late for that to happen now, but why so many different currencies? Is that really how you intend on balancing and controlling the economy? Make certain rewards untradeable so after I’ve received mine, I have to delete/merchant any additional ones so that others absolutely have to grind to get their random reward?
Why can’t my effort be enough to get a worthy reward? Why do I have to farm my —- off while fighting to keep the DR monster(diminishing returns) away the way you chose to reward me for my effort? I can’t farm these currencies because you wont let me anymore. Heck, I can’t even play the way I like to play because I get punished for it. Are the rewards time based? DR is a horrible thing to put in a game, it discourages people from playing and being in areas they enjoy. RNG (random number generator) is the absolute simplest way to choose a reward, but it in no way is a good system. You already have the servers on a processing cluster so why not have a nice AI system to choose my rewards or at least a genetic algorithm.
Anyway, I don’t have a suggestion for how to stop you from creating dozens more currencies for each new expansion or dungeon. All I can do is ask that you stop introducing more unnecessary currencies into a game that is already hard enough to achieve basic things in.
I’ve never gotten a jewelry drop, had to do the karma vendors to get my stuff until I could craft it myself. Finally starting to be able to craft my exotic stuff but the ectos are slowing me down quite a bit. I don’t like to buy off the TP if I don’t have to so it takes me a little longer but I have the patience so it’s ok.
Tried to introduce my friend to the fractals cause I told her they were really fun. Got 3 groups of, well, to be honest they sucked. On top of the groups it was just a level 1 run. Well the very first one was the bugged Charr seige one… great. Instant restart cause we can’t untransform… Might not have been that big of an issue if the very next one didn’t require us to pick up the torches for the Svanir level – I like that level btw. Upon restart we get to go for the Colossus level with the hammer. So the group makes it to the chest piece and wipes, the all leave. nice.
The Charr seige one needs to be taken out until the transforms are fixed, don’t leave broken levels in the game wtf are you thinking?
I don’t know if I like the colossus one, only got half way up.
I like the snowstorm one, swamp one(yeah I’m that guy), and the golem one. Haven’t seen too many of the zones but those are the ones I like.
But because of this my friend is completely turned off to the idea of doing fractals. The experience was definitely not fun. She had no idea that certain mobs just infinitely spawn, I had to tell her to stop fighting or she would have stood there fighting them the whole time.
The information might have been there at the beginning with whoever’s lab it is but there are like 10 other npc’s there too and the only ones anyone seems to see is the golem merchants instead of the information npc’s. I don’t know if the information npc actually tells you anything of use like “There are infinitely spawning enemies in here, just follow the targets listed” or “Environmental effects will kill you occasionally” or “They’re ALL VETERANS, beware”.
And what’s up with the excruciatingly loud yelling he does? I’m not sure if I’ve ever actually understood or paid attention to what he says.
