Win or lose, you are a hero among heroes.
Thanks for sharing!. Good timing on the last day.
Universal popularity???……That’s a terrible fractal that takes freaking forever. Nobody likes it.
That’s the joke.
I have to be honest and say that part of the reason I insist on voting for Kiel (not that I wasn’t anyway) is because of the condescending attitude of some GW1 veterans and their insistence that we should all be interested in the same things that they are.
As a GW1 vet myself, it is not necessarily that I feel like that and I can see how some fellow vets do act that way. Indeed GW belongs to all its fans, not just the old ones.
But I’ve I have been following Anet long enough(2005) to get a sense of how they produce content. I can tell one fractal is going to copy-paste old enemies and reuse an old map. The other one by nature would need an entirely new setting and new enemies.
I just want to see new stuff, personally.

Counterpoint:
Finally! I finally beat the Tier 4 with my warrior! Here is a video from my live stream with my best friend and nerd soul-mate:

Great job. You were so happy! xD
What was your gear/traits like?
I think it needs to be a rule that Anet has to actually complete any content they release.
There are a lot of hints about a 6th, still asleep elder dragon named Mordremoth. He is also referred to as the jungle dragon.
Ah yes, I remember that from Crucible now.
There is no jungle dragon. Do you mean Tequatl?
If it rises, I’ll be pretty sad cause I sold like 6 of ’em. xD
I get your viewpoint. But as an Evon voter and since 2005 GW player, I personally wouldn’t want both fractals. This whole experiment is interesting and it kind of ruins the point of it if they just do both. I agree that it is disappointing though. That is a significant con to this idea. But it was also cool to have a say in what content gets made.
Personally, after this I want to see them start opening up the other named areas on the map. I am not sure what they were thinking when they just pulled something right out of the Ocean(Southsun).
Not true, I saw Evon fighting.
>.>
<.<
Kiel too. -__-
Shadow Behemoth with like 5 people is actually one of the funnest bosses in the game.
Too bad that’s never happening again. Ever.
I like the mechanics of that fractal. They just need to cut out like half the mobs xD
The Shadow Behemoth uses chaos energy. There is a chaos rift in the Thaumanova reactor. We could be fighting anything.
That’s possible but then we are probably looking at Aatxes and Shadow Fiends. Still not new enemies.
Now I am going to make a Greatsword Warrior tank build exclusively to troll thieves.
They not voting Kiel because she’s human.
They are voting her because she’s more liked.
Evon represents the Black Lion company and all the bad things it does, like supporting the consortium, selling ‘gasha’ balls in the form of those RNG chests, not letting you recreate items no longer in the store after you bought them, selling skins and clothes as perishable items instead as unlocks…
Smart people do not like to be scammed with that kind of stuff, and Guild Wars 2 has lots of smart players, so its only natural Kiel is winning.
You are going to be pretty bummed when that stuff doesn’t go away.
I think it would be smart to want Anet to use their money to produce new artwork and animation rather than copy-paste enemies and map assets that they built back in 2010.
PS – Anet will make money either way. They should at least have to spend it on their developers than to just hand over the windfall to management and shareholders.

Actually, this would be pre-GW1 UW where we have the 7 Reapers (and Grenth) taking down Dhuum.
That’s right. They would have an excuse to totally revamp the area.
Edit – I meant with GW2 graphics and art design.
I want the Fall of Dhuum fractal (rise of Grenth).
To see the GW2 interpretation of UW would rock so hard.
In my opinion, Kiel is the best choice for ALL players.
Not all players care about the Gem store.
Not all players care about a Guild Wars 1 lore event we already know all about.
What about new maps and enemies? What makes a game?
Unlike lazily watching some non-god NPC magically defeating a god. And somehow absorbing it’s power to become a God.
For the billionth time. This is not the fight that had Kormir in the Realm of Torment. This is the battle that happened 1000 years earlier that turned the Crystal Sea into the Crystal Desert.
Say no to golem grinding! Vote Gnashblade!
We also know the dragons are related to the gods in some way. So as the dragon story gets expanded on, we will probably learn more as that link is explained.
I wouldn’t expect anything until well into 2014, perhaps 2015.
This fractal alone won’t likely come out until the end of this year.
I am sure we will eventually. We’ll just be grinding through golems in the meantime.
All my votes for the next two days go to Evon.
Push for it. Go Gnashblade!
It’s not allowed in WvW or sPvP.
Also to be clear, the recipe is exotic and tradeable, but the output of said recipe is not.
Why not tradeable? I think need more tradeable commodities in the market. Food and potions being a bit stagnant for some time.
Hopefully just an over-sight. Thanks for pointing it out.
I heard that nothing ever goes wrong with killer robots.
I’d likely solo queue on team queue, if I don’t have a team at the time. At least then you can get team, rather then dealing with the mindless masses that will be solo queueing.
It might be a good way to meet people. We can usually get a pug on our mumble within a minute if they already have it installed.
You can pretty much forget it if you’re having a hard time getting 5 together now, it’s going to be much harder when soloboards are in. The competition will be stronger and people will have less reason to seek a team anyway. Hopefully you enjoy soloque.
Well, I enjoy pvping with my guildies on my team. It would be great to always have 5, but I think most who are in a guild realize that is not doable at times.
Bringing someone from solo queue would defeat the entire purpose of solo queue.
Ok, but does that mean it will be impossible to que with 4 people? I am asking a question. I think this is a legitimate concern for many teams. How often have you been in that spot where you just needed one…more…person?
How will team arenas handle these situations? Often when our guild forms a team, we are short one person. Will the game bring someone over from solo que? Or will we be forced to que with 2 or 3 people if we want for 5?
It’s probably going to be ridiculously over-crowded for the duration of the event. I hope it is permanent so people can visit it later in a playable state.
Before you assume that you won’t be fighting horses of monsters or face difficult challenges, I urge you to try the content when it releases. Just because its a festival doesn’t mean we’re telling the same story or using the same type of content.
OK but it is time to probably stop having festivals. I mean we are coming up on Halloween again shortly.
Where in that text is it confirmed its Rox? Still think it looks like a centaur. Maybe this storyline will have some progression on the Human/Centaur war front.
Oh it’s Rox unfortunately. Art fail.
What is WRONG with those horns?! Tell me, how could that Charr be physically possible? He’s facing perfectly to the left, showing his profile. That means his right side horns are roughly a foot further forward than the left ones?
The loading screens have all been a little hurf-blurf since Kekai Kotaki left. Anet needs to bring him back, and Daniel Dociu for landscapes AND Horia Dociu for those sweet cutcenes. Sigh… so much talent drained.
Good artists have high value.
The arena they built on the Great Collapse looks neat. I am kinda sad to see it gone though. If felt like the npcs around there were foreshadowing a cool/creepy story regarding the event.
I still want to see the crypts below Divinities Reach as described in the first novel.
Look at that! https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/august-06-2013/
:)
Wow that got out early. Can’t wait.
A lot of great points here.
I would like to add that these events, while being for the GW2 community, are also meant to reach out to the gaming community in general. There is an opportunity to advertise this game and bring people in, thereby growing and strengthening our player base.
That said, full teams of Asuras do not necessarily represent the game accurately. Variety of player races is a strength of GW2.
Maybe instead of banning Asuras from future tourneys, we can mandate that there be one of each of the 5 races present on the team?
(edited by Lucky.9421)
Great work. What build/gear make-up was your team? I assume Guardian was DPS?
Edit – I also notice you guys were blind/weakness spamming like crazy. How was this done?
(edited by Lucky.9421)
Canach seemed like an alright fellow. :|
You can get 2 points towards the achievement per day if you do both pvp/pve dailies. So both Evon and Kiel can be maxed in 3 days.
Just make sure you are repping when the daily triggers!
There are 9 currently. With the next update there will be 12. That is decent variety and you don’t need to do fractals every night if you are a PVE only player. There are still dungeons and world events.
I do think we need a new zone though. A PROPER new zone that compares to the ones that came out at release. Not like Southsun. :p
Just like with real life, too much polling can get annoying. Maybe one more poll this Friday but no more.
EBG just went down. Everyone was booted out. Sentries all went neutral too, but not Keeps it seems.
If a game about surviving rewards you with less points for playing smart and more for being reckless and dying early and often, isn’t that kind of askew?
I agree you should get bonus points based on how many others were alive when you died. That would reward both cautious and aggressive players in a fair way.
We did our first guild puzzle last week and will be doing another this weekend. We have been working on Cutthroat Politics achievements as a guild too.
Uh-oh what have I done!
Says the employee that, last i checked, was responsible for game balance. You will have sole blame if Evon is victorious.
Izzy works on the loot system now.
