(edited by Luke.4562)
I understand that this is an hard period for Rangers, but this bug is extremely annoying.
Seeing every time -the most often under water- the dead pet ressing his master is a really boring thing.
Even by re killing the pet, the Ranger gets huge healings. It’s impossible to burst him down.
Hope Anet will take care of this bug.
But all I am saying it is a lot easier to contribute in solo q since the patch. Too easy perhaps.
It’s easier ’cause necros were under par.
Now necros can contribute as effectively as other classes like mesmers, guardians and eles, thieves, etc.Necros now can (not in a single build):
-put as much condi pressure as engies.
-burst as much fast as thieves with same survivability
-do as much AoE damage as mesmersNecros have better Fears than anyone else, but this is natural. We were going to be the only class with fear in the beginning.
Remember necros have the longest casting times. What are ppl doing while necro is casting all their spells?
Running in fear from the rest necros in enemy team
necros have just 1 targeted fear, and you have to be melee range to be more effective than before patch. You have to be in DS, so you have to build LF beforehand.
also, have 2 ground targeted fears, so when you see a necro with a staff, get ready to dodge. It’s easier to not walk into the wall than dodge the mark, but whatever.
learn animations of spectral wall and mark of doom. Good luck with asura necros though.Ppl need to cry less and l2p more.
I main a necro and I’m not immune to fears from other necros, but you don’t see me crying my eyes out for nerfs.
That may be cuz i’ve never seen any1 crying to nerf his main class. Anyway stop with this stupid “l2p”. We all know that necros and mesmers are OP this patch it’s just the ones who have use of it blame the rest that they can’t play. Problem with ppl is they support what they like and it’s just a game so focus on everything and help the devs with feedback so the game will be balanced and enjoyable for every1. And yes once again Necros are OP now, there are many things that are not right and need to be touched, modified and we will complain as long as they are being left like that. I’m paying for that service and i want to have the best experience. Lot of ppl do and if they don’t change that a lot of us will stop using the service -> stop paying. And they can balance the game it just needs lot of tests and time. It won’t be 100% balance but at least the difference wont be that big. I’m not crying for my main, i’m crying for all the classes, i want balance – to play warrior, guardian. ranger, thief, mesmer, necro, engineer, elementalist and be able to fight on an equal level with each of it.
Thieves and Mesmers are still OP, Warriors have ever been OP (just the fact that conditions became emproved lately and the fact people start to understand on how to counter them make people think they’re weak…:S), but people forgot it..
We as Necromancer players sucked and had hard times for 10 months since now (we are paying too) and now that we have some fun, people starts claiming weird things.
If you claim some balance, ask nerfs for classes which run full Berserk, bishot players and have more surv than a Necromancer.
Wake up please.
@Myrmidian Eudoros: Necromancers could stunlock even before the patch, a lot of Pvp powerbuilds, since October 2012 were running with Golem Charge + Doom + Wail of Doom. Condimancer could do that amount of damage even before the patch, the damaging Doom was something implemented long ago.
People forget old times in which Warriors were used to bishot Necromancers (or whatever walking thing without any escape CD), and now they fail to see that Thiefes and Mesmers are still more OP than Necromancers.
Please, put a base cap for Rated Matches, it’s not possible seeing people under lv 20 repeatedly joining alone and hindering the whole team. Thanks.
Whatever the matchmaker system needs work too..
Oh yeah, it does, 5% crit chance states it can crit, but it simply doesn’t at any useful frequency.
Putrid Explosion doesn’t crit.
Dhuumfire is thrash, it procs only on 1 target every 20 seconds, even if the crit does proc on an aoe spell on more targets. It shouldn’t be on Grandmaster.
Over the fact that Guardians have special blue burn effects and our flame is a traditional flame.
Anet isn’t even testing his own new scripts before the release
They keep it ready for the 2015 update, they won’t sell easily what the community want.
You’re taking rubbish for “pretty nice”.
A pretty nice thing would be a total redesign of minions and their mechanics.
Now Anet is trying to boost the morale of poor and hungry necromancers throwing free cold leftovers.
It’s ridicle.
Over the fact that they give updates which aren’t working properly.
Which is ridicle twice.
I guess what they are going to do: try to fix these NEW bugs in the next 6 months, taking time to avoid the negative feedback from customers, which is what they should get asap to understand that their method is ruinous.
(and i add that your fanboy campaign is promoting their ruinous method)
(edited by Luke.4562)
Necromancer, lord of conditions, better boosting lackluster power based builds.
Wake up.
They added the update note on the Patch Note, but they didn’t even worked the script for it, better taking time and fixing it in the next 2014 patch.
Ranger longbow, they have no ideas after 10+ months, so they copy from other classes.
Wake up, the updates aren’t that gamebreaker and the Necromancer is lacking a smart and nice design since September 2012 (10 months) without considering the beta.
They don’t deserve all this love. They actually are skipping work (and by the way getting money on it) serving you cold meals..
Wake up…

I played human, and come on, the story was really awful boring and not entertaining, the screenplay should have been written by some kind of kid wich read too many immature mangas…
The design… The design of the most of armors and some races (Silvari) is just awful, disappointing.
They come from a poor mind, they’re lacking fantasy, they’re even less appreciable of any standard fantasy-world dresses. Even Ettins dressed with human bones and leather strips look more cool than whatever dress for your character.
On more than 10-about late game sets there are 1 and half which are vaguely interesting.
Guild Wars 1 was visually 100 times better than this, and got out in 2005.
It’s like when we say that the more our tecnhology can do, the less inspiration people put in while utilizing it. The result is always disappointing.
What does one expect from a fantasy game it’s someting… EPIC. What do we see here is RATHER LESS THAN STANDARD.
(edited by Luke.4562)
Come on ANET can’t you realize these aren’t Necromancers? The design of armors and general look are a fail!
Respect
15) when you realize your Minions aren’t “Utility Skills” for the simple fact that they aren’t useful as proper Utility Skills*
- (they don’t clean your conditions, they don’t give you buffs, they don’t help yourself fulfilling your role of Necromancer after the ANET concept: they don’t apply reliable conditions [wtf is a short cripple/snare?], they don’t make yourself consistently more resilient, they don’t reduce the chance your target is getting away [bone fiend isn’t reliable and golem is …well you should know that sum of issues!]; they aren’t also useful for the fact that after you summon them and get them oneshotted in a half second in a Bossfight, you just have your Utility Slots in perma cooldown with no real gain for the party
the list will continue… )
(edited by Luke.4562)
NECROMANCER =/= DEATHKNIGHT
Exorcise your fantasy ideas luggage from World of Moneycraft.
I agree Anet failed hard giving an identity to Necromancer, but this doesn’t mean it has to be insulted more pairing it to the Death Knight kitten .
Stop this heresy about 2 handed swords and axes!

Thanks for making it public, I couldn’t wait to see more posts of yours.

@Kats: yet realized, yet done, yet known; the rename was forced, with “don’t want to make errors with the risk of wasting moneys to rename my character back with gems” i meant in the case I would rename again after realizing it would have been an erroneous forced rename/censure. (Sorry for the verbal time, not my native language and I’m a bit tired…)
@Inculpatus cedo: yet done, after that first random answer they showed themself kind and helpful. Thanks for the help and the support.
Closed case, it was an human error, my name wasn’t breaking any rule.
What to do if I get total random answers from the customer support?-.-
Yeah I was referring to the ticket number. Thanks for the clarification.
1) @bluestocking: No trademarks, it’s a fictional name of mine.
2) @Tuck: Happy of not receiving a ban for doing nothing offensive
3) @Astral Projection: No need to criticize like that, i yet understood by the responses of other people (which i thanked and thanks again) that the customer support is the better way to go. I just had to understand what was the better way, that’s why i asked here.
One of your phrases catched my attention.. is it possible to review tickets basing on the reference number?
Thanks for the tip-off, i’m gonna do it as soon as possible.
Welcome 10% portion, it’s a fantasy name and has nothing offensive.
Remember i kept this name since 2005 and had zero problems with it.
What should i do then?
The situation: 1) the problem is the “Black” in my name, in which case, who administered the forced rename blindly didn’t check for my other characters (and if it’s a report consequence then the situation gets incredibly ridicle, by the moment my name has nothing to do with racial offenses), so I’d have to have a free rename for my other characters with “Black” as a surname; 2) there is a bug or an inexplicable problem by the moment my name isn’t offensive at all.
By the moment i won’t change name until i have 100% sure informations (and i haven’t to reveal it in a public forum) i’m stuck and I cannot login with my main character.
I’d like to communicate with someone who competes and which can help me.
(edited by Luke.4562)
‘XXX’ is because at the moment i don’t have to reveal the name, but I assure it doesn’t have anything offensive.
Hello, I was trying to log in with my main character, but i got suddenly blocked by a message:
“You must rename your character before you may continue”.
I thought it was because the surname was “Black” (an inoffensive word that i keep in my main character name since 2005 with GW1), but then noticed that I could login with other characters of mine with “Black” as a surname…
Then I tried to rename my character with his name, maybe it could be an error… but the message this time was:
“Inappropriate name. “XXX Black” contains words or partial words that are not permitted. …
(Code=31:4:5:2593:101)"
Now, I don’t want to make errors with the risk of wasting moneys to rename my character back with gems, I’d like to understand what’s the problem, by the moment I own (and I am fond to) this name (without any problems since 2005) .
I’d appreciate any help.
Fast Way: ALT+F4;
Artistic Way: Get naked, start dancing imitating the rite of coupling of the pink flamingo… better dying in an artistic way than get wasted for nothing..
Rational Way: Make him waste his time, fight for your life (just your, he doesnt risk anything), maybe a teammate gonna pass by and make your last effort useful..
Longest Way: Buy time, hoping for ANET to notice Necromancer needs some basic design, maybe to make it slightly competitive.
My Way: Wait for GW2 to get released for us Necromancers and laugh at those nerds who are actually wasting time on it
Good Luck

Offtopics, offtopics everywhere.
Nowdays, for some people, to make information (about their own opinion) and putting them under public domain means to say unequivocally the truth.
The problem is people who put too much effort and time in this class or feel themselves being pro let them develope a major attachment to the Necromancer for a self esteem problem, this is THEIR moment to show their ability, they won’t never say you the Necromancer is broken, it would totally deny their self confidence.
They feel safe in those well known bugged shell, instead of looking far for the real potential.
_ Maybe Necromancer NOW has some kind of potential, but it’s not what come out from a focused project, it’s the result of a chaotic ecosystem grown out of scraps. _
Listen to me, man: Guild Wars 2 has not came out yet for Necromancers, what i suggest you it’s to give it a try to see yourself if it’s ok for you now.
Otherwise let’s wait for a big change again.
(edited by Luke.4562)
@YOH: I just logged in to express my enthusiasm in seeing another person who thinks EXACTLY what i do, and plus, had enough time and force to write it all in a topic.
Total respect for you, you have my support.
Whoever talks in opposition to your hopinion just doesn’t deserve attention.
LET’s ADD MORE “LIKES” TO MAKE ANET POINT OUT THIS TOPIC
Rigor Mortis
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rigor_Mortis
It is useless due to long recharge and how often it misses.
Totally agree on the long cooldown.
I thought that the fact it often misses it’s because maybe its range is erroneously shorter than the autoattak range, over the fact it goes on cooldown even if the Bone Fiend can’t hit with it… so the 2 problems act together.
Add the fact it often doesn’t cast istantly, and while it does it the Bone Fiend Immobilizes himself while the target is still running, going out of his range…
BAD DESIGN AGAIN, ANET…
Pfft, you want to talk useless?
How about a skill with no synergy where it is and takes too long to cast?
I present what HAS to be our worst weapon skill:http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Feast_of_Corruption
I’m convinced it took this long to be mentioned because all of you forced yourselves to forget it exists.
Don’t be nasty man, i wanted to call it in the next days to not let the topic fade :P
Totally agree with you, it seems to be bugged too.. the bonus damage for condition won’t apply and we have to verify if the damage bonus from traits applies too.
It should do a nice damage with crits.
Almost it still garant Life Force.
(edited by Luke.4562)
That’s because it used to have lot of bugs (and most of them still are), it has clearly a bad design in both spells and traits: look the way minions are summon and use, underpowered (can’t be used in high istances for oneshot motives), occupying the whole utility slots, … Death Shroud having nothing to do with the design of Necromancer and after that it has even big limitations made purposely by developers..
The Necromancer class, after you understand it clearly, present itself as a class which developers have projected with low focus and interest. Most of its spells are circumstancial, every role it plays it’s better played by other classes, here you understand it’s really bad projected.
Of course, it’s not a terribad class after all, you still can play in some way with it, but it’s like playing McGiver with the scraps, raw materials thrown in a corner to define “Necromancer Class”.
It’s the Anet’s failed experiment.
(edited by Luke.4562)
I invite you all to keep a positive attitude.
Here’s another input, i’d like to gather your negative hopinions regarding this skill:
Corrupt Boon
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corrupt_Boon
The base idea is really nice, but considering the really long cooldown (40 seconds, 32 if traited), the fact it’s subjected to many hidden bugs (Aegis blocking it, the projectile-like behavior, it misses often, the aftercast delay), the fact that most of the times the target will just rebuff himself (so it need to be used carefully) and the self poisoning effect, it forces players to look other ways to manage dispels.
Even in GW1 most of the skills to dispel Enchantments (actual boons) had better tradeoff, “prizes” and cooldowns to fulfill the dispel role.
Death Curse
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Death_Curse
What’s better than poisoning yourself when you’re on the brink of death?
(edited by Luke.4562)
Let’s give more inputs.
Gathering Plague
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gathering_Plague
[BUG: This skill replicates any conditions on nearby allies but does not remove them.]
Over the bug, -if it would work properly- under water you have no useful skills like Staff#4 or Dagger#4 to send away conditions; it forces you having Consume Conditions, Plague Signet or Fetid Consumption (even if underwater MM is a lame spec) or someone dispelling them from you to work productively.
EDIT: to avoid misinformation, thanks to PinCushion.7390 for the note, Plague Blast (underwater) transfers 1 condition per blast.
(edited by Luke.4562)
Just for curiosity I’d like to know your opinion about what are the most useless skills for the necromancer and the reason about it (with objectivity or contestualized).
You can list more spells together.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_necromancer_skills
Who likes to give his/her opinion is well accepted, please avoid flame wars and provocations, for offtopics use PMs to the interested person.
If some kind of topic with the same target had been opened yet, i apologize, but I didn’t find any trace of it.
Let’s give a start:
Summon Shadow Fiend
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Summon_Shadow_Fiend
Almost low damage, scarce tankyness, melee range, relatively poor activated effect, repulsive look, i cry everytime i see a Necromancer bringing it.
These are Buffs? FIXES are needed before Buffs, you can’t try balancing a game if the actual mechanics aren’t working… over them being raw, primitive, unstable, lackluster..
As i yet said, nerds here are trying to make Necromancer work, they’re playing McGiver with the scraps Anet gave us.
And before Fixes and Balancement the basic design of the class totally sucks.
The modify to Death Shroud UI isn’t a FIX, what they did was removing a feature because it was bad projected.. this thing should have been done during betatest.
@Shafi: Want to boycott? Stop buying Gems, simply.
By the moment i don’t think this game’s gonna reach our expectations for Necromancer, just drop your dreams, it’s a matter you can’t deal with.
We’ll consider better the circumstances before giving other free moneys to Anet
I’d keybind that 5 key with an Alt+F4 macro, in the case i forget i’m wasting too much time with a broken class…
Sorry for the Offtopic, i have to get some entertainment with some of the Anet’s product (this forum) by the moment my 60 Euros Guild Wars 2 is still underdeveloped and bad working
It was probably something on the top of Anet’s priority-things-to-fix list.
Next month’s patch notes:
*Fixed a bug where necromancer was a class
+1 made my day
It’s useless debating on the phantoms of “how it would be”, ANET won’t pay attention or care about it all, this forum is just a tool to keep rebels entertained, so that they’ll return to play with their broken game after venting frustration here.
Really, at the moment Gw2 doesn’t deserve all this (wasted) neurons’ activity.
A pity that if you miss your attack, or the target is invulnerable or temporarily untouchable your pets will just ignore your orders.
@Templar: Despite your fresh experience, your impressions aren’t completely wrong; you have to try it yourself to have a valid opinion, by the way let me warn you:
this game can be explained by these words: RAW, UNCOMPLETE, UNBALANCED, BUGGED, BAD DESIGNED (in graphics, animation, lore, plots, characterization -spells, traits, whatever-).
It’s not a rotten apple, but don’t expect too much from it, it has some funny part, as discovering new places, jumping puzzles, admiring the panoramas, working together a lot of players to complete events, taking part in the great wars in WvW, but it’s not made to last long.. excites the first 2-3 times then just ends; the endgame contents are just the same as other mmos, farming and grinding materials and golds to get armor and weapons with a sober-mediocre look (like “i’m playing a fantasy game with no fantasy, LOL”), playing a broken unbalanced pvp. Nothing to lure you. Not even the Lore Story is that attractive (terrible ignorant infantile speeches and logics, terrible animations, … [at some point I just started skipping every “animated” and talked part]… no twists in plot, EVEN a really bad management of the crucial events, a total mess).
Usually long date players who still are playing just login to complete achievements, to satisfy their addiction to the farm/grinding system or for competition (Pvper Syndrome and stuff like that “I want to be pro playing with my broken yo-yo”).
A lot of smart people are still waiting for major reworks, after their week of fun they had with GW2.
Good Luck and Have Fun!
(edited by Luke.4562)
I’ve played minions in PvP almost exclusively since beta. The melee minions sometimes screw up, but it is incredibly rare.
Trolls (and misinformators), Trolls (and misinformators) Everywhere…
Where are moderators when they’re needed?
Bone Staff aka Death Wish.
The best between the worst, by the moment the poor 3d models are based on a fantasy free dead design, in a game where graphics are the 80% of the game and even that said they are bad…
no understanding of creative description.
This post IS a creative (and realistic) description. It has to be taken both humorous and seriously, because the contents and the situation descripted are sadly true.
(edited by Luke.4562)
Funny thread, but you are so much right, GW2 is not a Necromancer game, it’s just a smoke and mirror trick to catch people here.
Indeed VG Companies create games without any idea on how to balance them, what matters is to catch up more blind peoples as possible through hype and publicities, then let things go and rot. Guys, there is no need to theorycraft or discuss about game’s unbalances, it’s all wasted time, Trollnet won’t even consider our posts. They just feed on psychological dependance and dailies which keep people bound to Gw2.
No need to do the work Trollnet had to do in the Betatest….
