please fix……
If AP from dailies and monthlies would be removed I would gladly give up my daily and monthly AP I earned so far. Its a price worth paying.
Of course YOU don’t see the problem because you have them. For those searching for them, it doesn’t show up AT ALL. Hence, why people are rightfully calling it a bug.
I dont have them anymore. Sold them via the TP as I said. 1.6 gold each
Still a terrible money per hour reward compared to PvE. 500k glory take many 100 hours. 500 gold in PVE takes maybe 60 hours.
What’s funny is that PVPers have asked for a way to get some achievement points because they could never compete with PVE masters farming and when Arena net finally throws us a small bone with 2 EXTRA achievement points which we would get just straight up playing anyway, the PVE community just goes absolutely Batkitten over it.
Get over it PVE community; PvP does not have even close to the same efficiency of acquiring achievement points as PvE, and this was supposed to be a small buff so that we aren’t all left sitting on 4-5k achievement points after playing since beta.
Utter Greed all up in this thread, Shame on you. Shame.
The game does not only consist of exclusively of one of the follow: PVE, PVP, WvW. So if you want many AP you have to play all areas. A pure PVE player wont have much more than 5k AP either, simply because he will miss out on WvW dailies, WvW living story, WvW monthlies, PvP dailies and PvP monthlies.
It was a clear case where aggresive standpoint of players (at least large amount of such players) was effective into bringing the developer to submission. That being said, I dont think AP hunters are a large group of players. We are a minority so I find it plausible that Arena simply will not care (or care but decide that acting is not worth it).
AP Hunters? More like AP Farmers. It seems like you guys are only willing to put in minimal effort towards getting your beloved Achievement Points; any Daily that takes a bit more time instantly becomes “ridiculous” and “uncalled for”.
These new sPvP dailies were added in so that people who ONLY play sPvP can still complete their daily achievement without leaving Heart of the Mists. The win-factor ensures that people aren’t just AFKing for easy points and that they’re actually working for them. I’m sorry that you and your fellow “AP Hunters” think it takes too much time out of your day to complete these, but no one but yourself is making you take on these extra dailies.
TLDR: If you really were interested in hunting for achievement points, you wouldn’t be complaining about how hard they are to farm.
Since when is spending hours a day for trivial tasks hard? We are all for hard achievements like the Liadri ones. What we dont want is more and more time limited achievements which take nothing but time commitment and grinding. While daily tPvP wins are not purely time commitment, they still require a minimum of 2 hours per day if you win all of them. If you get unlucky with your team and opponents it can easily double.
Better to tell them why you might be going away in the forseeable future, than leaving without giving reasons. If they dont know what makes people think about quitting, they cannot work on it. As it is now, “hardcore” players are leaving by the truckload judging from my friendlist. Be it the dull living story content, dailies or other flaws such as coverage wars in WvW.
Perhaps people who spend more than 10 hours a week are not the target audience of the game.

I can’t say I enjoy reading the sufferings of those which have addictive play styles.
However the ones that say " I’m gonna hold my breath and turn blue till I get my way", are funny. For those who threaten to quit, you may want to do some research.
I recall in gw1 various changes they made to the sin in which supposedly 3000 players would or did quit if they didn’t change it back. Know what, they didn’t change it back.
There are some new games coming next year, so anet should think twice before loosing their most dedicated players. I doubt many players spend more effort and time on the game than achievement hunters.
If pvp season achievements would be anything like wvw season achievements I dont mind them. You had 7 weeks for them and were doable in a week. I really doubt they would make achievements like “Become top 100” of the season.
I sold 2 recipes of dwayna on the TP. I dont see your problem.
Good suggestion. Dailies are the main cancer of this game. So many friends burned out of this game already because of them.
That screenshot is from before the patch. I assume it is an anet dev in disguise.
LEGENDARY ARMOR will let you change stats whenever your want!
DONT WORRY its coming soon!
At least half a year away.
My win percentage in TeamQ is much despite queueing solo for it. And if there are rewards for something I will choose the better option of the 2.
SoloQ is currently one of the most frustrating experience in GW2 you can find. You rank up much slower on SoloQ, too. 450 rank points vs 1000.

Remove daily achievements.
The same can be said about TeamQ. Its astonishing how many premade 4man groups run without a proper bunker.
Because you have a much higher chance of winning in solo Q. In team Q, you’re likely to get pitted against organized teams of players who likely are talking on Vent, have played together before, and have a more optimal team composition.
That logic is flawed. To win another team must loose. So the average win percentage across all SoloQ players is 50%. And since I have no influence on my team or my opponents its all luck.
Currently TeamQ gives me a better playing experience and better rewards, so the only reason to do SoloQ is for the two dailies which take too long to bother anyway.
Considering solo tournament queue gives so much less rewards now for the same effort, what is the point of SoloQ now? Might as well just keep going Team Q even if solo.
I blame Anet for making stuff worse. I decided to become an achievement hunter when there were only 4 generic dailies total in the game, which anyone could complete within 20min. But not that long after release Anet kept adding more and more and it started to become a chore.
As Smooth Penguin said, switching stats is reserved for legendaries.
I find Solo queue outrageous. I get worse teams than if I solo queue for team tournaments all the time.
I never use SoloQ, I always used team queue even when rewards were not better.
Playing games is a waste of time in general, so dont tell people activity xyz is a waste of time just because you do not share it.
Maybe offer them for 5x the normal price outside of that event. Otherwise no thanks.
Because it gives 1460 points per year. A huge amount especially if you are in the TOP 5 like Tasslehoff.
I liked the charged ones incase they are used for legendaries. Cant hurt to have a stack of them just in case.
I regularly grief AP farmers in Crab Toss that want to get the win and use fishing pole on them even if they don’t have the crap. (It’s still a legit strategy to weaken the strongest so he won’t get easy win).
Don’t think in LA it is griefing. You still get loot and don’t need to do much for event credit I think. Would be hard to lock someone completely down.
People like you is why I grind crab toss after reset when noone can join anymore. Then I can reap the rewards for hours while I am alone.
I checked with a second browser where no ad blocker is installed. No ads on my channels or videos.
Or maybe he just got unlucky with his teams. Most teams I come across are simply horrible with no plan of anything. Very few people can carry a team with 4 noobs.
Solo queue is all about luck with your team and your opponents.
But how many accounts quit before generating any meaningful amount of data? Most of my GW1 friends quit before reaching 500 achievement points. And 30 TB is not that much anymore. Even if they would use premium class SSDs instead of HDDs, the costs would be neglibel in comparison to other expenses of the company.
Only posts from 13 unique players during a whole month. Could be better.
If Anet does nothing to improve the situation at the 21th january patch I will likely quit the game. I noticed how my playing habbits have become more and more unhealthy and how I keep spending less effort for my real life responsibilities. Sometimes I only sleep 3 hours a day to not miss achievement points and get my RL done at the same time.
So Anet should consider this as a deadline from a dedicated player who spends on average more in the gem shop than the cost of a subscription fee in other games.
Nah, you can turn of ads for your own channel and videos.
No large company buys refurbished.
This data isn’t sitting on a PC. It’s sitting on a NetAPP or EMC etc. .
You have to keep these up to date standard policy is support skyrockets after 3 years. So you drop the money on a new system. 1 Petabyte is going to run you about a million bucks. Give or take a few hundred K. High speed networking and switches along with support contracts. Separate AC units to cool it. You got to power this stuff so generators and UPS to hold it till the generator is up and running. Salaries for guys to run this stuff.Yeah you can just give away space it’s so cheap.
Too bad they dont need anywhere close to 1 PB of space for the GW2 player database. There are only 450k active players and if each account needs a generous 10 MB each its only 4.5TB. Most accounts are probably so inactivate that they need even less.
You know, I uploaded like 1 TB of videos to my Youtube channels already and they are charging me nothing although I disabled all ads from my videos and channel.
Granted, Google is a much larger company than Anet, but they also store a much larger amount of data completly for free.
If this stays in the game it will turn off most of the completionists from sticking around. Temporary achievements are absurd enough to begin with, but to require people to play six hours a day without an exception repeating the same tasks amazes me. That is what is the issue.
Dude – I have bad news for you, there are unreasonable achievements LITTERED throughout this game if you’re a completionist. It takes something like 8 years of 13 hours a day of a dolyak a minute to get Yakslapper. You could probably kill a man and be out in 8 years on good behaviour. I think anyone rational has accepted that they won’t get every achievement point. If you’re complaining about the leaderboards then wow, now we actually have something to separate the hardcore from the not hardcore enough.
Bad news for you. The WvW achievements will be reworked to make them more reasonable.
I think I will pass on these 4 dailies again today. Wasted over an hour for not a single win because of stupid useless teams and 4v5s.
GW2 will never be a an eSprort. at least not until they removed stuff like stealth and moa form and complety rebalanced all professions from scratch
Its useless this way for fractal players. If you like the skin you have to make a 2nd backpiece to transmute it. Sad but true.
I got a complete collection of ALL minis ingame.
I am quite interested to know when this is expected as well. Can we also get a moderator to edit the title? It is killing my soul.
Yes! It’s killing my soul too… I spammed the cancel key like crazy but it was too late!
Its not too late. Click on “edit topic” at the top just under “add reply”
There are several reasons this might be the case: 1. They didnt expect there to be demand for it. 2. They wanted people to think higher stacking took them extra effort. 3. To make it harder for traders to hord millions of a crafting material.
So you are basically claiming that we can store unlimited amounts of data for free nowadays? That is news to me.
You conveniently also decided to ignore the other part of my post.
If it were indeed completely free, why would they wait until now to add it?
Not completly free, but storing data is not costing much anymore. You can probably save upwards of 10^12 database entries on a single HDD today. Not to mention they are saving all the logs of your trading post sales and buys since release which most likely costs way more storage than this.
They are charging extra for it now because they can. Its a capitalistic world.
Best idea would to cap daily achievement points at 10,000 and monthly achievements at 2,500.
Too expensive for zero extra costs for anet.
I would suggest you actually read up on databases and stuff before you make a statement like this.
Because right now you are just making a fool out of yourself. If there were no extra cost involved, why not just have unlimited storage buyable? Or at release for that matter?
I am not. It is unlikely Anet used 1 byte per entry, so if they used 2 byte (they probably used 4 bytes), it costs them nothing extra to store 1000 items instead of 250. Even if they used 1 byte integers it costs almost nothing extra because storage is so cheap nowadays.
Too expensive for zero extra costs for anet.
I believe GW2 will be my first and last buy to play MMO. Its getting way more expensive than subscription.
I find it funny people think TOP 100 achievement hunters are PVE players. Obviously they have no clue about this game because you cannot get that high without investing a significant amount of time in WvW and PvP.
Sadly there seem to be a lot of narrow minded and intolerant people towards other playstyles and goals of peoples playtime in this thread.
You ap farmers need to realize something. The Achievement points don’t belong to you, YOU made it YOUR obsession! Since achievement points now award skins, it’s no longer only interesting for people who farm it, there’s a reason for other people to get to 3k or 6k achievements, and among those people are the regular pvpers that deserver the skins just as much as you and for whom these new dailies are easy to complete and come naturally. Achievement points DO NOT belong to you.
I want to hear that from Arena (who is behind the design philosophy of this game). If they will confirm this, I will politely say goodbye, wish them good luck and leave to try something else. If that will make you happy, even better. They already tried to ramp up the daily PvP several months ago and then retracted this change due to feedback. What made them to bring this “boost” again and even in more harsh form? All I am asking for is a couple of sentences from Arena to confirm the intention.
I am wondering this, too. I just browsed to quite a few pages of this pvp forum and didnt find a single thread asking for more pvp dailies, let alone dailies which take 2 hours (queue times rarely instant) to complete even if you have a 8 game winstreak.
DONT WORRY its coming soon!
