There we go… diden’t had enought time to do them all today… was doing pvp from when the update hit till now, missing 1 win in team arena. This take too many time !
Btw, just for logic purposes, they ask us to do 8 wins per day, but 20 wins per month ? How that’s logic ?
Not only 20 wins per month, but you can also get the wins wherever you want: hotjoin, solo queue or team queue.
I dont mind playing tpvp, I usually do it daily to progress my other achievements, but I cant think of the day when I had 8 wins in one day before. But the dailies are just a step in the wrong direction. I will most likely stop spending money in gemshop and move to a new game as soon as a promising one is showing.
First they ruined my miniature collection (see mini holographic knights, mini caithe and mini scarlet incident, as well as ruining mr sparkles now) and now they make AP collecting more and more of a chore which takes away 100% of my playtime.
I already left all my non bank guilds (real guilds can be very stressing if you have 100% daily completion in mind eg. “come and help in fractals”) to have more time for AP hunting, but it is getting out of hand.
I gave up after spending 2.5 hours on tpvp today. Walked away with 3 team and 0 solo queue wins. Its just depressing and more of a weekly than a daily task. It should be changed to games played or removed completly.

Well I spent 50k glory on gifts and got a stack of this quartz stuff. Pretty stupid.
I am just trying to get these stupid achieves done. But half the teams I get are plain stupid and worthless. Other times you get paired up by teams who are way more experienced or synching (solo arena). There are too many factors in it to make 8 tpvp wins a day a realistic goal.
After 90min of trying I got 2 team wins and 0 solo wins.
Plus 4 points a day sums up to 1460 points per year.

I bought 8 stacks of giant gifts, nothing special in it. sure 160+ quartz and 3 grenth recipes, but quartz is untradeable and the recipes like 20s each.
it will take minimum 3 months until this comes. next update is 21th january and the next 4 updates will be living story only.
Its not about getting APs in other ways. You simply cant ignore 4 dailies if you want to compete on the leaderboard.
The 4 AP easily add up. 1460 points per year! Thats nothing to sneeze at. I think the top 100 should work/stick together and boycot the new achieves.
This is truly silly. I think Anet wants to burn achievement hunters out? 1 daily team arena win would be bad enough.
I thought anet learned from the past debacle with the 3 tpvp wins per day.

Looks like PVP is up and running again. I wonder if this thread helped? First time I see it get back up before the patch is live.
Its always down 2-5 hours before content patches.
Please stop taking down pvp hours before a patch arrives. WvW players and PVE players can keep going so PVP should, too. It makes patch days a pain for people who try to do all daily achievements if pvp is down for hours for no good reason.
I think its a bug or the description is false.
Tried this several times on different difficulties. On lvl 1 my team bursted him down before I took any damage at all (I ranged from 1200). Tried dieing at the start by jumping into the lava. Tried it normally on 30+. Never got the achieve so far.
Each time you become top 3 it adds +2 to the achievement track instead of +1.
I don’t get it….a close game? I’ve had 499v500 games on other maps.
I had a 500 v 500 game before. I think it counted as a win for both sides.
Achievements advancing from personal score instead of rank points is a bug. When it is fixed, it will be retroactive unless some horrible code demon prevents it. I wouldn’t stress over getting personal score to advance the achievement right now.

Fixing this should take like 30min of development time max, but what should we expect from a company needing over 1 year to fix wvw queues.
uncooperative pugs are often the cancer of the community.

Quite the opposite. I see uncooperative guilds way more often than uncooperative pugs, because well like 90% of the WvW guilds are uncooperative in my view.
Capping dailies isn’t the answer, as it disadvantages new players.
Those who want to just do 5 dailies every day should not be effected at all.
With this in mind, the solution is to remove the day limit on earning APs from dailies. At the end of every day, unfinished dailies should be put in to the permanent section.
In the next patch, find the person with the highest daily APs and populate that amount of permanent achievements to each player. Randomly complete an individuals permanent daily catagories up to the amount of daily APs they have. Then from that point on each person can earn those missed points by completing those catagories.
For example: a new player today should have a general kills achievement with 57 tiers, up to 2850 kills. And an events in Shiverpeaks achievement with 57 tiers, up to 228 events.
Any missed dailies for content that is no longer available would add tiers to a general category that isn’t normally a daily. Such as Kill Skelk 0/10.
Doing this would even the achievement playing field, and would lessen burnout and would no longer punish people for missing a day (something which cannot ever be done due to the disproportionate APs of dailies). It would also give a significant exp boost to new players, who do not have the benefit of populated zones.
That would be way too easy to catch up. Killing 2850 things in a day is no challange for example.

I just did it, and I got a chest. Not sure if you get one for just participating, or if you must score in some way.
I played some matches more and sometimes I got the chest, sometimes I did not. Totally random. Was always there from start to finish, always had top 3 points.
You could have saved money by not selling to the highest offer.
It should be more than easy to recalculate the achievements by calculating it directly from your pvp rank. But I would be very happy already if it would only be fixed for future matched, but retroactively would be even better.

As title says. 5v4 games should be automatically cancelled before they start, or at least allow people to leave without getting a penalty. I have no motivation to play a 5v4.
1. The beginning of a round seems to be messed up currently. It worked fine before.
2. I am not getting any participation chests.
I got like 2 stacks of them, they come in faster than I can use them up.
Easy solution: Normalize everyone to max sized Norn in PvP.
The recipes are too rare. Never saw one drop, noone in my group reported a drop, too. I wonder whats the point considering the very limited usefulness.
They also should not be tradeable at all like ascended weapons.
Probably a good decision considering some people exploited millions of glory.

I think the caps should be as following:
10k for daily achievement points
2.5k for monthly achievement points
5k for living story achievement points
None of the current players would loose anything, only reach the cap earlier. But players in 5 years time still have the chance to reach the maximum achievement points possible. If a permanent achievement gets discontinued like “That had to burn” it should start counting towards living story.

Not worth it imo.
The tower will collapse in a few days, so it probably does not matter anymore.
The buffed rank points count towards the monthly achievement, but not to the long term achievements, very silly.
Now fix the pvp achievements and I will be happy

Too bad this has not been updated yet. Especially with the 1000 rang points per tPvP win now I will be rank 50 before having the rank 40 title.
