I use traited warhorn and tooting it mid fight is a tad dangerous so this change is at least somewhat decent. They can make nightmare runes have a 0.5sec duration for all I care, I only use it to put a wrench in thieves jumping me from half way across a large field and rangers and mesmers who begin a fight tickling me with auto attacks from a safe distance.

Funnily enough, I was watching an old Skullcrack video the other day. I’m not kidding when I say a big smirk shot across my face as I watched that near instant, no telegraph skill stun people for 3 seconds as hundred blades diced them up and the warrior facetanked pretty much anything trying to stop ’em and I was as guilty as anyone for doing this.
It was hilariously OP.
I wish they brought it back and I don’t even play warrior, I play necromancer. Back then there were warriors everywhere, but now? There’s few outside of a zerg. Hambow and those old mace HB warriors are the main warrior builds I would have liked to test my necromancer on but those builds are almost dead.

I don’t mind celestial but is there any way I can be in celestial without spamming boons? I hate tying my builds down around single mechanics that normally put me in very abusive situations against certain classes (thieves/necromancers).
I just recently finished my celestial necromancer (by recently I mean like half a year ago) and I have to say that it’s the best build I ever created and I’m wondering if I can have such luck with my elementalist.

100% condi duration traited warhorn does the trick. You gotta juggle a bit but this is gw2 after all.
OP I don’t really see it being worth it and it still sounds somewhat abusive since fighting necromancers is messy. I like Atherakhia suggestion far better since opponents will have a clear cut way to avoid it and it will potentially remove some pressure from necromancers.

I don’t have faith in anet which is why I bent my standards a bit to be effective in this game. All I can say OP is drop focus OH and get yourself a warhorn/dagger and you will be so much happier.

I’ve been on and off with this game and I just recently came back since I’m on Christmas break. I’m playing the game in a way completely opposite of my previous playstyle and now I employ heavy cheese builds. This is my current necromancer build:
Although this is a roaming build, it makes all my problems go away (except ganking). If I ever run into a warrior, I just corrupt his stability while his berserker stance is up, then warhorn 4 him, wait till his beserkers stance wears out, then I just sit on him with warhorn 5 and plague form 1 till he dies. Every other class except maybe a guardian is a joke against permanent cripple. I don’t even care anymore.
Hell I’m actually posting for some feedback on these abusive sigil uses you mentioned that other classes have. I’m looking to make similar builds on an elementalist and mesmer.

I don’t see much point in this. Conditions specs are broken and they’re being kept alive by the fact that their opponents chances of removing them is crap shoot at best without a full cleanse. Just pray Anet is spending as much time thinking about how they will do sweeping changes to conditions as they are to power.
That’s why I personally play hybrids. That way I can use single conditions for their utility and focus on dealing my damage with the power side of my builds to avoid this cover condition garbage completely. Unfortunately I’ve found that even as a hybrid, the small amount of utility conditions I output and their frequency is too powerful for most classes cleanses (save warrior) and eventually they stick and hurt and I’m not making any exceptional plays of any sort.
I do like the idea of removing specific boons though, so we can just target the might and protection of any might stacking classes.

I’ve went through the first few pages since the search was broken and didn’t see any mention of the rune so I was just wondering if any of you guys have any info on how this sigil is obtained? I’m banking on this to make my guardian feel better to play.

To be fair, most mechanics in this game save some of the guardian’s have been broken since launch. It really shows when adding counter play to a portion of the warrior that we could only stop partially before destroys the class for some.

I at least believe that a thief should be revealed if you dodge their attack with an evade and only an evade. This requires legitimate skill since your two evades cannot be abused like weapon based evades, blocks, blinds, invulnerabilities.
In reality though I agree with the OP and the thief should be altered till it makes sense rather than having a large heap of exceptions for the class to even exist.
Just a thought, but maybe people play the class because they like it conceptually? Would you remove attunements from ele’s or Illusions from mesmers?
Wrong choice of words on my part. I don’t mean flip the thief upside down, but leaving thieves partially immune to chill because of initiative or being forced out of stealth because it is their main way to deal damage is all around bad design.
I wouldn’t remove attunements from ele/illusions from mesmers but if they could only exist by ignoring large portions of the game, you can bet I would alter them.

I seriously would have just preferred the signet to just magnify your self heals passively by 1.5x and maybe 2x if your target is bleeding or something. The active could then be something else entirely.
This signet will never feel right as long as anet just tweaks numbers on the current version.

I’m fine with it as long as axe 2 and 3 stay the same. I threw in the towel with my siphoning builds though, dagger 2 sucks and dagger 3 makes no sense. Your changes would at least make dagger 3 worth it.

I would go with meditation mastery just because removing 1 uncontrollable condition out of the multitude of conditions necromancer and engineers spew out is useless as you said.

If the ally requirement was dropped + it was a stun breaker, I can see it’s usage being neck and neck with JI (possibly beating it). Or everyone could just drop smite condition and then teleport around like a heavy armor thief.

If you go up against a thief kittenets the fight till you are dead, there isn’t much you can do anyways. If you don’t have trouble with thieves now it’s because they’re letting you kill them.
if they reset the fight, then reengaging would be like starting the fight from scratch again, right? for both sides. it’s not like the thief is the only one benefiting from a reset. the whole idea of adrenaline is not carrying an advantage you earned from a previous fight into the next one.
i’m not sure i see the problem, especially since there are warrior builds that are better at bailing from fights than any thief build.
Initiative disagrees.
Edit: If this is pvp though, I don’t see the problem.

OP even if this is a bug, you would be insane to request it’s removal. It’s removal will probably warrant every class having access to multiple forms of revealed and I’m sure most experienced players don’t want that. Besides non stealthing classes are already punished heavily for allowing their opponents to enter stealth (which isn’t something you have much control over anyways) with thieves healing and removing conditions and mesmers gaining countless boons on top of the large amount of benefits stealthing already provides.
If an opponent times their channel with you entering stealth, that is a skill in itself imo.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to destroy phantasms when a mesmer enters stealth? Sure this is more powerful but it’s more clear cut and won’t overly punish the mesmer for accidentally leaving out his/her kitten y clones.

Well these anti-stealth skills best be unblockable because anet thought it would be funny to reward mesmers with aegis on stealth. Why should a mesmer gain aegis, protection, and regeneration, just for using decoy/the prestige? I will never know, but stealth’s offensive/defensive capabilities alone are enough for even some engineers to fight to get into it.
As I’ve said before, I would prefer stealth stay as strong as it currently is but make it a reward for good play. In return give thieves/mesmers stronger out of stealth abilities (not so much mesmer). Skills like CnD, mass invisibility, and veil offer plenty of counter play should you expect it, but adding bp+hs, blinding powder, shadows refuge, decoy, and the prestige to the mix makes it difficult to leave the pace of a stealthing class. If stealth was a reward for good play maybe thief wouldn’t be riddled with ridiculous amounts of restrictions with many more to come imo.
Stealth is frankly over budget when used with stealth augmenting traits, but rather than removing them or adding equally cheesy unblockable counters, just add counter play to stealthing skills.

I just have to say that inner fire is extremely bad. I would just go for 5 in zeal for inner speed since it either gives you a short break from smart opponents or helps you kill the dumber ones. Since you are using a hammer and gs you can also either leap through it or blast it for retaliation.

Necromancer elites are pretty bad. I’m against ai based cc since they’re horribly unreliable leaving me with plague form which I only really use in groups and for stomping. In most situations I’m essentially going up against other classes with no elite which is a big loss against classes like thief, warrior, engineer, and mesmer. Guardian, ele, and necro got shafted although fgs, plague form, and renewed focus are somewhat decent. Rampage together is easily one of the better elites in the game imo, unfortunately it’s on ranger.
I’d be heavily interested in some new elites like that fake corruption one floating about.

A-net has said they they don’t feel that asura size is a significant factor in pvp.
I’d like to see them say that with a serious face after watching some of the videos they push as a part of their “make gw2 a e-sport” plan.
If there was a choice to swap races into other ones, I’m sure most players would only be up against norns. Anet is just face first in lala land.

This is nothing. I remember the last time warrior got “nerfed” and posts like these were everywhere. I walked into wvw and I swear they got buffed.
As long as healing signet is decent and as long as the warrior has powerful mobility, I expect to see lots of warriors since it’s like thief for new players.

Depends on if you care. I was thinking about a celestial chill/burn build that used grenth runes and it sounded pretty awesome till I remembered guardians only had burning. Would solve all my problems with guardian being unable to stick but I threw it out.

There really should be more conditions on the guardian Independent of the zeal line. Useless pve traits like renewed justice should be combined with Justice is blind and we should get something like apply bleeds to burning opponents with each attack in it’s place. It also wouldn’t hurt to have grand masters in the condition damage line that had something to do with condition damage/allowing difficult to land attacks like banish to apply conditions like torment.
I prefer condition augmenting traits like terror and amplified wrath anyways, but you’re not going to find many people traiting 30 into zeal to get it.

In personal experience, versus good mesmers, and also playing a mesmer vs good guardians, yes. Engineers and Mesmers seem to be our hard counter classes, at least when played well. Kind of like how we counter any minion classes (like spirit ranger/MM necro) Though once again, this is personal opinion.
Wait, I have the opposite experience as med: I tear through mesmers and can’t do anything against mm necro.
Same. I can’t do all too much against spirit rangers since by the time I get rid of their spirits, my offensive capabilities are far too kitten to go up against their evasion.

I see mobility on the warrior as a problem because it counters the only effective way to counter some of their more common builds which is bursting hard while avoiding their cc. The amount of skills necessary to deal damage while avoiding theirs with minimal opportunities for him to heal are astronomical. You can’t pace yourself because he will out heal you nor can you burst him hard putting yourself on too much CD for when he temporarily retreats. I can only see classes that attack with large advantages such as mesmers (damage while stealthed and aegis, protection, and regeneration while visible + non projectile ranged attacks) and thieves (high burst damage from stealth, decent poison access, good mobility, and no weapon cool downs) doing extremely well pacing a fight.
Stability is a waste of time since it is normally on large cd’s and warriors mobility with limited competition allows them to wait it out. Defensive conditions are useless at the start of the fight which depending on the class puts you on a defensive for 8-10 seconds with no guarantee of him sticking around afterwards if he didn’t severly cripple you during that time. I feel like the best ability to fight a warrior which allows you to deal damage while pacing the fight is honestly the block and counter abilities but those are on some of the worst weapons the game has ever seen (mesmer scepter, Guardian mace, and greatsword ranger all of which are imo).
The only kind of good warriors that can possible die are the ones that are tied to an objective or have far too much pride to run (this is also the case with thieves).

Here are my reasons why I want open world dueling;
-The game has beautiful views, I want to fight people while have visual ‘orgasms’.
-Access to armor stat combination, food and looks of choice
-Insta fights with people that are willing to fight me, no more 20 mins on a borderland trying to find some roamer, only to either be chased off by a zerg/intrusion from mates/walking back from death.
-Gathering places outside cities, on community-organized arenas, such as Fire shaman, where people could show case ‘dueling tournaments’ with ‘viewers’.
-Community can find spots in the maps that would otherwise be ignored. Exploring might actually become a thing again, trying to find the best spots for fights, or people fighting.
-Make up for awesome videos showcasing individual skills
-Can become hubs for builds, exchange of ideas, training ground for new WvW recruits, friendly fist interchange, group of players actively playing rather than AF|k’ing waiting for their TP stuff to sell.
^ This guy has it down. I know I’m not the only one who wants to fight one and only one player when looking for a fight. Attempting to do so as anything but a thief, mesmer, or warrior or doing so without an ally that plays the former two only spells frustration for you, your server, or the pvp server. As Fortus said, it’s as simple as allowing us to fight in the open world. There is no need for elaborate maps, prizes, and fanfare over something so simple yet essential to appeasing a large portion of the player base.
If I could duel, I would gladly stop wasting a queue slot in wvw or jumping into other players servers uninvited.

We’re finally at the bridge anet (or we have been there since launch I guess), I bet they regret giving a class 0 weapon cd’s now.
What if chill simply put the thieves initiative skills on a cool down that matches the remaining duration on the chill the thief is affected by? That means if you hit a thief with a 5 second chill and he follows it up with a heart seeker 1 second afterwards, he is placed on a 4s cool down. This would present a similar amount of panic to what I imagine most classes feel when they get slapped with chill imo.
Edit: Actually I think chill should function like this across the board because it is too kitten strong right now.

Well if they’re toning down power builds in pve you can bet your money they’ll buff conditions in pve and group situations and tone it down in pvp. It just might take longer than a year or so.

I agree that this trait is stupid, but at the same time you can’t say ranger is the only one that suffers from this. The ranged attacks on guardian are all slow as kitten. You can NEVER believe that a guardian projectile is going to hit its mark.
Either does anet apparently since scepter 1 isn’t even a projectile finisher.

So who here thinks that the double recharge on interrupts is not going to have in ICD? lol we’re talking about a game where only maybe 4 or 5 decent and popularly used traits doesnt have an ICD. ITs not liek their just gonna faceroll across interrupts and poof all ur skills are on 10 second recharge. Everyone wants to complain about it before they even know what it is.
Side note: did anyone even play GW1??
This is true, but if it has an ICD the trait is useless. Interrupting a heal is probably the most important interrupt you could possibly go for, but if you wasted it to avoid being hit by a large attack, this trait would have difficulty being justified as even an adept.

1v1 is not particularly relevant, all game modes are group based. Also nobody who runs 1v1 PU cheese build would be able to take this interrupt trait without losing something vital (and they don’t need to waste clones or slot spaces on interrupts anyway).
If this is targeted towards me, I was just pointing out that mesmers are already frustrating to fight so it can’t get much worse. I should probably start articulating my ideas better lol.

If it would somehow make us shoot faster, or reducing CD or something, it might be, but all that it does is make LB arrows fly faster so that foe will not just have to sidestep to avoid them… LB should have an integrated way of making sure people can’t just WASD to avoid damage… not through a GM trait…
I do see it as overpowered. As I said, ranger is so crappy that it won’t matter. Throw this trait on any other class and it would be broken. It’s a point that doesn’t need to be made, but I was sort of just stating how I think it’s extremely powerful but lack luster on ranger.
If ranger actually had some meaningful longbow skills you would agree < the problem. Thanks to this trait the longbow will probably forever be exactly what it is, Terrible.

I don’t really mind the guardian trait since they have to give up battle presence or pure of voice, which is a pretty nice trade off imo. Though I have to agree that mesmers are extremely frustrating to fight with the introduction of a useful PU, but I’ll still give this trait a shot.

I guess it’s nice for the players already deep in death magic, but it will in no way get me investing 30 in death magic. I’m more interested in the curses grandmaster and blood magic grand masters since those are in reach of my current build. If the blood magic grandmaster is lack luster, I’ll be looking at the changes to death magic minors for my last 10 trait points.

Hopefully they can speed things up now that hell on earth is over(?). If I knew they would have taken this long to release the patch I would have covered my ears and sung a tune when they announced the crit damage changes.

I’ve seen some necros suggesting that tainted shackles apply it’s torment at the end of it’s duration and I agree. This way opponents can use skill to mitigate the torment.
While I can agree with your death magic changes, I can’t agree with your blood magic changes. While most players will ignore the decreased dagger cool downs, some necros (like me) make good use of it for a 14 or so second condition transfer and decent weakness uptime. I can also use life siphon every nine or so seconds to maintain pressure on stealthed opponents and to keep me afloat.

Pray that you get a one time swap in the up coming balance patch, that’s what I’m doing. My circumstances are difference because I chopped and skewed different stats together to get my desired build but due to the crit damage changes, only 2/3rds of my build may get refunded (since my armor is zerker and my trinkets are celestial) while my weapons will not (clerics) and this is under the massive assumption that anet even cares.
I’ve tried to salvage my armor before just to see if anet would allow us to do something so careless but you can’t
