the OK is just a confirmation that your listing went through. no need to click it, you could just exit out of the window or click on the next item to sell instead. I like that part.
the error happens if you sell around 7 items during 30 seconds length of time. so if you sell 7 items, then wait 30 seconds you should be able to sell 7 more. or sell 1 item, wait 4 seconds, sell 1 more, etc.
if you noticed, I just outlined how any TP-selling bot would be programmed to sell 20,160 items per day. which illustrates why this error is not intended to prevent bots (if it is, it’s a noob method).
what it is intended to do, no one has been able to prove. server congestion doesn’t make sense, as you can buy items as quick as you can click. my bet is currently either failed bot-control or shoddy programming (like the game will cache your item for sale client-side, then send it to the server every 30 seconds or so, but due memory-allocation error, they only gave it enough memory for 7 items)

the criteria is very strict. I’ve got credit for 4 gates. one I remember I hopped on just before the gate went down and got 2 hits in and got credit. another I treb’ed a wall from full health down to 0. it’s a little random if you’ll get it or not. if I had to guess: you need to deal the final hit that breaks it.

it sucks how they will include things like vulnerability in condition builds, then make it not apply to conditions.
like how a lot of skills will have ‘proc to apply condition on crit’, so you have high crit to give all the conditions, but then conditions don’t benefit from crit, so those conditions are weak.
almost like they want you to diversify and just be meh in everything.

just salvaged 121 exotics with Black Lion Salvage Kits, paying close attention to ectos that came out. not a single 4 or 5. I’ll keep going but will probably post further results tomorrow due to cost. I did get 176 ectos, though, so that’s higher than expected (1.45 instead of 1.25). today was a good day

Its not a rumor, I’ve gotten 5 ectos a couple of times using black lion salvage kit on exotics.

was this recent? it’s definitely something they could of changed.

hmmm…. I don’t know! I do know each stack of vulnerability will increase how much direct damage you take (25 stacks = 25% more damage). I don’t know if this also applies to conditions like bleed or burn.
I should know this, too. I have a skill that let me take less damage for each clone I have, so more clones could mean less damage taken from bleed, which would be fun to know.
5% vs. +25% isn’t a huge difference. if you’re dealing 200 damage normally, 5 stacks would mean 210 damage and 25 stacks would mean 250 damage.
I feel like it’s not actually 1 stack = +1% (unless that 1% compounds itself???). I always feel like I die in 2 hits when I have 20 stacks of vulnerability, whereas it takes 10 or so to kill me normally.
if that 1% does compound, then 25 stacks would mean the target takes 28.24% more damage. well, that’s not what’s going on! :P barely added anything to the 25%.

I’m personally hoping an update will accidentally include giving a coin value to bloodstone (preferably in the vicinity of 2s each), allowing them to be sold to merchants at 5g / stack.

I am 100% sure you can receive a WvW rankup chest and daily at the same time – I’ve noticed when it’s happened before

I did not receive my daily chest when I completed it last night, and this is most likely due to the crashing bug mentioned on the index page.
the bug went something like this:
there were 2 daily achievements for “Daily Mists Camp Capturer”
if you captured 3 camps, both of these were marked as done. I dont know if you actually got double achievement points for this… the daily page said you did.
if you then looked at your daily achievements page, your game likely crashed (mine didn’t at first, but then did when I went to PvE, but my friends’ did when still in WvW)
I happened to have 4 completed dailies before capturing the 3rd camp, so I went from 4 to 6 completed by that capture. this could be why we didn’t receive the daily chest?

I love when they call something aoe, but then the range is like 120.

some conflicting results here :P I’ll do some salvages tonight and watch every one and let you know if I get any 4’s or 5’s, then provide screenshot if there is.

if there is a 0.5% chance of 4 and 0.1% chance of 5, that would still be approximately the same ecto return for exotic vs. rare:
1.25 + 0.005×4 + 0.001×5 = 1.275 (0.025 more ectos from exotics)

probably intentional. too many other references in this game for it to be coincidence. (there was a post about everyone naming references they found… it was on page like 8 when I added the ones I noticed)

it’ll probably be a krait deforestation machine in the next patch (have you been to kessex recently?)

I’ve never got 4 or 5 ectos from an exotic. I believe that is a rumor someone started a year ago that’s never gone away (or maybe that’s how it was during beta but then it got changed?). I go by 0.9 ectos from MSK for rares and exotics, then 1.25 ectos from BLSK for rares and exotics. What I observe is close enough that I assume it’s most likely the same rates for both (from salvaging thousands of rares and hundreds of exotics with both kits)

it would be nice to have a spell in pvp and wvw that deals more damage when you are close to allies, aka giant zerg ball.

I expect this condition cleanse will have almost zero hp recovery, so there is that big tradeoff.
that said, it does further reduce condition’s effectiveness.

confusion does not work very well against pve trash mobs, just fyi. if you time it very well, it could, but they tend to attack once every like 4 seconds and confusion only lasts around 3 seconds, then there’s the shattering, which stuns them for a sec or two. much better on vets or bosses (or pvp – gotta love autoattack spammers)

you get so many more points if you’re alive and are able to engage in battle with a ghost, especially if you win. If the ghost isn’t very good, I can get 150ish points from a single fight.

pft! you should of gone for Yakslapper. total, you get 56 AP from it. over twice what you got for 5 legendaries

that said, I do agree something should be done about them. we should be able to craft silver doubloons from copper doubloons the same way gold doubloons are made.

- masterwork (green) items start at level 14; they’re about 2s-4s each on the TP. the specific ones don’t matter a whole lot at that level, but you can still pick ones that add to power / tough / vit (power increases direct damage, toughness will reduce how much damage you take, vitality will increase your hp, letting you take more hits)
- I assume you assigned your traits? might want to revisit which ones you chose now that you have more to work with.
- get more skill points to have more utility skills available to you.
- fighting more than one mob gets exponentially harder the more you do at a time. I’m only able to because I’m built for survivability, can dodge effectively, blink away if needed, and all my attacks cleave (deal damage to all nearby enemies instead of just one). Even still, 5 risen I would not willingly try this on. 5 highly downleveled (level 60 or less for a level 80 character); sure. you are being a bit ambitious there.

last night I did fotm. personal level 35, did fotm level 26. activated a heroes banner and karma booster before the maw. got about 14,000 karma after that hour-long dungeon (I also have karmic infusion). plus like 100 relics, which are good for 6+ obsidian shards (a 12,600 karma value, yours free!)
just do under-leveled fractals once a day or so and you’ll have more karma than you know what to do with.

yes. it’s also inconsistent. I might be approaching the champ but still out of range and it’ll target the non-agro’ed risen out of visibility off to the left instead.
it should at least target something that you are looking at.

it seemed to me that shattering hurt the prince when I did this ach… I guess it depends on how you use your clones.

you get a lot of points if you’re in a battle for a while – things like 10 points for evading or 10 points for running away. if the ghost isn’t trying to kill you, just stand there and swing when you’re ready, you could easily rack up 1000 points over 5 min.
I’ve got 150 from a minute-long legit battle before.

sorry, I’m just bitter at how all the non-critical bugs get overlooked for over a year.

scarlet invasions always seem like they would give a lot, but I frequently will get bugs where I will get gold credit for completing an event and closing a portal, only to be rewarded with like 17 karma.

living story is not a substitute for an expansion.
living story has given us: 1 new zone (southsun), some ascended items, a few new stat combo types, 1 new jumping puzzle, some rng item skins, change one dungeon path.
an expansion should almost double the current content: 10 new zones, 2 new playable races or professions, 2nd elder dragon fight, 15 new jumping puzzles, complete ascended tier, new weapon type, 4 new dungeons, change 10 existing dungeon paths to reflect zhaitan’s death (only accessible after you complete your personal story).
I would gladly pay $60 for an expansion instead of this living story

if you’re fractal level 48 and you beat level 38, you will get 9,440 karma (and 86 relics + 35 each day). If you’re strategic with karma boosters and banners and such, this can be boosted to 18,330 wait, birthday booster as well! 27,848 karma.
just find a good party that can do it in under 45 min and you’ll be overflowing with karma.

With all the hatred of Scarlet I’m seeing in this thread, you’d think people would be more eager to kill her during the invasion events instead of, say, repeatedly farming the champions.

the problem is that we’ve killed her like 100,000 times and she just keeps coming back. better to have her just back away into retirement.

most other people’s estimates for getting dust from ectos state 1.9 dust per ecto using master salvage kit.
personally, I use 1.8 for deciding if I’ll salvage or not. I was skeptical of the 1.9 number, so I did 1,000 salvages (4 stacks of ectos) and got about 1,820 dust from it.

that is an impressive amount of gold to start with considering you aren’t even done downloading the game!
when I started, I was given 5 silver. 5 silver is what I give all my friends who are just starting.
5 silver is like 10 times more than you need for levels 1-30, but it’s good to have extra so you aren’t always worried about going bankrupt or where to get gold.
when you start playing, focus on playing and exploring. I recommend saving 99.95% of that until at least you’re high enough level to be using rare-quality equipment (that’s around the point when you won’t just happen to find enough coin to buy everything you need before you could use it).
games add zones based on levels for a reason: you learn the basics of the game, then they add complexity, then they add more stuff. it slowly builds on itself. If you just jump in, you’ll end up buying a set of the wrong weight armor, or items you replace 30 seconds later, or 30 stacks of steel mining picks – just wasting your coins in general.

this isn’t the Alchemy app. not so sophisticated as to drag and drop one ingredient into another. gotta select what you want to make, then make sure you have enough ingredients, then say to make it.

scenario followed by a question:
1) equip legendary, making it soulbound
2) transmute legendary onto white, making it account bound
3) give white legendary to an alt
4) transmutation splitter it
what bound status does the legendary have at this point?

It was toned down. charr and norn other runners used to make this puzzle one of these hardest puzzles I’ve ever jumped. 4 hours to get to the end. this time around, I made it on try #6. last year, I graded it a 9/10 in difficulty (on par with obsidian sanctum when enemies are present). this year; probably 7, maybe 8 (same as winter wonderland or spekk’s lab)

I only got the 4 scarecrow finishers. figured that was normal, as the ach requires 20, and that gave 20, and they are only consumed when they are used, so that is enough.
I do know I logged in on an alt, and saw a mail come in, but then switched to my main, figuring I’d get whatever mail was related to the update there instead. I’ll check the alt’s mail tonight.
notebene is correct. you can cancel finishing and still get credit for using it (even though you didn’t consume it). I still have 20 scarecrow finishers yet and I have completed the ach. also, yeah, mists training npc. dulfy says the devs know about that bug and will fix in a patch.

you get different people buying the item if you sell it with rng vs. outright. with rng, you attract gamblers. with outright, you attract everyone. gamblers are notorious for spending more per person, whereas everyone has more people.
there have been a few gem store items that weren’t rng. the ones you mentioned. there have also been several outfits and fun things (kite, boombox, horn, town clothes, tunneling machine, broom). almost all of them were out-of-combat items.

it might be the case that the regular speed for ghosts is slower than alive player, to give alive people a bit of an advantage, but then give ghosts swiftness-on-kill so that they then match alive people’s speed.
in short: maybe ghost + swiftness = normal alive player’s run speed?

it works to transfer skins from one character to another, at least on almost all items (not trinkets, for example). I hear it even works on cultural armors.

Just run anything besides berserkers. it’s not 1-shot if you have a bit of toughness and/or vit. can’t go entirely afk, but I do have around 20% hp after taking one of those shots head-on (just can’t survive two in a row)

When someone opens their personal black lion delivery agent, not only can everyone else see and talk to it (then getting a notice that they can’t get anything out of it), but an icon appears on the mini map to summon all players within running distance.
that’s just mean.
same thing applies for the other infinite contracts.

There was a day a few weeks ago when they added ‘st’ to the list of curse words. it was jukitten really funny kittenuff to try and kittenop laughing at the sentences that it made.

because they are easy beginner professions. point-and-click style. most other professions require finesse or are not as straight-forward hack and slash.
As a mesmer main, I often get “sweet, we have a mesmer!” comments.
