I will admit, Scarlet trying to make some sort of biological cloning approach to creating mesmer technology does sound like an actual plan, but we’ll see where the story goes. It certainly fits in with Toxic Hybrid’s existence, being able to create life.
Weren’t Ellen and Kasmeer both in the Dragon Bash/Aetherblade (something) updates? I doubt that Kiel has enough time to moonlight as an aloof mesmer now that she’s on the council. As for E, didn’t Marjory say that the hand that was on her shoulder was a man’s, or something along those lines.
You forgot Marjory, for finding the Aetherblade hideout and her work in stopping the Tower of Nightmares
While I’ll agree, the prominent figures you pointed out are special, I’d say that most of them are just coincidentally involved in the plot. Rox and Braham weren’t targeted, they just happened to be victims of her Molten Alliance. Caithe and Jennah you can argue are actual targets, but I think she’d rather capture and study them (Jennah in specific) for her plans, rather than sacrifice for portals or something.

It’s literally in the volcano. If you go to the asura lab waypoint, then work your way down into the volcano, you should pass some of these. The Brisban ones are also in the side of a cliff.
If these holes are storage deposits, that just begs more questions >.< Who needed to store their stuff and leave?
Unfortunately, I don’t have constructive discussion for this, but I have been interested in the nature of these as well. For some reason, I always associate them with Skritt, even though we’re given numerous examples of actual Skritt homes. I assume the holes are tunnels to some sort of hollowed out cave or something, which to me seems like an insectoid thing. And of course, it could just be some species we’ve never seen or heard of, gone extinct long ago and kept here to give a ‘deeper’ look at the world of Tyria.
I think your viewpoint is more reasonable, but that’s subjective. Pet swapping and stowing is mechanics; in GW1, you just always had a pet out.
Dead, if you talk with some of the people around the camp, they are looking for her too and one of them says she died in the tower.
I don’t really have a method other than what cranked said, but just a warning that salvaging an exotic does not guarantee globs. There’s a chance of 1-3 with every weapon, but unless they changed it, you can also still end up with 0 globs from a salvage.
Obviously a mistype of some sort. In EotN, you can visit the ‘Pale Tree’, which is basically a small encampment with Ronan and Ventari and some others, with a small sapling which grows to be the Pale Tree. I suppose that’s what’s meant by the birth of sylvari.
They both are harpy-esque, and I can see the resemblance, but the Imbued Shaman is much more molten, which could possibly be related to Primordus corruption. The Fleshreaver looks…fleshy (I wish there was more importance for fleshreavers, they’re a cool species)
There’s at least one set per armor class that’s solely found in the story missions. You can get them in pvp, but for pve use, you can only get as story rewards. I think the shoulders aren’t even available
Well, if she said she’s traveling the world with the fur merchant, she’s probably not gonna be in any of the zones we have, since it sounds like that’s just a write off to get her out of there
On the wiki page (discussion), it seems starting at around 30 you have to do 4 rooms as opposed to the 3 that you do in story mode (ooze, maze, and lava).
If you want to be frugal, you can do it slowly by refining ascended materials to 475, but that takes a while. You can still craft exotics to level your craft
^Yes, but it’s hypothesized that it’s in the Maguuma Wastes, specifically. An NPC in Rata Sum says that it’s in the southwest of Tyria, but other than that, yes, we don’t actually know where it is.
Someone asked about the proximity of the tower in a different thread (it was a while ago, but I think the verdict was that it hasn’t moved). The Asuran equipment is related to a Peacemaker base there, you visit it during the Asura 20-30 storyline.
Edit: found the thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore/Wizard-Tower-moving-closer/first#post2831256
I don’t like the way most helms fit on Charr, so I’d probably choose the human
Race doesn’t affect gameplay, so Norn is fine (although you might find them to be a bit slow because of the way that size scales movement speed, even though in reality you’re moving as fast as any other character). I would say Mesmer or Necro have the better survivability, especially for soloing champions. Necro’s are really great because of the two health bars, and minions have a lot of health now I think. Mesmers are a bit more difficult to grasp, but when done effectively they’re a viable option as well. Elementalist imo is going to have a harder time taking hits, since compared to the other two it’s a completely solo class (except for some elemental summons)
The cycle leaders are probably exclusive to sylvari player characters, in the home instance.
Well, in the case of Zhaitan, his minions seem to believe they are on a mission to take over everything basically. They all seem to have their own goals, although they all inadvertently deal with consuming magic. I don’t think it’s backed up anywhere, but I feel like they wake up unknowingly, then pursue these goals, rather than “it’s time to wake up and balance the magic”.
(I think you’re asking if they’re the same dragons, like Eir is Eir, or if they’re just generic names, like The Shatterer is just a name given to the strongest lieutenant)
I like to think that it’s the same Elder Dragons, not just concepts, because how else are they created then? If after every rise, they just disappear, then what’s the explanation for their sleeping bodies (Kralk and Primordus in GW1)
^That theory was before we truly learnt about Scarlet, ala “What Scarlet Saw” (if I’m remembering correctly). Currently, she’s from our timeline/present.
The all stat weapon type (can’t think of a proper name right now) is called Celestial, which is in the same vein as Berserker or Knight’s or whatever gear except gives stats for everything, not just three. So you can find a hammer with the same stat gains, although I’m not sure if there’s a unique skin for one like Crystal Guardian.
WvW counts as a PvE activity, since you gain experience instead of glory.
Wait, you mean people can’t learn more than one skill? O.o
I’ll agree, the Toxic Hybrid is different from her other works, such as the Molten bosses and the Clockheart, which are more cyborg like. But, a possible explanation is that she has expanded her abilities to create biological weapons. She’s an intelligent Sylvari, having studied with multiple people of renown, so I don’t see it hard to believe that she learned a little more. We haven’t seen her for a while (in person), so that could be the reason for her absense
Interesting. I’ve only done about 4 or 5, but I guess it’s possible that there are other compositions. I know the final instance is Kasmeer and Marjory, and when I repeated it it was a solo instance.
Yeah, there’s an actual set called the “Pirate” armor, which is a medium armor
Couple of days late, but yes, Braham and Rox were in the toxic offshoot areas, although it was random. They’re both now in the Tower of Nightmares, in the instanced “Nightmare Chambers”. They have a chance of appearing, as do Marjory and Kasmeer (two of the four npcs will spawn per instance)
Heals should work, since they’re aoe effect to all allies (or the 5 most important depending on their status). ‘Revive’ skills only work on people who are downed, not ‘dead’. So allies like summons cannot be affected by your rez, since they fully die.
The power suit is a transformation technically, so any buffs you or others can apply to allies will work on you.
I always assumed Scarlet became like the Soundless, choosing to cut themselves off from the Dream. It doesn’t make sense for her to continue that connection with the Tree and all the other Sylvari if her main goal is to destroy that connection and the predetermination that it insinuates.
Where exactly is this? I just did a quick lookaround the outer ring, but didn’t see anything. Or I’m reading it wrong, and you did acknowledge that you broke out of the map and found this ;p
In which case, it’s probably just developer notes of some sort, since stuff that’s not meant to be seen isn’t necessarily ‘real’
I think it works rather well, although I’d argue GW2 is more magitech than sci-fi. Still, this is a really cool idea, and executed nicely
I think that most, if not all, are from the personal story missions, around 40-60. I’m not positive, but I remember the hat and chest are rewards, probably all the other pieces too
Nice! At first I thought it was all a painting, but it blends together nicely. And as said, the movement of the characters is awesome
Everything Mercury said sounds good, although a minor thing is that the first skill point (noose road), can be solo’d (the one with the champ noble roaming). Due to the path it takes, you can avoid aggro with it, killing all the other mobs nearby, then communing. There’s a little alcove area to the right of the skill point (right when you’re going up the steps, looking at the wall) that you can use to hide. Enemies won’t aggro on the other side, unless they already saw you.
CoF armor comes in zerker stats…
Those are probably personal decisions to ignore parts of the lore (the calendar, for example) since there have been multiple ‘iterations’ of what the year and the seasons are like. Of course, Anet gets the final say, since they make the game, but the playerbase can choose what to believe, right or wrong
No, you have to get all six of the armor pieces. The way Lexy described here
“Yeah just one full set. So for example you could get Heavy helm, chest and legs, med gloves and shoulders and light boots all from the Norn T3 collection and it counts as your ‘full set’ of T3.”
You can mix between armor classes, but you have to get helm, chest, gloves, shoulder, legs, boots, of each tier, which would be 18 unique pieces. If you got all three T3 chest pieces, that counts as one piece toward the achievement.
Yes. Every time of experience booster stacks with each other. Food, potions, EXP boosts, guild boosts, banner boosts, and birthday booster all work in conjunction
you should only need all the stuff for map completion, not the zones. So I’d visit the Chantry one last time, and then email support (maybe go to LA also)
That’s a subjective question, so our advice might be something you find horrendous
I suggest going to Heart of the Mists, which is the PvP lobby, and you can go to the pvp locker and preview every armor in the game
The tickets were for entry into a ‘boss mode’ type minigame. Basically you progress through a tournament of different bosses and mechanics, so if that’s your type of thing, i’d save them. It seems like you get a lot of tickets, but if you make it far, you’regonna want all the tickets you can get (only got up to the third one i think :/)
Wintersday stuff (the cogs and soldier frame) will probably be coming back, but they’re only useful for making a tonic or mini, if you don’t care for those. The baubles are needed later, but if you’re not into that particular LS (I’m not a fan of the SAB), then you don’t need those. Miya’s wig and all the like are just used for making a mini. Queen’s gauntlet tickets will be coming back, you’ll probably get more when the time comes.
Anise and Jennah could have been childhood friends, and when Jennah started growing up, maybe around her teens, Anise was starting to become a bodyguard-esque figure, a lady-in-waiting. “Princess” could be any time up until ten years before the story (I think that’s how long she’s been queen), and we don’t know Jennah’s age. So Anise could totally be a bodyguard and personal friend.
For the quotes, she probably said Grenth and not Lyssa because of a guardian spirit, sort of saying “Pray that Grenth doesn’t take you/protects you from death”. The luxury/bound line is also more probably just referring to the fact that she can’t step down from the Shining Blade, or do whatever she wants like the PC/Logan (not sure who she’s talking to). Her duty as the Exemplar is to protect the Queen, so she’s bound
mm, didn’t notice that the regular mobs weren’t risen. bualdfl;ankc
I assume we’re just talking about the krait protecting obelisk shards? If we think that the Toxic Alliance krait are corrupted by dragons, then they could arrive to Mt. Maelstrom in current day, and not be affected by whatever lingering Zhaitan corruption is there.
Don’t shoot the messenger ;p
But yeah, this patch makes it known that it’s not the whole NC
A new one was just added today, in Kessex Hills, as well. If it’s not one of those above, it’s probably this one
Scarlet supposedly has shards of Krait obelisks, which is why they’re willing to work with the NC. Also, the NC are just a splinter faction, which somewhat lessens the blow that they’re involved in this as well. And there are a bunch of NPCs in the camp now that speculate on the alliance, claiming that Krait are the ring leaders or that the NC are the ring leaders. As for the numerology, one of the NPC’s talks about both species, and the PC can say something about how the Krait seem primitive, but the NPC replies that they’re pretty smart, they’re good with math.
They already have a chainsaw skin for swords/greatswords, so I find it unlikely that they’d add it’s own weapon category. As for Engineer melee weapons, they’ve said that’s something they’re looking into, definitely more likely than this to happen (probably a main hand mace).
