Only backpacks after launch/through updates are visible. You get a couple during the PS that don’t have an appearance, so I’d guess the same is true of ones gained through dungeons (even though they were added after launch). Stupid, but yeah, no skin

I just visited each of the major cities and talked to the NPC’s, trying to find interesting info. That happened to be one of them. I had a couple more about the location of Primordus/destroyers, but that might be obsolete given the chatter is over a year old.

From my knowledge, there are no exotic weapons for karma (I could be wrong). What you’re describing, however, is the cultural weapons, which cost 63k karma and are rares. They are mostly bought for skins, but if you want to progress in gears, instead of just going straight for the top, you can buy it. I think it would be better to just use the karma for exotic armor pieces, then you only have to worry about your weapons.
WvW still counts as a PvE environment, so you’re gonna need to upgrade your pve armor/weapons. If you go to Spvp, you can just change the aesthetics of your character, but you’re already at max gear.
Anyway, I’d suggest familiarizing yourself with the dungeons. They’re an easy way to get full exotics, and are good money. With that karma, you can get exotic temple gear (the 6 temples in Orr that have metas and karma vendors). They’re good if you just want the max armor, and don’t mind what the stat boosts are (they have a limited choice).
Thus far, the vigil and priory have had background positions in the living story. Way back in Halloween of last year, and during the southsun events, the Priory were on the scene researching the supernatural events going on. Vigil were as recent as Tequatl Rising, being that they’re the ones using the mega laser and are generic NPC’s around that area. I’m sure that if Anet does an actual expansion rather than living story, the orders and racial story steps will be prominent again.
Probably thief for the stealth (useful in some speed runs). Either one is fine, but I think some people don’t like rangers because they don’t understand how the pet works.
You can play pretty much any class, although Ele and Necro probably have the highest amount of ground targets. Ranger only has a few, Engineer has little unless you trait for it, if you avoid shortbow on Thief you can play that, and Guardian only has aoes on staff and scepter (maybe focus too).
Those are WvW laurel vendors, they are cheaper in terms of laurels but require a stack of badges. Since it is WvW, you can use it in PvE. I don’t play much pvp, but I don’t think there are ascended gear vendors/laurel people, even though you do get them with dailies
First off, you could always join a new guild. I know those guilds where everyone’s on and no one talks, it’s annoying. Anyway, if you use the LFG tool, you will get automatically grouped with people, but you have to be in the zone to join the dungeon (if you’re doing Ascalonian Catacombs, you have to be in Plains of Ashford to get the instance prompt). People are generally looking for 80’s because they’d be fully traited, which means they have max stats. The way that scaling in the game works isn’t perfect, so a level 80 with full exotic gear is still stronger than a level 30 with masterworks (which is the highest you can get at that level), even if the 80 is effectively level 30. In short, 80’s are stronger than in-progress characters. Some people don’t mind, but as Ozmaniandevil said, time is everyone’s most important thing, so they want to be done in 10 minutes or not at all.

I’m fairly certain that “Smodur the UNFLINCHING” will not waver on the charr’s stance on the Flame Legion. He’s radical, but I don’t think he’d be that crazy as to forgive the flame and bring them back into the High Legions. And if he did, I’m sure that the other legions/Imperators would oust him, no matter how much good he’s been doing.
I think it’s two different types of sigils can stack. For example, sigil of bloodlust (which gives stacks per enemy killed) with a sigil of force work together, since one counts kills and the other is always active. If both are the same type (always active, or a kill counter) then the main hand takes precedence.
What exactly would be her reasoning for killing Snaff? For a Sylvari, and one with a Wyld Hunt, I’d think if she had the opportunity to kill a dragon she would, rather than make some roundabout method that involves not killing Kralk and killing Snaff, thus breaking apart DE

I don’t have the black widow pet unlocked, so that’s just coincidence that I’m using the jungle spider (I like the poison skill as opposed to the bleeding that most other ranged pets have). And as for the black moa, I think it’s a reskin of the pink moa, but I just like the daze/shows off my HoM stuff XD

Wars are easy, but as you say overrated/played. Same with Guards, although I’d suggest you make an exception for them since they’re pretty fun/useful. Thief is usually squishy, they need a little help in that department. Elementalist are actually pretty easy to play (staff ele, you’ll learn more stuff as you play along). Necros are big on condition damage, which aren’t that effective right now, but they do have other options. Engineer is ‘fun’ (I personally don’t think so, but to each his own), and Ranger is kinda underplayed imo. Mesmer I’d wait on, but they’re very versatile.
I personally use the Black Moa and a jungle spider, I believe. All of the HoM pets are just reskins of other pets, so the only difference is appearance, not skill. That being said, if you want to play ranger, I’d suggest taking one melee pet, and one ranged, so you have versatility (instead of two melee pets)
A story arc of some kind is probably the best solution to getting exposition in game. I think someone asked why these short stories aren’t in-game, and Anet has said that it’s because they have no way of implementing it. Text in this game is mainly just a few sentences, unless they can make it like the PS tab on the Hero panel where it tells a few paragraphs. Also, people don’t really read in-game (majority just skip skip, or read once then ignore every other time).
Depends on the salvage kit you used. Black Lion ones are the best, they have the most chance of giving inscription stuff/ectos/dark matter. Next best is Mystic Salvage/whatever the rare value one you can buy from a merchant is.
(as someone who just made 4 new characters and used an experience scroll on them, and has only made 15 levels in 5~ days, you’re doing good). Anyway, people have suggested crafting, which is the fastest way. However, if you’re just starting out, you won’t be able to effectively do it (unless you buy gems), since you need a lot of money to craft to 80, especially since they changed the crafting exp for 500 levels. When you get to level 35, you can start doing AC, which is Ascalonian Catacombs. It’s the first dungeon, and when you complete a dungeon path you get 70% of a level in exp, so you can get some quick levels that way. As stated, however, people usually ask for 80’s (but if you have friends/guild, you can ask them to help you). Just open world content alone, solo play, the next best thing is just mapping and finding any events you can. They by far are the fastest ‘mapping’ stuff for exp. Along the way, you get achievements, and some of them give experience for completing as well (daily/monthly do, not sure about the general achievements.)

Yeah, probably just the lighting. It looks like you’re in a Maguuma location, and the Sylvari areas are usually lit up very ethereally, so it’s probably just the place.

Didn’t we get to play as skeletons in a mini-game during halloween? Or they were allies. But even with that aside, I’d say no skeletons because that’s structurally weak to be just bone. Necromancers use fleshy creatures because that’s sturdier than just animating a skeletal structure.
Depending on the legendary, you can probably afford to just buy the precursor and make it yourself. Finish mapping on that character, which gives you a gift you need, and then the rest (depending on the legendary again) is relatively a matter of farming/buying mats.
For all that is good in this world, do not delete a level 80. As was said, you might regret it later, and you can always use the extra space/variety. If you don’t like any of those three, you still have two slots to experiment other classes. Guardian is a pretty solid choice, so just tinker around with it and see if you find stuff to your interest.
Dragonite is always a problem, but it also sounds like you aren’t in a populated server for pve. When you do your daily/log on, use gw2stuff.com (or the overlay) to see when metas will pop up. If you’re lucky, you can get a good chain of them, but only the orr temples and other high end metas give substantial dragonite (about 30), so it’s just a continuous grind from the day to day. You’ll get enough eventually

Not sure if this is what you meant, but did you hover over the nameof each map? For example, hover your mouse over “Metrica Province”. It’ll tell you if you’re missing stuff, without having to actually zone in there. I’d suggest just looking at every map again, including WvW. Probably are at 99% on a couple of them, so it looked like it was done.
Easy to do AC 1/3, compared to HotW where most people only run path 1. Some people run path 3, but path 2 is way longer and lesser ran.
There are three in caledon (or two, there’s Morgan’s Spiral which may or may not be two JP’s) and another one in the very south of the map which is very easy. One in queensdale (demon grub pits), one in Metrica (goemm’s lab, but it’s on the difficult side) there might even be another one in Metrica. Wayfarer has Shaman’s Rookery, pretty easy also. So that’s about 5, and I’m sure there are a couple others in the 15-25 zones you can do (one’s in Diessa I believe)
Yeah, Ranger sword takes a bit of getting used to. I also forgot to mention ranger greatsword, but (from what I’ve gathered) it’s not a great weapon. Has a block, some vulnerability, I think bleeding, and a leap.
So in all, I’d say Warrior, although main hand (and off hand) are VERY 1v1 specific.
Sword professions are Guard, War (in offhand as well), Ranger, Thief, and Mesmer. GS is for Guard, War, Ranger, and mesmer, although you dislike the laser beam so that nixes Mesmer. Imo, main hand sword is best on guard, war, or ranger. Thief is very niche based, and so is mesmer (both deal with boon ripping). Ranger sword deals with crippling and poison, war sword is cripple and spike damage, and guard sword is mainly just damage dealing.
Unless there’s some secret use, it’s the latter I’m afraid
If you don’t want to do the event, you can get all the stuff in that area by just swimming around teh island. One of the poi’s you have to go into the tunnel guarded by the golems, but other than that, you can just swim around the island, going right up against the walls to get the Wp and other poi

I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it was about a day after reset, but still, it showed a bunch of stuff that wasn’t in-game. Frostgorge is a good map too, but it only has 2 of both saplings and ori nodes. Cursed and Malchor have at least 3
The nodes change location every reset, and are server dependent. You used to be able to use orrmaps.com, but last I checked it wasn’t even close to being correct. Personally, I just run Malchor’s or Cursed Shore, from Pagga’s Waypoint west, past the Melandru statue (usually a sapling or ori ore near it), across the brige and balthazar statue, then go towards Lyssa’s Temple. From there, just kind of comb the area to Dwayna’s, and sometimes I check past the “Doric’s Shrine” poi. If you go all the way to the Grenth Statue, you’ve gone too far, there’s only ever a rich mithril node.
For Cursed Shore, your best bet is just running south from Melandru’s Temple all the way to the Mausolus Sea. Most of the nodes are in that path, or just a bit from the trail.
I’ve got a sylvari ranger, probably the easiest to make lore-friendly. I’d say second would Norn Ranger, because of the spiritual attunement, and being called to the hunt. As you said, Charr and Humans are both pretty neutral on it, they fit, but not as much as the other two. Asura don’t fit too much, but you could make anything work if you tried hard enough
Not everything is about being top tier. But, if you are just looking for that, then yes, don’t go altoholic (although all my guys are now exotic equipped, working on trinkets for ascended but that’s not going to happen in a day no matter how I play)

You have to unlock the trait levels once, so it’s a mandatory 3 + gold. After that, you can do what you want for a cheap price. Probably has something to do with vertical progression, instead of just letting you unlock the traits whenever you want

Unfortunately, you probably already used the grandmaster training manual before you took your break. So, a wasted 2 gold there. What you want to do to reset traits is go to the trait person, and instead of saying you want to buy a book, choose the other option which is something like “I’d wish to reset my traits” or something. They’ll ask are you sure? It costs about 3 silver or something
