If you JUST want the rewards, it might be difficult to play GW1 through for the HoM points. Since you’ve played it before, you’ll have to judge if you want to put up with the time to get a few skins/titles/achievement points.
Sounds like a cool idea, but I was hoping it would be geared towards Commanders. It would be an easy way to see “Alright, this Commander is a WvW veteran, he’s a public figure and we can trust him”. And also, we could see “This guy is cool, but he’s really just a rich person and bought the title for vanity”.
As to the problem with swaying votes for people, you could also just do a system where a person can only vote on a particular player once, which can be changed at will. That gives a cap that can be achieved, and also prevents griefing of some sort
Green stats when you’re comparing two items shows what is the better of the two: for example, the bow on the left is superior to the bow on the left, which is why all the stats are green. The bow on the right is superior in vitality, since the left one doesn’t have a vitality stat, and also has more condition damage, which is why the number is only highlighted. The power is the same, so it’s white
Yeah, on a Norn character Eir will talk about going to Ascalon.
As stated, you probably wont’ notice it much at your level, but it might make a difference later on. Also to consider is the fact that yes, vulnerability only affects physical attacks, not conditions. As a necro, you probably have a few bleeds and poisons, but those won’t be affected by vuln.
Most likely its related to WvW. It was added in the Halloween patch, but that’s also when the Season 1 started, so perhaps it’s from the serverwide chest when it’s over?
I just wiki’d it, Mightier than the Sword is the Priory level 38/39 quest, where you defeat the SoS… And yes, I know that it’s not the invite mail sent by the Herald, but the DE guys send you mail that hint at what dungeon they’re in
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-guide-to-blood-and-madness/
I believe you get scaled up for most everything, so it shouldn’t matter what level you are.
Ah, I see. That mail is just a check up that Zojja sends, since you’re an Asuran character. What she’s talking about is the dungeon “Caudecus’ Manor”. She’s just saying “Hey, good job with what you’re doing, I’m over here with Logan and you could stop by if you want”.
I agree it seems somewhat out of character for Krait, but the teaser to me just screamed Nightmare Court involvement. My guess is that somehow the Krait are worshipping them, or something along those lines, since the quote was like “They’ve heard whispers of power”, so maybe they were ok with being influenced for more power
Just watched it again, there is definitely some purple glowing through a crack, and some roots breaking through the tower. I was gonna say that the corrupted krait looked reminiscent of the SB/underworld related things, but they also look like one of the husks that NC members have. We’re all entitled to our own opinions, but I’m feeling Mordremoth/NC involvement somehow (maybe not scarlet)
However, the use of “Nightmare” seems prominent, and the krait shown are obviously afflicted somehow. And do we know who the voice over woman is supposed to be? I think she did the TAss video too, and that was for Scarlet…
Unless she’s unrelated and Anet just decided sinister sounding women were great for teasers
Funny you should mention that, I just got two or three dyes from icebrood mobs in the last half hour, and my mf was at almost 200%
If you ignore the legendary events, the other two types are really fast/easy (loads of normal and vet mobs, and the other type is just a veteran mob). The legendary mobs take a good 10 or 20 minutes, so I just ignore them (not worth the champ bag, but two of them have a daily chest)
I’d agree, but in my case, I’m on my ninth character getting to 80, with a few more still, so leveling is more of a hassle than an enjoyable part of the game.
Oh yeah, go to the Labyrinth, pop on an experience booster or food, and you can get levels like crazy in there.
Yeah, guesting is a solution. But to me it sounds like you just need better armor/weapons, since taking a vet and some adds shouldn’t be impossible. Lornar’s Pass is about as difficult as Harathi Hinterlands, although imo is more barren.
Which zone exactly? Humans and centaurs is very vague (about 3, maybe 4 of the zones have that). Also, most events can be solo’d, except for those group events with champions obviously.
I believe most of the blues (besides the backpack as mentioned) are available on the TP. Or at least some, as was said. Green and yellow are only available through playing the SAB
Isn’t that “Head Slaver Nymfasa” krait a mesmer? I feel like one of them in the personal story is, at least.
Even T6 nodes? I know that the other ores/saplings respawn more than once a day, but I figured that the ori and saplings were daily
Mesmer is one of the harder classes to master, especially in solo pve. You are probably just seeing clones, and not phantasms spawn. Clones are high hp, low damage illusions, while phantasms are high damage, low hp illusions. The trick is to use your damage dealing ones and your tanky ones, and use the shatters appropriately
My bad, I knew something was up since that one krait discussion thread about the redesign
Well, the witches are mesmers, and the mysterious void is mesmer magic (I’m assuming). And I feel like Scarlet isn’t involved; usually, we have a month of non-scarlet stuff. But perhaps Ellen Kiel will come back with a new fractal since it’s been a few months since she’s been gone.
Krait are from the ocean, and were being pushed to land during EotN. By GW2 time, DSD has pushed most of the krait to land, which is where their current locations are. Forgotten are up in the air to some extent, but one idea is that the Gods brought them to Tyria like the humans. A different idea is that they’ve been on Tyria even before that, because they helped release Glint from Kralkatorrik’s influence. Which brings us to the immunity part; Krait had the orb, which has an unknown origin (probably only one, or few, DSD related?). They can still be corrupted otherwise. Forgotten, for all we know, are not immune, but do have the power to reverse corruption (as shown with Glint and Arah Forgotten path).
I think what’s confusing is that we have three snake-like races that aren’t related.
Ori and saplings are on daily cooldowns per character. Example: you mine an ori node on a thief, you can’t access that node until reset (5PM server time) or you can switch to another character and mine that node.
Also, every new build moves resource nodes, so whatever site you’re using to track the nodes are probably still gathering info/not up to date.
I feel like the lumber is being used for some sort of mega larder, rather than any siege weapons (the only siege I can think of are their turrets). It would explain why the ‘void’ is a pillar, rather than a bubble. Also, whatever they’re doing is making the surrounding area warmer (Kasmeer and I think Marjory mention that they’re starting to sweat).
In theory, things like more factions in the Charr race could work, but in-game, I doubt that would happen. Mainly because playable characters are only given the good side (you can’t join Inquest/Nightmare Court). So if the Blood Legion were to split up, and create another side faction that was against the peace treaty, that could technically split the player base (people who made a blood legion charr).
(Skimmed most of this thread)
Anyway, I was just in Sparkfly Fen, and Warmaster Narru ambiently comments “At least this locale is better than Southsun Cove”. Connecting the dots, Southsun Cove confirmed Zhaitan’s death (or defeat, but I think you’re arguing semantics and trying to make him be alive still), so Tequatl getting the new powers and such is after Zhaitan’s death as well.
I believe that we, like Caithe, are given the task to fight ALL the dragons, not just Zhaitan.
The food and crystal will work together/not cancel out. As will one of the boosters (laurel or XP booster), although I’m not positive that both will work. So at worst, three of the four will work together
In the typical asuran fashion, they’re smart in more magitechnical ways, which is what i meant by lore-friendly. Obviously, being a tactician requires brains, as Efut is.
Very interesting. That’s definitely one of the Ranger warhorn effects, and can also be attributed to the legendary warhorn “The Howler”, but those are both null and void since you’re a Guard. Unless you’re pulling our legs somehow x.x
*knew
The ones that have graves usually have people nearby that tell what they did, or on the grave itself. Someone more knowledgeable than me could fill you in more, but I can say that Ogden is still around, a Magister of the Durmand Priory.
Would be nice to give an explanation of what this Witcher character is like, since some people (me) have not read it and therefore have no idea what to compare to XD
Not really my jurisdiction, but I don’t want the moderators to shut/move this thread to Guild Recruitment, so you guys should just send in-game messages to the officers (whom I’ve noted and they’ve made themselves known). As for the TTS repping, [Lore] has never really been a one guild repping…guild. Which is in part why we are no where near capacity, or able to unlock guild missions (we’ve got some bounty trainings, I think). But it would help activity if you did rep [Lore] when you play, because then there will be others to talk to/increase activity, rather than 30 people in the guild, 11 online, and 3 repping, with 2 of them in our home server. Yes, those were dark times
Weren’t those Flame Legion charr also?
@Elric, since I just played the Iron Legion storyline, I can tell you that the Charr do not feel that way. The flame yes, since they tried to sabotage the construction of the Ghostbore musket technology. If the ghosts are gone, that gives more time to focus resources on the Flame Legion, instead of endlessly fighting ghosts.
The Charr may seem like their only goal is to kill and conquer, but that’s just the way of life they’ve had since coming into conflict with the humans. Everything so far has just been a fight to keep their rightful land, (I’ll have to look up why they invaded Norn areas initially, but I’m going to guess it was a vindication to eradicate the humans once and for all).
The backpack (living story tab) meta is active until the end of october, but the dungeon path and achievements under the ‘dungeon’ tab, including the mini, are permanent.
IMO, the Inquest haven’t really said that the dragons will kill us all. I mean, if they’re working on harnessing their energies, then that in some degree means they’re confident the dragons can be subjugated. Yes, Alpha went awry as did Kudu, but I doubt they’d take that as a sign to stop. If anything, that’s a reason to keep going, since they got so close.
The real question is, will we ever see the Modus Sceleri do something?
Consortium have been on and off, so I’m sure they’ll come back in a few months
The initial effects of the field is up to the person who lays it down, the finisher is dependent on the person doing the finishing. So, the water field laid down by an ele (me), has an x amount regen/heal, and then you, the guardian, uses a blast finisher to give area healing. Your stats affect the area healing amount, and is independent of my healing
Indeed, sounds like a server issue. As Talyn suggested, the top wvw servers are usually pretty good (having friends in TC and guested to some of the others, am in SoR). Most of the people that run dungeons do it for speed runs, so unless you look otherwise, you can assume they have the mentality that you described. Personally, when I run with friends, I ask for people who don’t mind taking it a bit slower, or who are just in general nice, and not gonna get upset at the tiniest things.
Well, Ventari didn’t know that the seed he and Ronan planted would lead to the Sylvari race. He just wanted to make a peaceful society, so he and Ronan and others made a camp, and he made his tablet for them and anyone else who happens to come across it.
It’s probably one of the necromancer starter facepaints.
I see Mai Trin as just a pawn for Scarlet, seeing as the Aetherblades are basically hostage to her. The main goal was to get someone on the Council, so Mai was a better option than Scarlet (because even after the name change, some people would know who she was).
As for the ‘nasty secret’, given the info that Konig just reiterated, I think Scarlet’s just a nutcase now, claiming to have a secret to lure Caithe and kill her. Caithe is just annoyed at whatever Scarlet’s planning, seeing as her character has no problem with murdering people (replay a sylvari character, the first 30 levels she’s a bloodthirsty thief).
Dumb? No. Lore-friendly? Probably not.
Anyway, my warrior is actually the shortest you can make an Asura XD. Animations are fun, but just do what you want, it’s your game to play
“Until the day before the inaugural World vs. World Season, we’re reducing the prices for moving to a new home server! Transfers to a Medium population world are free, and moving to a High population server has been discounted to just 800 gems – but only until October 17!
You can transfer worlds using the World Selection button on your character selection screen. ~RB2"
So, it sounds like it’s already in effect?
Hmmm, I’ve got it in my notes as the Far Shiverpeaks, but since it sounds like Aaron just went to check on it for this, I guess I made that up x.x
Also, I was imagining the water above Frostgorge to be said sea, but now that I think about it, that’s just Drakkar Lake now?
Unrelated, but is it possible that any places we don’t have a zone of could just be a hypothetical representation of the area? IE, all that water above Frostgorge is just an assumption, it’s really smaller (or bigger)?
