Loosing FPS when turning? that’s pretty normal, it has to render all the new frames you are looking at and also all the people, also, gw2 is very badly optimised.

In my opinion, you will be able to run on mid-high without lag for most places/content (probably around 45fps+ and dip to 30ish in cities, probably wont be noticeable, WvW will be similar to cities and pretty bad in zergs (lowest should still get 20+ fps in zergs, but that’s the same for everyone, you could build yourself a beast of a computer and still not be lag-free in WvW at high+ settings)

You might be able to run on high and maybe get 15-20fps.

I am just basing this off my laptop (V3-571G, very similar specs but mines a bit older, so I took what I got and added another 10+fps to my estimates)

You would probably find it better in the long run (you will probably WvW at some point, or at least want to) just to pick a t1 server, like tarnished coast/blackgate/jade quarry.

Basically, it will change a registry value to keep your cores un-parked (you can allow them to park as well, just change the setting) (sometimes, processors with multiple cores will ‘park’ cores to save power when they are not being used, and having to start them up again takes time (not much, actually)) and by leaving them un-parked can give you upwards of 5-10+ FPS (I gained around 10 or so for my i5 3210m which was constantly parking its two logical cores and one of the physical cores)

Its annoying as hell and a lot slower, I liked it before ^^

Yeah, shortly after posting that I went and gave it a good clean, now I’m sitting at around 70-80C so that’s fine =p

Gw2 pushes my laptop to about 90-95C and on rare cases 99-100 (if I turn up my heat pump to warm up the room and are doing intensive stuff like teq fights etc) Its not really a problem for me, my laptop has an i5 3210m (not too bad, I got the laptop pretty cheap a few years ago) and its tjunction is 105C, so anything less then that is fine and I don’t really worry about it, and even then, most modern cpu’s have a shut-off temperature (which I think is around 110C + where it will automatically shut itself off to avoid damage, at least that’s what I have read)

Just look up your CPU and see what temperature ratings it has, really though, you should be fine.

Eh, looks alright I guess. This is what I would do:

Take soldiers armour instead of zerkers if you want more survivability (keep everything else berserker), take 5 points out of Honor and put 4 into virtues for absolute resolution ( the extra condi clense is great ) and 1 into radiance for blind on justice. Get yourself a full rune set, travellers are pretty good for that movement speed, helps a lot in fights. Probably use a different food, like sliced candied dragon rolls for the precision (lifesteals alright too)

For the last 7 minutes (yes, 7 full minutes and counting) I have been sitting at the loading screen for the crown pavilion, the little circle has been spinning the entire time. I have never had a loading screen longer then 20ish seconds.

Anyone know what the hell is going on?

There are no problems with my net and there are no problems with my computer.

Update: after 9 minutes it kicked me back to a empty character select screen which was all messed up and did not load properly, seriously, what the hell was that?

^^ Lol, stop giving bad advice. All of the guardians ‘support’ can be provided whist running a meta DPS build, we are NOT a supporter class, our DPS is pretty kitten high (run the kitten meta builds, don’t try to be some PVTHero failsupporter and drag down any good groups~)

Also, do not use a meditation build in PvE, its just bad and offers nothing.

If you salvage or bind it in any way (i.e. equip it), you will unlock the skin to your account bound wardrobe, which can be accessed by any of your characters, however, if it was the medium weight monocle, you will only be able to use it on medium-armour classes.

In before the ‘pay-to-win’ people start crying about it.

I probably wouldn’t get it because I already have the salvomatic but I’m sure someone out there would pay for it, lol.

Refer to this for anything guardian/PvE related, you should not be using the same build/gear for PvE and WvW.

As for WvW, You would probably be better off taking 2 points out of zeal and putting 1 in radiance (blind on justice, can actually get you a stomp and the blind is useful) and 1 in honor (its not perm anymore, but the vigor will help)

Use a full rune set, strength Is alright but I still prefer travellers for WvW just because it means I don’t have to worry about movement speed. Also, don’t get stacking sigils, you would be better of with something else, like blood/air/force/accuracy etc.

focus is a better offhand everywhere, and sword main-hand can be more useful then sceptre, just personal preference.

Essentially, soldiers armour + berserker everything else works well for roaming, and get an extra berserker set of armour for PvE (also grab a sword/hammer/staff for PvE use as well)

Great idea, make me pay a fee each month to remove something that should have never been added in the first place.

For gw2? I would venture at not too much, gw2 mostly relies on the CPU.

Went from 1g getting you 9 gems yesterday to getting 17 gems now, maybe someone or a group of people spent a large amount of money on gems and converted it all to gold?

Either way, shame it didn’t happen a few days ago, I could have saved quite a bit buying gems, haha.

Ok so its been a number of months and my friend decided to start playing again, and basically, we don’t understand the new way of how you are supposed to unlock your traits etc etc.

Back when I first started, things were very simple, you had a book at level 10, a book at level 40 and a book at level 60. that was it. you unlocked all your traits up to those levels and everything was easy and made sense.

Now, my friend is trying to get traits for his character, the training manuals no longer work and looking at the profession trainer, its going to cost 260 skill points and 28g just to unlock all the traits as they all are now sold individually (260 skill points for a new player to get their traits is ridiculous and 28g is just as ridiculous, not including the new grandmasters)

Am I missing something here? all my characters have been 80 for over a year so I don’t really have any recent experience with the way its supposed to work now, however, that seems excessively stupid and not very well thought out if that’s how its supposed to be…..

Zerker longbow/greatsword

An i5 or i7 would probably be a better choice if you plan on running gw2 primarily, and while a better GPU can help a little, you wont really notice much compared to the difference in CPU’s

Maybe if it spawned a clone on top of them that followed them around in melee range and eliminate the leap/slide problem all together ^^

It’s absolutely horrible every time, you cast it and pray to the six that it actually does what its supposed to do instead of doing absolutely nothing or running in the opposite direction and screwing you over :’(

Passive: 15% movement speed
Active: 20 seconds AOE swiftness (900 range) (50 second cd)

looks fairly solid, although I would swap out smite condition for purging flames, its an aoe cleanse and a much better option then smite in a zerg, and contemplation for wall of reflect/hallowed ground/whatever else at the time depending on what you need.

Swapping purity or retributive amour out for strength in numbers would be beneficial.

I suppose you could swap out purity sigils for renewal sigils for some more healing if you wanted to.

You could probably change runes but exuberance are fairly solid. have you looked at melandru/hoelbrak? that would help with the condi’s

@twisted, guardians have always been able to do more DPS then warriors, it is just that warriors are ‘easy’ to achieve a moderately high amount of DPS and you do not have to play as well. Also, warriors do not outshine guardians in ‘nearly every way’

Guardians provide their support through utilities and some traits (which you pick up in the meta builds, ie blind /vulnerability spam) This support is defensive support consisting of blinds/blocks/reflects/cleanses. which means that you should be in berserker gear for 100% of PvE content, as any other gear type is detrimental. Knights armour, however, is acceptable as training wheels if you really do not feel comfortable in zerker.

Warriors provide the offensive support, through banners, vulnerability and some might/fury (ele’s do most of the stacking imo)

Its really up to you which you want to play as, I have both and prefer my guardian pretty much everywhere, the 11k hp doesn’t even bother me.

I like how spectral walk has no range limit and can port you like 3000 distance back. Also, wurm doesn’t seem to have a limit either, I set mine in my spawn and ran to the other side of the map and it was still alive and I was able to port 1200 distance in that direction

I don’t get the point of making this one so rare when the others were not? quite a lack of inconsistency.

So that was the premises for the story, I had suspicions I guess but I really wasn’t sure.

Have you thought about writing a prologue of perhaps a few chapters perhaps about the characters as they were people and how they became stuck in the game, waking without their memories, placed before the start of the story, then perhaps time-skip it to the current start of your story?

Something like that may provide a bit more of a background to the story and give other readers more of an idea of what to expect and what was going on~

I really like how it looks, also, I haven’t come across the ‘clipping’ issue yet~

I read the first few pages, but I couldn’t really get into it, it just felt so… disjointed, like It did not know what it was trying to be, so to speak. Is It trying to be a novel about a game? are the ‘characters’ actually people playing the game? are they in the game themselves?

Honestly, I feel that it may have worked better if it has been a complete fantasy world based from the game, still keep your characters and all that, but none of this ‘selected her skills for her skill bar’ or the ‘targeting’ with ‘npc’ and ‘red named’ but written as if everything had been real, none of that ‘selected … skill on the skill bar and activated said skill’ but more like the character used their magic as a spell that they had learned, which is essentially what’s happening in-game anyhow.

That, or perhaps have written it as though the characters has been actual people inside the ‘game’ in which case those elements would have fitted in better (sword art online anybody?)

Either way, it just wasn’t one for me to read, nice work though, It looks like you put a lot of effort into that and I’m sure other people would have enjoyed it~

P.S. You should probably change your title to something like “MARA Guild – Light Novel Story – FanFic” or something, it helps the thread a bit more~

Most likely a zerker meditation build, perhaps some soldiers in the mix. It really does counter zerker thieves, but struggles against condition thieves.

I’d like to see more of both, sometimes, I like skimpy, other times, I like not-so-skimpy but there is a place in my wardrobe for everything =p

Hmm, since you already have bits and pieces, spend a bit more and get yourself a better CPU, something like an i7-4770k (not too much more expensive, but I’m not aware of current exchange rates between eur and au) if you primarily play gw2, as gw2 relies very heavily on the cpu. A good motherboard (I have heard good things about the MSI z97) and perhaps upgrade your power supply if needed.

Dredge is a lot easier, and as far as I can tell, the drop rates are worse ^^ my 50 run just got 1 infused ring and 4 people getting nothing, yay ‘fixed’ right?

Just make a Norn with the smallest side/body and its pretty much the same as a large human female (bit more beefy though)

That said, its all subjective, I happen to like my human female a lot more the any of the Norn faces =p
