Either way, you end up with a paradox. Because you cannot mix the two types of narrative in a single game, have major overlapping elements and still expect the result to be seamless and logical. However, I have written a number of extensive posts on the subject already and am in danger of spinning in circles, so I will leave it at that.
But that’s exactly what they did, like it or not. Moan about time travel if you want, but the zones do follow a chronological order. Which is why I raised the question of how Arah exploration makes any sense in the first place.

This doesn’t make her bad, I felt this was a more realistic approach to storytelling as far as her character arch is concerned.
To be fair, Kormir did a lot of things behind the scenes. So I can sorta forgive her.
Trahearne is just unpleasant though. Sure Kormir became a god, but Trahearne is very rude to the player and he thinks the world revolves around himself. I’m not saying that to make fun of him, but because Trahearne’s dialogue actually is incredibly rude. Play through the story again and read what he says if he doesn’t make you fall alseep.
Kormir is miles better than Trahearne in my opinion.
Agreed, I’ll have to catch the instances in Trahearne’s dialogue but he is a bore. I can understand his reservations about leading the pact but there were so many times I wanted to ask him if he would like to go home
>Monsters attack Fort Trinity
>Automatically assumes they want him and only him.Just an example.
Zhaitan’s army is basically, the guy at the top does 99% of the work, he’s got some semi intelligent underlings but they can’t work together at all. So from Zhaitan’s POV, take out the Pact’s leader and they’ll run around like headless chickens.
Trahearne doesn’t do anything.
The representatives of the Vigil, Whispers and Priory are the folks that get all the practical things done. The rest is up to you.
Do you even lift, bro?
They really dropped the ball on balancing out the Lodestones.
Compare the availability of Charged to Corrupted, for example.
Corrupted drop all over the entire zone of Frostgorge, while Charged only drop from Sparks in Orr which you have to do a friggin’ event just to have the chance to have a try at getting these. The issue with Charged ones are not a grind issue; you can’t even grind them!

Uhm. You always lose speed when entering combat.
Do you even lift, bro?
There are some bossfights where melee is highly advantageous, like the Vines in Twilight Arbor.
Sadly, the opposite is true for sooo many other bossfights.

The Norn T4 looks wrong.
It looks like a ninja or something, no thanks.
Do you even lift, bro?
Konig wins this one, in my opinion.
Regardless if you kill Sunless after you kill Zhaitan; chronologically Sunless does die first as he is in a 40 or 50 area.

Arcing Slice should have it’s animation replaced for an actual uppercut and have an knockback/blow-out that scales with Adernaline.
“Swiiiing!”

If this isn’t a sign of how unbalanced the Arah paths are, I don’t know what is.
Oh the hilarity.

Read the novels. Rytlock mentions his family in short passing, basically explaining that he doesn’t give a kitten about them.
As is Charr tradition.

Ranger is the Norn Class when you think about it. That being said, my main is a Norn Warrior.

Your link is bad.
Very bad.

Engineer & Necromancer are definitely the worst. The rest are pretty good I think.
Do you even lift, bro?
The power of a necromancer is in the support given to the group; you can slow the enemy, poison them, suck away at their health (vampimancer?), throw pets at them, make them run in fear, or go Death Shroud and pound them that way.
A lot of the classes and throw Conditions at the enemy (which actually hampers the Necromancer due to Condition stacking mechanics).
Dunno if it has changed, but last time I checked the Life Steal traits were pathetic.
Nercomancer pets are pretty much useless; no control over them (stop aggroing everything, Flesh Golem!) and unlike the Ranger you have to sacrifice normal skill slots to get them.
Fear was nerfed to the ground with the change to make Defiant affect it. Before the one thing that made the Necromancer shine was the ability (with a huge cooldown!) to interrupt any action of a boss regardless of Defiant.

Ascalonian Catacombs is a good example:
You have one main type of enemy during Story, and during Exploration you have another type of enemy moving in and taking advantage of you killing the strong guys of the first enemy type.
As does a lot of dungeons. For some reason Arah doesn’t, despite it making the most sense for Arah to be doing so!
Do you even lift, bro?
As long as you don’t pick the ridiculous Hulk-like bodytype (which makes all armour look horrible by default), I’d say Norns are right where they should be. You just need to frame their heads with hair and beard because their heads are totally round which looks rather silly.

Seraph=Angels
Angels have wings.

So why is Mace Offhand superior to others? Just because of the 4 Vulv on mace4? or are there any other factors I am too blind to see?
It would be nice if someone could enlighten me.
The 5 ability on Mace is just the bee’s knees. It is an AoE knockdown with a long range which has shorter cooldown than the Hammer’s 5 which is only single target and short range.
This an obvious and huge advantage over the Hammer’s 5 Knockdown. So if Knockdown is your thing, Mace is where it’s at.

Dragons are technically structures, so no you can’t land Critical Hits on them.

Unlock another bank tab. That’s what they are there for.
ANet staff have probably already seen this idea and laughed about it. Where you are frustrated, others have spent the cash or gold to unlock tabs.
Not gonna happen with these Gem prices. I’m just glad I got all the inventory slots when I did with my main.
Oh, and…
Why do you have so many?! There’s this thing called “moderation”!
Considering they’re all I’ve gathered since launch, its not that much. I’ve not spent a single TA token ‘cause I don’t have a Sylvari and I find the armour sucks on the other races.
This applies both in-game and real life.
If only I could.

Since when were Charr “cats”?
Do you even lift, bro?
Entropy? If the Risen have been waiting in Orr all a long (which is why they are made out of coral and stuff because Orr was under water for a loooong time) we might have to wait forever for them to fall apart.
Do you even lift, bro?
Forgal is the Vigil’s mentor.
Like Tybalt for Whispers and Sierran (spelling) for the Priory he is a very likable and well-written character.
So the problem is pretty much universal no matter which Order you join; a very likable character gets replaced for the next 30 or so levels with this boring and poorly-written/acted twit.
Do you even lift, bro?
You can give me some! lmfao
If only I could, mate
Do you even lift, bro?
The main issue here is that some of the bosses are still very clearly doing what would appear to be Zhaitan’s bidding, like the Risen High Priests(esses) of The Six. I dunno, that just seems to undermine the whole image of Zhaitan’s importance.
Would be like if you actually did kill Jormag yet the Sons of Svanir were still going strong.

The value of Power depends on Precision you already have, the value of Precision changes depending on Power.
Indeed. It has a very Ying/Yang deal going on.

Increasing the stack limit to 2500 would do a lot of good, really.
Do you even lift, bro?
Could we please have a better way to store them? I might have to start deleting AC, HoTW and TA Tokens unless I can store them better…. or buy something else with them, I suppose.
Do you even lift, bro?
If you have a Warrior with a Greatsword, the Rush attack has a really, really cool four-legged charge animation.
As a Norn, I be jelly. Real jelly…
Do you even lift, bro?
If we didn’t have the ability to play gigantic friggin’ vikings aka Norns I would’ve picked Charr for my main, no doubt about it.
Do you even lift, bro?
Be happy that you have access to Hounds of Balthazar – the only good racial Elite in the game. I mean, it is usually not worth giving up your class Elite, but unlike the other racial Elites it can be used to some effect.
Do you even lift, bro?
The Risen don’t just fall down like Star Wars Battle Droids when the mind behind them is destroyed (which is a very overused trope, and one I’m glad GW2 didn’t go in for). There’s no reason to believe they’d just fall down, or lose all their aggression immediately.
O rly? My understanding from playing the story is the opposite: that Zhaitan is the mind behind the actions of these mindless Risen, except the ones he grants a limited form of autonomy, i.e his Eyes and Mouths.
Do you even lift, bro?
Yep human racials are godawful. All of them.
Ahahaha.
No.
Hounds of Balthazar is the only racial that is worth slotting over your class Elite skills as far as I am concerned. You see it used on a regular basis, but you never see a Norn player shapeshift or an Asura player hop into his golem suit.
Do you even lift, bro?
Exploration always take place after Story.
You friggin’ obliterate Zhaitan in Arah Story, how can there still be Risen left to fight for Exploration mode? Or are we to believe Zhatain’s death did not matter the slightest?

172/174 for Shiverpeaks.
Got Lair of the Coil, Griffon Rook and Ulukk’s Hunger and I am at a loss.

Personally I love the glow from the Ghostly weapons from Ascalonian Catacombs.
They look so much nicer than the rest of the dungeon weapons, which is ironic.
Do you even lift, bro?
They made certain bosses be boring as all heck and have tons of Health.
People be actively looking to be able to AFK them.
They made dungeon mobs drop horrible loot, if they drop any loot at all, and have tons of Health.
People be actively looking for ways to skip past them.
Cause and effect people. Cause and effect. You blame the cause, not the effect.
Even if they were super fun and exciting, people would do everything they could to skip them, because people are inherently lazy.
Your outlook on gaming and general player perspective is fairly naive. No matter what the situation, if one can skip, one will skip. Unless you want anet handing out exotics from trash loot left right and center.
I can only speak from my own perspective. I would not skip if the mobs were not entirely unrewarding and so god kitten time consuming. Dungeons are all about Tokens right now, not loot. So of course people are going to try and hit the end boss as soon as possible.
Making the sub-bosses drop Wondrous Bags was a step in the right direction; at least they don’t feel entirely unrewarding now.

It gets easier once you can equip Knight’s items. These gives you Power, Precision and some most welcome Toughness.

Yup-yup. The story was going awesomely until they made the very, very stupid decision to replace Forgal Kernsson (one of my favourite NPCs in the game) with this stupid talking vegetable who shows up from nowhere, gets all the glory for what my character does from now on and has the personality and acting of a stick.
If it was truly my Norn Warrior’s personal story, he would’ve made salad out of him and eat him with some Dolyak Steak! No-one steals a Norn’s legend!
Do you even lift, bro?
You mean the Warrior’s rush skill?
Post it in the warrior forum..
What?
Suggestions go in the Suggestions forum.
Really now…
Do you even lift, bro?
Really? My character either runs past his target or keeps running up against it, never dealing the finishing blow, which leaves me locked in the running animation and defenseless for the duration.

Anyone else notice it’s got what plants crave?
Doesn’t necessarily have to come from the toilet.
Do you even lift, bro?
My last MMORPG, Warhammer Online: AoR had a plant the bomb mode which was surprisingly fun.
+1 on the bomb mode. Dunno about he others…

Just did an event in Fireheart Rise where it was a Grawl that got “loved” by a bunch of Harpies, too.

The funny thing, as mentioned, he did not “reset” in the technical sense as he kept on trucking and didn’t retreat back into the room. He simply topped off his Health and kept trying to kill us.
Do you even lift, bro?
Naw, I figured it out.
You’re apparently not allowed to fight him out in the big nice area where the Husk boss was. He was sort of semi-resetting, I guess.
You have to fight him in the tiny, tiny teleporter room!
Do you even lift, bro?
For no reason he just keep getting back to full health. He does no special ability or nothing, nor does he resets?
Final encounter on Teleport path.
