Gaming mouse or gaming keyboard?

in Suggestions

Olba.5376

Neither, to be honest.

Ironic response, as I have both. But my reasons are not related to them being gaming specific. The keyboard, which is a SideWinder X4, I got because it had dedicated media keys and it matched my previous mouse, the SideWinder X8. My mouse, the Zowie EC1 eVo, I got because of the shape and full rubber paint coating.

But putting that aside. Personally I don’t see any point in getting a gaming keyboard. The features that you get are either ill-designed (such as macro keys in bad places) or irrelevant (such as LCD monitors) or not required for an MMORPG (such as anti-ghosting). On the other hand, getting one of the many available MMORPG “optimized” mice like Logitech G600 or Razer Naga would make much more sense, since the keys are well-placed.

Most gaming mice sport ridiculously high DPI and good sensors. However, these mice are not aimed at MMORPG players, they’re aimed at FPS players. Most professional FPS players use low sensitivities, so their mice need to be able to handle high speeds, which isn’t something regular mice can do.

So really, most gaming mice, for an MMORPG player, are no different from a typical office-grade mouse. The exceptions being, of course, mice with lots of extra buttons.

Personally, I’ve tried my fair share of gaming mice (IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, Razer Krait, Razer DeathAdder, SideWinder X8, EC1 eVo) and I’ve played my share of different genres of games (FPS, RPG, 3rd person shooter, RTS) and I’ve rarely found that the “gaming” qualities of my mice had any kind of tangible difference to performance. The only time I can say that I felt a difference in performance was with Razer mice because of their, in my opinion, extremely light mouse click. However, that was also the reason my DeathAdder died after less than a year of usage.

@ Olba: Like I said, the new traits shall resemble the ones of the original profession. The secondary traitline “Fire Magic” is not identical with the primary traitline “Fire Magic”. The new Traitlines are a way to give new traits, Increase the uniqueness of your own build And add new aspects to your playstyle which resembles another profession.

Well, what are you going to do with classes that do not have access to certain conditions? For example, Thieves have no burning and no confusion.

And as was said, the balancing issues would be ridiculous. For example, what about combining any of the many traits granting Regeneration? Or what about combining things like Pure of Voice with Quick Breathing? Also, what about combining two falling damage traits? Or two traits that reduce Signet cooldowns? How about healing shouts with 2x Shout cooldown reduction? Or combining multiple traits that have a chance to add a condition to the opponent on critical hit?

There’s tons and tons of combinations that would be outright broken and tons and tons of combinations that would be outright useless. And let’s be honest, you cannot just forbid players from using specific traits.

So wait, are you asking for them to simply alter the animations? Even with just the animations, there are some weapon combinations that would be troublesome. For example, anything coupled with a shield. Similarly, anything coupled with a pistol would cause some funky sights.

Also, even if they managed to do that in a good way, it would only be a stopping point, because the next obvious thing is to ask for the damage of your off-hand weapon to affect the skills on your main-hand and vice versa. And that would require a crapton of balancing.

Heck, we already have complaints about two-handed weapons only getting one upgrade slot whereas dual-wielding single-handed ones gets you two.

@Olba
I totally agree with the first part of your post. Many people tend to forget what would happen if what they’d personally want to change would actually be changed. It would either make legendaries common like hell or cause an even greater uproar.

As a good example, a lot of people bring up making an extremely hard jumping puzzle. But just take a look at the massive amount of complaints that the Clocktower puzzle resulted in. And of course, we have people who are in the upper age brackets, who simply lack the reflexes and hand-eye coordination to complete those extremely difficult puzzles.

And on the other hand, if you just make it a doable but lengthy chain of quests and whatnot, it’ll result in Legendaries being overly common.

Although i disagree with your second thought Those skins are special because they are expensive and expensive because they are special^^ they should stay this way because they are a perfectly viable alternative for players still looking for something prestige.

Oh, I wasn’t actually expressing an opinion on whether I think the MF exotics are overpriced or not, I was just offering a simplistic solution without much afterthought.

The thing is, John Smith has already provided data that the Precursors are sold at the current prices.

And various players have provided simple mathematical proofs that “manipulating” precursors isn’t a good way of making money, in terms of profit/time.

And yes, ANet deliberately put in some piece of equipment that they intended would take a long time to get. And honestly, making it a very low drop is pretty much the only valid way of doing it, without excluding some demographic of the player base. And even if they made it based on “skill”, you would run into the question regarding the difficulty. What is tough enough? What is too much? And hell, is it even fair to do that?

The problem with precursors is the lack of a finite, deterministic, difficult, skill-based method of obtaining one.

Oh come on. “Deterministic” has “finite” as a premise. Stop trying to sound so fancy.

And again, what is the right kind of “skill”? And where in that skill is the borderline between “difficult” and “too difficult”? And what about people who might end up being excluded from getting a Legendary due to these restrictions due to reasons that they cannot change, such as being located in a far away place?

Pretty sure that stealthing does not break aggro. At least it doesn’t for my Thief. However, it is possible for Thieves to get a ton of HP back via stuff like Hide in Shadows, Shadow’s Rejuvenation and Shadow Protector

The thing is, going out of combat any sooner would bring some serious issues. PvP would basically be reduced into kiting so that you go out of combat for full health and spiking your opponent to death.

Personally, the only time I’ve ran into issues with conditions has been Risen Hylek with their lengthy Poison and Risen Gorillas with their lengthy Cripple. I mean, those mobs die in less than 10 seconds and yet they can leave you with like a minute of a condition.

Everyone are yelling “precursor prizes too high!” “market manipulation!”

Well, I think it’s fine that something that is a part of a LEGENDARY should be hard to obtain.

The thing is, if you restrict the Legendary with “actual” requirements for skill, you end up with a subset of the playerbase that simply cannot get Legendaries. And that would cause a kittenstorm even larger than the current one.

Only thing Im bothered with is when things that are not legendary, cost as much as the legendaries on the tp.

infinite light and other unique exotics, why should they ever be pricet at the same height as the legendaries? They don’t have the same flashy animations or better stats, they are just unique exotic skins. (yes legendaries are unique “skins” too, but they are legendaries)

Well those can be fixed by tweaking the amount/type of Lodestones required.

Any official reply to this would shock the precursor market. All I can say is we’re watching.

In other words ANet has been/is/will be manipulating the precursor market. If ANet is watching, as John has stated, then they are willing to (or have) intervene(d). On the other hand, if they are not (watching) then there is no point in responding or would say so.

Did you ever consider the option that ANet is monitoring things because the in-game economy ties directly to the longevity of the game? Heck, the fact that they employed an economist at all should tell you that.

And honestly, “manipulating” is a really weird word here. They’re the freaking developers, of course they’re expected to manipulate things. And by manipulate, I mean implementing things which will affect the prices. Hell, just doing anything to change the game is going to affect the prices. Change loot tables? Prices changed. Put in a holiday sale? Prices changed. Put in a sale on some item? Prices changed.

Hell, remember the Karka chest? That sure as heck wasn’t a mistake on their part. Ask one of the big conspiracy nuts and they’ll tell you Anet did that so that the gold sellers could buy cheap precursors that they would then sell later on for a massive amount of money, of which some goes to Anet.

Person-to-Person Trading System

Olba.5376

There’s a number of issues with Player-to-Player trading.

Firstly, since we have the Black Lion Trade Post, this mail-trade business would have to have the same 15% tax. Otherwise it would end up in a situation where people would sell most of their stuff at via mail. And the next step from that is people asking for afk-shops. Which, as you might see, would be no different from the Black Lion Trade Post, except that it would have your name attached to it.

Secondly, since we can pick up mail from anywhere, but the goods on the Black Lion Trade Post are limited to the NPCs, we are faced with a choice. Either we make it so that all non-quest and non-Gem Shop mail can only be picked up at some NPC, or we put in an additional tax on trades via mail.

Thirdly, we have to look at who is asking for this feature. On one hand, we have the people who want to sell expensive goods but cannot or will not do it because of the tax. Well, why should ANet enable them to participate in tax evasion? Makes no sense.

On the other, we have people who want to trade their goods with someone they know, but don’t quite trust yet. That’s again a very shady crowd of people. Just look at it, for real! These are people who are supposedly willing to take a monetary loss for someone they don’t know but at the same time they do not trust this person. That’s kittened up in the head, if you ask me.

You know what else could fix this thing? Re-doing the Trade Post. Instead of the current system, we would add in the sellers’ names and you could voluntarily choose to sell to a specific seller, even if it’s at a higher price. The only downside? Well, it still requires an NPC. And considering that they have a Gem Store item for that, I don’t see that changing.

I haven’t played a Norn or a Charr, so I can’t weigh in on those.

But for the other two, I think your idea isn’t going to work. Asuras have their “Colleges”, which are really not that different from our actual colleges. They specialize in a very specific field and do research in that field. College of Dynamics is a bit like a Mad Scientist version of experimental science. On the other hand, College of Statistics are more like architects. Finally, we have College of Synergetics is like theoretical sciences. Changing from one to the other would not only mean a massive change in career, but also your personal opinion of what the Eternal Alchemy is. That is, it’s a massive change of lifestyle. Your acquaintances would change, former friends might be new enemies, everything you spent your lifetime so far studying on would be at best “reference material for what NOT TO DO”. It’s just not plausible.

As for the humans, if you look at what happens towards the end, all of the paths end up in prestige. No matter how you slice it, you still end up being regarded as a hero. Sadly, the opposite isn’t really what the game is about. It’s a game about a hero, not a game about some rich kid who ended up pigging their way into poverty.

Black Lion Chest/Key Improvement

Ok, let me put this up here.

  • 100 Gems costs 1.91 Gold right now, according to GW2Spidy.
  • 1 Black Lion Key costs 125 Gems
  • Thus 1 Black Lion Key costs 2.3875 Gold.

You suggested a conversion rate of 20 Black Lion Chests for 1 key. Now, being idealistic and saying that the gem conversion wouldn’t change, which it might, that would cause the Black Lion Chests to go up in value from 3 copper to 0.119375 Gold, or 11.93 Silver. That’s a massive inflation. And it’s obviously non-sustainable.

And as was said, the Black Lion Keys are a Gem Store item. Looking at how they removed the Black Lion Keys from the Lyns, possibly due to people using her to get cheap keys, it’s really not likely that you would see them giving people means of getting cheaper keys.

This is especially true since they have in past put holiday themed skins into the chests. The TP folk would hoard a crapton of the keys until the next time they did this, then open up chests, get the skins and sell them for profit. And that’s just not in the spirit of celebration.

Daily achievements turning into a grind

Olba.5376

Giving laurels out only for daily and monthly achievements is making all the players grind dailies. The monthly is not so much of a problem, since you can get it doing what you do regularly in 1/3 of the required time.
Casual friends I used to do quests with now spend their playing time chasing the daily achievement and that’s it.

It’s the rewards, not the Laurels themselves. Mainly the Ascended amulets.

I’ve also seen situations where one person was fighting a bear for a good several minutes just to get a dodger achievement or people jumping off cliffs just so their friend could get daily healer.
While this is hilarious to watch, it’s turning the game into a grind.

Those are examples of people who want the reward as fast as possible. And in fact, I find those means to be rather sad. You could get the Dodger much easier by going to a few events and dodging some groups of mobs. The healer can be done with any of the many events that have a rotation of defenses, such as Orr, the Modniir camp in Harathi Hinterlands or the Hylek camp in Sparkfly Fen.

I have a few suggestions for this:
#. Swap out the dailies for weekly achievements so that people don’t feel the pressure to complete a certain 0/x tasks every day and rather have it work like the monthly on a shorter leash.
#. Redo the dailies so that instead of several grind-like tasks, you have one more specific one. Maybe “help the humans in their battle against the centaurs”, which would mean you have to do events where you defend settlements against centaurs. More specific, but it would get people to spend time in the area doing what they’d do regularly until and event comes up and they’d get the daily. Maybe thin-out the dredge horde? Kill a certain number of dredge and so on.
#. Make all achievements laurel worthy. For those of us who have done most, there could be a bard NPC who would “grant us laurels for the songs of our achievements”, while others would get those in time. Everyone would have the same achievements by the end anyway and they wouldn’t have to just grind daily events, but they could play regularly and be left behind too much if they choose not to chase the daily events every day.

  1. You realize that by making it a weekly instead of a daily, all of the requirements would have to be scaled sevenfold? End result is not really any different from what we have now. It would relax it a bit, but not because it’s weekly, but because of the amount of work involved. It’s just not feasible to resurrect 70 dead NPCs/players or dodge an attack 105 times. And the weekly would make some of the current requirements a bit awkward, such as visiting the Laurel Vendor 7 times.
  2. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I think “Kill x things” is a lot clearer than “Help Humans with their Centaur problem”. Because let’s be honest, if I had not played a Human or explored the human low-mid-level areas, I sure as crouton wouldn’t know that Humans have a tug-of-war with Centaurs. And besides, does “Centaur” here mean Centaurs? Or Tamini? What about Modniir? Also, we already have people complaining about some of the daily achievements not being something you can do with regular play. You go and tell those people that they now have to do events in specific areas to get their dailies. I’ll just be here and watch the chaos.
  3. “Grant us Laurels for the songs of our achievements”? That sure sounds like an NPC that hands out Laurels in exchange for Achievement points, or reaching specific achievements. And besides, I’m pretty sure that tying achievement points to Laurels is/has always been in the works.

Personally, I started with D/D. I picked my build from some random YouTube D/D thief video, I’m running 25/30/0/0/15.

However, after I got to 80, I just didn’t feel that D/D was that useful in PvE. In my opinion, D/D has too much in it. There’s a ranged cripple, a stealth, a condition skill, an auto-attack that works well and Heartseeker.

I had also noted that during events, I found myself using SB almost exclusively. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not really what I wanted to be doing. So, I started looking for new weapons.

I found that swords come with a frontal aoe to them, a lot like Axes on Warriors. So, I decided on that. Then it came down to whether I’d use a Dagger or a Pistol as my offhand. After looking at the numbers, I figured that S/D was the way to go, as it seemed to provide the best damage, along with some stealth.

However, I’m currently running S/P simply because of Pistol Whip. As a thief, you have to spent a lot of time dodging. Not really a bad thing, but that often means running around in circles, in which case I could just as well main SB. Pistol Whip evades attacks while channeling, plus it has pretty good damage with a frontal AoE. I like that.

Sadly, the off-hand pistol skills are rather lacking for PvE. However, Sword/Pistol goes excellently with my piratey thief.

Um… you don’t have to level a character to 80 to do your Personal Story, even if you’re alone.

And besides, if you want the “full experience”, you’re going to have to do the Personal Story on multiple characters anyway, since there are various points in the story where you get a choice and it alters the path you end up on. And yes, those choices do have a significant effect: Some NPCs that you meet in one storyline are completely missed in the others, while some NPCs barely get mentioned.

What about a elite-signet that grants as a passive effect permastealth while out of combat?
It would be fun in open PvE and imho not to OP in Dungeons and WvW. You already can travel untouched in this areas w. SB and stealth.
Dunno about s/tPvP but hey, you can nerf it there.

That would result in complaints about farming rich nodes and certain commune skill points.

There’d be no way to “nerf” that kinda signet in spvp without simply removing it all together. Permastealth doesn’t fit the thief playstyle in this game (although atm it is possible but not intended). A 15-20 second stealth elite skill that just stealths the thief could be good, but idk an appropriate cd for it without making it the “obvious” choice and potentially op. Stealth isn’t op, perma stealth would be however.

On what grounds do you say that they did not intend a player to build in such a way that they could stay in stealth pretty much all the time? After all, clearly they put some thought into it, as the permastealth playstyle has low damage output in comparison to backstabbers or the like.

Anet will sell more gems if they lower price to about 20g for one whole set of tier 3 armor. This is because people will be $10 of gem if the armor is in reach.

As it it now, only people doing dungeons can afford tier 3 armor.

The same can be said about every expensive item, though.

The problem with that thinking is that it’s the same pitfall that most f2p MMORPGs fall. Granted, it’s quick cash on a short notice, but in the long terms, your playerbase is going to die out.

“You’ll also see more Legendary items in the future and an update to our existing Legendary weapons.” – Linsey Murdock

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/

Really? Asnwer me this, where on that blog does it say anything about legendary armor? It says legenerday items, nothing about armor and therefore they may only add more legendary weapons into the game. Also, if they do intend to add any legendary armor into the game then it won’t be untill after ascended armor is out and therefore will be a very long time away. Should I not buy exotic armor now because in the future ascended armor will be released?

Look, if people can’t afford T3 then don’t use it, it’s that simple. Legendary weapons cost over 1k gold, but that’s okay just because it’s “legendary”.

Simple, actually.

Lindsay’s post talks about “Legendary gear” and “Legendary weapons”. If you take that as a premise for non-weapon Legendary gear in the future, then you’re left with accessories and armor. Legendaries are all about the skins, so accessories, other than back pieces, are out of the discussion.

So it’d only really make sense for it to be armor or back pieces. Or both.

And honestly, the Cultural armor is fine as it is. Games like these need things that are outrageously expensive so that the specific demographic can feel like there’s a goal to work towards.

Since it doesn’t stack here my suggestion for a change if you will nerf it damg by 80% but a new effect is this all healing regen / effect now does damg against the user.

So essentially you want to make Thieves even more powerful? Pop Spider Venom and Back Stab. Boom, your enemy just committed suicide trying to heal themselves.

And what about PvE?

This would end all the healing bunker build. Maybe place a 3 stack cap so that they have a choice cure it off, deal with the small damg, or heal kill yourself or run. the stack cap does not increase damg just increase the number of poison you have to cure off.

What’s so bad about healing bunkers? It’s a specific playstyle that some people enjoy. And let me tell you, seeing things like healing bunkers and permastealth thieves is good, because the game would be really boring if everyone was just playing glass cannons.

Where’s the fun in dueling if the outcome can potentially be decided by what professions are facing off or by the difference in their specific builds? Because in a setting where damage and healing is reduced on the current balance paradigm, the biggest sufferers will be the glass cannon builds, whereas the bunker builds don’t suffer as much.

And let’s face it, if you reduced healing and damage by 50%, any GC vs bunker match would be really boring because neither would have the damage to kill the other, assuming that the GC knows to kite.

Can you tell what game play advantages you get from karma so you that is only me who doesn’t need it and the only advantage you get from laurels are only the ascended gear?

There are cooking ingredients you can only get with Karma. There’s exotic armor and accessories you can get with Karma. And with the Lost Orrian Jewelry Box, you can now convert Karma to gold.

Also, 30 days of 30 min = 15 h while 10 days of 15h = 150 h
So a player with 150 h of play gets 10 laurels while another player with 15h of play gets 30 laurels. How fair is that?

It is fair. It gives a huge boost to people who can only play a little.

and this “people who play less have less need for better gear” is something you personally think its true.

Reduce Player Condition Damage by 50%. (this does not effect pve.)
(this means longer fighting, kind of like the costume brawls.)

Won’t just mean longer fights, will favor bunker builds tremendously, especially Guardians and healing Warriors.

Heck, you would need to make a similar reduction to healing, otherwise a bunker build with kiting would be literally immortal. Think Warrior with healing shouts and permanent Swiftness.

And the thing is, the developers are working on balancing the skill damage at the current level. A dueling mode that reduced damage by 50% would need balancing of its own, because if we’re balanced healing and cooldowns to 100% damage, then at 50% damage the healing will be too strong and the cooldowns will be too long. The end result? Healing Power becomes an overpowered stat and most of the dueling is decided by who runs into an unlucky situation with cooldowns first.

Very good observation. No matter what people need the laurels for – gears, mini-pets, etc – it is just that if you can’t / don’t care / don’t have the mood / to do the monthlies, than you are really missing out 1 laurel / day

Um, there’s only one thing that you can argue that you “need” from Laurels and that’s the Ascended stuff. Everything else is available from somewhere else or does not give you a gameplay advantage.

And I doubt we need to go into a discussion about how people who play less have less need for better gear.

Some one that does only the dailies ( 30 min) in a month has 30 / 31 laurels while someone who could come only for 10 days has only 10 laurels even he played 15 h / day
The less you have time, the less things you can buy.
It is not the same as with the money. You could earn big money if you know what to do ot even spend your real money on gems.

It is the same. The less you play, the less you get. The only exceptions to this are playing the TP and buying Gems. And cash should never be a shortcut in a game. The TP is an alternative that does come with some negatives, but overall the TP players have a positive effect on the game.

The karma jars are ok tho, because you don’t have too many interesting things to buy with karma unless you are on for the looks.

So earning Karma is cool… because you, personally, don’t need it. Nice fallacy there.

So, make these laurels be earned in a different way. If we still need to grind, make it so we grind specific foes with specific weapons in certain zones. This way people will need to play more varied things if they want laurels.

How about this: every single day, you get a chance to get an extra Laurel, but to do it you have to kill 1,000 Giants within 24 hours and you have to do it using an Eternity?

Not going to happen, because movement in stealth is part of the core of a Thief. Thieves are the only class that benefits from attacking from behind or the side, regardless of stealth, plus they get extra attacks from stealth. Not to mention there’s a trait for increased movement speed in stealth.

or something like that to prevent this invs come out dmg invs come out dmg and almsot never get hit. Can you look into this?

So basically you had a crappy team and you’re now complaining because your team wasn’t adequately prepared. Great, that really gives a clear picture about how overpowered your enemy was. After all, you were unprepared and uncoordinated and you ended up helpless. Clearly that’s a sign that something is wrong with your opponent.

Honestly, people who make these suggestions about nerfing thieves almost always seem like they haven’t even spent a day doing anything thief-related, other than getting killed in WvW.

Remove Represent and multiple guilds

Wouldn’t work this far into the game.

People have already established themselves into the mold of having a guild for WvW, a guild for dungeons, a guild for events and a guild for friends. It would cause some pretty heavy chaos when these people would have to move from all these guilds to just one. And let’s be serious, some of these guilds are actually pretty useful. Try getting into a squad in WvW when you’re not in a guild, for one.

Also, there are guilds which are centered on communities that are primarily outside of Guild Wars 2. These kind of guilds, along with the “guilds for friends” ones would be taking the biggest hits in terms of losses of members.

You can transmute it to other items. And then those items to other items, and so on. (as far as i know)

What alfista here means is that the skin itself is one-use, but just like every other skin, you can use transmutation stones on those armors to further transmute the armor to another one, if you so desire. You still only get a total of one set of the skin per purchase.

  • There aren’t hundreds of Legendaries on the TP
  • There are plenty of people who have Legendaries that got them by playing the game

  2. Make it impossible to access TP info outside of the game, (stuff like gw2spidy etc)
  1. Not going to happen. No one would trade on the TP because of the 15% fee. That would result in Lion’s Arch being filled with WTS/WTB stuff and even more people than there are currently.
  2. This one I can agree on.

Gems too expensive

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Olba.5376

Olba.5376

As a casual player I do feel from my perspective of playing the game that the cost of things requiring gems is too high. I’m not overly bothered about the gold to gems and gems to gold ratio being low or what have you because Im willing to spend real money on them. I just want gems to buy 3 extra character slots so I can have a char for each profession as you only start with 5 but to do that I currently have to buy 2400 gems which is roughly around £30 or more. For 3 character slots I feel thats a major rip off.

The character slots have a steep price for a reason. Namely that you cannot exploit the bag space. Every new character has 20 slots, plus the space that you can fill up with other bags. In comparison, the expansion is hardcapped at 20 slots. So buying a new character and using them as a storage is inherently more efficient than buying the last bag slot. To avoid people from just buying new character slots and using them as bags, you make the character slots more expensive than the bag expansion.

Also, unlike some other games, GW2 has seamless deletion of characters, so the argument about needing a minimum of 8 slots is kinda moot. Not to mention that it’s rather illogical: one of the key reasons the character slots are less than the available professions is to entice people into getting those slots rather than leveling up and deleting characters.

After all, if you used the argument of “needing” the slots, you could say that you need a minimum of 40 slots, because you “need” to experience every profession with every race to pick your favorite.

T* You are able to use Elite Skills (not really that big thing in this game so far, as all of them are extrem far away from anyhow being at all worthy to be called Elite Skills thta make for some epic character development that you can say proudly – WOW, my chara has become a real heroic presence and isnt by far anymow just some kind of nobody which doesn’t get acknowledged by anyone)

  • Your equipment basically looks just nicer, but thats absolutely NO character progression, this is just item progression and has nothing to do with the character at all
  • You’ve got some positive trait side effects and a very few more skills.
This is by far the only small thing that really is character progression and it is by far way too less for a game like GW2 as the progression you make via traits feels to minor, because most of those things that the game offers so far have nearly to none great impact of how you play your character, how it develops into something much better, than you were, when you just started the character…

Having 3 utility skills instead of 0 and having the traits is gameplay altering. For example, the reason why Greatsword deals ridiculous damage on a Warrior is due to Forceful Greatsword, which is a Master level trait, requiring a minimum of level 40.

1. Shadow Behemoth would get scaled up by its Level from 15 to 80
2. The 19 Lvl 15 players would get scaled up from 15 to 80, as long as the 1 lvl 80 player is participating in the battle

Have you ever been to WvW on a low level character? Well let me tell you, upscaled lowbies are crap. They got less HP, less damage, less defense, less utilities and lack traits.

HUGE GW2 Redesign Concept Collection

Um…

First, I’m just going to point out that you really should have split this into multiple topics. Because commenting on a crapton of features in a single topic is bothersome.

Also, there’s quite a few things that you mentioned that are already in the game.

  1. Legendary weapons must have at least 5% more damage and stats, maybe 10%.
  2. Good ol’ Perfect Kit. A kit that separates item from sigil/rune. Never destroyes item.
  3. 3 Stage moving system
  1. No. The point of Legendaries is to look awesome.
  2. No. They had reasons to implement salvaging that way
  3. Why?

Consider the following...

2) On the topic of weapons, although we get 5 skills to play around with with each weapon and weapon combinations not to mention the awesome in combat weapon swap ability, It would be nice to have a little more variety and the ability to pick and choose said variety.

GW2 was made because GW1 had too many skills to balance. And honestly, more skills only lead to builds, which are all about ignoring most of the skills you could choose.

3) In terms of dungeons, I often feel unmotivated to do them since I already have a tanking and DPS set. It would be nice if the vendor pieces had better stats depending on the dungeon lvl instead of making them all the same. The only real motivation to get some of these pieces is just for the skin.

No, not gonna happen. Again, one of the key things in GW2 is that you do not need to do specific content to get gear. The only exception to that was Ascended and now that has been somewhat remedied.

4) Mob stun stacking is one thing I would also like to see changed. Although I do enjoy the challenge of having to dodge and avoid certain attacks from enemies, it get down right frustrating when you are constantly stunned, especially when you are on the ground. I am by no means saying eliminate this ability all together but have it so that stuns are unable to stack if one is already active.

They already eliminated most of the control skills in Orr. I don’t think they need to make things any easier. Because the end of that chain is mobs dealing more damage and that leads to everyone needing to kite. And that’d make a pretty boring game.

  4. -give options to join npc groups (like the option to join NC)
  1. There are already some options
  2. Pretty much all the hearts in the game are about helping others and generally being a heroic person. If you want to kill the good guys, you’re playing the wrong game
  3. Ailments? NPCs can already be inflicted with conditions and some NPCs have special conditions

all possible 3 stat + combo on all gear

in Suggestions

Olba.5376

The reasons why we get a limited amount of stat combinations are simple.

Firstly and less importantly, as pointed out by Yamsandjams, the amount of required combinations would be ridiculous. Each and every combination has to have a specific Fine Crafting Material associated with it for crafting purposes. That’s a lot of new materials to be put into the game. And of course, these new materials would have to drop from existing mobs, so they would have to tweak every single drop table in the game. And I’m pretty sure they would also need to tweak the crafting interface, because of the bloated quantity of items you can make.

Secondly, and more importantly, there’s balancing. There are certain stat combinations that, when combined with specific builds, would result in some serious issues.

Thirdly, if you allowed any combination, you would have to allow triple stat combinations. And please don’t tell me that those aren’t inherently imbalanced.

Fourthly, we already have people complaining about switching builds. If you added all the combinations, you would pretty much have to tweak the whole gear system to fit that. Because there’s just no way people are going to carry around that many sets of armor and weaponry.

Female Humans need more 'viable' hair options

Except a vast majority people DO want more hair styles, which is also reflected by those around me. There was no fallacy here.

On what grounds do you say that? If you’re extrapolating from people you know, that’s a strawman. If you’re saying that even your friend tell you that their friends talk about wanting more hairstyles, that’ll be anecdotal evidence.

You’re missing the point completely. How can you compare a plot driven book to a video game? Obviously a company like ArenaNet should take feedback to further grow and improve as a company. That’s why there’s a forum section called suggestions. Trolls like you are so offended by the fact that someone may even suggest that they’re not doing something right that you roam around the forum, trying to nit pick at wording. The thread is about giving feedback to ANet for the hair styles for the characters in game (specifically human female) right now and trolls like you try so hard to make the opinion sound like it’s not the majority’s opinion that it’s hilarious.

Look. I do generally agree that there needs to be more hairstyles. Heck, out of all the Human Male hairstyles, I only like about two, one of them ended up making my character look like Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean and the other is, for some reason, used by an alarming quantity of human male NPCs. Similarly, I found that pretty much all of the human male hairstyles with long hair have some pretty serious clippings with armor.

My point is that your justification for more hairstyles is flawed. It’s subjective or fallacious, so better leave it out.

If I voice the opinions of many of around me as well as mine, it’s ‘riding a bandwagon?’

You assumed that “many people around you” means “majority”. That’s a strawman fallacy. You also assumed that being backed by majority means it’s right, which makes for a bandwagon.

What is this high schooler logic?

Why do you think companies take feedback from people? There SHOULDNT be anything that cannot be changed if enough people argue for it. Maybe one day you’ll grow up and face the real world, kiddo. If ANet has the same attitude as you in running their company, they would be bankrupt in a second.

I think of games as mediums for storytelling no different from books or movies. The creators should never bend in their vision because the fans say something different. Would you think it fair if Harry married Hermione because the fanbase would prefer that?

But there’s a reason why they have beta tests, and have a forum section called ‘suggestions,’ running a multi million dollar company, and you’re living pay check to pay check.

Check the box on ‘ad hominem’. Just because I am not a successful game designer with a multi million company under my belt doesn’t make me wrong. Then again, the same applies to you as well. Unless, of course, you do in fact own such a company.
