Learn how to play glass in a bunker meta and stop QQing. As a thief I can give you some suggestions.

Maybe it would work if if Eles had stealth or mobility like thieves have.. lol.

IF eles had better CDs on active mitigation it would work. But hey, I’d love a viable glass build that would melt if I actually screw up but the current mitagation eles have are not good enough to play on low hp and armor.

My build is as you ask, pm me in game if you want any info. Just played a handful of games and I am seeing nothing changed for my build since before this patch.

Despite the patch notes saying we can now reports players in PvP for being “idle” or “map manipulation” I am not seeing the options when reporting such players.

I can’t agree more. Bringing back our “voice” to the game has increased the game so much for me. Immersive and RP/story wise. Running all my chars (all races included) through LS2 was so boring without their voices. HOT brought that individuality and life back!

I take the sacrifice of faster updates for this which adds on to my “char” and “story” that I created at launch of the game. Best move ever Anet.

Having the attuned rings helps to offset the loss of the amulet infusion, but it still stinks to have to slog through fractals for the best stats in WvW.

I really hope that Anet will add some sort of option for the WvW players to get this that does not require playing outside WvW.

I am with the above posters that would rather suffer some form of torture before spending any amount of time doing fractals.

Oh I expect a new reward track to be imcoming to address this, might be a few months away tho….if not longer

What have the devs been working on over the past year because it can not just be this incredibly tiny patch?

I am already finished, story done, map done, achievements done.

They added no new armor, no new weapons, no rewards to work towards, nothing to keep me loged in.

What they did add was great but it was way to small. I thought MO said this patch would be roughly the size of 8-9 old Living World chapters? This felt like the size of one!

Not only was the size of the content small but the polish was bad too, compared to Season 2 and Dry Top and SIlverwastes this map, the achievements, the rewards, feels like a massive step backwards.

First, MO never said that ever. So dont know where u got that from. Also I can not take you seriously when you call Bloodstone Fen a step back . Even though its small on the map, the verticallity makes up for it, if we are counting the landmass together it is bigger than southsun and bigger half of DT. The rewards are cool where as you get gliding combat skills. I can not take what u said with a straight face.

And don’t forget we can mine Blood Dust now, can feed our eaters more often now!

Also a super easy map complete for an easy exotic and chance at a bltc key. Send all your alts out there now before they nerf that key chance!

Well, the Quarterlies were every 3 months, hence the name (four times a year). Sooner would be every 2 months.

Thus, every 2 to 3 months. =)

Well yeah “if” they pick up the pace, sure they could but I’m not taking that for granted.

Besides I’m in no rush for them too, tons to do here still and tons of alts to do it all on! And lastly if I am thinking 3-4 months then I get a nice surprise if/when it’s sooner, so I’m actually being positive here lol!

What they should really do is just get rid of half the ascended rings and trinkets (convert those you have to the equivalent). There is no purpose to having 2 of each stat combo anymore, since they don’t have either a gameplay or cosmetic purpose anymore.

Most of the ascended trinkets have lore tie-ins and would be a shame to just cull half of them.

Nothing is really gained and a lot of immersion is lost.

I don’t think they could cull them even if they wanted to but to remove the “unique” tag/function is a good option towards that.

No one relies on ring drops for usable loot and the menus are far from too crowded though they could stand to separate the pairs via tags so one doesn’t have to hunt for a specific stat set if new.

I think you’re misunderstanding my position here.

I’m not saying they should but I do agree that they could. Whether people would be happy with the change is another matter entirely though I doubt many would be happy with most either uncaring or angry.

Sorry for that appearance, I was not saying you were calling for the culling, more addressing both your post and other’s who advocated the culling. That and I am very tired right now lol.

I’m pretty sure it’s every 3-4 months and not 2-3. And to answer your question yes this is it. I am perfectly fine with that. Sure it’s not content every 2 weeks like the old days but at least we are getting this AND future expansions getting worked on as well. I prefer this vs small updates every 2 weeks that only give temp content and no future expansion on the horizon that will bring perm content.

Balance? What balance? Stupid PVE fractal? Or WHAT? That +5 ability and 1% def or dam are not an earthquake, but far better than utility kitten! I have no need agony, gold or magic find, I have 2 mill. karma and I lost 25 laurels! And force to log in or play what I would not like to play!

Madness… they have some creatives in this? Or any sane game developer? It looks like only kittens worked on this kitten idea!

Overall the change to infusions and the slots was hugely beneficial and helpful to players who are newer to fractals. So at least for me this was a pretty awesome change, still confused about the amulet slot though. I don’t know what can go in it, where I can get those infusions, or why the hell it was singled out to be separate.

You buy the Enrichments from the Laurel vendor, it’s with the other infusions (second tab).

don’t destroy your infusions that were mailed to you. You can trade them into the new Golem in Fractals for relics. I think I got a total of 75 relics for my +5, better than nothing I guess…..

Is anyone else getting disconnected a lot?

I’m getting disconnected so much that I’ve tried repeatedly to finish the first Season 3 instance about the memorial and I can’t complete it. It’s so long and I get disconnected before I can finish it every time.

Yes same here, it’s really annoying. It’s even hitting the forums. I think it must be more and more people logging in, updating and it is hitting the servers very badly.

Also I think the patch broke more than it fixed! Heck even this edit will prob take 10 mins…..the original posting took 20-30….

Remove Downed State

The downed state is a crucial thing I think for the majority of the playerbase as it REALLY helps those who run the zerk meta. Just imagine if it was taken out, I should imagine other stats might get looked at more. Of course tho having said that does not mean I am for it being taken out. I am on the fence about it myself.

I think the OP is confusing RNG and rewards as one and the same thing. Rewards or loots is what you get when you kill a creature or complete an event or some such. RNG is what you get from that reward. Simply because we may get a lot of rewards or loots does not mean we actually get much out of it. A good example is that a lot of what we get we salvage and can turn into nothing more but a few extra Mith ore here or an extra couple of wood there….

What you are saying is that we should get less rewards to prolong our playing exp? I don’t agree. I have been playing since the head start and have probably close to 4-5k hours and I still don’t have a legendary or other such things some people do. There is plenty for me to still work towards!

Sure “some” people farm all day long and can get things far faster than the rest of us. Sure “some” people play 24/7. But is that our fault and should everyone else be punished for that?

I call myself a casual hardcore, being I can put in hardcore hours but I play the game in a casual way. What I mean by that is I do what is fun or work slowly on things like achievements and such. I don’t farm as such.

So please, do not try and turn this game into a grinder or one where rewards/loot is once again harder to come by simply to artificially make the game seem like there is more gameplay from it for the hardcore players because they have to “grind” more. No if anything please add more “content” for these players to play or more “shinies” for them to work towards from their current grinding.

That’s my 2 gp worth.

Mastery Leveling Change Request

While it would be nice for this to happen it really wouldn’t make sense or be fair to those who have levelled up their HOT masteries in those maps.

Think about it, what do the HOT masteries give you? Pretty much ALL (except gliding which I can think of) of the HOT masteries give you bonuses or rewards to help you while in those maps. Mushroom jumping, Speed boosts, talking to the new races etc. So it makes perfect sense to “learn” or “unlock” all of that while you are facing those challenges and content.

Gliding could be thought of as the same since at first we could only glide in those maps as well but then anet were kind enough to also let us use it in core Tyria and we should never forget that.

So in summary all I can say is, you bought HOT and you want to enjoy those rewards so go and play that content and have fun while doing so! That was not meant to sound rude but yeah that’s pretty much what it is lol.

Edit:

Actually what it sounds like is you want to skip all the content and get to all the rewards. Compare it to someone else making a similar post along these lines:

“I want to play Fractals but I don’t want to level up my Fractal level from doing Fractals. Can’t I level it up while doing dungeons, WvW etc and then once I have mastered it go back and do the level 100 Fractal when I feel like it?”

Again, does not really make much sense does it?

Ranger is a pretty good class for straight up damage/fast kills. For raids you may be asked to go Druid. Not sure how well they perform in Fractals however. Having all classes at lvl 80 with world complete I would suggest you to try the ranger, it’s a good easy class to play.

You could always go to the pvp lobby and try out all the classes there for free too. As you will have access to all the skills and traits so you can get a very good look at and feel to of all the classes.

Tradable Tomes of Knowledge

Well, the name of the topic is saying it all, but I would like to specify. I have about 90+ Tomes in my bank now and about 3k+ spirit shards. I actually would like to suggest to trade those useless books for something interesting. Like mb trade a stack(250) of them for a black lion key(sweet dreams) or maybe for some amount of laurels which seem more usefull.

You would trade 250 tomes for a BLTC key?

Why not make a new char, use 80 of them to get him to level 80 and then do the personal story? Doing that will get you 3 keys and should only take a couple of days. Also if you have HOT you can get another key from that story which will take you another 2 days. You will also get more than just the keys obviously, all those quest chests etc.

Ascended gear is already acct bound. There really is no reason to keep the rest soulbound.

Yes there is – crafting and the market. When you make an alt you have to either craft a new set for them or buy it off the TP. If all of a sudden all armour sets were not soulbound and if tradable as well that would kill that totally. You could simply keep your old gear from 1 char and pass it to the next or even sell on TP if tradable. This would pretty much kill any market that may be there for crafters.

In the case of ascended the reason that is account bound is because it takes a bit of time and effort and if impatient a bit of coin to create them. So it is perfectly fine these are account bound. While people make their ascended they will have to use the others in the mean time so they will still have to craft or buy from others. And if you do make alts if it is not the same weight class or correct weapon that you already have, again you have to go through that process so in the mean time, craft or buy again.

Tbh if something like this came into the game I would not want a refund from having previous tool sets and as I said earlier I have 3 so far. In fact I did plan on buying all and any new ones that came out. Mainly because I like to build themes or chars for my chars. So for example my Ele gets all the ones that look like magic and my Engi gets things that look like they suit Engis.

However when the shared inv slots came out and the reply I got from Anet regarding my second salvage kit saying I got enough worth out of it threw that plan of mine out the window. Even then I had no issue with them not refunding for my tools and I didn’t even ask them to because as I said, I would still use them all on dif chars for the theme aspect of it. However for a salvage kit, I really have no use for an extra one when I will have my main one in the shared slot. A second one offers no other use/bonus like any extra tool sets would (their visual effect). So to me this seemed like a big slap in the face from Anet.

Having said all that, if they did add a shared tool option/system or better yet add the tools to the wardrobe as others have suggested I would definitely buy those slots/service. I would probably still want to buy all the other tools that I still don’t have yet either again for my char theme building. But atm with how they treated me over my second salvage kit I am still a bit hesitant there and will not buy anymore tools because of that.

Now of course if they were to offer me something for my second salvage kit well then I would def do everything as said above and have a smiley face for anet again. Heck when the shared inv slots came in I didn’t even ask for a refund for the second salvage kit I simply asked them if they could give it to a friend of mine since I did not need it anymore and they wouldn’t/couldn’t even do that.

You have a chance to add something like this for people who are asking for it Anet so if you do consider it all I ask is that you think it through this time with regards to players who have purchased such extras in the past.

They said they’re testing changes to the limit, so how soon it kicks in will vary. It might be that one of you caught it at a time when the limit was very high and someone else got it when they dropped it back down.

I haven’t had an opportunity to do a proper test yet, but in between Fractals yesterday I was selling stuff as quickly as I could and didn’t hit the limit. I really need to try doing it after Silverwastes or something though.

now lets all take a guess as to why all containers aren’t effected by magic find. does anyone have a logical answer?

My guess would be because some containers are a guaranteed drop (champs for example) and thus more easily farmed. Where as a monster drop is NEVER guaranteed.

Yeah same here, it gets real annoying if you are like me and like to craft in bulk maybe every few months or so and have to unlock all recipes so you make HUNDREDS of items.

Crossbow skins wouldn’t work at all, because the animation would have to be completely different. They’d have to make not only the crossbow skin, but at least one new animation, and tech to hook up that animation to the skin instead of the character.

Don’t underestimate the skil/effort of Anet. They put in that same effort/skill for the current sling Shortbow skin. I see no difference for crossbows tbh.

I’m fairly certain the sling simply uses the old shortbow animation.
You grip the bow like any shortbow, you pull the sling like any string.

There was no sarcasm in my post, no reason to be. :S

Not used the sling in a while but I’m pretty sure there is a difference between it and a bow. And if not I would stand corrected but I wouldn’t really see much difference between the animation of the bow/sling vs a crossbow. Besides having to hold it with both hands and load it of course but they could always leave the loading out. As I’m pretty sure they did for the sling.

And again, i STRONGLY disagree with this request, as it would waste alot of gems i’ve spent. Yes, i know its expensive but its worth it to buy a set for each alt. After seeing what the feedback was on shared inventory slots, i hope they never create a “shared harvesting slot”.

Tbh if they did add such an item/service as this it would make little difference to what you have already purchased. Yes I know you wouldn’t have needed to in the long run but that’s a totally separate issue that I would agree with as I was burnt on a second copper salvage in this way when the shared inv slots came out.

However what it would mean for OTHER players is that THEY would not have to spend so much for the convenience and hey I would be happy for them. And yes I too have purchased various unlimited tools, about 3 sets so far I think and an extra clockwork pick (2 total).

Even so, with 3 dedicated unlimited tool sets I would welcome such an idea as this as I have a total of 11 chars and do not plan on buying anymore unlimited tools in the near future (boycotting over the copper fed issue :P). Don’t even mention using them via the shared inv slots as that is just not worth bothering with. I have 9 alts parked out at the flax farm, having to unequip – place in shared inv slot – remove from shared inv slot – equip to char and then repeat that whole process is just far too clunky to do for 9 chars…..

It’s a lot more easier and less of a headache to simply go to my guild instance and buy 5 new tools and then return to where I was. Of course such an idea as the OP has suggested would simply mean I would not need to do that anymore and hey Anet would earn some new sales from people buying those shared tool slots.

Basically sums up why Anet shouldn’t pander to people like you.

PvE players: “Waa Waa Anet. We PvE players shouldnt have to do WvW for our World Map completion, Waa Waa, it’s too hard!”

Anet: “OK”

Yeah, not to players like me, but players like them.

It was never hard, I had to do the WvW map completes on 9 out of my 11 chars so far that have World complete. It was a bit of RNG (or luck for better words) and waiting tho which is why people complained and rightly so.

To be honest tho it is one way that Anet makes money from us – convenience items. Would you rather that they had Pay 2 Win elements instead?

Zhaitan – World Boss Event

This sounds really interesting and has some very interesting ideas for new fights. However I think that making it a fight against Zhaitan breaks the story way to much as he is already dead. Even if it was a minion of his, it would still brake story.

He’s not really dead if you are in any of the maps even after killing him. He’s really only dead in the instance where you kill him. I know that sounds crazy but that’s how it is lol. Time has stopped so to speak on all those maps to the point before he was dead. Go to Orr and the mobs will say random stuff about him. It’s the same for Mordy as well even after you kill him.

Heck I can go to Eir’s house and even speak to her when she is supposedly dead!

I agree a world boss fight for Zhiatan could be fun and finally put to rest people’s comment’s on how lame he was as a boss.

I always like the idea of being able to weapon swap, if you didn’t have any weapon kits on your utility bar.

I think you would have to also add in having no turrets on toolbar. But even then I fear they would take away our toolbelt skills. Because tbh with kits/turrets and toolbelt we really do not need another weapon option.

I think there is a still a fairly big question that they can answer now – and that is, what is Living World and what isn’t.

Which of the following do they consider to be potential content for one of these living world updates and which is outside the scope (and which are reserved for expansions):

  • Open World Maps
  • World Bosses
  • Fractal Islands
  • Guild Missions
  • Adventures
  • New Mastery Lines
  • Collections
  • Elite Specializations
  • Weapon and Armor Skins
  • Jumping Puzzles
  • Guild Hall Upgrades and Decorations

Is there anything missing from this list?

I would be very interested in what we can expect with these LS updates. Just as importantly, for those pieces that aren’t considered living story, what are they doing to make sure they aren’t neglected completely (for example, we haven’t had new PVE guild missions in more than 3 years).

There is a lot of potential in this new model, but if living world is nothing more than a dozen story short instances every year, it really isn’t what is needed. We need a better idea of what is and isn’t included.

But I thought all that mattered was loot? Surely there will be new loot right!? If not, then forget it, we don’t NEED it!

I don’t get this post at all…

It’s related to a video that was made and commented on 4 years ago. Adding to that there were only 316 comments total when the vid has been seen 100k+ times.

So can someone please tell me how they can think this game failed or is “hated so much” or whatever based off a vid that was made/watched 4 years ago and then commented on by so few people who probably never even gave the game a try or even a decent look before commenting.

Edit: in fact just browsing through the comments they all seem to be positive, so again I ask wtf is this post about lol? Not too mention even if they were negative comments they would have been about a game that was not even released at that time and barely even showed 5 seconds of footage of GW2 anyway in said vid…..

Suggestion for better Targeting Skills

Just thought of another addition that would be nice:

Alongside the right click option for every Target (as well as every other skill) an added option to select weather or not that skill will auto target an enemy if no target is selected. Atm we have a separate option for this in the settings which covers ALL skills. I can see this being helpful for some certain skills – think Engi Rocket Boots, any speed skills where you simply want to get away fast and not draw any aggro etc.

Achievement cap [Merged]

I have been here since day 1 of the 3 day head start and pretty much done the daily every day and the monthly pretty much every month when that was a thing. The only exception to this was I was without a computer for 3 months.

Having said all of that I have just hit 21k achievement points and finally got my Radiant boots. Want to know how much AP’s I have from my daily? Barely even halfway through my 15k cap.

I think the current system is fine and working as intended. If it continued to let players get AP points every day it would seem like an endless thing and as others have stated, it would seem for some of us as no way to ever catch up. Even if we are long time players ourselves.

Focus on your own personal goals, the AP chest rewards and forget about this “competition” thing. Heck I left another game that was super grindy and a leaderboard fest for this game simply because it’s a lot more fun and less stressful imo, I don’t EVER want to go back to something like that.

Now if you simply want the daily to continue giving you points simply because you want easier APs and without having to put in the time and effort to earn the rest of the achievement points. All I can say to that is, “just do it” lol, suck it up and do them! :P

I would however have absolutely NO issue if they took away APs from our current totals from old/past events that are not possible to do anymore. So too the AP’s for the old monthlies since we can’t do those anymore.

However I would expect they add more achievements that everyone could do or adjust the points needed on those AP chests to cover some of the losses of our totals.

You might want to try logging into GW1 once and a while too and see if you can find any there. It could be they didn’t like gw2 and went back to 1 or they may play both. Or you could find at least a couple who may pass the message on to others that may play gw1 now and then.
