There was an Bug in eb, that a node, with the same place (always around SM green side) mithril, only gave 1 ore. It was never fixed, but clearly a bug. Now the nodes got removed, then added to towers/capture points.

It’s definitely not a map wide limit bug, but a node specific bug. And it seems to happy only with ancient node/orichalcum and rich mithril.

Elder Wood Log Price

It’s because of the legendaries, certainly. Mike O’brien (don’t have a link, but read it on this forums in a quote) said that each living story update (well not each but some) they will use opportunity to launch new legendary.

Two things jump to my mind: the set is almost done (water weapons will not be updated for sure), and, till the expansion and living world 4, there is a lot chance of another legendary. I think that’s the only reason they pushed 2 legendaries in one patch, cause they dont have living world opportunity for a good while.

Siren’s landing (or new wathever new map name is), also has elder wood log. I already farmed 600 today (could have done more if i wanted). The price already dropped 40 copper (4,5 silver now). I’m confidant with the crazy amount of farmers that it will settle down soon at 3 silver. It might stay a while at 3 silver cause the shining blade is beautifull (lots of ppl will try to make it imo). when most of those ppl did it, price will drop furthre again to about 2 silver (maybe not that low, since ppl will sit more on elder wood for future legendaries after this incident imo).

Now if Anet somehow interrupts with any new demand in next weeks, then it would truly crash the market (not good).

Atm I need craploads of woods for my several legendary projects (including new sword, predator, and nevermore). I still all my wood, cause it’s so interesting atm, value wise. Lots of ppl like to farm easy gold, and this has been since last quarter the best material farm rate/silver income in a while, so with that alone, the high demand will soon be met by high supply, and the high demand will loose the battle of high supply (imo).

I’m against mounts on all acounts, it doesn’t fit gw2. Magic carpets etc and other stuff (maybe golems?) other magic stuff, that would work. But monsters carrying you? nope. It would destroy gw2 immersion, and quickly make it feel like a korean grind game. People will ignore graphics when on mounts too, and thus they will be bored more quickly, take my word for it anet. Walking = being forced to enjoy graphics.

I hope Anet comes to it senses, and find other gem shop hypes to go on, like glide skins.

As for the ‘if you don’t like it don’t use it’. Won’t work. It’s like facebook. 90% uses it, so you must (in a limited way) use it, if you want to stay connected to certain friends (who for instance have now only facebook as chatting app). Same with mounts. Also as i raid, immersion now is that most gw2 characters walk, and love to walk. That’s also how the game feels/teached us to like it. When all over the place big mounts will sprint by you, nope doesn’t fit gw2. And not using it will not remove the immersion break everytime a mount runs by. Especially an ultra flash, unicorn arrow glow spamming mount.

Game crash at the end of the match

Yesterday i crashed 7 times or so, i send all reports to anet, to be certain that it becomes priority. Not a single time could I succesfully log from pvp char to pve char (wich i queue with). Immediatley after, or long after end of match all doenst matter = 100% certain a crash for me (last 15 matches). It did not happen when not pvp heart of the mists launched.

Engineer Downed State

Not as useless as thief downed state in PvE, I’ll say that much. At least we can CC bosses so people can get us back up.

TBH most classes have crap down states. I think the most useful I’ve seen are mesmer’s and ranger’s.

Thief is best downed state almost in pve. The auto attack bounces to 3 targets. With the new mastery ‘spectral’ agony, if you dont ever use nr 5 you get a signet that says ‘all attacks heal 900 hp+. On thief that’s 3000 heal per auto attack if there’s more then 1 target. I often over 2 minutes surviva in fractals with that attack and rallied (or just ralliedi n 10 secs, cause of the healing it gives).

Apart from CC (wich rarely works in downed state), Engie is worst downed state. It started with to low damage on nr 1 for being single target.

Hammer Rev Damage Needs Nerf

CoR imo isn’t that good. AGainst good raid blobs, (who have permanent protection and some of them minstrel gear), it does only 4k damage and is healed immediately, and you loose your targets in the stacking.

Secondly if the enemy moves, and you move, it’s like only 750 range spell, since, it only starts from your starting position and while you walk it slowly moves forward. So you will rarely catch ppl with it.

Also auto attack spam? A good zerg/blob has tons of guardians, everywhere reflect. Nr 1 is suicide, except against bad zergs, and downed ppl.

I agree rev is strong, but guardian is much stronger and much more op imo. With their ‘convert power to condi damage’ they are celestial tanky, tons of blocks, perma boons (stability and retaliation also wich are rare now), and they do ok power damage and good burn damage. Also guardian while also weak in 1 vs 1 can pack more of a punch in duel then hammer rev.

I only recently started playing rev in blobs (about 50 hours playtime on it now). It’s strong in certain situations, but weak in others. When you play it you will realize it. Stability is a very weak part of rev. 3 stacked line of wardings, and you will not cross, unless you have dedicated stand your ground guardian in squad/party.

The biggest reason i play rev is not cause it’s so much overpowered, (ranger and engineer could do also ranged devastation if played well) but for having 3 skills that bypass reflect meta. Reflect is to strong, killing 4 longbow skills, 5 mortar skills, etc. CoR, phase smash, and drop the hammer are good tools against that.

With HoT they had excuse: Make heavy armor also have 3 professions. With new expansion, i doubt it. Any a fully new profession and two new elite spect (new class would mean that), or just 9 fully fleshed out elite specs? Last is clearly easier for Anet and probably will deliver more on the quality also.

New Gemstore is worse for me. Sell lists no longer have equal sized blocks. It’s chaos everywhere, and the promotions tab (only one I care about honestly), it’s much harder to get an easy and quick impression of what’s on sale. Chances are high that i will miss items.

Secondly the top bar sucks. The gem buy button is ‘ugly’ small, in comparison to the bar size, making it look chaotic and disruptive. Add to that, that no longer the squares tabs of style, utility, etc are MUCH LESS CLEAR then in the past. Contrast went down, vertical split lines hidden until hovered over one tab, Text smaller, contrast lower, hard to read on bright background.

I has a tiny more modern edge the store, at the huge cost of simplicity, and ease of use. If you ask me, this was a very bad decision. And even IF it would have been a good make-over, it would be waste of resource. Anet often says ‘we can’t do that, not enough resource’. Sorry but if you take time for this overhaul, then you have time for everything!

That’s the thing. There no longer is bonus strike. So the ‘feature’ of 4 strikes (3 for plants) on unbound tools in one go, only is usefull for guild hall nodes, and rich ore nodes. You will NEVER Again get 4 ore/wood strikes without Item booster buff. So in the wide open world, the ‘feature’ of the new tools is useless.

On plants it’s easy to know if you go extra strike, the unbound magic is all after each other (2-3) and same for the materials you got. Not 1 material, X magic, 1 material, X magic, that’s only when you get single strikes on plants.

The bonus strike is included with the initial gathering when using unbound tools. If you prefer them to be separate then don’t use the tools. Claiming that they’re gone is misleading.

You still don’t get it do you. Unbound tools are an example why the removal of any base % gathering bonus that now is gone, is ironic and sad. There is no use for the ‘gimmick’ outside of the guild hall. Sure i can use other tools (and have them). That’s not the point. I want the 4th ore/wood, and 2nd plant strike chance BACK wich is 100% gone now. That is what my post is talking about.

Correction yes, i mean item booster; I’m not so good with the new improved versions names of the old boosters, so i instinctively caleld it magic find booster (is also both blue). Item booster is correct. And I must have seen 50% wrong also for the extra strikes, will be 33% then. My mistake, typed a bit to fast.

Yes Hannelore, Booster related increases still work. In wvw i had magic find boost for a while (out of candy corn gobbler), and that gives 50% chance extra strikes. Suddenly i got 3 strikes extra from first 3 nodes i farmed.

I advocate arenanet, to put a static % for everyone. You can even nerf it a bit compared to past (average of matchup renewel, end just before end of matchup). What is 2-7% of boost as base? Cash shop items still have big advantage. (30-50% extra strike chance).

Win win not Arenanet? We still happy with a low chance, you still happy you could nerf materials and thus income of players.

Proof plz. I farmed over 3000 nodes (in past certainly 50 of them would crit). And no use of exp booster that gives extra strikes (or any buff that does) just basic roaming.

Also i do NOT mean the 2x wood per strike thingy. I mean the extra strikes that ‘prolong’ the life of the node after normal amount of swings.

Also the XP is removed (the source was wvw bonus panel), if that is removed why isn’t yours removed?

There is a chance there is a super minor chance still possible as base, but it’s so low it’s not visible (like 1% mf, you will not feel extra loot). In past the 5-17% definitely meant a difference.

Edit talked with the guys farming the elder wood log nodes at paga waypoint. A few of them said it’s definitely removed, and somewhere in patch notes.

Anyway if that is so, i would advocate for a straight buff, (balance by economics team) between 1,5 and 5% for extra strikes. It suddenly makes the new tools not useless (and more fun to use honestly). It also makes material farming runes quite a bit more fun, the nthe 3% generic loot increase might suggest. It’s small stuff like this that makes the game more fun arenanet, don’t like past it/ignore it. Like finally being able to earn spirit shards again, per bonus lvl up is also something that makes big difference. I advocated strongly for the come back of this too, ty for doing that.

Edit: I suspect it’s this part of second last (june 6th ) patch notes “Power of the Mists has been disabled and has been replaced with the new Skirmish Reward UI.”

Hi

I’ve searched forum and patch notes but couldnt find anything. Since a few days, about a week maybe two, I notice that i never get a extra strike on plant/wood/ore nodes. At first i was like hmm, just bad luck, but i know the rates, and i farm a lot of materials. AT some point i was more sceptic, and started to look on almost every swing. No extra. For 5 days a lot of farming, still no bonus swing. Then in wvw, i used exp booster (from gem shop), but didnt rememer it has bonus critical chance on nodes. First node, boom, extra strike. That’s when it hit me.

Wvw ‘bonus’ panel, that gave healing, hp, extra experience per kill, critical strikes on nodes, is gone. This panel isn’t much of a loss, as are most of it’s components. However it seemed to turn critical strikes down from 5-17% if i remember correctly down to zero, or close to zero (0,00001% figures). Farming materials is repetive, but the bonus strikes made it very nice sometimes even. The surprise made the run more worthwile.

It’s also ironic, that the newest tools (unbound magic tools), Farm 2 extra strikes from plants and 1 from Wood/ore nodes. But those are 100% useless without some base node critical hit farming.

My request is, to make the base ‘critical strikes’ on nodes (2nd on plants, 4th on iron/wood ores – and all above that too), an average, or slightly lower then average, of what the wvw bonus was in the past.

I also don’t think this would cause economic problems honestly. Just more fun to farm mats. It was already quite rare in past, but getting an extra strike on an orichalcum or ancient wood log node, were fun, and a good surprise.

PS in the very small chance that i give myself (did tons of node farming last weeks, enough sample size and experience from past), that i’m wrong, please, say so, and with proof if possible, that this nerf didnt go tru.

Also, in a certain fractal a lot of adds spawn. All these adds give same exp. in past it was 790-820 depending on wvw score, and progress in matchup. Now it’s a frozen 780 exp per monster, even late in the wvw week. That also proves for me the wvw bonusses are gone.

I found myself getting out of pvp asap after a match, while in past, i finished fight, opened loot bags etc. It’s disgusting. And now that i won a few matches, other then to troll it doesnt give my victory more thrill. The instant port is the most annoying part. It kill the dynamic of the fight.

Some servers i will not call, will remain ‘bandwagoned’, and remain the problem that plagues wvw. You can only balance a lower server against them to fill the bracket, and the lower server is screwed. And weirdly these ‘bandwagon’ servers often get a link when they don’t deserve it. Bandwagon servers should have a transfer lock (not just expensive) and a link disabled (not possible). As long as that doesn’t happen. Nothing will change.

Adding HoT stats to Celestial

Then it wouldnt be worth it.

However, I keep coming up (for myself) with the best compromise: Celestial stats that do now exist, do not change, the new stats are added but lower then the other stats. Say +700 to all stats (full ascended stats with divinity runes). Then it would be between 300-500 of the new stat (not 700). That would be perfect balance. It would give that condi (wich now sucks, any Condi without duration is massively UP since expertise was introduced), just enough to next to it’s power and defensive capabilities to feel like an allround set again. For instance 350 to both new stats feel like a good and fair compromise. (with fully invested set + runes). Viper will still smash it, same for berserker in damage. And tanky sets also will have edge in tanking. Wich brings Celestial back to it’s purpose, master of noone, but quality in all aspects.

Keep. There’s 5-6 ‘eating’ entities now, that use them and give you loot bags for it. Since i have the most recent ones that eat a mix of two, i almost never get more of these items then i use up. So keep them and get the items that (like mawdrey II), and the item for clearing la stuff achievement, etc.

Legendary Armor Backpiece Attach Point

I would prefer some clipping. First of all we already used to it (even with legendary weapons), second of all, a floating backpiece, feels more ‘out of place’ then clipping, third, when you actually use the weapon, there will be no clipping, and then you have the floating backpiece, with that fixed, in combat, would show a ‘perfect’ view of the armor + weapon + backpiece, wich now never will occur. So yes clipping (imo) is best compromise.

When queueing (most of time it’s after more then 2 min), sometimes I get message ‘you have been removed from queue and must queue’ again out of nowhere, with no ‘seemingly’ reason for it to happen. Either pop up comes and is invisible (this happened without any UI windows open also), or another bug, forces you out of queue.

Encryptions you open, even if it costs you (just make sure that the lockpicks you use are from daily reward/30 discounted you can buy a day).

Matrice you always sell on tp, never trade for key. Since it’s most of time more expensive then an Ectoplasma.

I don’t have a source, but i’m very certain that at earlier game stage, there was 470-550 ppl working on Arenanet. This is bad business if they cut 100 people loose over time.

To my experience, they are about 2-4x on sale during a year. 22 august (birthday of gw2) they usually do massive amount of discounts including bank tab (but dont spend gems right away at first sale, bank discount is usually one of latest). The only time they didnt discount it (during birthday) was during HoT release, to probably get more revenue during the hype.

But even during the year it’s sometimes on sales, i suggest you look every day on promotion tab as i do, and meanwhile get some extra gems with gold/$, to buy more eventually at the discount.

I like how it continues on: The dead of Trahearne. It makes his dead feel more meaningfull, and feel much less like a rude 'decision' from storymakers to listen to community that wanted trahearne gone. I also loved the part with the avatar of pale tree. It's one of my favorite story anchors, so any 'chat' with her is great. And hearing her say 'thank you for saving my people, gives you a heroic feeling that was quite rare since gw2.

The item hunt was also great sending you to some very beautifull (and perhaps to forgotten) locations, like the strawberry farm in Diessa plateau.

So good job on this Anet, i’ll always welcome stuff like this.

There’s only one solution to keep almost all people happy, and that’s a slider. The proposed ‘rare’ effect will kitten off owners. And people hating the soudns will still complain.

It’s also one of the most subjective things in gw2. One player loves Quip and makes it, and now feels better. Another player next to him hates the game more, because he has to hear Quip now. One thing remains: Heavy opinions, that are not able to collaborate.

A slider is best option. Everyone can finetune his game to his likings, without destroying experience for someone else (aka someone who made legendary and likes it’s sounds).

First time SAB came i hated it, cause i hate ‘indie games’. Second time, i rushed for it, cause i wanted the achievements. And apart from the last (ice) level, i had a very fun time in SAB, it’s ‘something different for while’, wich can be a great thing to prevent boredom in a game. Maybe op should try it.

While i like the idea of rebalancing them and more diversity, to me what the proposed list is now, feels so weak, that i might not even bother to select sigils when i’m in hurry for pvp match. So bad they are. Now they are a must include. For instance sigil of leeching/blood, make certain builds a lot more survivable, because they give that ‘slight’ extra push to just outsurvive certain insane bursts (backstab etc). Without them? Boom lots of ppl insta die. And these sigils? No solution to ultra burst, and no solution to one trick ponies, to make them ‘multi trick ponies’ as they did now.

Basically, class traits/skills, damage modifiers etc will now be crucially more important then sigils. That will make the balance gap bigger much bigger.

Ps if you even THINK about removing those sigils from pve (like air, force, fire), plz for love of god don’t… You’d basically kill a big part of customizability. Plz don’t…

Also while sigil balance may not be optimal, most have a certain ‘thril’ to them at the moment, that with the list Evan published will not be there anymore. Like ok i stealth, hold hold hold NOW! and hope your air/fire proc, then quickly escape. Or you are almost death, swap to your ranged weapon use it’s evade (if it has that), then hit enemy with leeching/blood proc. Woops 2k hp (definitely not that much), but it can buy you the time you need to to get your normal damage/survival rotation up again. Now sigil that you list are basically:

I have my build, and i do not extend that build anymore. However I pick a lotery ticket, that i can hardcounter a few buidls in game, wich build is unknown, you pick random. Like the reveal when swapping. That counters thief, mesmer, maybe some others. But that’s it. On necro it will never do anything. and then wich enemies do you get in game? pretty unknown right? So it’s a huge gamble IF it’s usefull or not. Any sigil should always be usefull even to a minimal degree of doing something like 100 extra damage. Most sigils (especially the 10 or so that are meta) do that just fine (even if you nerf them some). It’s the non used sigils that are the prob and need a boost. Removing the bad ones, and nerfing the existing ones to the old bad ones, no no no. Not good. Sigils will no longer be an extension so your build.

They will be: Fire, water, Air, earth sigils

Water counters fire
Air counters fire
Fire counters earth
Earth counters water

I know this example isn’t how elements work, but i quickly wanted to give an example of how i feel of current sigils.

your sigil has only 25% to be effective. You said you wanted RNG to be gone! Choosing Water sigil, and HOPING your enemie is fire, but he isn’t, and you fail = RNG!

I’m getting full sets for my toons, and i do as follow

Backpack: Bloodstone crystal or jade crystal currency or winterberry
Amulet: Bloodstone crystal
Accesoiry 1: Petrified wood
Accessoiry 2: Winterberries
Ring 1: Bloodstone crystal
Ring 2: Winterberry

This prevents that one ring must be attuned and other not. It also splits evenly among maps (a little more on bloodstone crystal/winterberry), but last is very easy to farm, and bloodstone crystal can be fast get if needed with pvp/wvw track, or doing map specific stuff, or farming home node (3 a day).

A few days ago, a youtuber posted video how to get easy Silver doubloons (mystic forge of correct tier gems). Then they spiked down. Now the spike effect is mostly gone.

@ coinhead, i thought it would be obvious by my post, but not. YES they get GoTL independent from the heal functions of any skill. And since it’s 10 now (confirmed, in 5 man team, all + pets get it), so 7+ targets), yes the whole raid would get it, EVEN if not everyone was healed (5 target cap).

I repeat Natural convergenge has NO interraction with players. But patch made it give GoTL and change gotl to 10 targets results, the skill (wich has no ally interaction normally), gave 10 ppl the GoTL buff. And it’s not even a heal/buff skill. If that skill DOES so, then any heal ever, regardless of limits certainly does (and that’s also confirmed with testing btw.)

You give the buff no matter what to 10 ppl. The nr 5 skill: natural convergance, also gives the buff now. You just stand there doing aoe damage/slow on enemies, and per tick your allies get GoTL. If any aoe heal hits a person, even if he’s full hp, he gets GoTL btw. Maybe that’s why you are confused? But since the damage only skill just buffs, i think the heals work the same. the people not healed will still get buff.

For me it’s a free port to do daily specifics of those maps. Like bloodstone fen is pretty far from say Ascalon, portaling from there in one go, spares like 4-5 silver (wp), and time (double load screen to one). And it’s also good for alts of course.

I’ve had this in my mind too, as 4 scrolls is getting my inventory a bit swamped, and new scrolls are likely to be expected. Bit like the fractal permanent potion solution.

Khylo Changes

only the third exit to treb is ok. The rest of the changes killed the theme of the map (and the fun factor). It’s now into the pit of colliseum and foefire as massive zerg fest only maps. Tactics other then winning zerg fight barely work (used to be different). I always vote for the map on wich zerg tactic, fails most often. That used to be khylo. Now that won’t be anymore.

Stop killing maps arenanet. You barely have good maps left. Leave them alone, thanks. As for me, old map but with third exit to treb = best compromise. Plz do so arenanet.

Never EVER had camera problems in khylo. If you play the game a lot like i do, high roofs like that never blind you, maybe if the roof was 5x as low it could be problem, but it’s very high, so no problem.

It’s only in primetime, (19:00 gmt, till about 22:30 gmt +1). After that i had again 0 lag, and could finally complete fractals 100 hard mode.

Mike, i’d like to know when Colin Johanson spot will be replaced (other then you doing your own job and his) at same time. I think that would be a good think for company. Make sure to hire someone with the right mindset.
