Hi lots of ppl non stop dcing (up to 5 times or more after patch). Also i am in a matchup, dc, i get back, (in match), dc, i’m back but in HOTM and everything suggest the match is still going on!!!, restarted game over 4x to ensure patch is updated to my game logs, no avail!

PS season 3 has no signs of showing up at all, is this the bug perhaps?

Fractal Initiate Achievement

If you do level 5 but your personal level is 1, the achievement progress still is towards 5 (not 1). Personal level is REWARD level (aka loot you get level, has nothing to do with actual completion of wich level you do. So far i haven’t found a bug while hunting the fractal initiate achievement and others.

Mystic Coins again

I bought 200 mystic coins, and it gave me 60 mystic clover. Had 4 left. I will farm the rest via pvp, not worth it otherwise. Luckely, I had my coins ready (from login rewards mostly) for hope legendary, Wich I made last month, and i’m not ready for pvp wings too, wich means it will take a big while before I need em again. But for pvp I will focus purely on reward tracks wich give flowers now.

Also second tip: on login reward you can choose option that gives 7 mystic clovers (wich might become the most worthy choice now, over laurels/ascended mat).

I do fractals quite regularly, mostly tier 2 and mix of tier 3 if I have enough AR for daily. No ascended loot except several rings for more than a month. Meh

Droprate improves with Level. T2 isn’t much. You get much better loot if you do T4.

Two weeks of t4 for me = 0 ascended loot (was much better pre-patch for me).

In EU yesterday i had a ping spike of 2090 (my highest ever, that I could see in F11 window). It was so bad, my game froze 2 minutes, then unfroze. When all ppl died in fractals, there was no respawn window. When everybody ragequit (leaving me alone in the frac), the window finally came. Meanwhile i tested youtube, twitch, absolutely no delays in them. Gw2 forums also had high ping.

As a heavy revenant (pve) player post HoT, but also a heavy pvp player (elementalist, engineer, necromancer, druid), I can see a big problem for the devs.

Staff was ‘ok’ in pve (damage was just good, but it’s Utility and feel were great. In pvp however, it was next to overpowered, especially number 5. And revenant has to much stustain (heavy armor, good number of heals, traits that leach/block, protection etc), to have in pvp strong damage weapons with also good survivability. It was just overpowered. I still think a few parts of rev are slightly overtuned, but nerfing them is not the solution.

The true problem is no pve/pvp split. I liked revenant post launch. Knowing the nerfs i don’t have to play to know i will dislike it. Almost every time a class gets a big pve nerf (lots of damage loss etc), i Switch class to next meta.

And this problem will keep on existing in future. Revenant has survival tools (shield block) that are not overpowered in pve (undertuned even a bit to my feeling, with the no movement), but in pvp, they are among the strongest survival tools in existance. Combine these two and balance is next to impossible without split. Sword damage (especially auto attack) was perhaps a bit overtune on sword at launch, but not by much. And nerfing it to much is dangerous, it’s only good dps option ino pve. Staff is also dangerous. It’s the best allready offhand ‘pure power’ weapon set, but without good damage, any weapon feels almost bad in pve.

The big problem for pve revenants: Revenants still leading the ESL pack, and probably even more now cause of some heavy engineer nerfs etc. As long as no pve/pvp split, this will cause disbalance between the two modes.

Chill used to do 650-1100 damage per sec, nerfed now into a 100-150 bleed for 8 sec. And reaper was already quite a bit weaker (epidemic not counting) in condi application then Engineer.

I can’t see Necromancer good enough these days unless they get carried by ‘over dps’ing’ allies (34k dps elementalists). Except maybe in Sabetha fight were Epidemic is usefull. I say this not as offence, but with a sad heart, that second viper set for necromancer costed quite a bit!

Might be different now, but engineer was hardest to level for me. Engineer is depandant on kits, traits to do strong auto attack damage (pistol is really weak!) and even full condi focussed weapons at low levels produced very low condi damage, resulting in engineer having a long time needed to kill mobs.

Wallet: No limit in storage (but some are limited in acquisition per day/week, like raids)
Inventory: All slots capped at 250 units
Bank: All slots capped at 250 units
Guild Bank: All slots capped at 250. No account or Soul bound items allowed.
Collection Expander: All slots capped at 250, but expandable by 250, per 700 gems payed, to a maximum limit of 2000. It’s coded in such way when you double click (to draw items) from a collection expanded stack, that you only draw 250 maximum per double click, to inventory. 4900 gems it costs to reach 2000 collection expander (can be aprox 20% cheaper during sales).

If you hover over the trait, on top right is a clock icon, with a number next to it, wich is the traits cooldown (almost all trigger traits have a cooldown, especially strong ones like 3 condie cleanse at once).

Time to Dust off my meteorlogicus, the way Scepter plays has always been much to my liking, but Cast time issues, and bad auto attacks holded it back. While this buff is not lifting the weapon up to the top of the top, it makes it viable in pve for sure (haven’t tested in pvp yet). And more importantly: much more fun. Finally it feels more fluid in it’s fast switching gameplay. The Air buff is really good. Sure it’s not lead dps in the game still, but it has two advantages: No reflect can counter it and it hits 3 targets in line. I kinda like it now, still below dps other weapons sets, but finally good enough to actually use it (auto-attack). Water trident is a neat buff, I always liked this skill but felt a bit underperforming.

Hi Frands,
I haven’t had much time to spend on the forums as of late and as a result I’ve unfortunately been mostly mum on these types of threads. Since many of you are fresh faces and didn’t visit the forums back when I used to frequent more often, I’ll reintroduce myself (in tl;dr format), and after that we’ll get down into the nitty gritty.
I’ve been at ArenaNet for a little under 3 years. Prior to that, I was a PvP fan just like yourselves. I ran multiple GW2 PvP-specific podcasts, hosted GW2Guru’s State of the Game (wow, that’s old), managed some of the earliest tournaments such as Curse’s Masters of the Mists, and casted dozens of other events (including the first ESL tournament and the 2013 Pax Invitational). Little known fact – in the early days I even played on Team Paradigm NA with Phantaram as well as a number of other teams. I was offered a job at ArenaNet in 2013, and after moving around to a few different teams I ended up on the marketing team as a Brand Manager. My time isn’t dedicated entirely to the PvP (I work with a number of other dev teams), but I am for all intents and purposes the “commissioner” of Pro League and most other events that we’ve run in the past.
Ok, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s address the OP’s question ? “200k on pros, why?”
Competitive play is something we’ve always been a fan of at ArenaNet – you could say that it’s a part of the company’s DNA, and it’s something we’re committed to supporting just like any other part of our game. The PvP team has been working hard to take PvP from where it was at launch to where it is today (seriously, think about it) and the marketing team has been keen on supporting them. Together we grew the active player-base for PvP by 135% last year – and that’s pretty awesome. After all, things like matchmaking quality and queue times gets better the more people that you have. It’s more or less my job to try to figure out how to replicate that growth as much as possible, and after looking at all the options available for the marketing team, we decided to go down an admittedly riskier path and dedicate some of our budget towards the Pro League initiative. I’ll add that most of Pro League’s costs were funded out of our paid media budget which fuels the advertising banners you’ve probably seen displayed on a variety of websites (or maybe you don’t, because it’s 2016 and you use ad-blockers, which is why initiatives like this are so important!).
There’s certainly a unique opportunity for growth here. We get to talk about our game in new interesting ways with an entirely new group of gamers – some of which may never had been interested in playing MMOs previously. It’s not often that you get to do that.
I think the main takeaway is that Pro League in no way takes away from development for any other aspects of the game (but I can understand how that assumption could be made), but the upside here is that when any part of the game grows – the entire game benefits. We’re not trying to make GW2 into a PvP MMO – it’s just one of the many facets of the game that we all love and want to see be even more successful.

Well ‘pvp player base has grown 135%" (Josh davis quote, he removed post though). A lot of this comes from luring pve players with ’cute loot’ (aka wings).

They want to even push it further he said. That’s not gonna work by throwing off newbie accounts out of the true pvp scene. I sorta agree with op (though it will have to be set up carefully, there’s so many ways to screw up pvp in other ways with a requirement level).

I think they won’t do what op asks.

I use G500. Only the button that you use on websites for ‘next’, ‘last’ are straight into the gw2 keybindings table, to insert an action. All the rest, strictly from gw2 keybinding UI speaking does not exist. I have to use logitech software to bypass the UI not showing them. For instance + sensitivy – sensitivity are now, use elite, use toolbelt (above elite). They are not seen by gw2 UI.

At the keybinding bashers: Logitech is extremely difficult to properly keybind. Gw2 doesnt recognize any but two keys of the mouse. You can use the other keys. But you must do a complex bypass rythm. Say the µ-button (that you never use or reach), you put that in gw2 as ‘important skill activation’ for instance utility skill 3. Then on logitech, you forward a non recognized mouse button, to insert that actoin (µ-button). End result is you can still use the keys on your mouse, but if you change one setting, you may start all over to set it, quite annoying.

The nature of MMR hell

So if i get it right then this can happen:

Someone in diamond looses 1000 games in row. (Not a single win). I’m exagerrating to make the point more clear.

His mmr glicko points are completely Eaten.

Instead of giving him good players to compensate a little, so opposing team can’t roll over, he gets ALL THe trash of diamond paired with him. On top of this, enemy team can all be very good mmr glicko score players. And Anet considers this fair matchups?

I had a win streak until diamond. I’m finally loosing. Quite a lot so. Should i stop playing just protect myself from the above explained situation? I want Exalted legend badly. I’m a better then average player (give me someone to duel with and i win 70% of times, in team fights it’s more complex. And here is the issue: Yesterday i had same ele 3x on my team. He played well. Other 3 players played hugely bad. No pressure on enemy, no cap point prevention, no support to allies (heal, protection). When i finally downed 2 enemies on my own mostly, they just kept pew pewing from far, giving enemies a free rally. This happened 7x, 3 matches in row. (21x). I then went each time far (no other choice). I each time won it (duel, or 1 vs 2). Guess what happened.? Close + mid, + map mechanic got won by enemy…. jeezes.

I’m worse then any ESL player, or primordial legend from first season, but i’m not worse then the worst of diamond, not by long shot. But the system punished me from loosing to ESL classified people, cause a loosing streak, gives you the worst ppl in your team without compensating enemy team accordingly. What a crap Anet.

To think i got diamond this season, and only ruby last season, i must have some skill in me not?

So evan Lesh are you basically saying ‘if you are average in ruby and or diamond,’ and are average player, and unlucky i your first win streak, then you will get the worst of the worst on your team and get a very bad permanent loosing streak as punishment? Do you even want me to play anymore, wtf.

I am from Belgium too. My thought are with the families who lost someone, had familie members close to the attack, and the insured people.

No to pure hate like this! It’s meaningless. Our prime minister said, we can never let the terrorists win! Never give in to fear. And he’s correct. I even took the train that very day. My mom was scared, but the train was far enough from Brussel, and i’m not digging myself in kitten. No to fear!

Also thank you from anyone around the world for the good wishes. It helps more then you think. It give people enough condidence to unite against blind hate.

Getting spiritwood planks will take years?

You need 150 elder wood log per day, 60 hard wood log, 60 seasoned wood log and 40 soft wood log (i may be a bit off, but this is aprox it).

If you farm these per day (not to hard), then you get that finished spirit wood plan all by yourself daily.

Technically you only need the 150 elder wood log per se (so the daily gated charge) can be finished. The rest you can buy on TP (still good, since cheaper that way then buy spirit wood plank). If possible farm them though. Malchor’s leap has a good spot for elder wood log. Right bottom of the map. Just a bit left of that waypoint.

Unacceptable problem

Yes I know Bug problems are > that way. But they are not read. 90% of the bugs i posted there are still not fixed (= ignored).

Pvp is supposed to be smooth gameplay. Long queues block that. But ok you live with it. Then i open my inventory to sort i( you know you gotta do something, to eat the time in HoTM queue times).

Then the queue pops. Normally two options happen (wich is the correct way):

1) Either the pop up is completely in front of all open windows, preventing even misclicking. This should always happen.
2) The pop up is behind the open window (like inventory). Normally escape closes open windows. Most of time this works = no problem you click Queue after, accept done.

Now that huge (imo) bug that’s just kittening me off:

3) happens relatively rare, but when it happens it’s extremely punishing for something that should not be punished at all: The accept matchup window opens BEHIND inventory. But at the time, it THINKS it’s in front of the inventory, not accepting any escape inputs to close windows. Even closing the windows manually at this point doesn’t work. It’s like closing a Word document when you didn’t save it. ‘do you want to save this’ pops up. Closing word is not possible as long as that window is up. Same for clicking inside the document. But now comes the worst part: You cannot click accept and get dishonour, for something a bug cause and you didn’t do.

Fix this bug already. A bug punishing player big time, while they do nothing wrong is (imo) gamebreaking.

Imo shiro is slightly overpowered (crazy dodge possibilty, crazy leap possibility) a good heal that also serves (especially in pvp) as a crazy big dps boost, quickness etc. Every single skill in shiro is usefull and a lot so. In mallyx imo, 1-2 are good and the rest is ‘so so’. Same is true for the dwarf stance.

The problem is HoT introduced a new level in trait/skills viability of ‘being defensive’. These new skills are CRAZY efficient. TAke the shield 5 of revenant (that even can be double with a trait). not only one of longest blocks ingame, it also HEALS while doing so, coming out alive of super sticky situation was never easier. They also overtuned mesmer well of precognition (nerf now though). Any skill NOT very good in defense of offense (or utility) will not be taken. Glyphs (apart from storm and heal) have almost no utility = weak. Signets = same (apart maybe from condi build). Loads of oldscool traits/skills are simply to weak for the current pvp/raid meta.

Unhappy/Confused about Matchmaking

I did not get carried. I often was paired against 3 TeamQ enemy (primordial legends even, wich i never was last season), versus us, just soloQ sapphires. We still won the match.

If you ask me ‘in witch meta, does your playstyle and personal skills come out best’, it’s absolutely this meta. I hated the ‘tank like hell, never die, or loose the matchup’ season 1 meta. So perhaps that encounts for it also.

I’m still worse then the top, but having 3000 hours in wvw, 11500 hours account time, I challenge you to call me a noob that get carried. In fact i’m most of time the only one using team chat to tell people where to go.

Yesterday we were 430-300, being much behind the enemy in points. I managed a decap mid, 1 vs 2, holded it for 2 min, my buddies capped sidenodes, stillness was cast, and we won with 500 vs 470. I mean is that getting carried? I don’t think so. Then again, i shouldn’t fall for trolls offending other players. Now it’s your turn to proof your situation.

Unhappy/Confused about Matchmaking

For me season 1 was horrible (i kept getting matches against premade or to strong soloQ people (Myrnatrix x3 legendary streamer was 3x in row as premade matches against me as soloQ). My loose streaks were huge, and i’m not a bad player (just not top for instance like Myrnatrix).

Guess what: Now i’m winning at a normal rate. I won non stop in amber, lost 1-2x in emerald, and in sapphire, the loss rate is getting even higher, but i’m not complaining, this is how it should be.

For me new system is 1000 000 000x better. I’m feel for those for whom it has gotten worse: but while season 1 may have worked for YOU better, it didnt for some other people.

To me this proofs there is no perfect solution. People complain and complain and complain, but the fact is, you can never please everyone, especially in pvp. Deal with it.

Hearts and mind story? Flight and fancy achievement? (not getting hit by mordremoth rock attack)?

I had crazy much trouble to complete this (solo). What i did was, solo it. Remember very well were the tree is (see guide on youtube). Go relative close to it (a bit under, southward). After 3 blighted npc ‘that you fix’ is one phase i think, 6 blighted is another, etc, remember this. very well. after blighted npc you need a tiny bit of damage to get the phase, do it ranged from the correct spot.

Now if things go wrong, what i did was, suicide. Use his lightnign aoe to accomplish this. Now the npc’s ress you, so you gotta suicide 3x to succesfully die. If you respawn then, the achievement is active again. The only prob is your armor breaks after 8 deaths. (repair canisters, can be very handy in here thus).

I suspect Punch, wich is the task of the tank to ‘tank it’ and point the boss his way, (with 9 other ppl on back of boss) to avoid that damage. Basically he does melee attacks (continuous), and the ‘cone’ area he face (very big, like 600-1000 range, but only half circle where he’s pointed at). By standing near a pillar, having the tank stand near pillar, and the rest stand on other side (more inwards of boss room) you avoid punch.

Magnetic shock, does more damage usually.

Good, content for pro player only…

“Pro players” as you call them have been waiting for appropriate content for 3 years.

Now then why do pro player exclude adequate skill, geared players from that very content? I never had a bigger issue then finding a spot in raid, and i went true a lot of trouble to get a full viper set for two professions, including the hard to get mordrem loop amulet. Usually i’m the player making the fewest mistakes on VG.

There’s primordial legends that do NOT use team cheat (all soloQ games). There’s Primordial legend that keep going for cap points they cant win from (like going far 1 vs 2, loosing then, making the others loose mid as well).

Primordial legends using the old warrior (not berserker). While it can be good, it’s nowhere near the current levels of meta. I’ve kill the guy 8x in the same pvp match, and 6x in the next. And I did NOT REACH diamond (was ruby).

I see a lot of primordial legends with either high achievement count (wich means their experience in pvp is limited, pve ap requires these days a lot of time, See HoT), or other stuff that proofs they only play pvp casual.

Or two enemies downed, a third one a live (but not really a threat that much, a thief with low hp), i’m downed as the allie of some primordial legends. Guess twice what they do? They just AUTO ATTACKED, the down body for more then 20 secs. They ignored me AND the thief. Guess what the thief did? He stomped me (took him actually very long, making this mistake even worse). Both enemies rallied, they died within 5 secs after the enemies regrouped.

Primordial? geezes.

Or another mistake: They do not know tranquillity timer, or stillness. They don’t even seem to realize it’s impact. Lost twice because of that. I call the timer (they don’t read it), they don’t come, enemy gets both, kaboom, we so much points behind, that even the ‘zerg the enemies mid’ strategy fails badly.

I’m not claiming to be an expert, but this was just bad and sad to see. I guess the achievements and title lured a lot of pve players in pvp, more so then I thought. And the mmr bypasses, actually existed last season.

Agree fully. I’m 2020/2500 for sweet tooth. Then a familie member got serious sick, So i’ve dropped my plans for that day and visited the person in hospital. I was home at a time sometimes the patch still has to hit (often it is up already though). I had bad luck, it was up. And I though that like alcohol, sweeth tooth would remain accessable. But it wasnt.

Primordial legend is a double mistake. Firstly, you are supposed to get 3 ap, for getting ruby (5 if you complete the title). I am ruby and have 0 ap. Knowing how lazy Anet is in regards to AP, i will NEVER see that 3 ap. What’s more, the people who got legendary in first season are very lucky. Anet communicated mostly ‘this yeazr there will be this wings, next year diff’. No word about the ap. So i assumed it’s a year too. Nope!

So Anet owes me at least 3 ap points (primordial legend should be 3/5 not 0/5 since i’m ruby first season), the wintersday title. And perhaps a big sorry for letting me loose perma opportunity to get primordial title without warning.

But my hopes are low. All marketing now, they don’t focus on their veterans anymore, and how they feel about being treathed (Farming a high achievement count is pretty much endgame content, veteran content, ignoring that = ignoring veterans imo, and they’ve been doing this for ages).

Thing is, if i fully ‘let the pvp spirit take my mind’ for a bit (wich is not good, more on that later), and player super competitive, I might win a few. But I also might have a streak of 480-500 or closer games. Say that happens. Say that 8 matches in row this happens. I will start considering the game machmaking to be at fault and NOT my team/team composition. While close enough for rematch, the game clearly keeps putting my team slightly ahead of the true expected win rate. It might feel like small impact, but loosing 8 pips!!!! for 8 VERY incredibly well played games (imo), is just wrong. It will make me rage, and not know where to send the rage at. Sure you could ‘find ways to improve,’ but there’s also limits in that. Same for ‘keeping the pvp spirit’ (hardcore wanting to win, doesnt matter via screaming, elitism, as long as you win). It’s not good. Game is i meant to be fun, and keep you busy with goals.

Two problems: Forcing people to have 75% win rate (is necessary to cross ruby /diamond consistently), gets the worst in ppl. It will remove the fun part (hence true pvp spirit is wrong imo).

By forcing you (sometimes) to loose 490-500 many times in row, and be punished for it, you will get mad. You did all you could witrh your team, but didnt work out. Who’s at fault? It’s not logical to just say the team (it’s only 2% diff, wich can be statistical error, or just luck on enemy side). You will get mad. Your will to win (in this sort of matches), will fall down in no time. And in every next game you feel you are loosing, you will not waste energy and ‘rage quit’ (or ’economicly save your pvp sportsmanship in the matches it might be more ncessary).

Result: the fun factor in pvp is TWICE damaged. The frustration levels are TWICE increased.

And the will do farm the goal (wings), is damaged. Cause Anet forces you in matches you can almost not win. And not winning is loosing out on the wings (you need pips).

This is speaking from a mostly soloQ (using chat to communicate) perspective.

Upcoming Changes for PvP League Season 2

The prob is, in last league, as soloQ, you could ‘trolltank’ (overpowered mesmer tank build), that even ultra smart good opponents had trouble to kill. All you had to do, is keep up the survival rotations ok, and don’t get stunned. So even the most clever, legendary, whatsoever players, couldn’t ‘burst’ average players down. They were slowed down a lot (often leading into frustration, mistakes, and unexpected losses). Even teamspeak couldnt really (quickly) save them from this fate.

Now we got ‘kill fast or be killed fast’ meta. This means teamspeak will be so crazy important, it’s not even normal. This means a 4man Queue will hugely win out froma 1-1-1-1 queue. Even if all individual players are crazy skilled (and equal enough to be dumped in the same match), this won’t work. The TeamQ skill level will get 30% better due to better response time, on coordination centric situations. But their mmr won’t be ‘seen by the game as’ 30% better.

Conclusion: teamspeak above average teams will ROCK this season, and soloQ’ers will have huge huge huge trouble, unless they finally loose 200 matches to have the game consider them LESS then there skill level, so that that encounts for the 30% mmr diff that is not seen by the game but exist by teamspeak use.

More they just didn’t think to implement that shortcut is all. Just like they didn’t re-add the f12 -> c shortcut to quickly log to your character select screen. that’s another one I’d like to see come back.

Atm it is F12 + ’move the mouse to the middle button (char select) + Enter
Gw1 was F12 + C (does char select immediately) + enter (ook about 1-2 sec)

Bought 5000 Incandescend dust just in time it seems. And i had stockpiles of opel (and other) crystals. So I made my orbs that way. So i still made the ‘hoped for’ 500g cost tresshold for the orbs. Just in time it seems, this can only get worse. There WAAAAAAY less ori/ancient wood nodes then any other. And they still have about a 1/20 Orb drop rate. It will be already huge if eveyr player in game gets 1 orb a day this way. With more then 1 legendary demanded per day, 2250 orbs per legendary, this can only get worse.

Raid condi build

Hmm I got now viper (ascended) Necro And engie (ouch my wallet), and honeslty while necro is very good, and I even WANT it to be the best, at VG i don’t see it surpassing Engineer anytime. (Epidemic is useless there almost). The best I got was 10k bleeding, 2k poison, 1k chill, with some power damage to support. That was spikey, holding that up is hard and relies on rng (bleed on crit). The most high number on bleed (that stays that way and doesnt drop often below) i could get was 5500. +2000 poison, +1000 chill. About 8200 dps give or take a bit. I could be slightly more in perfectly buffed situations (sun spirit, druid damage buffs, banner of warrior), but not by all to much. So i doubt even at gorseval necro rules (apart from mob killing utility with epidemic). I’d love to be proven wrong, but so far, engie can do double damage, easely as necro without the ultimate buffs. That being said, i love the survivability of necro, and it’s hidden support. And that it’s way easier to do some heavy combo’s then engie (same for breakbar, easier to hit the bar).

Will have to test ranger later, but since no raids accept them as condi dps, i have my doubts (my condi reaper was not allowed several times too, in favor of engineer).

All explosion sounds are softer. It’s something they did 8-14 months ago. Like you know crab tosS? or the similar crabs in southsun the stalk you and explode on your head? Those used to make heavy impact sounds. They made it ultra soft. Same for the air aspect in dry top, skyhammer, etc. Same for grenades. Same for fireball. Same for bombs.

All got a lot more soft. And almost all the people don’t realize it, for me it’s a huge difference (worse play experience).

Glad i’m not alone on this; Killed VG twice (with about 10-15 fail/practise runs also).

But gorseval i can never EVER do, because now ppl only accept experienced, same for Sabetha. And overall (to me) they look easier on the video’s then VG (but that might be because doing it is harder then it looks on vid). Either way, no practise is a huge wall, to some player to progress further.

Also even getting in VG as a pug (my guild doesnt to raids) is very hard. A bit to hard imo.

Royal Terrace Pass vs. Captian Airship Pass

I like both. If you DON’t own home portal stone, perhaps terrace is better. If you do, Captains pass has some advantages. It has black lion weapon skin npc. Crafting stations are closer to each other, it has daily activity npc (quite important for me since la load times are very long). It also has slight shorter load time. It’s also good for iron ore farm runs (you pause there, and check down if the nodes respawned and do your run, then pause again in there). Airship is also better for fast portalling. First the load time is faster. Secondly, the npc to teleport is very easy and fast to reach (slower and further away with royal terrace). The Waypoints where it teleports you are on the SIDE of the city (next to an exit, most of time). This make the captains pass a better way to ‘travel fast but free to a newb area’. The royal pass takes one more port within a city, adding to the load times.

Royal terrace inherits event decorations. It is also right inside a city wich is plus for some people (more lore, more ways to enjoy (map chat more busy) etc. The repair npc is much easier to access. The npc that has the salvage kits is much easier to access. (might soudn stupid, but I make quite some ‘mystic’ salvage kits’, on the ship it requires more clicks and movement (to the crafting npc’s). Terrace also feels less claustrafobic i guess. Without an event, I feel terrace can get a bit boring. Anyhow, having them both, solves all problems of choosing for me.

Features wise the captain’s airship pass is more up to date, but flavour wise the terrace pass is going strong, and will suffice for most players. It also synergizes very well with wintersday, gold pavillion, lunar events, and farming the home instance. For most players this will be the choice. But if the features the Captain airship pass offers exlusively are important to you, getting that should be your pick.

Why remove any content from game? It just is counter productive. Like the old water pvp map was amazing (even when almost nobody went underwater). If it’s unbalanced, or something, then at least let it be used in hotjoin, what’s the harm? I don’t see any.

Will Anet try to do something about the Elitism in Raids? It’s already big time there (would be even crazier with dps meters). I mean i’m in a very big, very nice guild (980 members across two guilds). Finding a nice guild is hard. So i’m keeping this one. However finding a guild for raids is next to impossible. Either the guild has 10 trusted members (wich is perfect fit for raids, more members would cause a fight for guild raid slot drama), or just doesn’t accept non representing. LFG’s are so discriminating lately, that if you never done the bosses before you are disqualified. It’s even come this far that, while i have killed VG twice, i cannot fight ‘practise’ groups for sabetha and gorseval. Either be the early adopter king or get lost seems the current setting. I even made gear specially for raid, but ppl still don’t accept me. (either already full, another friend got priority, we don’t accept strangers, we need 20+ proofs of boss slaying, etc. So to repeat question: Will Anet try to find a way to make Raids more broadly played (without making em easier ofc)?

Nerf efficient raid build after spent G on eq

I’m playing viper/sinister necro, and i’m liking it much more then engie. Engie has not so good (condi wise) auto attacks, and relies on cooldown spamming. I know the rotations very well, but even then you sometimes mess up. Add to that the breakbar/seeker mess sometimes and engie dps drops down the drain.

My necro has more reliable CC (imo), better auto attack for condies, better support for sure (transfusion, a super support trait without kiling the ‘all out condi damage’ build, by taking this trait), epidemic, more hp (and survivability. Better ranged pressure (green circle duty).

I think reaper’s deserve spot in raids. It’s just i haven’t found raids open to them yet.

Max bleeding dps i managed was 9200 on Mossman with full buffs, banner, might, and druid +15% damage by his heals trait buff. 1000 damage by chill, 2000 poison, torment 1500 i think etc. Pretty good imo.

If we ignore big hitboxes (so no gorseval), how does tempest have top dps on VG? Scepter auto is garbage, so dps is not there. Lightning whip is good, but not great, i’m pretty certain thief sword/dagger/staff auto do more now with the boosts. That leaves staff aoe spam. It’s good, but imo not great. And ele lacks survivability in that build. If you go fire + air + only one potential defensive line, a ele making mistake is getting almost one shot. And staff auto’s are very meh.

Only fresh air + air overload (and sometimes burning), seems to work for me. But there’s still windows with no burst skill available (using auto attack) wich is the limiting factor of ele. Big hitbox, no question the meteor shower hitting non stop, outweights downside of weak auto. But on VG the situation (imo) is all diff.
