You don’t have to, you just use the npc’s bubble…
Day 1
People who made their own guild for guild bank storage rejoice.
Day 2
Every single guild bank in the game has been filled with cheap account bound items that nobody else in the guild can remove.
More guardian heals? Ya that’s what we need…
I guess the Stronger Bowstrings bug might be difficult to fix for some reason, but the fact that Berserker’s Power is like that… I can only assume they forgot to change it.
Thanks for bringing this up.
The bug on bowstrings is the lbow skills got patched, months ago. They never applied the changes to the ‘stronger bowstrings’ skill set for the lbow. You can tell they’re stored as 2 separate database entries because swapping in/out the trait makes your skill bar flip like you weapon swapped.
The weapon skins from the achievement point chests can be withdrawn infinite times from your achievements screen on any character. Each one is just generated soulbound.

Not surprised he chose to replace the mesmer instead of another war.
And unlike the LH ele the ranger doesn’t really have much war replacing potential. At best they can replace one war. It doesn’t grant the kind of benefit the LH ele does through spamming LH into fire fields. The only things it can bring is done by a single ranger at which point you’ll hit high diminishing returns for taking more. They also lack the utility such as crowd control with that weapon set and we all know how useful the war mace knockdown / guardian pull or banish / mesmer interrupt / LH launch are for CoE farms. Seems like a leech build, exactly like Nike’s necromancer.
This thread would be brazil’s best troll if it manages to convince a couple people to spend their in game gold to craftlvl a ranger.
Heavy diminishing returns on stacking a class isn’t exactly a problem, it promotes diversity. It’s why you only took 1 healer in trinity games, at most 1 main and 1 that’s only hybridized healing, or only 1 class with a party haste buff (stacking haste buffs aren’t exactly the norm).
It makes the game significantly less visually bland and helps equalize the value of differently restricted pieces of gear (altho not of differently stat-ed pieces).

kitten , I was hoping at the end that you would get a kill shot channel started on the thief, he would stealth, and you would hit him for 20k while he was stealthed.
Haxi we’ve had similarly simple to fix problems for a really really long time. The tooltip isn’t wrong, the skill itself was intended to do 15%. It was 12% BEFORE it was moved to the grandmaster. Clearly somebody changed the tooltip and COMPLETELY IGNORED CHANGING THE SKILL. Here’s what happens if you use a steady bow on a light golem in spvp while naked.
Also, A lightning hammer ele could out DPS a warrior, but that requires a lot more group organisation.
It also requires a warrior…
Oh joy…

Condition Warrior is awesome!
Until you play a necromancer…
- Better Utility for group.
- Better Sustain.
- Double the Condition Damage, and can spread it to 5 targets additionally every 16 seconds.
- Range is 1200-900 instead of 130.
- Chill.Also
-AoE blind spam
-faster condition application
-poisonyou forgot chill.
Chill>x2>x3>x4> dead roamer.

Some1 has to carry that mace/shield & hammer dps. (you can apply this to whichever of those classes you want)
Blurred Frenzy – 130 range
Zealot’s Defense – 600 range
Moar food for thought: that wvw gift for legendary isn’t the only thing you can get for all those badges… the token cost for armors alone is similar to that of dungeons, over 1000 for a full set, AND you can get all the crafted stats at 80/exo quality, plus your pick of the litter from all the skins that are otherwise a rage inducing hunt for hearts or grinder on the wiki. (saves big on transmutation crystals if you go for those skins)
Most of those skins trade on the tp for like… 2 silver…
I recorded an AC story run yesterday, actually. There was a shout heal warrior using Banner of Defense and Tactics with Fear Me. He also had T3 armor and Flameseeker Prophecies, and used a mainhand Mace with Hammer on the swap. They are still out there everywhere.
How the hell do you farm enough to get those with such a terrible build?
My only problem with you saying that destroyer is rubbish easy is that through all of my coe runs with LOD never once did they clear it in 1 try without timewarp. So the ability for your members to predict the ease of encounters or the possible usefulness of some classes is rather funny to me.
Oh man, this brings me back. It’s like GW1 all over again
@Brasil
We usually run the standard paths running standard(ish) tactics, from our experience the Guardian generally doesn’t contribute anything spectacular. We generally observed that it was just a DPS loss, and the things you labeled were kind of like a crutch or luxury that you could do without.
Though, yea. Alphard is the one fight I definitely enjoy having a Guardian and/or Mesmer. The abomination is easy enough without it, players after a few runs should be able to read all of his attacks. Belka doesn’t really do a whole lot, she dies before she ports even with just 4 players, and Brie may as well be a laser-bot.
We generally kill the Hunter first, at the Hunter/Crusher fight. It makes killing the Crusher a little smoother until the Hunter is revived, and the Hunter dies when the Crusher dies anyway (on the assumption that you kill him first). Overall, we find that Guardian in Arah is mostly a luxury, it’s nice to have but with players who are pretty experienced there isn’t much of a need.
(I kind of question killing the Hunter first, it’s not my tactic, but it works I guess).
EDIT: I thought about it some more, I guess my experiences are more so based on “we don’t ever have a guardian” rather than “we found our runs were slower with a guardian”. Dub sometimes claims he’d rather run with 5 warriors, but I’m pretty impartial. We generally just run with what’s available, we don’t particularly have a team build or w/e. There’s a difference between ‘needing’ a Guardian and ‘wanting’ a Guardian
See that’s the thing, unless you’re speed running p4 to sell slots to the people still willing to pay for completion, take a guard, drop a tiny bit of dps, 0% chance of any1 dying even if the guard is built for dps. Sure it’s definitely more than doable with no deaths without a guard, but there’s a larger difference in effort than there is in the time to completion :P
Why give each weapon a ‘combat’, ‘escape’, ‘healer’ when you already can do that in your selection of weapons to begin with?
Gifts of Battle are effortless for anybody. WvW gives over 100 badges an hour…
No, it’s not.
You’re highly likely just too much of a bad player.@ emanuel
Players like you contribute to all the bad in the game. Gw2 is a game where you need to know a dungeon to run it well. Comment’s like these keep players from admitting they’re new, which can cause problems. Why would you go out of your way to pull the op down, when you could have built him up, or not posted at all and/or just played the game? The only thing in CM that requires you know what to do is the rocket reflecting. The rest of it is ‘Oh hey, maybe i shouldn’t pull all 20 of those enemies at once.’
Spike trap run, gunners plus flame turret area, the run past the fight club rather than engaging, mobs that cant be pulled, the amount of condition dmg you can end up taking from the dagger mob, net turrets, etc.
There is quite a bit that an experienced group knows how to handle, that an inexperienced group might need a couple attempts at. Then take into account that this is only the second dungeon and many of these types of obstacles haven’t been introduced anywhere in the game to the leveling player yet, it can be tough for an inexperienced group to overcome.
Right, spike traps/pillows.
The rest of that is ‘oh no! npcs!’
No, it’s not.

I gotta admit, I was expecting to see you have 3 people on the lasers and then shoot it from the top for 3 minutes :P
But it would allow you access while running, an advantage the current one doesn’t.
Here’s my opinion on the Badges of Honor being given in the achievement chests…
I’m not happy about the strict PvE players being able to accumulate the number of badges required for a Gift of Battle in just a couple of days, and here’s why:
If a strict WvW player decides they want a legendary, they are forced to complete the entire world map for the Gift of Exploration, forcing them out of the way that they would like to play the game. More specifically, if said player decides that they want Kudzu, then they are forced to farm 500 Deadly Blooms from Twilight Arbor to get the Gift of Thorns. So, the strict WvW player is forced to complete not one, but two, daunting tasks just to get the legendary weapon Kudzu. The PvE player, no longer has to be taken out of their element to get that legendary, all they have to do is log in…
Now, I can understand the arguments saying that giving the Badges of Honor in the achievement chests will help to keep PvE players out of WvW, but I look at the Badges as rewards for participating in WvW, just like the tokens are rewards for participating in dungeons.
Map completion
But they are all SOULBOUND? WTF?
They are not soulbound.

The only things that were changed to allow you to stick to somebody is mace f1 and mh sword. When he says ‘trait’ he’s using the wrong word. People who get interviewed and represent a company are usually picked for their ability to keep a conversation going, not for knowing all the specifics.
(edited by Player Character.9467)
He’s talking about the 1h sword auto… >.>
You would be able to do way too much with 3 weapons sets and 5 second weapon swapping…
Yeah thanks to the one who made that build. I was using the same traits on my S/Shield/LB warrior for a while 0-10-20-10-30. I never used really used a Great sword since launch. I also had Braham’s shield/mace and a GS in my bank that was pretty much only using bank space.
Now I just run away I do a quick trait/gear change, I switch from my old self to the skull crusher build and vice versa. I also have a reason to use Braham weapons now.
What’re you running in tactics?
LBow 3 is not a condition skill. LBow F1 also ticks more from the AoE (which scales on power) than the burn.
Zerker kiting is very easy. Cycle pin down and bladetrail. Total uptime is longer than cooldowns. Blind, pointblank fan of fire, melee burst, whirl away, blade trail, lbow autos/heal time if needed, pin down, lbow 3, repeat.
Alternatively you could run some axe/cc weapons set and stun/daze/knockdown instead of kiting.

The only thing you can’t get from wvw is the dungeon gift and map completion.
It’s dumb that your spvp skins aren’t tradeable to other people and have a locker system to keep them from eating up your inventory? Could somebody please tape this man’s mouth shut, he’s clearly the reason why we don’t have MORE locker based skins…
I DON’T WANT TO TRADE WITH OTHER PEOPLE, just MY other characters. The locker system is fine. Just when you open it let the items be account bound instead of soulbound. Why is that so hard to understand?
What would you do with these account bound items that would make it any different? Mail them to yourself? Nope. Bank them? Why?
To be honest, the Ranger armor in the Gem Shop seems to be the best of the coat-armors…
I don’t have the game open right now, but there’s Ranger armor in the gem shop now? This must be new.

Been there since… launch?
Shield stance is also only the size of a single player’kittenbox…
I feel like we need to go back to the gym example.
IF YOU CAN DODGE A BACKSTAB YOU CAN DODGE A BALL!
It’s not a trick… its your kittening spvp locker that you put your spvp gear, consumables, and crafting mats into… kitten

I’m pretty sure boons were tweaked to prioritize players in range over npcs in range.
With this logic, skins should all be available for any armor type…
I am only saying that all Gem Shop skins should be made available since they do not carry light/medium/heavy-specific stats. Every other skin in the game carries with it light/medium/heavy-specific stats.
I do not think it is too far-fetched that a Ranger could wear a heavy-skin (not stats). I mean, axes, swords, and greatswords are available to the Ranger, allowing them to engage in close-quarters combat. It would be pretty tight.
Most of the armors available to the Ranger are pretty coat-y. To be honest, the Ranger armor in the Gem Shop seems to be the best of the coat-armors….just enough length, flows really well, etc. etc….
No skin has to carry stats with it. Transmutation.
I mean playing in the gear you want to get, the time to get the set is way too annoying.
Yes but it doesn’t require putting off playing for a month.
Or… split it between CoF and CoE, run all your 60 token runs, 360 tokens for the full set of runs per character and none of those paths are remotely difficult or time consuming. Just remember that’s 180/180 and you need to do 2 full sets of runs to have 360 tokens for both dungeons. 690 per dungeon (180,330,180 from one, 210,300,180 from the other), 4 characters, 1 day… 6 hours tops with a decent group.
Condi’s are practically the only viability if you’re playing pvp/wvw solo or in small skirmish. Weakness and blind pretty much destroyed power builds on a good player.
Blinds require more methods to apply than what the warrior has available tho…
Would 0/25/25/0/20 or 0/25/30/0/15 be a slightly more optimzed option? you can get the 10% damage trait and last stand if needed
I go with 0/25/15/0/30 to fit my personal playstyle more, go with what you like.
Good spec if you want extra damage instead of more condi clearing.
Altho you do take a hit to adrenaline generation.
Unblockable? on guaranteed crits? thieves would then just stealth, backstab, shadowstep away, wait out reveal, stealth, backstab, repeat.
And btw, since it doesn’t reveal the thief, it’s not dumb to swing at the shield. =P
It is dumb by the mechanics governing any other class in the entire game. The ones that punish you for doing dumb things at dumb times, like during highly telegraphed animations. Burst dps skills shouldn’t sit on 0cd 0cost, spam until it goes off.
(edited by Player Character.9467)
Longbow 3 is a power skill, you’re running 25 stacks, using final thrust would take more time to animate than just killing it from 50%, and you literally used your burst skill. High health (do not say HP, that means healing power… anet coulda picked a name that didn’t conflict with the HP/MP we’ve all been seeing for decades) translates into you taking an extra 1 or 2 hits in a burst scenario relative to somebody with your same armor/healing and that much less health. It doesn’t actually mitigate the DPS you take, it just buys you an extra couple seconds.
