It’s been like this since beta. Axe 1 has always out-dps’d axe 5. Axe 5 is there to gain adrenaline and crit as many times as possible in a short amount of time to proc rending strikes and traits like it.

Back on topic, engis would be nice to have 1 of in a party except the rest of the party is already capping vuln stacks and if the CC an engi can provide wasn’t utterly pointless in PvE. Also turret revamp.

Conditions are the counter to high toughness, and the counter to conditions already exists in the form of health (vitality, if you wanna look at it that way).
Sustained heal per second is the counter to conditions, vitality is just a counter to bursts.
Yeah you’re right, I should have worded more carefully to say vitality/hp is a passive counter to conditions (because conditions are bound by durations, so the more hp it has to eat through, the less effective it could be) but you’re right in that a more direct counter is sustained healing to simply cover the condition dmg. The only problem is healing power in general scales relatively badly (most of the time, but there’s a few overpowered heals in the game) but vitality helps fill that gap as a passive buffer.
The issue with vitality is it has diminishing returns with how long a fight lasts. That extra few thousand hp at the start of a 2 minute fight doesn’t mean a heck of a lot unless you literally won by 1 hit and nobody overhealed.
Is no where close to LB3 or axe f1 imo
Is has nearly twice the damage of LB3 when you hit someone under 50% HP. It does in theory slightly more damage than a Backstab to the back.
what, on my tooltip.its says.final thrust when enemy have lower then 50 hp does 2.3k ish and LB3 does 2k ish.and LB3 is so much easier to land and its a much bigger aoe. not to mention it has no restrictions for the damage it does and it has only 10 sec cd
Can confirm LB3 ~170% of final thrust >50%hp and ~85% of final thrust <50%hp. Final thrust is not nearly twice the damage unless Anet got some goofy math on it.
Also pretty sure axe 5 still has that bug for asurans.
I mentioned this in another thread but it bears repeating here to slow down the spread of misinformation: Forceful Greatsword is a net DPS loss in an organized group. When you run with 3-4 warriors and a mesmer with signet of inspiration you will hit 25 stacks of Might that last 20s+ each. Forceful greatsword will overwrite a third of those with 5 second stacks in the first 4 seconds of a fight, which will kill your dps in any fight longer than 9 seconds. It’s a build trap.
Well it’s also a terribly designed boon/condition overwriting.
When you watch somebody die 8 times in 1 boss fight you really gotta take actions to keep people from wasting their time reviving that guy >.>
All Orr needs is a little bit of loving from the mechanisms used in WvW design: destructible fortifications, spontaneous and sustained events, and flexibile AI.
Did I miss a WvW map? Where does this exist? and could we get it ported over to the rest of the game?
I would pay upwards of $25 for a race change instead of taking up another 200 of my hours to level up the same profession with a different race
Just FYI, the gold to craft to 80 in less than an hour if ur organized about it would be ~$20 if you went $ -> gems -> gold -> buy off tp without even using buy orders.

I just thought of two trait ideas that may make the warrior a bit more feared in PvP.
Warrior’s Endurance
Gain X Healing Power and Y Defense for every enemy around you (Max 5)Primal Rage
Gain X Power and Y% Attack Speed for every enemy around you (Max 5)Was thinking like 100 for Healing Power, Defense, and Power, and 5% for attack speed. No idea how balanced that would be but getting it balanced would make the Warrior someone you don’t want to gang up on because they get stronger the more backed into a corner they are.

It one thing to kick someone when they made the mistake. You don’t waste their time by having them do the whole content and then boot them and bring a guildie in for the reward. That’s just absurd.
OP, never run PuG groups with 4 people of the same guild. If they are all of the same guild, then YOU must open the dungeon.
OP admittedly dies a lot in the run, wouldn’t surprise me if he was dying during the boss too and they finally got tired of it.
Anet has actually been wrong about things they’ve stated in the past tho, several times. Or how about the ecto salvage rate that was only fixed because of how many threads were pointing at it?
Zaye removing fast hands means you’re stuck using gs auto attacks and the extra base attack you built becomes wasted. Once you’re sticking to one weapon set, axe/mace isn’t going to lose…

Unfortunately many of these events are group events. For example, in Timberline Falls, with the Krait Witch in the middle of the lake — it can be difficult to find a group willing to do the content.
And that’s also assuming that I want to interrupt whatever it is that I’m currently working on (hearts, usually) to go half way across the map to finish some event. The range of the NPC speech is ridiculously large and repeated far too often.
I do simply turn off the dialogue volume, but it’s only a mediocre solution for a poor design.

I thought everyone knew that the loot tables don’t scale with level. If Anet says otherwise, they haven’t checked the drops at all. People have been complaining about this in these forums forever.
Anet does say otherwise. However maybe it’s something along the lines of
0-9 = 1.01% for a rare
10-19 = 1.02% for a rare
20-29 = 1.03% for a rare
etc. etc.

That is mostly in PvE and dungeons, I don’t think mobs have access to the toughness stat, only armor. It would not change dungeons at all.
I imagine they’re coded to ONLY have toughness contributing to their armor value as they don’t wear real sets of armor and the defense stat is a property of gear.

This is exactly what separates the excellent and the inexperienced. Those of us who have stuck it out as warriors and learned counters to the most powerful builds out there. Running berserker’s is the worst possible decision you can make, in my honest opinion. You hear about the lack of warrior sustain everywhere you look in these foul and putrid forums for warriors, yet all of them run berserker gear. Tell me, which class can run full berserker gear and last more than 1 minute in any fight without running away to reset the fight? Figure out what works for YOU. I personally run apothecary gear for the condition damage and heavy healing, as well as the high toughness to avoid burst. Shout heals allow for a MUCH higher EHP.
Find what works, use it to your advantage, master it. That’s what I can tell you. Warriors DO NOT suck in tPvP, and you’ll find that if you put enough time into mastering the class rather than learning to play it, you’ll seldom lose.
Same guy who tells the “glorious” story (as he states it) about how he was running in wvw and casted a mass invis and a zerg of 40+ behind them just ran off a cliff into their demise, as if mass invis worked on more targets than a handful….

His zerg of about 30+ was running from their zerg of about 40+ or 50, something much larger… and he casted mass invis and watched as the “entire” opposing zerg fell to their death.

Well it actually does serve a purpose in regular dungeons, keeps people from opening explore for other groups that didn’t unlock it yet. Fractals would make more sense if it wasn’t invite some1 stupidly high up, open 79, have them leave and re-invite your 5th.

Just to further illustrate why PUGs can no longer do this boss, there was a guardian in map chat the other day (DB), who said he uses Mace/Shield with Staff as swap, and when I told him that Mace will have trash damage output, he said
“Well this Guardian build isn’t meant to do damage.”
You know what tops that? Eles that believe they’re meant to play in 1 attune the ENTIRE KITTENING RUN…

There are some people out there that would amaze you in their ability to level to 80 by sitting in earth so they can stack bleeds cuz they’re a condi ele or wear full PTV and do nothing but spam fireball.
For starters I’d like to see all ‘stacking’ be rendered useless-I hardly think that was an intentional game design…it’s just a clumsy work-around (how could ‘everyone run into each other’s character model and auto-attack’ possibly be intentional?-When the game requires you to move to a particular area (e.g. ac p3) the protected area is large enough that 5 players don’t have to fuse together). The beginning of hotw p1/p2 have stacking by the stairs and on boxes respectively; p1 also has a similar stacking on the 2nd boss, the spider in ac now is being stacked, of course project alpha is ‘stack, roll into him, stack’, oh and speaking of AC I wouldn’t mind the dungeon not being able to progress until Kholer is defeated (one of the few bosses in which there are no exploits and everyone avoids him…funny that)
So you play some ranged build I take it? Kinda hard to have 5 people melee something and not stack unless you wanna give all melee weapons some stupid range buff. Stacking is also a gamble, it increases the potential dps of the boss as they can cleave the entire party and any aoe can hit all 5 members. Being organized in how you do this is also important because bosses like to slowly move backwards when you melee them (who at anet invented this mechanic?).

The general reward could be something like this:
X token and Y silver, where
X := round(sqrt( time_needed ) x 1.5 ; 1) ; time_needed in seconds.
Y := round(sqrt( time_needed ) x 0.75 ; 0.01) ; basically half of tokens and rounded to copper.
For additional runs a day, reduce the “1.5” and “0.75” to “0.5” and “0.25”.so a 10min run in CoF would get you 37 tokens, a 30 min run 64 tokens, a 60 min run 90 tokens and a 2h run 127 tokens. This would nerf CoF runs, but honestly, they deserve it. But it’d buff all other dungeons and get you some rewards for longer paths or longer dungeons.
And akitteng thru the night every day rewards players with tokens for an exotic and over a gold each? nty

Except it only DR’s dungeon reward money. In real CoF runs this drops like a rock anyway. Your real money is from all the scripted silver drops from bosses.
This happened so long ago… why are you bringing this up now? It prevents parties from pulling encounters to waypoints and just insta reviving over and over or running on the ones that you can’t manipulate into following you to a waypoint. You can actually still manage to hold aggro on several bosses while out of combat with ur team running back….

Yes they do, in an incredibly low chance which is unjustified when you can purchase them directly for 2,100 karma.
What I meant with the boxes is their availability for purchase, every Karma merchant in Orr sells those, why not do the same with Obsidian Shards?

Assuming you’re talking about GS #2, 8-12k means ur doing 1/4 of the damage you could easily do if you ran with an organized group and didn’t need full PTV btw.

LBow doesn’t have a stun… and you should really blast that fire field b4 swapping back out.
Since you’re immediately swapping off the weapon, the stats it has won’t have much impact on the burn because conditions and fields update to your current stats, not those from when you initiated them. The stats on just the weapon are also a small portion of your overall stats and will have a very small impact on the weapon performance if everything else remains the same.
Also if you have blind on you you aren’t HITTING anybody so you aren’t gaining adrenaline from attacking, that only leaves being setup to get adrenaline from taking hits or from using surge(which would sacrifice some of the heals capabilities)/fury signet/berserker’s stance. It would usually be a special case to fill a bar while you have blind.

HOLD IT! Rampage? O_O… I would say “Are you kidding me”, but I am not that great when it comes to making builds (even though my first one when the game launched, turns about to be one of the variations people used for their greatswords pre-patch XD)

Signet of Rage offers nothing for a Bunker defending point.
Rampage provides the CC you need on point to lock out players who have limited access to stability.
It also SUCKS if the other person has boon steal.
If you’re serious about bow dps, you need the 1200 bow trait to convert your basic shots into 100% finishers ( that you do, of course, thru combushot. Don’t forget you can also drop combushot on yourself and keep the firepewpews going while kiting classes do their dance.
With the setup you’re going for, maybe try 0/25/20/10/15 dropping boonhate+furious but gaining stronger bowstrings and keeping bleed damage bonus and fast hands for those quick switches.
Does stronger bowstrings still have the autos do 10% less damage? Didn’t catch that one in the update.

Plus from the traitline you’ve got some extra health which is always handy.
That’s actually one of the least handy things in sustain. An extra bit of hp is just another hit in a fight, it means less and less the longer a fight lasts.
