If any more wings are added I’m down for white feathers (then I can make my warrior look even more like the Nightfall Paragon artwork)
Trinity sucks dude. You’ll find no sympathy here.
This here is my opinion too.
While I’m playing FF14: A Realm Reborn on the side and getting the Trinity there, it’s only reminding me why the hell I hate it. Tank screws up? The party wipes. The healer screws up? Party wipes. If DPS doesn’t kill things fast enough? The party wipes. If any ONE person screws up or doesn’t have the equipment or has min/max’d like they’re supposed to, it’s all over for the party. This is one problem I have with the system.
I think that depends on the game to some extent, back in DCUO (which has the trinity…actually it has more than that with tank/dps/heal/energy batter (I mean controller) was doing a raid and half the team wiped within 2 minutes of the final boss…..still won with 1 tank, 1 controller (me), 2 healers….IT WAS JUST THE MOST LONG AND PAINFUL BATTLE.
But fair point on things getting significantly more difficult for everyone else when someone messes up in trinity based games. At least here for the most part you can solo without any significant problems if you know what you’re doing
Mesmer: complete rework of scepter….or at least change the auto attack, it’s too slow to be of any real use.
Yeah, they didn’t really think it through. Adding another condition when they can’t even address the current issues with conditions in pve.
it wasn’t added, it’s always been there it’s just been rare (thief and I think necro have had always)
One, that phrase isn’t in the filter. Whether the filter is on or off, it’ll be shown uncensored.
Two, the ignore feature does not function on all chat channels.

Most of them are decked out in the most revealing outfits anyway
Or just get the pitfighter chest. Should work.

“You keep saying Norn, but you show pictures of an Asuran!”
I guess that’s the joke…
Which only works for heavy armor.
Medium and Light armors there’s not really any options (well for males).
There are instances where some of the shoulder pieces would look awesome without the shirt (like the devout light armor) so in general I agree about a tick box to show/hide
I don’t have any issues hitting things with it (but I tab target rather than auto target so that may help?) it’s good for tagging (ie when your zerg runs straight through there tag….lots of loot!) since you pretty much hit everything on screen.
So back on topic (or what Anet thinks this topic should be about), the ignore feature needs work. Creating a client side blacklist would be ideal to allow players to completely block a player from everything (which the current system doesn’t do). When you block a player, it should block that player from everything you see/do. Well, except visually cause you can’t really create a system that turns a character invisible if you block them.
But players shouldn’t be seeing blocked players in emotes, say, team chat, etc. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of blocking them in the first place.
Adding on to that, with the LFG tool, if you create it or are in a party already, those on blocked lists for anyone in that party shouldn’t be able to see the listing or join it either.

Potentially any map, as every map has around 6 champs on it, but for whatever reason only queens/frost are zerged up
Theres one in the next update (or one after that) it’s a healing skill though….
maybe put what you figured out in your answer in case it happens to someone else?
technically f key is just 1 action, activate whatever the on screen command is.
loot has an option to be another key, just very people use it (which is odd given that it’s an AOE loot all)
You all do know about AoE loot that you bind to a key that is different than interact with object, right?
Don’t be silly that would require some effort that isn’t complaining about an issue they could easily resolve themselves….that’s not the MMO gamer way.
Everyone that finds this such an issue go into your key bindings and make ‘r’ or whatever into your aoe loot pick up (even better than having to press F on every loot, you can get them all in one go and not even be near them :O)
conditions are already redundant in wvw….most wars with warhorn have the trait for condi cleanse and with how many of those horns are going off every few seconds….
At the moment, I have absolutely no clue what the heck is happeinign inside Anet’s development team. They seem to have writers but…what are those writers actually doing.
I do not wish to offend anyone but I can’t see the current story being the work of a professional writer. Its disjointed, it lacks character progression, and the worst part of it: it gives the ‘reader’ zero-interest to find out more. I know that the best storytellers masterfully always gives the reader just enough information to intrigue them but never let you know everything even at the very end, but the story in this case seems to be going nowhere at all. You don’t have a clue why anything is happening.
I don’t think professional writers have ever really been involved with guild wars in general, nothing has really been above fan fic quality.
I’ve gotten more than that 2500 shards since ascended weapons were released with no actual grind o-o
I just do what i want and it flows in quicker than i can keep track of it, and i don’t even WANT an ascended item, they all look pretty horrible to me. Quit complaining and learn that it’s not going to take a single day to get it, we already have enough of these cry-baby threads on the forums.2500 shards. Yeah….call me skeptical. Are you playing 10+ hours a day. What are you doing to obtain that many?
Maybe you should say that, or is this really just a troll post to call people cry babies?
I’m in a similar positions (only lacking dragonite) and all I really do is wvw…I think it’s just from the champ boxes (tower/keep lords) I haven’t really been paying too much attention though.
Then do so. I personally always liked 1 vs 1 against champs and the introduction of champ trains certainly didn’t stop me from doing them solo (though it much harder now to find a champ that isn’t overrun by the train before you even get half done).
Err no it isn’t. There’s at least half a dozen champs on every map, the train is only on two maps….
I honestly have never gotten the point of or want for player housing in any MMO. It seems like an RP’er only thing due to how useless they always are compared with the rest of the game world.
soul bound should be replaced across the whole game with account bound.
This has been brought up so many times by people, including myself. The fix is in the hands of Anet, but it appears they just don’t care.
That’s what I don’t get. How can they not care? It’s their product, and WvW is about the only end-game this game has (Forget champion farming seriously, it’s a mindless grind and dungeons and fractals are as much.)
Do they really want people who want a serious competitive game, to go off to the next big hit?
Probably not since it’s probably going to be WildStar…another NCSoft title.
I’m more concerned by the abuse in map chat that’s been cropping up……map chat is getting hostile :\
map chap on mag has always been hostile
I’m not on Mag :P
Normally I’ve just seen people SPEAK IN ALL CAPS when people are being stupid….this past week though I’ve been seeing a lot of blaming and direct insulting of other players.
I’m more concerned by the abuse in map chat that’s been cropping up……map chat is getting hostile :\
Just the mere fact that the mystic forge was included at release shows me that Anet really doesn’t have any idea how bad the RNG system is broken. The RNG in this game works like this: If you are lucky, you are lucky for the rest of your gaming days. If you are not lucky, then you will receive practically nothing for the rest of your gaming days. That’s my opinion on this.
Many people in my guild say I’m foolish to npc my greens or salvage my yellows. I say, “have you seen my luck? I get nothing”. Some people really don’t understand this rng kitten and its horrible feedback. It’s not rewarding at all, and furthermore it serves no purpose other than a gold sink. I can have 1000 more hours than some random new comer and they will have a better chance at a precursor from the mystic toilet than me. That’s not to say all new comers will have that luck, but even 1 person having a better shot than me with less effort is terrible enough. Playtime shouldn’t equal better stats, well legendary precursor’s aren’t stat boosts. I’ve played well enough to earn at least 1 precursor.
I’ve dumped at least 2k rares into the MF and haven’t even gotten a good exotic. The last straw was when my friend had just hit level 80, and a couple of days later was running Arah and got a precursor drop. He literally put about 100 hours into the game where I put in close to 2,500 hours. I never used the Mystic Forge again after that.
You were only just getting to the upper barrier. On average it appears to be around 2k rares = precursor (1 in 500 tries) or 400 exo = precursor (1 in 100 tries). Obviously RNG plays it part so it may be less or more but on average
Over 100 responses and not a one from Anet…
Because they won’t. They realise the majority of their players aren’t aware of the issue, so they won’t respond because they can ignore it……not a professional attitude at all but it’s the one that will end up being used.

It was never advertised as a horizontal progression game.
Sure it was.

Eurogamer: How are you handling endgame loot – will we be farming bosses?
Colin Johanson: Everyone, including casual gamers, by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base. The rare stuff becomes the really awesome looking armours. It’s all about collecting the unique looking stuff and collecting all the other rare collectable items in the game <snip>
permAnd even casual gamers can get ascended pretty easily. They purposely made sure it was reasonably with in reach of casual gamers.
ermmm, not really, especially the weapons which really just high lights why the game is being referred to as “grind wars 2”. The ideals that were touted in media for years in the build up to release were ditched very quickly in favour of $$$.
I think ANet have a very skewed view of fun since they dropped GW1.
Mindless grinding for example does not = fun.
But it does equal $$$
It’s what happens when companies start selling out instead of sticking with their ideals.
how does it equal $$$?
Cause actually its quite the opposite in my view. Take the champion farming when that was introduced it because an good source of ingame gold. In game gold can be used to buy gems thus generating less money for Arenanet at the same time People who lacked the gold to buy in game stuff now have an easy way to make money thus have less incentive to convert gems into in game gold.
I dont see how it in any way equals more $$$ honestly.
You don’t know how the game systems work….those gems bought with gold were originally bought by another player for $$$.
So we have a grindy way to earn gold by people at large, they then can buy gems (or whatever else causing some level of inflation of the top tier items) from other players. Now the thing about gold to gems and gems to gold is gold to gems is also a gold sink (ie if you sold 100 gems you’d get 4g85s but if you buy gems you’d spend 6g72s) . Ultimately the more gold in game, the higher the cost of the top tier items (ie legendaries, limited time skins, etc) but nothing much else is increasing in price, ie exotics have pretty much stayed the same price they also have. So over time the value of gems will increase resulting in higher gold pay outs to sellers.
Amusingly, when I did them, the obi one had two servers mesmers just porting people with no fighting.
In one of the borderlands I came across an opposing player, /wave they /wave back and we did it together.
Beyond those two situations I basically never see people in the jump puzzles anymore (unlike a year ago)
I really Like the stuff on the Asura its just… They`re to small to show of your awesomeness
So thats why Human or Sylvari??? Which one looks the best?
In heavy armor they look the same since most helmets cover the face entirely and most heavy armor covers the body entirely.
It’s not entertaining to have a legendary or to have fully decked out character, it’s entertaining to work towards and create a legendary or a fully decked out character. The process of making those things is the fun part.
To you, I personally greatly disagree. The process is tedious, especially so in GW2.
Your idea is stupid. No more crafting, please. I’d rather have RNG bullkitten instead.
Sadly…I find myself having to agree.
You could just destroy the drop and continue on your way with the current work towards your goal.
That or join a group…soon as I was in a party I was getting credit for it. If you’re going at it solo you wont be doing enough damage
I really just want thee warrior to get a 1 hand range weapon
That’s the wrong comparison. IIRC, old Teq had a 3-hour spawn timer/30 min window. assume 3 hours. 8 Teqs a day, 24 servers…is 192 Teqs.
Now, we need a guesstimate of how many people did old Teq each attempt. I’d peg the average kitten or 100(totally random guess, but 200 is impossible because only a handful of servers, at handful of primetime hours hit overflow), just an average between low-pop and over-pop servers.
That’s 9600 – 19200 players doing Teq daily, gone down to 4000. So around a 50-75% decrease, depending on the estimates. .
There are 51 servers 24 for NA and 27 for EU.
All numbers aside, it’s rather obvious that the new event has not been a success.
It’s the “open world” part of it that fails, they attempted to make an open world raid….raiders are instanced, they do it on their schedule not the games, etc. The development decisions made most of the time here is that gamers should bend to the game even when those decisions are obviously going to see the wide berth by the player base.

I’d go with Charr based on their cultural heavy armor but since that’s out of the picture…
who’se cultural armor do you like the most? since really most heavy armors look the same on asura/human/sylvari apart from propotions
If you do the math using the calculators, statistically the difference on a berserker gear (weapon + trinkets) ascended vs exotics is ~ 6%. in Condition gears the difference is way less!
IMO the difference is quite neglectable for the rage we see in the forums towards Ascended gear (i have full exotics and i do just fine).
I’m more worried about players don’t using any consumables that boosts way more the damage than the said gears!
/cheers
That math is wrong unless you’re using old numbers (ie before the weapons) and with ascended armor around the corner (it’s been data mined) full ascend vs exo disparity is going to increase further to approx 20%
Enjoy a week of constant queues because that’s all you’re going to get.
Thing is, PvEers join WvW to get the achievements without doing much use. That’s alright, we expect them too.
But WvWers do as well, because anyone actually wanting to raid in WvW will grind achievements even harder to get them over with ASAP.
So basicly, a week of grinding no matter what you do. Many grinders will get tired after the first week and slow down.
I think many grinders will be finished in a week, I ’ve got 6 of 15 so far and the others are near complete (except the caravans and sentries)
Effectively I am. I’m in a guild but I don’t talk with anyone it in, the only reason I’m in it is for the stat bonus’s and giving them whatever guild currency I earn from doing events.
1. Ascended Items/Removal of the power creep vertical progression that is being implemented
2. Anet instituted gambling in the gem store (RNG)
3. Third Heavy Armor Class
Cap WvW gear at exotic then since ascended gear offers a supposedly trivial increase to overall power and it “doesn’t really matter”. You can still enjoy everything WvW has to offer with exotic gear.
This would invalidate all the work you’ve put in to attain the gear.
But I see you’re trying to make the “if it doesn’t matter then why have it all?” point that has been trotted out since day one.
WvW isn’t balanced around player statistics. Positioning, timing, build, numbers (as in player-count), and siege matter much more than any given player’s attribute points.
Really? Then have fun running up against an organized group decked out in ascended gear (with ascended armor) and their capability to deal approximately 20% more damage. And then come back and tell me it’s not really balanced around player statistics.
Wasn’t problem when exoctic was the highest. Didn’t see people state

because exotic gear is easy to get, has been easy to get since day 1 and won’t set you back a couple hundred gold, isn’t locked behind time gating, etc
To act like it’s remotely alike is to ignore obvious mechanisms that differentiate the two category and makes an honest discussion with you impossible as you’re the type of poster who is unwilling to hear any opinion but your own…
And ascended gear is easy to get as well. It takes time, sure, but it is still easy to get.
Also you are wrong about me, otherwise I can say the same thing about you.
easy to get….how many casuals do you see around with more than 500g (ie the approx price it takes to actually level up crafting to get ascended weapons, then there’s the cost of the ascended item itself….if you say you can farm for it all, it’s true but it’s significantly more difficult as much higher rarity mats are used than exotics and in much greater quanity)…..
Exotic gear can be gotten fairly easily (and guaranteed) from wvw, karma, dungeons or a tiny amount of gold off the exchange….this isn’t the cause with ascended. With ascended you’re time gated and locked into a very specific tasks to get the gear or having to rely on very low change and double RNG rolls….it’s not equivalent to exotic gear, it’s drop rate is much lower and it’s cost is much higher, add in the fact it’s all account bound unlike exotic gear and you’re pretty much lying to everyone to say they are alike.
Wait until he gets to the end of the personal story. o.O
Agreed, that boss person/that turns into a spider and spawns an infinite wave of spiders…….that was sadistic

hexes to Mesmers.
Enough of this “phantasms are living hexes” or “confusion iS all the hexes in one” bs excuse
If at all, they belong to necromancers, get your facts straight, ..a hex is a CURSE
it’s a reference to Guild Wars 1….
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hex_spell
I’ve managed it solo without issue.
If you’re having that much issue though, possibly check what event the statue is used in then check http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html and see whats open and guest to that server.
Disagree, if you point the finger at pve players do to achivements look to getting those achievements removed. Don’t look to making it difficult for others to play.
If the queue time is such a big issue for you transfer servers (which is what caused the queue times in the first place, everyone transferred to the top few servers)
Agreed, is the primary reason I’ve never bought it, I have too many alts that I play fairly evenly to justify purchase the commander tag for one of them
Something I noticed and seems inconsistent with other classes. Screen shot attached is pretty self explanatory but if not.
No other class is able to target the opposite side of the wall, on any other class with line of site you’d get obstructed but not in the case of the screen shot attached…
First of all the personal story really is not that big not like I thought it would be you start out doing a few things but it has no real personal touch to it and it ends with not even you (the player) being the hero. But here is an idea when you do a race change it clears it all up and gives you the options after you choose the race and details that go with that race. What it could do is run you through the options you would of been asked if u chose that race when you started the game this way (even tho it does not really have a real impact on the game u still have your personal story even if u change your race.
It’s not the impact the story has on the end game nor the quality of the story. Rerolling the race has an impact on how much you’re playing the game and how much you are being involved with the economy as you level up your character and buy, make new armor for that character, as well as your overall participation in the world itself. Imagine, if you will, the game had zero level ups such that all new characters are created at max level, max armor, max weapons, and so on. Nothing much to do then except maybe PvP, SPvP, or WvW, and even then that would eliminate the need for 99% of the game (aka PvE).
Rerolling a character’s race simply allows one character to be brought up to max one time, and then there is little to no replay value. And even if, as you say, you wipe out the story and achievements on a reroll and chose to go through the story again, it wouldn’t be the same as you are now more powerful than the story mode is designed to be, so you just breeze through it without really having to do very much or have very much of a challenge. I’m not saying the story is great nor super difficult, but it is very different when you have to start at level 1 and work your way through it.
As one poster put it, he bragged about having leveled and done the story mode on several characters, and seemed to be proud of that calling himself a GW2 veteran. There’s nothing brag worthy about leveling/maxing 1 character and then race changing as you please. And as I alluded to, once players get a race reroll option, they’ll ask for a class reroll option next. Why? Because it’s clear that many players are too lazy to actually work for their goals. If you wanted all Sylvari at the beginning and now want humans, either delete a character and start over, or buy another slot and start a new character. It may not excite you, but not all goals in this game or in life are exciting, and if you want to reach them you have to put in some effort.
You’re arguments sound fanatical and point out why others shouldn’t be allowed to play how they want but doesn’t go into how the addition of the feature would personally affect your playing….not really sure players should dictate how other players should play.
an item that changes a toons species (within context of the game, they aren’t races no matter how often that term is used) isn’t creating a new toon like your argument states, it’s altering an existing toon. That toon already went through the leveling process and already had it’s impact on the economy, just because it’s personal story is reset DOES NOT remove the impact it ALREADY had on the economy.
The assumption you’re making is everyones doing their personal story, of my multiple lvl 80’s only 1 has done their personal story past lvl 10. The fact all personal stories merge and ultimately have little impact resulted in my not doing them. It’s not like even now a player can skip the personal story and do it all at one go with max gear, no one has to “start at level 1 and work your way through it” it’s not a requirement to leveling.
Nope, I’ve only bought enough gems to get the 3 extra character slots after than I was on the money making train and haven’t had to worry about it (golds to gem)
